Growing up in a musical family in the Netherlands in Apeldoorn, at just the tender age of 4 she began creating her own songs and lyrics, while her father was in charge of recording her singing efforts as her mother was also a Gospel singer and sang in a Gospel group named "Relation". Jocey often joined her father watching her mother singing and she was very inspired from that young age by her mother's singing.
