computer. I'm sure you have some sort of Internet access, so I suggest you hop online for some wonderful information. I say it's wonderful because it's didactical and free of charge. I was able to find a website that walked me through the steps of building and mounting a fine fireplace mantel. Once I was finished constructing and sanding mine, I painted it white to match the walls. Then came the braces. Of course you have to use some sort of braces. I crafted a couple from wood. They worked perfectly. It's all about the measuring. If everything is measured and sized properly, there's no reason why it shouldn't work. We currently enjoy our hand-made fireplace mantel and it looks just as good as any purchased one. You too can learn how to build a fireplace mantel in no time at all. It actually requires few supplies and can be completed in a day's time.
