Finding Her A Birthday Gift When You're Short On Time Posted By: Kate Stephen

You're here for one reason - you've left it to the last minute to find her a birthday gift and you don't know where to start.

I'm going to say this right up front - I can't promise you'll find the answer here, but hopefully you'll at least leave armed with some ammunition.

Re-gift

This one's a little bit tongue-in-cheek (almost an homage to Seinfeld)...but before you disregard it entirely, let me assure you - there is actually an ethical way of making this work.

There are three keys points that need to be covered:

1) The gift needs to have genuine value
2) It needs to be completely unused and still in its original packaging
3) You need to have a genuine belief the recipient will appreciate the gift more than you do.

If you were given a gift in the past, it is still sitting at home and it meets the above 3 criteria then re-gifting may actually work in your situation.

Make sure that it is not well known that someone else gave you this item as a gift and you shouldn't have any problems.gifts for her birthday gifts for her last minute birthday gifts

The Truth So Called Christians Will Not Accept Posted By: Denny Smith

Most people who call themselves Christians are in reality not Christians at all no matter how dedicated they may be to their faith. The word of God is truth (Jesus speaking, John 17:17) and stands as the one and only standard that is acceptable to the God of heaven and of men. It, not man, sets the standard for who is a Christian.

As there is a political correctness in our land there is likewise a religious correctness that one must adhere to unless he is willing to be branded a heretic, ostracized, ridiculed, and persecuted. Man has set his own standard as regards who is a Christian and who is not and it is religiously incorrect to dispute the accepted standard.

A sort of political correctness in religion is nothing new. It existed in the days of Jesus and was something he had to fight against daily. As far as this world is concerned he finally lost the battle as it put him on the cross. It is pretty certain the same (persecution to the death) can be said of Paul and Peter.truth Christians Christ baptism faith repentance

Think Positive In Your Work Posted By: Antonio Marsocci

Do you remember a time when you were more enthusiastic in your work? Even passionate? When you felt you could make a difference? When every day was another opportunity? If that has faded over time, perhaps it's time to think positive. Would you like to feel that way again? What can think positive give you? By thinking positively you can have: improved performance, more productivity, better teamwork and less stress.

Thinking positively helps you: stay focused on solutions and get the job done; give yourself the chance to succeed; be clear about your team's strengths and make the most of them; be a role model (and even an inspiration) to those around you; know what you want and what you need and also know that you are entitled to ask for both. The first step is attitude. The step is to 'think positive'. As a busy manager or executive your are beset by conflicting issues: KPIs, targets, team performance, corporate politics, staff development, customer demands, etc., etc. When was the last time you thought to yourself, "We can't do this; it's too much."? Were you right? Probably.Think positive at work work performance work motivation work sucess

Personal Development Tips - Breaking Free From Your Comfort Zone Posted By: Michelle S

The only thing that is holding you back from success and happiness is you or should I say the old you, as hopefully you are now in the process of making a change for the better (otherwise why would you be reading this?). You see, you are currently living in your comfort zone, this is what most people call normal or acceptable, i.e. you get up, you commute to work, you work, you commute home, you eat, watch TV, sleep and then start all over again. At weekends you do what you can with the meager pay you receive including, buying a lottery ticket. What a waste of a life, yet millions of people are living or should I say existing like this today.

Here's a quote by Denis Waitley:

I go to work, I earn my bread,
I watch TV and go to bed,
Sunrise, sunset - year to year,
Before I know it winter's here.

I know that this may sound harsh, but if you are truly honest with yourself, you will agree with me that that's what life is like for 95% of the population, possibly including yourself.tax liens tax lien tax lien certificates federal tax lien

Colour Me Brightly! Understanding Light In Interior Design. Part I: Introducing Patterns Of Light Posted By: Global Interior Design London

Professional interior designers are expertly trained in the use of lighting features to create breathtaking results. In this four-part series which I call AND ldquo;Colour Me Brightly: Understanding Light in Interior Design, AND rdquo; I draw on my experience in London AND rsquo;s interior design community to explain this fascinating subject. This first article is about patterns.
Ask a London schoolgirl to imagine natural patterns, and she may talk at length of curvaceous seashells, the undulating edge of waves on the shore, the grooves in a gnarled tree trunk. Interior designers know that patterns are all around us. Patterns profoundly influence all interior design schemes, transforming our appreciation of color and texture, adding fluctuations and drifts or promoting harmony and stillness. London Interior Designers will focus on soft, fluid outlines in order to create relaxing patterns. By contrast, bold graphic statements in a wallpaper stencil can be invigorating for a London discotheque or salon. Pattern is a foundational ingredient of interior design, fragmenting overwhelming shapes and plain surfaces while simultaneously lending personality and profundity to a room.
London AND rsquo;s professional interior designers know one big secret: pattern is created not only by fabric and wallpaper.London Interior Design Interior Design London

A Top London Interior Designer, What Do You Feel? Posted By: Global Interior Design London

Interior designers sometimes get asked about the hottest colour trends. And this season, we have a confession to make: white is the new black! White interior designs are hip and trendy once again, and in particular those sterile white kitchens are now all the rage. This is particularly true in London, where the dull and gloomy skies can make clients cry out for a touch of bright white interior design freshness.
When you walk into a beautiful white kitchen designed by a top London Interior Designer, what do you feel? Many of us are overwhelmed with all sorts of emotions. We feel carefree and almost as if we are floating on air. The pervasive whiteness brings to mind age-old simplicity, sanitary freshness, contemporary impact, and a roomy, playful outlook. The interior designer will use the white kitchen as a philosophy to evoke a sentiment of purity for food preparation and to empower boundless chef-inspired inspiration.
Many interior design consultancies use white as a fabulous background for the presentation of magical colours and textures. For example, one top trend today is to use deeply varnished wooden joists to contrast with sharply-defined white architectural surrounds. Colourful interior design accents really AND ldquo;London Interior Design Interior Design London

Common Types Of Essay Writing Posted By: sonia12

Great classical writers like William Shakespeare are a source of inspiration to present day aspiring writers because they strictly adhered to their specific sub-genres. There are many types of essays with each having its standard mode of writing. The major types are the argumentative, explanatory, literary, cause and effect and the argumentative essay. This article explores the main types of essays giving a brief overview on what each type deals with.

The most common essay is the imaginative in which one writes from his memory. It entails imagination and everything that is discussed therein is fiction. The essay requires that one be creative and picture people, events and situations in their ordinary life. A writer therefore creates fictitious characters to enable him tell his story. The essay employs the use of stylistic devices because the aim is to make the story interesting and enjoyable. Imaginative writing usually takes the form of compositions and in most cases use the first person point of view hence is subjective and limited in scope.
Lady Diana Tartan - In Memory Posted By: Anna Murray

The Diana Memorial Tartan was developed in response to the public outpouring of emotion at the time of Princess Diana's death.

In the week after her death the government established a Memorial Committee, chaired by, the then chancellor, Gordon Brown. A committee was established to ensure that public generosity was used in the best way to benefit causes. The thinking behind the fund was to tap into 'new money' rather than taking resources from existing charities.

A range of items were produced in Diana's memory with all profits going to the memorial fund. So far AND #163;The licencing of Diana products has raised over 35m to date. The Daiana tartan was used to make kilts as well as tartan accessories including scarves, tammy sets, ties.

The Princess Diana tartan was designed by Lochcarron of Scotland who received official approval to produce the tartan. The design uses the Royal Stewart tartan as a base with colours chosen to symbolise elements of Diana's life.

The charity, which is supported by Diana's sons, chose to focus it's attention on causes that tend to receive less popularity, for example in the work it has done with prisioners families.tartan princess Diana Diana Fund ladies kilts

He Rejoiced Greatly Having Believed In God Posted By: Denny Smith

In Acts 16 verses 23 through 34 we have the account of the conversion of the Philippian jailer at the hands of Paul and Silas who preached the gospel to him and his household. As you recall Paul and Silas had been jailed in Philippi when an earthquake at midnight loosed their bonds and opened all the prison doors. Being responsible for the prisoners the jailer assumed all had escaped and was ready to take his own life when Paul called out to him. The opportunity was given to preach the gospel to him and his household.

The first recorded words of the jailer after bringing Paul and Silas out of their cell was "what must I do to be saved?" (Acts 16:30 NAS) There is a lot of information that can be gleaned from those few words. First, it can be fairly inferred that the jailer was convinced that Paul and Silas were men of God who knew God's will.Philippian jailer conversion believe Lord Jesus Paul

Be Faithful To The Lord - The Conversion Of Lydia Posted By: Denny Smith

"And when she and her household had been baptized, she urged us, saying, 'If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and stay.' And she prevailed upon us." (Acts 16:15 NAS)

In Acts 16:13-15 we find the account of the conversion of Lydia in the city of Philippi. This is a very interesting conversion account and one that men have debated as to what actually happened. Yet, when one reads closely, there is little mystery to it.

Paul, Silas, and Timothy, as you recall, enter the city of Philippi to preach the gospel. Their first opportunity as far as we can tell to do so is to a group of women out at the river side at a gathering place for prayer. Lydia is one of the women gathered there.

The first mystery to some people is found in the statement in verse 14 where it is said that "the Lord opened her heart to respond to the things spoken by Paul." Well, how did he do that? Did God take a kind of spiritual crow bar to her mind and heart and force conversion on her?Lydia conversion faithful Lord baptized heart Paul

The Joy And The Danger Of A Clean Conscience Posted By: Denny Smith

A good conscience is a wonderful thing to have. Without it there is no inner peace - only turmoil, anxiety, and restlessness. Anyone who has violated his conscience knows of that which I speak.

A bad conscience pricks us continually without let up. It is the perfect tormentor. Day and night we suffer from its attacks. Wherever we go it travels with us. We cannot lose it. It is determined to give us no rest or relief.

Rest can only be had at what is generally felt to be a hard price to pay. That price is the shame and humiliation of admitting (confessing) our sin and making whatever restitution, if any, that can be made for it. It is awfully hard to put oneself through that but that is exactly the price the conscience requires of us before it will let us go free.

I know of a man who recently went before the church confessing his unfaithfulness. Afterwards he spoke of what a burden was lifted from his shoulders. The conscience was now clear and life could move forward with the inner turmoil now gone and peace restored.clean conscience bad conscience good conscience sin

Insight Italy On Your Ride Posted By: Chris Cornell

The modern architecture is a reflection of their heavy gothic influence during the Renaissance period. Colossal cathedrals and numerous worship places are the major captivating tourist sites.
The Spanish Steps in Rome are an ancient trademark left behind by the Spanish conquistadors. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and it is empirically recorded that the tower slants 1cm every year, due to the instable foundation of the soil at the base.
Some of the more modern tourist attractions are at the beachfronts such as Monte Argentario and Positano. The incredible rock formations at Monte Argentario are the most scenic images at the southern Tuscany region. Positano is a coastal village which has a rich history that dates back to the 10th century and it is currently a seaport. Many artists who are looking for artistic inspiration come here.
Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy, and it is infamous for being the execution place for Mussolini. Tourists often visit the lake because there are exotic flower and unique plantations grow here.
Portofino which literarily means beautiful port, and this place is famous for the existence of a large population of dolphin.Cheap Car Hire Italy car hire

Travel Around Trieste With Car Hire Posted By: Chris Cornell

The remarkable environs of the Italian city of Trieste are motivation enough to car hire. When travelling to the innermost countryside of Italy, the best way to fully absorb the cultural experience is by Car Hire Trieste. The service is affordable and easily attainable at most locations. Major cities would have their respective tourism agencies which offer a car hire service. The endless attraction spots in this town in north eastern Italy act as a great inspiration to get your own automobile at a car hire.
In this seaport town which is close to the border shared with Slovenia, the coffee producing town boasts of an authentically Mediterranean climate. The temperature and wind velocity is differs according to sea-level heights. The mountainous urban setting near the Kras Heights experience a much cooler and damper climate as compared to Bora, when temperatures could fetch up to 24 Celsius.
One of the most beautiful sights for tourists on vacation is the Miramare Castle. This mid 1800 work of architectural design features two giant ponds, one for the lotus flowers and the other is for the swans.
Apart from that, tourists can visit the Trieste Cathedral which was built to commemorate St. Justus.Car Hire Trieste car hire Trieste

Fitness: Don't Let Bad Conscience Ruin Your Holidays Posted By: Anja Bolbjerg

December is usually a busy time of the year where the holidays tend to weigh more in people's minds than health and fitness. Or, if it weighs heavily, it is usually in the form of bad conscience rather than because they spend a lot of time working out.

So, what can you do to not feel guilty during the holidays?

First thing: Get stuff done in the morning. Set the alarm 20 minutes earlier - or spend 20 minutes less getting ready - and opt for an intense 15 minute workout. 15 minutes a day of good intensity workout such as 5 minute warm up and three 3-minute rounds of circuit training including full body exercises will take you a long way. You can for example do 6 body weight exercises for 30 seconds each one right after the other.

1) Forward lunges
2) Push ups
3) Lateral lunges
4) Jumping Jacks
5) Split squats
6) Bent-over elastic band row

Secondly you could gather inspiration for your workouts after the holidays. Use this little break in your normal routine as an opportunity to make changes and optimize your workouts.healthy holidays fitness and holidays 12 days of fitness fitness gifts free fitness information fitness for the holidays

Sagittarius Relationship Tips - There Is Light Ahead Posted By: Loy Combs

Sagittarius's compelling message that makes it so popular is that no matter how dark it looks in the moment, there is light ahead. Inspiration is the key! That doesn't mean becoming an insensitive Pollyanna, espousing totally unrealistic optimism. It's you knowing you are a survivor, you can overcome. And since we are now in Sagittarius, let's use its three step magic formula to become victorious.

First - Delve Into Darkness

Do not be afraid, delve into your darkness. It will take you into the inner realms of your feelings which are the gateway to your intuition, where your real light shines.

If you feel down, depressed, sad, go ahead; let yourself fully feel before you try to catapult yourself out of your mood. Have a good cry. These are your victim, vulnerable feelings; honor them. Within the sadness is tenderness. For just awhile, your toughness, your defensive stance is broken down, humbled.

At this moment, someone can hold you, help you. But what if you are all alone, not in a relationship? There is no one to cuddle you, but you. Whether you realize it or not, this gives you the opportunity to learn how to save yourself.Sagittarius relationship love astrology compatibility

Winston Churchill's Valuable Life Lessons Posted By: Kellie D'Andrea

Winston Churchill is probably no stranger to anyone. He was an inspirational British leader during the Second World War, a noted statesman, officer, historian, writer and artist and the only British Prime Minister to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature.

Throughout history and even today, Winston Churchill is often quoted for his words of wisdom and as we all strive to achieve our purpose in life his famous quotes are an inspiration to us all. Here are a few of my favorites translated so you can apply it to goal achievement and five lessons on improving your life.

1) "It is a mistake to look too far ahead. Only one link in the chain of destiny can be handled at a time."

Translation - Focus on the NOW. Too many times we are looking so far ahead that we often lose sight of what is right in front of us. By focusing on what you have in your life now and what you are doing right now, you will begin to take the first steps towards improving your life.Quotes Winston Churchill Goals Lessons Life Lessons

Three Simple Ways To Reduce Holiday Stress Posted By: Patricia Diesel

When you think about what is involved in getting your holiday celebrations in order, everything from sending out holiday cards, decorating the house, stringing the lights, hosting and attending parties, buying and wrapping presents, and baking and decorating the cookies, it's understandable how the season can feel overwhelming and stressful. We tend to do a lot of juggling around the holidays, which can create high anxiety around this time. To help keep things simple, I have listed a few suggestions for alternative ways to combat your holiday "to do" list. Think Outside the Envelope Consider sending postcards in lieu of cards this year. You'll have one less step without envelopes and will save on the postage, as well. And the best part - holiday postcards are very chic this season, so you will be right in style. Keep it in Perspective Holidays can bring an enormous amount of stress, causing depression for some. High expectations leave us all vulnerable. I have a sign in my office that reads, "Our peace is proportional to our expectations." It helps me whenever I begin to feel I am putting too much pressure on either myself, someone else or a situation.holiday stress reduce holiday stress holiday tips holiday preparedness holiday tricks simple holidays stress free holidays holiday secrets
