Clearing The Air- Baby Sling Recalls Posted By: Robin Johnson

Perhaps you have heard about the million+ baby sling recalls? Well I want to clear the air about about them. The type of sling that was recalled is an Infantino bag sling. It's no wonder why they were recalled. The basic design of a bag sling was flawed from the beginning. The bag is too deep and material would have nowhere else to go but right in babies face. Another major problem with a bag sling is that babies head could easily become slouched over and their chin would rest on their chest. We now know that this blocks babies already small airway passages and they could potentially suffocate. The fact is that no other baby sling should fall into this category.

It is important to realize that recalls on baby products are common place. Baby cribs, bassinetts, playpens, strollers, each one seems to have a new category of products that are unsafe conveniently after the consumer finds out for themselves. Rather than placing a stigma on these products they simply fix the malfunctioning components of it, or discontinue that model or brand and take it off of the shelves.baby sling recalls baby sling safety baby sling baby slings safe babywearing attatchment parenting

2010 Was The Year Of Children's Product Recalls Posted By: Robert Reeves

The year 2010 was one of great anxiety for parents and California product liability attorneys. Last year we saw a large number of children's product recalls, involving everything from cribs and strollers to medications. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, over the past 11 months, the agency had to recall 230 products used by infants and children. That was an increase of 63% from 2009.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the deadliest recalls were those related to strollers, cribs and baby carriers. These defective products resulted in several fatalities in 2010. Besides, 2010 also saw a large number of children's medications being recalled. Primary among these recalls were several announced by Johnson AND Johnson. These included a number of blockbuster children's medications, including the popular antipyretic medication, Tylenol. However, just about every other medicine brand also announced massive recalls last year, causing anxiety among parents everywhere. Chief on the recall list were products that were formulated to deal with the common cold. Other products that were recalled included Benadryl, Zyrtec and Morin.

A breakdown of the children's product recalls last year shows that most recalls in 2010 were linked to cribs, specifically drop side cribs.California product liability attorneys Children Product Recalls Dangerous Product

Mei Tai Carrier Review Posted By: Louise Ryan

The Mei Tai carrier is a product that is known for its comfort and reliability. This carrier is Chinese inspired and has become very popular. This style originated in Asia where mothers carried their babies with fabrics attached to their body so they can carry on with their day while attending to their children. This carrier style is comfortable for the baby and the parent.

The great thing about the Mei Tai carrier is that it has padding for comfort but it isn't as bulky as some of its competitors. The carrier can be folded for storage when not in uses and doesn't take up a lot of space in cars. They come in many different styles and colors that accentuate most wardrobes and styles.

With the Mei Tai carrier, you can carry the baby in the front, back, or side hip. There are no buckles that add weight or impede the movement of the child. The carrier can be adjusted to the body in a way that is most comfortable to the parent. The weight is evenly distributed to mom and dad's shoulders.baby backpack child carrier child carrier backpack mei tai carrier

The Infantino Baby Carrier is a great alternative to the stroller or hand held carrier for your baby transportation needs. Like most other carriers, it allows you to stay close to your baby while freeing up your hands for other activities such as household chores and banking. Infantino has been in business for about 15 years and has produced quality baby toys, bouncers, and crib accessories. Their baby carrier was made with comfort in mind.

The Infantino Baby Carrier comes in two types: extended wear and fashion. The extended wear was designed for more functionality and comfort. This is designed for people who need to use their carrier for long periods of time for activities such as long trips to the shopping mall or a day at the amusement park. The memory foam straps and the breathable fabric make this carrier comfortable for the parent and the baby. The fashion carrier type, while still functional, was made for style and fashion. There are many styles and colors to fit many tastes.

The Infantino baby carrier is made from durable materials that have proven to last a long time. It has been reliable in preventing the baby from slipping.baby backpack child carrier child carrier backpack infantino baby carrier

The Ideal Toys For Babies Will Be Those Created For Their Agel Posted By: Antonius McRae

Toys for babies must always meet certain developmental and safety requirements.. Certainly giving a three month old a toy meant for a four year old simply will not work. The baby will simply chew on it and stare at it.. A child that young likes to have rattles and soft things to place in his mouth.. They discover with not only their fingers and eyes, but with their mouths as well. For this reason it becomes apparent why giving a baby a toy meant for a older child could be dangerous. A month old baby could get a piece lodged in her throat..

When it comes to toys for babies you must follow the manufacturer guides lines. The manufacturer will know if there are little pieces that could choke a young child. They also will have developed the toy specifically for an age group. A toy made for a toddler likely has several moving parts and elements that could be manipulated. Again, they must be chunky in size with nothing smallish that might be a choking hazard. Toddlers too put just about every thing in their mouths. It might not be for discovery at this age.toys for babies wooden baby toys top toys for toddlers toys for toddler toddler educational toys infantino toys educational toys for children educati

Considering Buying A Balboa Baby Sling? Read This First! Posted By: Sandra Riley

Have you ever ran into a problem where you have too many things to do but your little one is always in your arms? You wish that you could hold them and get what you need to get done? There is a product called the Balboa Baby Sling that I am here to talk to you about. It was developed, tested and recommended by Dr. Spears, who also happens to be a pediatric doctor. You may wonder if this product really works, and I am here to give you my best judgement.

What the Balboa Sling is designed to do is to allow you to have your baby close to you but not completely immobilize you and at the same time help you get your various tasks accomplished. It does this by how it is implied, it is a sling that wraps around the front of your body, and your baby is place gently inside, kind of like a nice snug ca-coon.Baby Slings Carrier Balboa Baby Sling Infantino Slings

Death By Suffocation Caused By Baby Slings On Recall, Protect Your Family. Posted By: James Ballidis

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada (HC) have recently recalled over one million infant slings and 15,000 are being recalled in Canada. CPSC advises consumers to immediately stop using these slings for infants younger than four months of age due to a risk of suffocation.

The manufacturer in question is Infantino LLC, of San Diego, California and they are cooperating with authorities. You may contact them for a free replacement product for either the "Sling Rider" or "Wendy Bellissimo" infant slings. Their website is www.infantino.com. Since 1998 there have been 14 babies who have died inside these sling-style infant carriers and three of those fatalities have occurred recently in Pennsylvania, Oregon and Ohio. Baby slings have grown in popularity since the 1960's but have become extremely trendy in recent years. However, with any market that grows too quickly, there are several potentially dangerous baby slings on the market.

The Juvenile Products Manufactures Association (JPMA) has been working with current baby product manufactures and ASTM to create standards for this product. Important factors such as baby sling style (non bag style) as well as improper fabrics were all considered.Child death child protection child advocacy child injury lawyer
