Race Night Charity events are quickly becoming one of the most successful and in demand events around and for good reason.

Camel Racing - Enjoy The Action In Abu Dhabi Posted By: Pushpitha Wijesinghe

Underrated and overlooked, Abu Dhabi is one travel destination that rarely gets the recognition it deserves. It is often dismissed as a boring destination, offering very few activities, especially when compared to Dubai, its more glamorous cousin. It is true that the emirate maybe more traditional in certain ways, but it hardly lacks in things to do. There are plenty of tourist spots worth visiting, and plenty of tempting activities to indulge in. As for those who claim that Abu Dhabi is a dry, dusty place, nothing could be further from the truth. Visitors will find there are plenty of parks and gardens, and that for a desert city, Abu Dhabi is surprisingly green.

The city is the largest of all the emirates, and has a distinct Middle Eastern flavour. For foreigners looking for an authentic Arab experience, this is the ideal destination. Tourists can experience delicious local cuisine, take part in desert safaris and even spend a night under the stars in a Bedouin camp. If possible tourists should also try to take part in a camel race.

The UAE actually has a long history of camel racing, and the sport forms an integral part of the Bedouin lifestyle.camel racing activities in abu dhabi abu dhabi hotels

The History Of Paving Posted By: Nicolas DAlleva

It is undeniable that times have changed since the invention of paved roads. No longer were drivers subjected to traveling along bumpy, unfinished roads in cars with no form of suspension. However, many individuals do not understand how the concept of paving roads began, much less how it has developed since its invention.

When the first forms of asphalt were invented, it was rare for commoners to experience such a luxury. Oftentimes, main roads that traveled through towns and neighborhoods of wealthy individuals were the only roads that were paved. Currently, pavement covers approximately ninety-four percent of roads across the United States, including parking lots, interstates, driveways, and racetracks, to name a few.

Although asphalt has always been present in various forms, the history of paving began with its initial use to build roads in 625 B.C. in Babylon! Romans then discovered that asphalt could be used to seal reservoirs and aqueducts, and soon after, Europeans began identifying natural asphalt deposits. Although the use of asphalt was extremely popular throughout many countries, it was not used as a paving resource for many more years.history of paving history of asphalt asphalt pavement

Racing Fans 'clean Up' When It Comes To Tailgating Posted By: Hiteshbhoi

It's time for families to pack up and head over to stadiums, ball fields or racetracks across the country-that's right, it's tailgating season. With NASCAR races in full throttle, fans are shifting into gear for traditional pre- and postrace get-togethers. And everyone knows that racing fans are some of the best and most dedicated tailgaters in the country.

The key to a successful tailgate is not just the fans and a smorgasbord of food, it is the preparation and planning made ahead of time -which is why racing tailgates are often the most successful. Not only do race fans know how to prepare a tailgate-they are also prepared for the all-important cleanup after the checkered flag comes down.

Jeff Gordon, NASCAR driver and four-time Nextel Cup Champion, sees many tailgaters first-hand on a weekly basis: "Our fans are some of the best in the world, and their tailgate setups are unbelievable-they have it down to a science. Sparkle® Paper Towels are a critical part of the tailgating formula when it's time to clean up after the race."

Some tips to ensure your next tailgate is a hit:

AND #8226; Pack your gear the night before the tailgate.<a href="http://www.articlesnatch.com/topic/Racing+Fans+"Clean+Up"+When+It+Comes+To+Tailgating" rel="tag">Racing Fans "Clean Up" When It Comes To Tailgating

The Grand National - Famous Uk Horse Race Posted By: Pippa Brown

The Grand National, known as the world's most famous steeplechase, is probably the most valuable National Hunt horse race in the world. National Hunt horseracing is different to flat racing because the horses are required to jump over thirty obstacles called fences or hurdles and no horse racing event in the UK draws in as many spectators and punters as The Grand National. In some people's opinion, the fences or hurdles used in these types of event have given European racing a considerable advantage over American horse racing as during the race the endurance of the horse and the skill and stamina of the rider are really put to the ultimate test.

Over the years, owing to the considerable number of injuries to both horses and riders, most of which have been severe, some even fatal, The Grand National has become the UK's most criticised and controversial horse racing calendar fixture. The Grand National famous UK horse race UK famous horse race horserace horseracing Grand National horse racing collectables horse racing collectibles

A Brief History Of Horse Racing In The Uk Posted By: Pippa Brown

It is thought that the first horse races in Britain took place around 200 A.D. and were organized by Roman soldiers in the Yorkshire area. The first recorded race meeting, which was a four mile race, took place long after that during the reign of King Henry II (1154 - 1189). All of today's Thoroughbred race horses can be traced back to three stallions from the Middle East, Byerly Turk, Darley Arabian and Goldophin Arabian, that were imported into England between the 1680's and 1720's.

During the 17th century, Newmarket in Cambridgeshire became the home of British horse racing. King James I introduced the sport there in 1605 and in 1634 the first ever Gold Cup race meeting was held. Horse racing was briefly banned by Oliver Cromwell in the 1650's, but became very popular again when King Charles II was reinstated as the King of England and also because of his introduction of the prize, the Newmarket Town Plate in 1664.horse racing collectables horse racing collectibles horse racing books history of horse racing horse racing gifts horse racing pictures horse racing m

Henry Cecil - Champion Uk Race Horse Trainer Posted By: Pippa Brown

Sir Henry Richard Amherst Cecil was born on the 11th January 1943 in Aberdeen in Scotland. He is a very successful English race horse trainer and is the stepson of the former champion race horse trainer, Sir Cecil Boyd-Rochford. Henry Cecil was a twin but unfortunately his brother David died in 2000.

Henry Cecil worked as an assistant trainer to his step-father from 1964 to 1968, and since taking out his own license in 1969, he has enjoyed the most wonderful career. His first winner was a horse called Celestial Cloud at Ripon and since then he has created, what is considered, the most productive racing stable in the whole of England, being particularly well-known for his success with fillies. He has become an absolute legend in the horse racing world and many of the most successful UK jockeys have ridden for him, including Joe Mercer, Lester Piggott, Steve Cauthen, Pat Eddery and Kieren Fallon. Ben Cecil, Henry Cecil's nephew is also an extremely successful trainer in the USA, so clearly training race horses runs in the Cecil family!Henry Cecil UK race horse trainer UK race horse trainers famous UK race horse trainers race horse trainers UK

Uk Horse Racing Legends: Champion Jockey - Joe Mercer Posted By: Pippa Brown

Joseph Mercer (nickname 'Smokin. Joe') was born on 25th October in Bradford, Yorkshire in the UK. He started his career as a Thoroughbred race horse jockey in 1947 and rode a total of 2,810 winners in Britain, a number only exceeded by Sir Gordon Richards, Lester Piggot and Douglas Smith at the time of Joseph's retirement, as a jockey, in 1985. Subsequently, in later years, this amount of wins was beaten by Pat Eddery and Willie Carson. Whilst still apprenticed to trainer Frederick Sneyd, Joe Mercer won his first British Classic race on a horse called 'Ambiguity' in the 1953 Epson Oaks and achieved the accolade of being British Flat Racing Champion Apprentice twice, in 1952 and 1953.

As time went on, he worked as a stable jockey for trainers, Jack Colling, Dick Hern, Henry Cecil and Peter Walwyn and during his time at Henry Cecil's yard he won the British flat racing Champion Jockey's title in 1979. 'Brigadier Gerard' was the most successful horse he rode during his career and won 17 out of 18 races on this horse between 1970 and 1972.horse racing collectables horse racing gifts horse racing memorabilia horse racing books horse racing biographies UK horse racing jockeys Joe Mercer c

Basic Safety Gears ' Posted By: kartwear

Kartwear: One thing that is pretty much the same everywhere is what is basically required to race. Even though, karting all over the world has many many standards and there are some important requirements are used. The Kart Gear is basically the safety gear required for karting. They are promoted as the life safeguards.
Suits
Some smaller racetracks may just require long sleeve shirts or something like that but that is rare, and besides, you should want to be as safe as possible. So you probably want to invest into a nice jacket or suit to avoid burns from the engine, or scrapes if you flip an open kart over. Thus at the very least, most places require a kart jacket, but some places may require a kart suit.
Helmet
The Helmet is said to be the important requirement in all types of safety games. To race, the biggest thing is a good Kart Helmet. Nowadays, most of the risky and safeguarding places requires a helmet. And most of them require a certification rating by Snell, SFI. Snell and SFI are a whole another thing you should notice upon.professional racewear kartwear karting equipment milton keynes rooksley daytona motorsports kit equipment apparel suit gear online store r

Why Should Cyclists Enjoy Texas? Posted By: Andrew Scherer

If only Dr.Ellie Richard could see how far did his invention go, surely he would not regret why did he device the predecessor of the modern bike. What started as massive four-wheeled wagon that was driven by two persons, ended up as small, light and two-wheeled vehicle. Other than that, the bicycle has turned out to be a part of one of the most well-loved outdoor activities of men and women, alike.

With out the invention of bicycles, cycling would not have been introduced towards the folks. After a couple of centuries, lastly, the bicycle that's pneumatic, secure and quick was born, and since then, cycling clubs have sprouted like mushrooms.

When modern bicycle was invented, many Americans have become fans of cycling; thus, they urged the Congress for better race tracks. The frenzy for the sport has continued until today, and Texas is one of the areas where cyclists found the paradise.

Because of the picturesque and well cared for racetracks, perfect terrains and wide array of outdoor activities from which to select, Austin, Texas has become the perfect sanctuary for cyclists.Texas Bike Rides Texas Bicycle Rides

Comparison Between The Nitro Rc Trucks And Real Cars Posted By: Brian

This article is a good read about the nitro RC trucks for those who have no idea what these little cars are all about. To start with, these trucks are not really real trucks. They are small trucks, like toy cars and toy trucks are. They are being played by little boys, big boys and even older boys. Some girls play them too, but not as many as boys do.

They may be small but they are powered by electric motors that operate as real trucks could. These RC toys are being raced and showed off. People who usually do this are those who actually have the hobby with this kind of machine. Usually the hobby-grade nitro RC trucks are of electric models, nitro-powered and gasoline powered. Imagine a toy car being re-charged like the modern electric cars used today or being gassed-up in order for it to run, amazing!

The RC toy enthusiasts are always up for the development of their RC machines. They would even buy accessories that are being attached to the toy to make it attractive or make it run faster and even do tricks like real cars and trucks do with back-flips and all.Nitro RC Trucks Nitro RC Cars Electric RC Cars

George Freeman: Australian Racing Identity Posted By: K Cummings

George David Freeman was a controversial figure in Australian horse racing history. He was a gambler and racing commission agent born to a builders' assistant in Annandale, Sydney on 22nd January 1935. His father, William David Freeman left the family when George was young while his mother remarried a criminal. However, it was a brief one since his step-father died soon after. A struggling childhood in a two-bedroom slum forced George into a life of crime, with his first incarceration as a 12 year old for stealing.

At the age of 14, he became a stable boy while his criminal ways continued with separate convictions for car theft and a smash-and-grab raid. For this he was remanded to the Mount Penang Training School, Gosford, and then on to the Tamworth Boys' Home due to constant misbehaviour. After his release in January 1953, Freeman was back in the Parramatta jail for stealing once again in 1954, where he met his childhood hero, Darcy Dugan, a notorious prison escapee. Several jail terms followed for petty theft. The last time Freeman saw prison guards was in 1968, in Fremantle, Western Australia. In between, he married a divorcee, Marcia Bedford in 1963 in Sydney.George Freeman Sydney Underworld Sp bookmakers bookmaker horse racing tips horse racing
