<description>As part of its stepping up efforts to entice more tourists in key growth markets to help its ailing economy, the United States is set to liberalize its USA visa application procedures for non-immigrant Chinese.
More than a million USA visa applications in China were adjudicated by the US Department of State in 2011 alone, showing a rise of 34%, with the growth rate accelerating to 48% in the last three months of 2011.
At present, according to Charles Bennett, minister- counselor for consular affairs at the US embassy, there are almost 90% of approved non-immigrant applications from Chinese nationals.
Travel and tourism had strengthened the U.S. economy by creating jobs in communities across the United States.
In 2010, there were more than 800,000 Chinese visitors who had contributed USD five billion to the US economy.
