Historical Past Of Varanasi City Posted By: Suhaina Mazhar

Varanasi city is situated around the banks of the Ganges River in the Uttar Pradesh state in India. It's also known as Benaras and the place is well-known for Benaras silk. It is just one of the most ancient cities in India and the excavations at Rajghat show that it was populated in ninth century B.C. The twenty third Tirthankara of Jain Faith was said to have born here in 800 B.C. The Aryans who lived in the location in 2000 B.C. settled around the Ganges valley. The place is important for Hindus, Jains and Buddhists. It is stated that Varanasi stands out as the home of Ayurvedic medication.

You can find a variety of names of Varanasi city. These are Surandhana, Ramya, Mahasmasana, Kasi, Avimuktaka, Brahma Vardha, Kasi and Anandakanana. The 2 tributaries of River Ganges are Varuna and Assi and also the name Varanasi city really should have already been derived the names of those two streams. It had been mentioned within the Rigveda as Kasi that implies the place of brightness.Varanasi Varanasi photos Varanasi videos

History Of Golf And Few Requirements For Playing The Game Posted By: StuartOwen

Golf is considered one of the most interesting games that involve a lot of money in the modern day. Most of these games are played in clubs and the players are members of different clubs. If we are asked about the game, then one of the ways to describe this sport is; Golf is considered one the typical ball games. The player uses a golf stick to hit the ball. These games are generally played on huge grass lands. Unlike any other games golf does not require a standardized field. There are many holes in this land and each hole could just accommodate a ball inside. The player has to strike the ball from the place. The fewer the strikes he takes to insert the ball inside the hole, he is considered the winner of the game. Generally there are nine to twelve holes in a golf court. The player goes to strike the ball crossing each hole. The fastest is declared wins the shield. This place is played individually by a person. This is specifically an outdoor game.Time Warner TV Time Warner Golf

Sai Baba Posted By: mukesh

SAI BABA
Sai Baba

Long time ago, at the beginning of eighteenth century a young bearded man ( Shirdi Sai baba) with sparkling eyes took shelter in a mosque, in Shirdi Village (of Maharshtra State, In India) . Nobody knew from where this stranger had come who hardly spoke a word and stayed there.

Gradually the curious villagers started offering food to the man, but he never asked anything from them. Sometimes he shared his food with the animals. Soon the young fakir, as he was started to be addressed, started expressing his view points with few elderly villagers. His simple language of expresssion and his special power of solving the problems of poor needy and destitutes soon made this less known fakir, known as Shri Sai Baba.

People also realised that this "Baba" was no ordinary person but a person with extraordinary godly powers. Such powers are not known or present in normal human beings. Baba preached his principle of love and faith in humanity to all his disciples.Hotels in shirdi shirdi hotels budget hotels in shordi

Finding Truth In Divided Christendom Posted By: Denny Smith

How can one find and know the truth of Christianity that comes from God in a world that is divided over that truth to the extent that today we have thousands and thousands of denominations because they cannot agree with one another over what that truth is. Many no longer think it is possible to know the truth in any absolute sense. It is just a matter of individual opinion is a common thought. Consequently, it is not unusual to hear sentiments like just as long as you believe in Jesus and are sincere that is all that matters and any church will do, just find the church of your choice.

It is easy enough for the sincere seeker after truth to just throw up his/her hands in despair and give up but the Bible makes it clear that truth can be known and that it does matter what one believes and obeys. Jesus said "to those Jews who believed Him, 'If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.truth Christianity words of Jesus word of God scripture

Can We Trust That The Bible Has The 'right' Books? Posted By: Jo Ann LeQuang

Today, we know that the Bible contains 66 books, 39 Old Testament books and 27 New Testament books. But where did they come from? How do we know that these are the "right" books? Scholars have explored the issue of Biblical canon to help us better understand why certain writing were accepted and other writings excluded. But this is a big question for Christians or other people who want to view the Bible as an authoritative document.

Biblical scholars call this topic "canonicity" or the determination of which books are part of the "canon" of Scripture. The canon is the collection of books recognized as Holy Scripture. The actual word comes from the term for "measuring rod." The canon are the books that are to serve as the "measuring rod" for God's people.

By the time Jesus Christ walked the earth, the 39 books of the Old Testament were widely recognized as Jewish Scripture. Jesus Himself talked about Scripture and the Jewish historian Josephus (who lived approximately the same time as Jesus) mentioned the 39 books as authoritative Jewish Scripture. An official council in Jamnia in the year 90 A.D.Bible Bible study books of the Bible Old Testament New Testament how did we get the Bible books

What Goes Into A Chaplain's Toolbox?
Posted By: DuaneMarchi334

To be a successful chaplain requires acrifice, study, hard work and dedication. All of these qualities are needed to be able to serve your assigned community or congregation. I was not aware of the diversified communities a chaplain functions in. Trying to understand the culture and backgrounds of the community, religious, socio-economic and cultural preferences are so very important.

A good chaplain needs to bond with those he or she serves and ignorance of what makes them tick would be a barrier to accomplish this. I can fully understand now why I need to take the other courses ULC requires to attain the chaplain title.

Another major requirement is for a chaplain to understand exactly what is required of him by the organization that hired him. What job duties are required to be performed, how, when and where, how the function is to be done, whether they are holding services before work hours in the company chapel, for example, or being allowed to counsel employees during lunch hour etc.religion christianity chaplaincy advice education review self-improvement spirituality universal life church spiritual growth

I was not aware of the diversified communities a chaplain functions in. Trying to understand the culture and backgrounds of the community, religious, socio-economic and cultural preferences are so very important.

A chaplain needs to understand at least the very basic concepts of all major religions and their beliefs so they can better minister to the needs of all these divergent communities and not offend anyone, which would be contrary to the purpose of helping others in their time of need. I can fully understand now why I need to take the other courses ULC requires to attain the chaplain title.

A good minister should know who to report to and why, he or she must know the chain of command and protocol of the organization they work for and to realize what is appropriate and what is not. Each organization has it's own culture and tradition and the successful chaplain incorporates all of this in their ministry.religion christianity chaplaincy advice education review self-improvement spirituality universal life church spiritual growth
