Alternative Cancer Treatments - Yoga Posted By: Paula Jimenez

Yoga is known as a physical, mental and spiritual discipline which started in India. According to the definition in Wikipedia, the person who practices yoga works to attain the state of having a perfect spiritual insight and tranquility while they are meditating on the Supersoul.

How and when did Yoga started?

Nobody can tell when Yoga started, but it's certain that Yoga is literally written in history. People discovered numerous stone carvings in the Indus Valley that was roughly 5000 years old. The stones contain the figures of Yoga positions that were drawn on the discovered stones.

The tradition of Yoga has always been handed down individually from many teachers to their students engaging in practical demonstrations. The formal techniques that are now being applied by many students are believed to be a collection of experiences by many individuals in the past.

The eight well known steps of classical yoga are the following:

1. Yama which means restraint, to refrain from violence, lying, stealing, and the likes.

2. Niyama is observance

3. Asana is physical exercises

4. Pranayama is a breathing method

Yoga In Practice - Sustain Your Level Of Inspiration Posted By: Paul M. Jerard Jr.

How can Yoga help people live inspired lives? Yoga is perceived by many to be a physical exercise system, only. Some Yoga classes teach nothing about the eight limbs of Yoga. The entire practice may be devoted to posturing only. How can a practitioner, with only a taste of Yoga, learn about the deeper aspects and benefits of this practice?

Here is how Yoga inspires the mind, body, and spirit. Many people see inspiration as a form of motivation. Inspiration is much different from motivation. Motivation (positive energy) is the fuel that encourages people to get out of bed every morning. Inspiration is a sustained, and controlled level, of motivation. More to the point - inspiration is the arousal of the mind, due to higher levels of motivation and creativity.

Yoga practitioners learn to create higher levels of motivation, and creativity, at will. Thus, there is a steady supply of fuel for inspiration, through regular Yoga practice. For most people, it is a puzzle to maintain higher levels of positive energy.

Hatha Yoga teachers, and students, create a perpetual source of positive energy through the daily practice of meditation, pranayama, asana, niyama, and yama.eight limbs of yoga hatha yoga teachers yama and niyama yoga in practice yoga inspires yoga practice yoga sutras yoga teacher yogic lifestyle

The Legend Of Yoga Posted By: Roberto Sedycias

Many poses of yoga are specially meant to relieve certain pains and make you feel an effect in a certain area of your body. The art of yoga seeks to find that area and designate all your inner energies on it so that you can control yourself and focus yourself on that spot and bring all your energy there. Yoga also seeks to help with your breathing. In fact, much of yoga depends upon the power of your mind having an influence over your body. For example, in Raja yoga, there are eight principles that are applied to every exercise, such as Yama, being the five abstentions from lying, violence, possessiveness and others.

Then, Niyama is the observances of purity, contentment, austerity, study, and surrender to god, and Asana refers to the seated position that is specially reserved for meditation purposes. Then, Pranayama is the suspended breath one that refers to controlling your personal life force.yoga fitness

Four Foundational Qualities Of Hatha Yoga Teachers Posted By: Paul M. Jerard Jr.

When considering a Yoga teacher training program, an intern should consider the value of pre-existing training, knowledge, and experience. The fundamentals of Yoga are treasures to be enjoyed. All too often, we miss the finer points of life, by rushing through it. The following are four qualities that will help each intern throughout the training process.

1. Enjoy Your Time: Foundational training and research is a must before entering into the Yoga certification process. Learning the basics of Yoga should not be a race. Why rush? Each aspect of Yoga is like a flower. Stop and smell the flowers - one at a time.

If learning terminology becomes a pressure situation, take your time with it. You can easily spend time learning under the guidance of a competent teacher, take an introductory course, and develop a solid foundation. You should read classical texts, which explain the many facets of Yoga.

The Hatha Yoga Pradipika, the Gheranda Samhita, the Yoga Sutras, and the Shiva Samhita would be a good start. Knowing who wrote the Yoga Sutras, and what the Eight Limbs of Yoga are, is basic material teacher interns should research while building their foundational knowledge.Hatha Yoga Pradipika Shiva Samhita Yoga Sutras yoga certification yoga certification process Yoga Teacher Training yoga teacher training program

The Yogic Path - Truth And Inner Vision Posted By: Paul M. Jerard Jr.

One, who studies Yoga, is traveling down the Yogic path, but where is he or she going? What is truth, and how can Yoga help us find it? Will the eight limbs of Yoga, described by Maharishi Patanjali, reveal the true path? How can inner vision help us as we continue to practice Yoga? Let's examine these questions, and dig deeper, as we continue to study Yoga.

When one travels the Yogic path, where is he or she going? Yoga is made up of many components. An exceptionally flexible person may visit one Hatha Yoga class. After one class, he or she may leave bored and go back to dance or gymnastics. This happens every day because some people view all forms of Yoga as an exercise in physical mastery.

If you have a purely physical goal, why would you want to open your mind toward mental, emotional, and spiritual health? To the long-term practitioner, the Yogic path is not one single streamlined highway. Yoga has many paths, styles, and forms. To every practitioner, Yoga is a quest for improved well-being.can yoga help Maharishi Patanjali studies yoga the yogic path yoga as an exercise yogic path yogic way

Top 5 Myths About Yoga Posted By: Writers Room

Still nowadays there are many myths concerning Yoga. Here are some of them:

? Yoga suggests that yoga postures This can be probably the largest myth regarding yoga. Postures, though important is simply one in all the limbs of yoga. Other limbs are like Yama, Niyama, Pranayama and Meditation are after all more important. Postures keep you physically match but yoga is abundant additional than postures. Some yoga academics are to be blamed for this belief. To impress their students they demonstrate "extreme" postures and tell that one should attempt to realize these postures. In his Yoga Sutrats, Patanjali says-"Any cause that keeps you steady and in comfortable condition is Asana". The most aim of asana is to be ready to take a seat in meditative condition for long hours and to stay body healthy.

? Yoga is to be practiced by a particular faith It is a fact that origin of yoga is in Indian civilization. But, no where within the yogic texts it is mentioned that they're to be practiced only by Hindus.Yoga

Yoga Tourism Posted By: newagephilosopher

Yoga Therapy has been hailed the world over. Yuj means to unite and Yoga is Union with the Absolute Being.

Yoga is the Science of Man !

Know then thyself, presume not God to scan
The proper study of Mankind is Man !
Placed in the isthmus of a middle state
A being rudely great
With too much knowledge for the skeptic's side
And too many weaknesses for the Stoic's pride
He hangs between !

Yoga is a systematic study of man in his threefold aspect, as Mind, Body and Self. It is the Arts Artium or the Art of all arts and the
Scientia Scientiarum, the science of all sciences. It is based on hoary Indian wisdom and culture and is the art of living a
healthy, contented, balanced and peaceful life.

The Eightfold Path of Yoga is

Yama Conditional personal and social behaviour, according to Yogic Law
Niyama Attitutue under Yoga norms
Asana Physical Body discipline
Pranayama Breath Control
Pratyahara Senses control
Dharana Concentration
Dhyana Meditation
Samadhi Transcendental Consciousness

The first five are called Hatha Yoga, as it is culturing the physique. The last three are called Raja or Regal Yoga, as it deals with the culturing
of the psyche.astrology and love astrology chart astrology software astrology vedic astrology programs horoscope and astrology astrology and horoscope birth

Yoga, Asana's, Karma - What Does It All Mean? Posted By: Anadi Taylor

Yoga is an ancient tradition, about 3000 years old, used to create a balance in the body through developing physical strength and flexibility. This is done by holding postures known as Asana's, each of which has specific benefits. The postures can be done quickly in succession, creating heat in the body through movement (vinyasa-style yoga) or more slowly to increase stamina and perfect the alignment of the posture. The postures are a constant, but the approach to them varies depending on the tradition in which the teacher has trained.

The word Yoga means "union" in Sanskrit, the language of ancient India where Yoga originated. We can think of the union occurring between the mind, body and spirit. This allows us to achieve a happy, balanced and useful life.

In India Yoga is considered one of the six branches of classical philosophy and is referred to throughout the Vedas, ancient Indian scriptures and amongst the oldest texts in existence.yoga tai chi asana mantra hatha kundalini shakti karma chakras yoga postures

Ashtanga Yoga - Is It Right For You? Posted By: Alex Smith

Ashtanga Yoga is the type of yoga which was urbanized and founded by K. Pattabhi Jois. This kind of yoga is known as the Eight Limb Yoga which has revolved in Pattanjali's massive idea. It presented that the path of purification is made up of the eight spiritual practices.

The first four limbs that represent Ashtanga Yoga are - yama, niyama, Asana and the Pranayama. These are considered cleansing practices which are externally correctable. The other set of limbs which are the - pratyahara, dhyana, dharana are the internal practices.

These limbs can only be corrected by the appropriate application of the Ashtanga Yoga method. This type of yoga method is quite dangerous to the mind.

K. Pattabhi Jois said that practicing these Eight Limbs and also its sub-limbs of the external practices which include the niyama and yama is not possible. In doing so, the body should be strong enough so that it can perform the practices. If the body is weak, and the sense organs are not functioning well, practicing will never be useful to the person at all.
