Brazil is the largest country in Latin America and almost covers half of South America. The entire east coast of Brazil is lapped by the Atlantic Ocean. These are just some of the species that can peer through the lens of the binoculars when birding in Brazil.

The script only color of this bird, otherwise the black bag is its intense scarlet throat, and the male inflates like a balloon to attract the female. Women also have dark feathers, but they have a white chest, a brown band on the wings, and a blue circle around the eyes.

An interesting fact about this bird is that even though they eat mainly fish, which have been known to attack other seabirds, forcing the removal of the dam from the mouth and steal for themselves.

Holiday Lifestyle Awaits In South Shields Posted By: David Fisher

If you love the amenities of the big town but like escaping even more, South Shields represents the ideal choice. Being situated just five miles from the metropolis of Newcastle gives residents the chance to hit the city's exciting night life, bustling businesses and plentiful shopping experiences, yet return at the end of the day to this attractive seaside town.

For those who have no urge to follow the River Tyne to Big Sister Ville, South Shields gives every reason to stay. The shopping centre offers all the main name stores and King Street is pedestrianised for shoppers' safety and enjoyment. The town also has its own cinemas and theatres and an abundance of pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as a popular open air market several times a week.

Living In South Shields is like being on holiday all year round. With the decline of the coal mining and ship building industries, residents tend to work in the nearby city or within the numerous service industries that have sprouted around South Shields. One of the thriving economies is now tourism, as visitors and residents alike adore this small seaside town.property real estate estate agents buy house house for sale buy flat business property search to let property mortgage home and garden finance

Make Sure To Go Whale Watching While Visiting Victoria Bc Posted By: Vicky Goche

Victoria BC is a vibrant city to visit! Travelers can stroll the natural scenery of Victoria's Butchart Gardens, adventure travel on the challenging mountain bike trails that span the island, shop Antique Row on Fort Street for rare finds, and see the marvels of Victoria BC's own Chinatown. However, no matter what brings you to Victoria BC, make sure to go whale watching off Vancouver Island if your visit is during the peak whale spotting season of April through October. It is a fascinating site to see a whale surface next to you in the water and hotels in Victoria offer whale watching tour packages that make this once in a lifetime opportunity too hard to pass up.

The reasons Victoria BC is one of the best whale watching places in the world is because many pods of Orca whales seasonally inhabit the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Haro Strait. National Wildlife Refuge provides marine protected areas for the whales and animals like sea lions, seals, seabirds and many others on hundreds of little islands.victoria BC whale watching Victoria BC hotel whale watching Victoria BC

County May Go With Led Streetlights Posted By: alishushu

The county could convert hundreds of streetlights to light-emitting diodes, or LEDs, if the Maui County Council passes a bill to allow the energy-saving fixtures.

An advocate for controlling light pollution on Maui said the bright lights would not necessarily harm wildlife and interfere with astronomical observations, if installed properly. And county Public Works Director David Goode said the change could save the county as much as $1 million a year in energy costs.

"We spend around $2 million a year now to power up our streetlights, and there's new technology available, primarily LED, that has the potential of cutting that in half," he said.

A bill that would allow the county to use LED technology in streetlights will be discussed by the council Infrastructure Management Committee in a meeting at 9 a.m. Monday.

Goode noted that the county's current outdoor lighting standards allow only high-pressure sodium fixtures to be used in streetlights.

"We're currently bound to use only that kind of lighting, even though there's newer technology available," he said.cheap LED bulbs affordable LED lights LEDoption

Explore Hidden Gems Around Bowsden Village Posted By: David Fisher

Situated in the beautiful county of Northumberland, Bowsden is a quaint village within a lovely rural countryside setting with views for miles around. The village is mainly surrounded by farming land and fields as far as the eye can see and small areas of woodland complete this rural idyll.

To the south of the village, just six miles away, is Berwick upon Tweed, a market town steeped in Northumberland history and culture. The village also lies inland off the beautiful North Sea coastline close to Lindisfarne Island, often referred to as Holy Island.

Although the village has retained its quiet charm there are still plenty of amenities and things to do within close distance giving villagers the best of both worlds. The village is small in size with pretty country cottages and farm houses alongside newer buildings, all blending seamlessly together.

The whole area is immersed in history with Roman roots including the Devil's Causeway passing the village just one mile to the east. This Roman Road runs through the county for about fifty five miles up to Berwick upon Tweed from Hadrian's Wall just north of Corbridge.property real estate estate agents buy house house for sale buy flat business

Find Out Some Facts About Magnificent Frigate Birds Posted By: Marina K. Villatoro

Are you searching for the best wildlife adventure in Central America? Why not go visit Costa Rica and get to discover more about the animals that live there and how they survive. One of the most interesting species that you may want consider discovering is the frigate bird. The frigate birds are a family of seabirds and are also called frigate pelicans. It can be found breeding along the Pacific coast of Costa Rica and in the Corcovado National Park.

They are also sometimes called Man of War birds or Pirate birds. They have long wings, tails and bills and the males have a red gular pouch that is inflated during the breeding season to attract a mate. Females are black, but have a white breast and lower neck sides, a brown band on the wings and a blue eye ring.

Due to the fact that these guys lack the ability to take off from water, they snatch prey from the ocean surface or beach using their long, hooked bills. They have been seen catching fish, baby turtles and similar items in this way.frigate bird costa rica wildlife animals costa rica animals of costa rica

25 Almost Guaranteed Wildlife Sightings In Costa Rica Posted By: Marina K. Villatoro

Costa Rica is one of the most bio-diverse places in the world and there is no way that I can name every animal there is. So I decided to do a list of the most representative animals from Costa Rica's Wildlife.

1. Cattle Egret: These animals are commonly found around bodies of water. These are migratory birds known as a cosmopolitan specie of heron.

2. Clay Colored Robins: The Clay-colored Robin is a small common Middle American bird known for "calling the rain". Costa Ricans chose the clay-colored robin as a national symbol due to its strong and melodious song. It is also known as yiguirro.

3. Boa Constrictors: The Boa constrictor is a large, heavy-bodied species of snake that strangles its prey instead of using venom.

4. Deer: White tailed deer are very popular in Central America, in Costa Rica it can be found all over. The White-Tailed Deer is a long-legged, fast-moving mammal and the smallest members of the North American deer family.

5. Squirrel Monkeys: Their full name is black crowned squirrel Monkeys. Unlike the other New World monkeys, their tail is not used for climbing, but as a kind of "balancing pole".

6.rain forest animals costa rica travel animals of the rain forest costa rica wildlife

Wild Snowdonia: Ten Top Spots For Watching Wildlife In Snowdonia Posted By: Steven Jones

The entire Snowdonia region is rich in wildlife; indeed, the Snowdonia National Park boasts more National Nature Reserves than any other UK National Park.

Gorse lines many of Snowdonia's roads and paths, providing an important habitat for birds and insects; birds of prey are often to be seen performing their aerial acrobatics overhead; and the 200-mile coastline is home to a huge variety of wildlife, from molluscs and fish to birds and sea mammals like seals, porpoises and dolphins.

While the entire Snowdonia region is a treat for wildlife watchers, there are several spots that are extra-special, and ideal for getting up close and personal with Snowdonia's wildlife; here are ten of our favourites.

1. Gwaith Powdwr Nature Reserve

At Penrhyndeudraeth, on the Dwyryd Estuary, is the Gwaith Powdwr Nature Reserve - a decommissioned explosives works, donated to the North Wales Wildlife Trust to be managed as a nature reserve. The Reserve's habitats - woodland, scrub, heathland, bare rock and open water - support a wide array of species including polecat, barn owl, the emperor dragonfly and seven species of bat.

Biodegradable And Reusable Shopping Bags Provide Solutions To Plastic Waste Posted By: Art Gib

Since plastic shopping bags were introduced in the 1970s, their negative impact on the environment has increased to alarming proportions. These non-biodegradable plastic bags are dumped into landfills at a rate of a million bags a minute with millions more littering the streets, clogging sewers to result in unnecessary flooding, and polluting oceans and waterways. Requiring hundreds of years to photodegrade, they ultimately end up as bits of toxic waste. Estimates place the damage to sea life from plastic bags and debris at 100,000 marine mammals, 100,000 sea turtles, and over a million seabirds each and every year.

Though plastic shopping bags are arguably the most recycled items known, used for everything from school lunch bags, trash bags, and doggie waste bags, many municipalities throughout the world are placing a significant tax on each bag used or banning them outright. These measures have been successful in dramatically reducing or eliminating their use in those areas that include Ireland, China, Bangladesh, and some areas of the United States. Plastic shopping bags have been replaced with recycled paper bags for customers who don't bring in their own reusable shopping bags.sac ecologique sac reutilisable
