Recliner Lift Chairs - Their Variations & Functions Posted By: Christoffer X Altesino

Recliner lift chairs are a group of chairs in the lift chair family. The chairs are equipped with a powered system to lift and can hence push the chair from its basal position upwards, thus enabling the user to come up to a standing posture. Apart from the lifting mechanism, a recliner lift chair is also capable of flattening out or reclining up to certain angles, which gives the user more comfortable positions to rest or sleep. Such chairs are especially beneficial to the aged people, those suffering from infirmity or the people with disability providing greater comfort and flexibility. The chairs start relatively cheap, but more sophisticated features invariably involve bigger price tags.

Most recliner lift chairs have a capacity to handle weights up to 450 pounds. Some can even carry load of up to 700 pounds. Prices start around $400 in the USA and can even exceed $2000 for a state-of-the art leather luxury chair. Chief manufacturers are Pride Mobility, Golden Technologies, Medlift, Action Lift Chair (ALC, Inc), etc.

Recliner lift chairs come in several varieties. A chair having dual positions has a lifted position and a slightly reclined "TV" position for reading, relaxing or watching television.elderly care home care lift chairs Recliner Lift Chairs

Lift chairs can be a boon for those who suffer from mobility issues such as obesity, Lou Gehrig disease, arthritis etc. Typically, lift chairs resemble standard reclining chairs. However, with the ability to rise to comfortable positions, people can get out from the seat easily. With a multitude of fabrics and colors available as well as add-on features like massage and heat facilities, choosing the appropriate lift chair can be a tough experience. Here are some ways to select the best one for yourself.

Weight Capacity: Typical lift chairs have been designed for people of height 5 feet 4 inches to around 6 feet tall. Their weight should ideally be less than 375 pounds but there are larger sizes available as well, which are designed for those above 6 feet height and weighing more than 375 pounds. All these larger versions have a upper weight limit of 600 or 700 pounds.

Type of fabric: These days, lift chairs are made up of a variety of fabrics. Most are manufactured using cloth fabrics with additional padding for extra cushioning effect.
Who Should Use A Lift Chair And Why? Posted By: Randy McIntire

Lift chairs are manufactured to make the course of sitting and standing easier. Generally, these chairs are designed for individuals with limited mobility problems, back problems, arthritis or injuries. Lift chairs move from a normal position to a upright standing position to aid the person to stand. Lift chairs generally reduce the strain on the back and legs, which is very beneficial for individuals recuperating from surgery.

These chairs are generally designed for the elderly as well. It is not surprising that people with old age move a little slower. Moreover, they are more prone to a variety of diseases such as arthritis. With mobility related disorders, old people will have difficulty doing different tasks, including sitting and standing. In addition, arthritis is also known as a joint disorder, which makes bending very painful. More often, the pain is magnified after a long period of immobility. Thus, even sitting and watching TV for a long time can cause joint discomfort if an old person tries to stand up.

To address this issue, lift chairs are engineered to give assistance to the elderly suffering from any kind of disorders. Thischair is one of the most commonly used lifting aids.lift chair lift chairs lift chair recliner lift chair prices lift recliners liftchairs

With the present time's technologies, there are some valuable aids that can really assist us with our aging. It is undeniable that we can never win the battle against the invincible time, but somehow we can do something about delaying its effects.

A great and perfect instance of such innovation is the lift chair. These chairs can do a lot more than you may think. With the lift chair at the elder's grasp, he or she is able to rise up on their own, and not needing any assistance and aid from others.
Lift Chair Features That Are Important To You Posted By: Randy McIntire

Lift chairs are engineered as a lifting aid for seniors and those with some health issues. They are packed with different features that may resemble a recliner. Lift chairs recline on several positions with only a click on a button. Some of these chairs move from a standard position to standing position. On the other hand, some can be reclined into any angle. The reclining feature is to help individuals enjoy watching TV, reading books, sitting and snoozing. Some models have a reclining level that can go nearly horizontal. They can also be made as a napping bed.

Most lift chairs are also designed with massage or vibration settings. The blood won't circulate properly if the person sits for a long period of time. If this condition happens, the person may suffer from fatigue and pain. It is essential to keep the blood moving even while sitting. With a lift chair's massage or vibration setting, blood circulation is stimulated in the entire body to give more comfort to the user. In addition, the massage setting can stimulate tired muscles.

Another feature that makes it so great is its heat setting.lift chair lift chairs lift chair recliner lift chair prices lift recliners liftchairs

Different Kinds Of Lift Chairs Posted By: Simon Stezer

In many instances, the task of standing and sitting is something that is done countless times throughout the day, often without much thought. However, for seniors and others who are mobility challenged, this task is not so easy. This is why many seniors turn to lift chairs when they have difficulty standing or sitting.

Lift chairs are used as a lifting aid by many seniors and look similar to a high end recliner. Modern lift chairs are, however, much easier to use than a recliner, because the chair is controlled electronically. This means that the backrest can be lowered by simply pushing a button, allowing that perfect position to be found with little trouble. This is not the only difference though, because lift chairs also contain a lifting system in the base, which causes the chair to rise slowly into the air.

The two major manufacturers of lift chairs are Golden Technologies and Pride Mobility. Both of these companies have over twenty years experience and offer a number of different lift chair models and designs. Some of these look exactly like a traditional recliner, while others take a more classic or modern approach.lift chairs lift chair recliner seniors aging health

Lift Chairs Explained And Described Posted By: Ralph Nindly

In a number of instances, standing up and sitting down is rated as the task most difficult for a senior. There are number of reasons this can occur, such as arthritis, but no matter what the reasons, not being able to stand unassisted is something very difficult and has a big impact on ones life. Finding a way to address this problem in a cost effective and easy method is imperative, which is why lift chairs are so popular.

Lift chairs are a special type of mobility lifting aid that has been around since the early eighties. These devices look, in some cases, similar to a traditional recliner, but they offer increased functionality that no traditional recliner offers. In the base of the lift chair, a strong lifting system is installed. This lifting system raises the chair and its occupant up into the air, but in a very slow and controlled manner. When the chair has been fully raised, it is possible for the occupant to exit on their feet.

Not only do lift chairs offer an electrically powered lifting system, but the footrest and backrest can also be controlled electronically.lift chairs lift chair liftchairs liftchair seniors falling safety

Understanding Home Lift Chairs Posted By: Ralph Nindly

In a number of cases, the task of standing up is often very difficult for seniors, especially when they have been sitting for some time. This is in many cases as a result of disorders like arthritis, although there are man other conditions and instances that can make standing or sitting a much more difficult task. One way that these issues are addressed is by using a lift chair.

A lift chair is a special type of sitting chair that has been designed to help make standing and sitting easier. These chairs come in a variety of styles, but they most often look like a regular high-end recliner. They are of course much different, because unlike lift chairs, a regular recliner does not make standing easier.

To aid in the process of standing or sitting, a special lifting system is installed in the chair's base. This lifting system is used to raise the chair up and when the chair has been fully raised, it is possible to get out of the chair easily and in a position that is almost standing. The lifting system is controlled electronically, as is the backrest and footrest.lift chairs lift chair liftchairs liftchair seniors falling safety

Lifting Aids For The Living Room And Bathroom Posted By: David Duknan

Seniors often find that standing and sitting becomes more difficult with age. Often it is something that can not be done safety without assistance. Around the home, there are a number of areas that can present a difficulty to a mobility challenged individual, but luckily there are several mobility lifting aids available to help make this task easier.

The bathroom is one area that presents several hurdles to a senior. Frequently, one of the most difficult tasks is to get out of the bathtub. It can be very hard to bend down low enough to get into or out of the bathtub safely. When you consider all of the hard and slippery surfaces in the bathroom, it is no wonder that so many accidents happen here.

To improve the safety of a bathtub, many people use bath lifts. Bath lifts are installed on the inside of a bathtub and help raise and lower an individual into the tub. The most common kind uses a plastic chair, which depending on the model may recline. There are, however, models available that provide an air filled inflatable plastic cushion instead, which makes it a good choice for traveling.lift chairs seniors bath lifts bath lift toilet seat lifts

Mobility Lifting Aids For The Home Posted By: David Duknan

Quite often the task of getting up becomes very difficult for seniors. However, this difficulty is certainly not limited only to seniors, as others who are mobility challenged also face this complication. To make getting up easier, there are several lifting aids available for different areas of the house.

One of the most common and recognized lifting aids is the lift chair. Lift chairs are most often used in the living room and they look similar to a recliner. They are, however, very different from a regular recliner, because the base of the lift chair actually raises into the air to make it easy to transfer into or out of the lift chair. Today, lift chairs are controlled electronically, so this means not only is the lifting system electrically controlled, but also the backrest and footrest.

For the living room, the lift chair is one of the best and most versatile lifting aids available, but there are other areas of the home where a lift chair can not be used. One of the biggest problem areas is the bathroom. The bathroom has many hard surfaces, so a fall can be very damaging.lift chairs seniors bath lifts bath lift toilet seat lifts

Getting The Correct Lift Chair Posted By: Ralph Nindly

Many seniors and others with limited mobility often find that standing up becomes very difficult with age. Chairs like those found at the movie theatre's and other public areas can be very hard to use, however, this difficulty is not only restricted to public areas, as many people find that even getting out of their regular recliner is very hard. This is why many people turn to lift chairs to provide a safe and consistent way of standing up without assistance.

Lift chairs offer a way of allowing an individual to stand up without assistance. Most lift chairs look much like a typical high end recliner, although there are some that use a more modern look. They are, however, much different from a regular sitting chair, because lift chairs also make it easier and safer to stand up safely and without requiring anyone outside assistance.

Today, lift chairs are electronically powered and use an electric motor located in the base of the chair to literally lift the chair into the air. The electric motor also is responsible for the movement of the backrest and footrest.lift chairs lift chair seniors aging mobility

Learning About Lift Chair Features Posted By: David Duknan

For a number of people, getting up from a seated position is something that becomes more difficult with age. There are a number of ways of increasing mobility, such as relying on family to help with standing, but in most cases the lift chair provides the easiest means of increasing mobility and accessibility in the living room.

A lift chair is in some regards similar to a regular recliner, but unlike regular recliners, a lift chair not only provides a very comfortable place to sit, but they also make standing much easier. This is as a result of a lifting system that is located in the base of the chair. The lifting system is today electrical, although prior versions had used spring lifting systems.

You still might come across a spring lift chair, but they should not be purchased and really, anyone that sells a spring lift chair should typically be avoided. This is because the spring lift chair lacks many of the safety features common in a more modern electric lift chair.lift chairs lift chair recliner seniors aging health

How Lift Chairs Work Posted By: David Duknan

There are a number of people who find that standing and sitting is very difficult. Often this tasks grows more difficult with age, so seniors predominantly make up the group of people who have trouble standing without assistance. One way that these troubles are overcome is by using a lift chair.

Lift chairs are designed to make standing and sitting much easier. They offer many of the same features a traditional recliner would, like a reclining backrest and extending footrest, but unlike their cousin the recliner, a lift chair also makes it much easier to stand unassisted. This feat is achieved because the base of the lift chair contains a very strong lifting base.

This lifting system actually raises the chair, rider and all, slowly into the air. When the chair has been raised to its apex, it is possible to exit it in a position that is close to standing. It should be noted that although the lift chair does raise, it does so very smoothly and steadily. The seat will angle itself slightly, but it is not enough that the user will feel like they are being dumped from the chair.lift chairs lift chair recliner seniors aging health

What Is A Lift Chair? Posted By: David Lamin

As our bodies age and the wear and tear of a busy life begin to take their toll, it can become more difficult to use our favorite easy chair. No longer is it as easy as it was before to get in out of that really relaxing recliner. In fact, because of the problems of getting in and out of their favorite recliner, many seniors resort to uncomfortable chairs with the mistaken idea that they have no choice. Fortunately they do have a choice thanks to lift chairs.

Lift chairs are basically a recliner that has a built in lifting aid. These lifting aids are in the form of motors that can move a chair from a reclining position to a standing position at the touch of a button. This makes it easier than ever to be able to get comfortably out of your chair without the pain and hassles that you felt before. The strong motors handle the raising and lower smoothly, without jerks. As you go from the reclining position to the standing position, you feel the strength and comfort of the chair guiding you so that you can stand with confidence.lift chairs lift chair liftchairs liftchair lift recliner lift seat

Benefits Of A Lift Chair Posted By: David Lamin

If you are researching lifting aids such as lift chairs then you already know how important they can be for helping seniors get the most out of life. You know just how valuable they are and why they are a necessity for many homes. You may not be aware of all the genuine benefits that lift chairs provide to seniors. The benefits make them well worth their purchase. Here are just some of the benefits of lift chairs.

Lift chairs are great for helping seniors get to their feet without a lot of twisting or turning of the body. When standing from a comfortable easy chair, a lot of pressure is exerted on joints such as the knees and ankles. It can be difficult and painful to try to stand without having the help of a gentle lift. Having a lift chair allows seniors to enjoy a comfortable recliner while reading, watching TV or taking an afternoon nap. Instead of needing help to get up from the chair, the lift chair helps them stand up independently.

Lifting aids and lifting chairs are also very important in helping to prevent injuries.lift chairs lift chair liftchairs liftchair lift recliner lift seat
