Data Center Raised Floor Maintenance And Cleaning Posted By: Bob Cogan

Pro Access Floors

1. What equipment needs to be regularly maintained?

[Bob Cogan]
All electronic equipment within computer rooms, and areas surrounding. The equipment contained inside is highly sensitive and the functions they perform are critical for business operations. Therefore the need for high levels of contamination control within the environments they are stored in is essential and evaluating the environment can be done to control contamination.

2. What maintenance and/or cleaning needs to be done on the Raised Floor and Raised Floor Systems?

[Bob Cogan]
There is a 4 step process recommended:
 AND nbsp;
First and foremost-Is to determine the contamination level in the equipment room or data center to see if it meets Federal Standard 209e. This is done for air quality particulate testing, with special metering devices to monitor the .5 and 5 micron particle sizes per the above 209e standard. Other ranges can be tested, as required. This report is given before and again after the cleaning process for comparison of before and after results.

NOTE: Some sites to AND nbsp;forego this step and go directly to the cleaning process.
Taking Care Of Ceramic Tile Floors Posted By: Joe Cline

If you are one of the millions of homeowners who has made the switch from carpet to tile flooring, you will need to know how to care for your investment. Surprisingly easy to care for, ceramic tile floors add beauty and an upscale feel to any home. Though not as difficult to care for as hardwood floors, they do require some extra care to keep the tiles free from abrasions, cracks or discoloring for years to come. It is fairly simple to take care of tile floors.

Daily Care

The most important step to keeping your tile floors looking as new as they did the day they were installed is to properly maintain them. Frequent sweeping up of dust and dirt particles is important to keeping grit and grime from being ground into the porous surface. Glossy finishes can be scratched by grit. Wipe up spills immediately to prevent staining of the grout. You should also take care to move furniture and other items by lifting them instead of dragging them on over the tiles. Using felt pads will help prevent scratching and possible tile breakage.Austin real estateAustin RealtorAustin Realtor Blog

Property Damage Due To Fire: Steps You Need To Follow Posted By: Andrew Stratton

House fires have been nicknamed "silent disasters" when compared to the natural disasters which are so publicly broadcasted about by the news media. Tornadoes, floods, hurricanes and tsunamis get a lot more press because they are devastating and uncommon. House fires are much more common but just as destructive. They are often considered private and isolated affairs that not many people hear about, thus their nickname.

The most common reasons for a house fire to ignite include:

1. Improper functioning appliances and electric wiring
2. Objects placed too near a heat source such as a fireplace, woodstove or heater
3. Cooking projects gone bad. Unwatched pots and pans upon the stove, excessively hot oil in the frying pan, popping popcorn forgotten
4. Dropped cigarettes on the couch or bed
5. Children playing with matches

Once a fire has occurred and been put out, and the family is safe and sound, there will still be damage to sort through and try to alleviate. Inspecting the home and attempting to salvage unburned possessions will no doubt be emotionally devastating. There will be an oily residue on all surfaces to contend with as well as a permeating burnt smell.fire damage rhode islandsmoke damage rhode islanddamage fire island rhode

Tile And Grout Cleaning Posted By: Mark Moretti

Tile is one of the most common materials used in many homes for flooring, shower enclosures and kitchen backsplashes. It provides a very durable surface that can be cleaned easily and will retain its luster and color for many years if maintained properly. The challenge with most tile installations is that even though the tile itself is very durable, the grout used in the spaces between the tiles is very porous and can allow dirt and grease to collect in its pores. Over time this will discolor the grout and can really turn a beautiful tile surface into an eyesore.

This discoloration can be caused by dirt being tracked on a floor as people walk across a room. In a bathroom, mold is the biggest problem for grout and can darken the grout in a very short time if not cleaned. In the kitchen, most tile backsplashes will become stained with grease and food and will need to be cleaned regularly. The good news is that all of these stains are cleaned in a very similar way and the results can be amazing with just a little work.tile and grout cleaningtilesgroutfloorstaingreasediscoloured

Decorating Tips: Have A Little Enjoyment Posted By: Veronica Sweeps

Create decorating joy for yourself, but at the same time it is obliging to familiarize yourself with the behavior that the pros apply. Of all the noble decorating tips out there, a very decent one is for choosing your color topic of either warm or cool. Warm colors consist of reds, yellows, and oranges. Blues, greens, and purples are cool colors The decision you now have to achieve is whether or not you desire your room to have a warm feel to it or a cool one, then opt your colors from there. An additional aspect of color to imagine is whether you covet monotone or contrasting. If you choose on monotone, that is using numerous shades of color from the equal color kind, you will accomplish a more peaceful appearance. A monotone topic is frequently used with neutral or earthy colors. A contrasting theme gives a added dramatic look since opposite colors are used. You can make a terrific look with any dark and light color combo since black and white has kind of been overdone. Opposing warm and cool colors are opposing. Opposing warm and cool colors are contrasting.home decoratinghome decoratorsinterior design

Lawn Landscape Design Is More Than Simple Yard Care Posted By: Jeff Halper

It is more about craftsmanship than mowing. The lawn is worked into a unifying fabric of shapes and design that connect the many elements of residential landscape design. Both organic and inorganic forms must be included in this fabric.

The point of lawn landscape design is not to magnify the greenery at the expense of human architecture, but rather to blend green elements with fantastic figures of stone, tile, wood, brick, and gravel. Then, and only then, can we say that the lawn has truly been designed and sculpted into that which we would call a landscape.

Gardens rank among the most important elements of lawn landscape design. Gardens do several things for a yard. They make it look larger, and they make it appear more vibrant than it originally appeared. For one thing, they elevate the visual aspect of otherwise flat terrain.

No matter how large or small the plants in a garden are, they will always appear taller than surrounding grasses and therefore add a new dimension of geometric form, color, and essence to the yard.

Any number of garden designs can be created in a Houston landscape.landscape design

High End Modern Garden Design Creates Movement And Interest Posted By: Jeff Halper

High end modern landscaping adds tremendous value to both residential and commercial locales. What differentiates these landscapes from standard modern and contemporary designs is their very intentional use of geometric shapes, exceptionally high-grade materials, and thoughtful selectivity when it comes to choosing plant species for gardens and ground cover.

Where we see the modern landscape designer seeking to support architecture from a complimentary point of view, the high-end landscape architect strives to create an outdoor world that works as a veritable three-dimensional mirror to the geometry and size of the home, building, or office it surrounds.

In the commercial realm, the clients we work for who require a specific type of exterior presence to create a strong impression of their offerings and value production. Art galleries need landscapes that look like art. Museums must look very sheik in order to emphasize their ability to properly preserve and showcase the rare finds of history contained within their walls.

Colleges need to convey a sense of progress and forward motion, and modern buildings need to set themselves apart as leaders in their industry who always stay at least one step ahead of their competition.Modern Garden Design

A Look At The Advantages Of Marble Tiles For Kitchens And Bathrooms Posted By: Vikram Kumar

If you are redoing a kitchen or bathroom, tiles can be an amazing way to finish off a floor or wall. There are a number of advantages to using tiles and whether they are travertine tiles, marble tiles or tiles made from other materials is up to the individual homeowner. Here is a look at some of the advantages of using tiles in rooms like kitchens and bathrooms.

Tiles, whether they are marble tiles or travertine tiles, are very hard and durable. Most stone tiles are non-porous, that means that water and other liquids cannot get inside the tile and weaken it. Some tiles are harder than others. Even within marble tiles, for example, certain types of marble are harder than others. This can make them more suitable for use on floors and in high traffic areas.

Travertine tiles are quite strong and durable despite being more porous than marble tiles so often travertine tiles are filled. That is, the holes in the stone are filled with a substance that will not allow water or other liquids to get in.travertine tilesmarble tiles

Trident Roofing: Slate For Your Roofs Posted By: paul

Slate is a fine grade metamorphic rock composed of clay or volcanic ash. Slate is one of the finest roofing materials available. It is fireproof, resists hail damage, possesses unquestionable beauty, and often has a service life of 100 years or more. Slate roofing tile has a long and storied history, and is generally known as one of the highest quality, longest lasting roofing materials on the market. On the other hand, the high cost, difficult installation, and relative fragility of slate roofing tile means it's not ideal for everybody. That is why roofing contractors like that of Tridentroofing.com seldom installs it anymore.
Prior to the development of asphalt roofing products, slate was a major player in the roofing products industry. Slate peaked in popularity at the turn of the century. The move away from steep roof slopes and less expensive roofing products have caused the slate roofing industry to shrink to one twentieth of its original size. But for some slate roofing is still a hit because of its aesthetic appeal that is why roofing contractors like trident roofing still offer this materials as an option for their clients.

Homeowners are drawn to slate because of its beauty.trident roofingtridentroofing.com

Preserving Wooden Shingles Posted By: QW HON

Like any other shingles wooden shingles can last you a long time if you take good care of them. They require regular maintenance in order for them to remain in good condition and though they may last for fifteen years or more it's important to replace any that are damaged and make sure you replace any other wood before it becomes irreparable. The sooner you can replace damaged wood on your roof the longer the rest of your roof will last. Of course, this is true with any roof but is especially important when you are using wood for your roofing material.

Although we have gotten away from wooden shingles for roofs many older and preserved homes still use them. In history wood was easy to obtain and fabricate so most homes in the United States were completely of wood compared to slate, thatch and tile in parts of Europe. However, if you want to preserve an older home it's essential to make sure you do it authentically which includes the roof. It would not look authentic if you were to take a home built in the 1800s and use asphalt shingles if the material of the period was wood.roofing styles

Tips For Installing Clay Tile Roofs Posted By: QW HON

Clay tile roofs are quite commonly found in homes with a Spanish design to them. If you are in the market for a new roof but want to add a lot of character to the roof beyond the standard roofing materials, do consider these tiles. They are likely to add to the charm of your home and may even boost the value of it, especially when the tiles are put in place properly and are ideally suited for your space. Keep in mind the following tips when it comes to installing these in your home.

- Do ensure that the clay tile roofs are adequate for the type of climate you live in. They are great for hot weather but may not be ideal for extreme cold. The manufacturer will list any recommendations in terms of limitations.

- Do follow manufacturer's directions when it comes to installation. Most of the clay roofing comes in barrel tiles. These are semi cylindrical tiles that will overlap each other. This creates a series of rows that have rounded profiles to them. It is attractive and installation is generally not difficult.

- Many manufacturers do recommend that a professional roofer install clay tiles.clay tile roof

Are Clay Tile Roofs For You? Posted By: QW HON

Although there are many roofing materials on the market today, some of the most stylish to consider are the clay tile roofs. This style is not something new, though. These tiles have been used in Spanish style homes for hundreds of years. Today, though, there are manufacturers that produce a number of different options in colors and sizes. Plus, the application process is easier. Still, this type of roof can be expensive as compared to other products on the market. Nevertheless, it may be the perfect roof for your home.

One thing to consider when adding clay tile roofs is the actual style and texture of the roof. Does the rest of your home's architecture actually fit with this style of roof? The look of this type of roof does work well in most home designs, but those homes with a Spanish appeal to them will fit better with the clay tile roof.

There are several great benefits to the use of clay tile. For one, it is highly durable. Some manufacturers also claim that these types of roofs are more durable and will last longer than other models on the market that are used more readily.clay roof

How To Install Clay Tile Roofs Posted By: QW HON

Installing clay tile roofs might be a bit more work and even cost a few extra dollars, however the quality and durability pay for the initial outlay. These types of roofs are much better at holding up in the weather elements, and this is especially important in those locations where there is harsh weather. Once the decision has been made to install the clay tiles the homeowner should look at the cities or local government's code to determine if a building permit is needed, even though it is only installing a roof, many require a permit. The next step is of course to visit the home improvement store to purchase the necessary materials.

What Materials and How Much

Most homeowners have trouble determining all the products that are necessary to complete the job. While the home improvement roofing professional can help with the amount of tile shingles, it is important to have an accurate measurement of the roof. This will assist in determining the amount or number of tiles to purchase. Other items that will be needed are galvanized nails, a tile cutting saw, hammer tacker, plywood sheathing, flashing and a pry bar.clay tile roof

Clay tile roofs are not a new idea, as they date back to ancient Roman times; they have made a popular come back. The popularity is not without its reasons though! Not only are the clay tiles durable, they hold up to just about any weather conditions, even prolonged exposure. There are other benefits that leave homeowners making the choice to take the time to compare all roofing options before making a final decision!

Types AND Tile Make Up

There are different styles that homeowners can choose from when looking at clay tile roofs. One of the most popular is the Spanish type, otherwise known as barrels that overlap one another. Everyone has seen these red roofing barrels and how absolutely beautiful they make the entire home, but they are more than just aesthetically pleasing. The way that these tiles are fired is the same as regular ceramic tiles, leaving them sturdy enough to handle the rigorous job of protecting the roof!
