The Effortless Style Of The Kimono Dress Look Posted By: Jamie Simpson

Nothing conveys Eastern flair as simply and elegantly as a kimono-style jacket or dress. Adorned with butterflies, blossoms, or bamboo, these garments are the perfect marriage between modern and classic designs. The beauty of a kimono-inspired design can be found in the loose, flowing sleeves and the bold colours of Asian motifs, which work perfectly with the summertime aesthetic.

The kimono as we know it today has barely changed since fifteenth century Japan. Originally inspired by Chinese fashion, traditional kimono dresses are made up of a large-sleeved robe, which is tied by a wide belt called an obi. The formality of the kimono ranges from lighter, simpler summer kimonos to heavy, ornate kimono used for special occasions. Silk is the preferred fabric for a kimono, although contemporary designs are often made from cotton or synthetic fabrics. The kimono is traditionally worn so that feminine curves are minimized; a straight, narrow appearance is ideal. The obi can be tied in various intricate ways, which can make dressing in a kimono very difficult for the uninitiated. Although appearing simple, a kimono dress is a very complicated affair, consisting of many different coordinating pieces and layers to look perfect.kimono dresses shopping fashion

Livermore Alert Aug - Two Students Earn Their Next Rank Posted By: bestfreekarate

Yes congratulations to Ricky and Ben. They have worked several months, and worked really hard to pass their test for their Yellow belt, Rokkyu.
Belts in martial arts usually go from light to dark. This supposedly came from the fact that originally all belts were only white"and as the student progressed working outside in the dirt their belt became darker and darker with dirt and dust. Finally the belt would actually start to rip apart from age and underneath was a white cotton inside that would show through. Interestingly enough, only true Japanese belts which are called Obi's in the native language are white on the inside. Korean belts are filled with green cotton"don't know why"do you ?

Now days this is represented by belts that go from lighter to darker. Usually in six steps. In our system the belts are white, yellow (some schools substitute blue here), then green, brown (which has three degrees) and then black. In Japanese the names of the ranks are rokkyu, gokyu, yonkyu, sankyu, nikkyu and ikkyu,.martial arts Livermore sixth degree black belt

An Introduction To Kimonos Posted By: Chang Frappang

Every culture has specific dresses that are the representation of the culture and they are a part of the heritage. The people of the heritage relate to the dress and they relate to their heritage counterparts through the dress. There are some styles and dresses that despite being a distinctive part of a culture still end up being very popular and widely accepted globally.

Kimono is a very distinct and beautiful dress that is the trademark and symbol of pride for the Japanese culture. They are ethnic yet so stylish that they have made quite a mark on the world fashion scene. They have been used as inspiration for a lot of fashion developments and yet they are the most beautiful and in their element in their natural best.

The kimono is the traditional dress of the Japanese and it literally means a thing to wear. The literal meaning of the word does not take away from the romance and the attractiveness of the picture that the mind conjures when they hear this word. The kimonos have originated in Japan and therefore their designs have the basic elements of the Japanese culture and symbols.kimono japanese kimono geisha kimono

How To Wear Women's Belts Posted By: Mithran

Women's belts are an easy way to rejuvenate any outfit. Fashion's most loved man, Tim Gunn, believes that belts are a fantastic way to emphasize one's silhouette and take any outfit from frumpy to fabulous. Belts are not just a way for you to hold up your pants. There are several different types of belts and different ways to wear belts. Following these guidelines will always keep you fashion forward and looking your best.

Belt Sizes

Wide, skinny, thick, and thin. No, we're not referring to the vast differences of women's shapes (we'll talk about that topic in a minute). Belts come in a variety of sizes, and it's up to you to decide which type of belt you prefer. Both wide and skinny belts have been very popular over the past several years, and they don't look like they are going out of style any time soon. These belts are available to fit a variety of budgets; low budget retailers such as Forever 21 and Claire's offer whimsical trendy belts under $20. If you plan to go bold, go wide. If you're goal is to channel a demure classic look, wear a thin skinny belt.sash obi belt d-ring belt cardigan women's belts
