Venice Tourist Sites - The Castello And Sant' Elana Neighborhoods Posted By: Levi Reiss

Castello is the biggest of Venice's districts, locally known as sestiere. It's in the east end of Venice and, unlike some sestiere, people actually live there. A major feature is the Riva degli Schiavoni, a stone boardwalk running east from the Ducal Palace (in the San Marco district.) This lovely boardwalk owes its name to Slavic fishermen who worked this area in medieval times. Don't miss the Fifteenth Century Santa Maria della Visitazione Church often called La Pieta, rebuilt some two centuries later. Crane your neck to see some excellent frescoes that decorate the ceiling. Vivaldi was concertmaster here, so the church sometimes serves as a concert hall. When you realize that the Ponte dei Sospiri (Bridge of Sighs) that crosses the Rio di Palazzo connects the Doges' Palace with the prisons across the river, you'll know where it gets its Seventeenth Century name. Slightly to the south you'll find the Ponte della Paglia.

The Museo Storico Navale of Venice is Italy's most important naval museum. It is situated in a Sixteenth Century barn. If you have any interest whatsoever in naval history plan to spend a lot of time at this excellent museum.Italian tourism attractions sites sightseeing attractions churches neighborhood wine Venice

Try A Grand Canyon Chopper Bottom-landing Trip From Las Vegas, Nv Posted By: Belinda Childress

Believe the Grand Canyon is magnificent from the top? Hold back until you take a helicopter trip to the bottom. Nothing beats the vistas from the canyon's floor, particularly the one in which you have the Colorado River roaring behind you!

In the tour business, these are called "bottom-landing" tours, and they are available from Vegas since the West Rim, also known as West Rim of the Grand Canyon, is the only location in the entire Park where they are permitted.

Flight time from the Vegas metro zone to the canyon is a quick, fascinating 45 minutes. The typical route takes you over Lake Mead, the biggest man-made reservoir in the US, as well as the Hoover Dam, one of the West's most renowned landmarks.

You're officially in canyon country once you drop in over the majestic Grand Cliffs Wash. From here, you'll fly over the churning Colorado River as you make the 4,000-foot descent to the bottom. My first impression of life below the rim is how pre-historic it all is.

Helis land on makeshift dirt landing pads next to the Colorado River.travel vacations holidays sightseeing flights

Comparing Las Vegas, Nv, Airplane Excursions To West Rim Of The Grand Canyon Posted By: Luke Plunket

Best outdoor excursion whilst touring Sin City? Try a Sin City plane to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon. These types of flights are quick, cozy and fun. Trips run the gamut. Those that make the difference are the landing trips. Here's a quick write-up that exhibits the best in class.

I've flown all of them as well as the following are best in terms of safety, experience as well as value:

Basic plane landing journey. Lands at West Rim airfield. Comes with 2.5 hours to explore top of West Rim. Consists of full-access to Park and use of its shuttle bus service to Guano Point, the area's top lookout, and also the Indian Cultural Center.

Aircraft landing tour with Grand Canyon Skywalk. Acquire VIP access to the Grand Canyon Glass Observation Desk, the glass bridge that permits you to stroll 70 feet past the edge as the base lies 4,000 feet below. Consists of a few hours to check out all points of interest at the top of the rim.

Plane, heli and Boat landing journey. My favorite air-tour package. Deplane at West Rim.travel vacation holidays destinations leisure

Superstitions & Myths - A Sailors Guide Posted By: Simon White

Right - you're on your way to your mooring, on the 2nd Monday in August, to spend a relaxing weekend on the water, away from the trials and tribulations of modern life. On your way down the pontoon you pass a red headed man with flat feet and on looking closer you notice that he is throwing stones into the water. You step carefully onto your boat with your left foot, only to notice a stranger on board, who turns out to be a priest, eating a banana. What do you do? Go straight back home and have a quiet weekend in the garden instead!

Since the first man built a simple boat and set out over the water, a vast series of myths and superstitions have developed. Even though modern techniques and vessels have changed out of all recognition since those early days, there are still those, who work and play at sea, who even now pay homage to superstitions whose origins have probably disappeared into the mists of time.

Here are a few of the superstitions I have unearthed.Sailing Yacht Water Myths Superstitions Stories Sea

Picking Out The Ultimate Fishing Boat Posted By: Hiteshbhoi

You and your family are heading out early in the morning for a day of fishing in your brand new fishing boat. You hit that highway that leads to the lake, excited voices echoing throughout your SUV. Your wife and kids are just as delighted with the new boat as you are and are discussing the whopper they hope to catch. You arrive at the lake, launch the runabout that contains the entire family's fishing gear and in no time at all, you are skimming across the water, every family member safely encased in a lifejacket. You just know that this is going to be a great family outing and everyone loves the new fishing boat.

A fishing boat can be anything between a canoe where you dangle basic bait over the side in a river or stream to a powerful cabin cruiser or yacht. Basically, all you need to get out onto the water is a vessel that is seaworthy. There are a large variety of fishing boats available on today's market. You can buy them at boat shows, fishing shows or dealerships. Let's look at some different types of fishing boats.fishing

Everlasting Marks Posted By: Robert Scott Lawrence

My idea of a perfect product is one that satisfies a need, and that never has to be replaced. Sounds simple, doesn't it?

In theory, this is how it works.

You get married, once, to someone you love. You're still together for your golden anniversary and looking forward to platinum.

You buy your dream house, and keep it forever. The kids will always have their rooms, and won't have to Google you when they get back from Spain and discover that you moved to Connecticut.

You furnish your home with things you actually like. For a year all you had in your house was an antique bed and a side table, but then you splashed out and filled the rest of the house with items that don't need to be upgraded. You couldn't afford it at the time, but you did it anyway, on the theory that it's cheaper to buy what you want once than it is to keep upgrading every few years. Now you have your partners' desk from 1889, a Tiffany lamp you found at an estate sale, and paintings from local artists who you've met and whose work you admire.copyright trademark trade secret intellectual property

The Dangers Of Not Having A Ladder On Your Pontoon Boat Posted By: Zach Winsett

Are you an avid fisherman that enjoys taking a nice boat trip on your favorite lake and catching big fish? Perhaps you just want to enjoy a nice sunny weekend with friends and family out on your pontoon? Both of these are perfectly good reasons as to why you should consider owning a pontoon boat ladder. This ladder provides a luxury that can only be described as essential to have on your boat.

First, let's talk about what pontoon boat ladders actually do. These ladders allow the patrons on your boat to climb up and down from the bottom deck to the top deck and vice versa. This is a necessity as all pontoon boats have an upper deck that can be used to fish off of, tanning, or just lounging around. Without this ladder your guests wouldn't be able to climb from the bottom to the top floor. Also you can purchase ladders that allow your guests to climb safely off of the side of the boat into the water to swim.pontoon boat ladders
