Is Hydrogen A Safe Fuel, Or Not? Posted By: Julianne Rowat

Is Hydrogen a Safe Fuel, Or Not?

How dangerous is hydrogen, lets compare.

We all know how dangerous gasoline is. You drop a match on spilled fluid it explodes. Diesel is not as bad as its flash point is a little higher. You can actually hold a match to diesel and light it, although I would not recommend it, the reason for this is the flash point. Gasoline flash point is 536 degrees Fahrenheit where as diesel is 489 degrees Fahrenheit. Hydrogen flash point is almost double that of gasoline or 932 degrees Fahrenheit. Flash point is defined as, lowest temperature at which a liquid can vaporize to form an ignitable mixture in air. So in other words, hydrogen has to be heated a lot higher than gasoline to ignite.

Hydrogen gas is also lighter then air, in fact it is 15 times lighter. So if a leak did occur, the hydrogen gas would rise, it would than combine with air and quickly become so sparse that it could not burn. If by a small chance ignition did occur, being lighter than air it would burn upwards and be consumed quickly.Hydrogen generator hydro cell increase mileage HHO Generator hydrogen kits hho kits make fuel safe hydrogen gas

History And Growth Of Automobile Car Industry Posted By: Miguel Covarrubias

The history of automobile industry began in the early 1769, with the inventor Nicolas J. Cugnot who French engineer was found out the first vehicle that run on roads. This automobile was steam powered, three wheeled military tractor. This vehicle had a small range of distance covering capacity, which could run only for a maximum of fifteen minutes. They also required a sufficient starting time. However they were not fit to run on roads due to the bulk load of the steam engines. The steam engine driven automobile was first designed by Oliver Evans in the US.

Internal combustion engine based car powered by fuel gas came into existence in the year 1806. In 1838, Scotsman Robert Davidson invented the first electric locomotive that run on an average speed of 4 miles per hour.

Lack of fuels discouraged the manufacture of combustion engine based automobiles. Then the internal combustion engine automobile which used oxygen and hydrogen mixture came into existence with the Swiss engineer Francois Isaac de Rivaz. Later, automobiles which run on hydrogen came into existence in 1826.

The first man to produce automobiles was Karl Benz in Germany in the year 1888 under license from Benz.Auto Transport Car Transport Auto Shipping Car Shipping

Hydrogen Generators - What You Need To Know Posted By: brekal677

A Hydrogen Generators - What You Need To Know Before You Buy

Educate yourself on what to look for when shopping for a hydrogen generator. There is a lot of misguided and overlooked information from too many hydrogen on demand companies. The 3 most important aspects to look at are amp draw, generator temperature and liters per minute of HHO gas it produces or LPM.

The most misunderstood aspect of an hho generator is the importance of how efficient it is. An efficient generator will produce hho gas without getting hot and climbing in amps, even after hours of running. If it is getting hot, it is producing steam along with the hydrogen gas and steam is not good for your engine.

At Hydrogen Water Cars we believe you need 1/4 - 1/2 liter per minute of hho gas production for every liter size engine. For example if you have 4 liter engine you will need 1- 2 LPM.

But, how are they measuring this output of gas and more importantly are they measuring steam too? Chances are good they are measuring steam if it is a dry or single cell generator.hydrogen generators hho kit hydrogen on demand

Can You Use A Green Energy Source Like Water To Power A Car? Posted By: Stanley Nickelson

Water can power a car? If you think thatís impossible, well it is already here but this is not yet being made on a commercial scale.

The German automobile BMW has produced the worldís first ever hydrogen powered car. While only 100 of these units were produced, you can already imagine if more of these vehicles are on the road.

The initial model namely the BMW Hydrogen 7 uses the body of the 760i model. Once you pop the hood, you will notice that the engine is different since it uses gas and hydrogen.

This just means we have not yet totally abandoned are dependence on gas. Given more time and money, the current 4.7 miles per gallon it can travel using water alone could hit double digits in the future.

The biggest challenge to using water as a green energy source as opposed to oil in vehicles is the engine. While there are cars around like the Prius which runs on electricity and gas thanks to fuel cell technology, the hydrogen combustion is less than 10 years old so you could say we are only seeing the tip of the iceberg.garden car vehicle oil gas modern techniques bmw mercedes garden fuel

The Hybrid Technology Develops As The 2005 Honda Accord Hybrid Vehicles Year After Year. Posted By: Banesh

The company that popularizes the hybrid technology is producing the better hybrid vehicles year after year. Although Toyota starts the technology to their Pries in 1997, Honda produces, develops, and uses the technology continuously to their cars. Hondas first hybrid car, the Honda Insight was released in the United States in 1999. This was soon followed by the Honda Civic, which marked the radical change in the hybrid technology and changed the way people to a car.

Hybrid cars use the combination of technologies such as internal combustion engines Ices, electric motors, batteries, hydrogen, and fuel cells. This saves a lot of gas fuel that becomes the preference of car buyers.

The hybrid technology improves year after year as Hondas hybrid vehicles become popular. Then, the 2005 Honda Accord Hybrid is by far the best Honda hybrid, or hybrid vehicle in the market.

A 3.0l V 6 engine of the Accord is the biggest among its class. It is the first hybrid that can match or even surpass other gas engine vehicles. With 255 horses pushing it, the Accord is the most economical V 6 vehicle.

The 2005 Honda Accord Hybrid drives like the conventional gas engine powered vehicle.HYBRID VEHICALS TECHNOLOGY

How A Hydrogen Fuel Cell Works In Relation To Hydrogen Powered Vehicles Posted By: Duanne Ball

With this hydrogen fuel cell technology, hho cars, hydrogen powered vehicle becomes possible.
There are several types of fuel cells, but the hydrogen fuel cell technology that powers hho cars uses what is called a proton exchange membrane, also known as a PEM. On one side of the PEM there is a cathode, which is positively charged, and on the other side there is an anode, which is negatively charged. The hydrogen gas is fed to the anode, where the platinum the anode is made of causes the hydrogen to break down into protons and neutrons. Both of these ions are drawn to the cathode like a magnet. The protons can go through the PEM to get there, but the electrons can't. Instead, they run through a circuit. This is what generates the electricity that runs a hydrogen powered vehicle.
While all of this is happening, the cathode is being bombarded with oxygen. There, a reaction breaks it into its ions as well. When the hydrogen ions reach these oxygen ions, it creates water, along with a little bit of heat. Some of the water is reused, and the rest runs out the exhaust pipe.hydrogen fuel cell technology hho cars hydrogen powered vehi

A Brief History Of Automobiles Posted By: Art Gib

The invention of the automobile was one of the most important events in recent history. The ease and freedom of transportation which cars make possible has changed the way the world moves, interacts, travels, and lives on a day to day basis. The automobile has even changed where we build our homes. Before cars made it easy to get where we needed to go at any time, towns and communities were built so that people could get where they needed to go by foot or wagon. Homes were built closer to town. Cars have changed more aspects of daily living than we usually think about.

In 1806 a Swiss inventor by the name of Francois Isaac de Rivaz invented the first internal combustion engine. This early engine was fueled with a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen. He used it to power one of the very first cars every built. However, his design was rudimentary and therefore not commercially successful.

It wasn't until 1885 that Karl Benz, a German engineer and inventor, invented the first internal combustion four stroke cycle engine powered by petroleum gasoline.hemet cars

It Is Possible To Run Your Car Or Truck On Water Posted By: P. Rodgers

Have you heard about water technology or brown gas? If you haven't and you are a car owner then you need to read this article right now so that you can learn how you can save up to 70% on your fuel costs!

With the rising oil and gas prices, global warming and pollution, people are looking for the need of "water fuel cell" technology, which is believed to be very cheap, would save thousands on gas bills and which is also environment friendly. Many misconceptions and myths have made common man skeptical about running the car on water. But the question is "how to run your car on water?"

Learning how to run your car on water is like learning how to bake a cake. All you need is a well written set of guided instructions and the ingredients to make it happen. Just as you don't need to be an expert chef in order to bake a cake with the right set of instructions, just about anyone at any technical level can convert their car to burn water and gas.

This is based on a hundred year old technology called electrolysis.running car on water car runs on water run car on water run your car on water

Siloxane And Its Application In Industry Posted By: Chad DeBolt

Siloxane is a compound that belongs to the Organosilicon group of compounds and has a variety of applications. Typically its units are composed in the form of R2Sio; in this case R is the hydrogen atom, or hydrocarbon group. These have a backbone structure of alternating oxygen and silicon atoms which may or may not be branched. The side chains R attach to the silicon atoms. There are more complex structures available such as a cube with the silicon atoms at the corners and oxygen atoms at the edges.

There are many forms of this compound with different names and classifications. Cyclic Siloxanes include hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane, octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane, decamethylcyclopentasiloxane, and dodecamethylcyclohexasiloxane. Linear Siloxanes include: hexamethyldisiloxane, octamethyltrisiloxane, decamethyltetrasiloxane, and polydimethylsiloxane. Each one of these has different applications and uses.

Siloxanes can be found in a variety of household products ranging from deodorants, to soaps. They are also used in windshield coatings, and in some instances cosmetic products. They occur in landfill gas and are currently being evaluated as a replacement for perchloroethylene, which is a compound used in dry cleaning. This compound is considered environmentally unfriendly by most companies, and groups.Silane Organosilane Siloxane Silane Coupling Agent Silane Coupling Agents

So we built a BMW M3 and an Acura Integra, but we really needed something that would set ourselves apart from everyone else. So we decided to build a fuel efficient, high horsepower monster. This was not going to be very difficult given our background with green
technologies. So after some careful thought of what car we would start with, we imported one of the greatest sports cars of all time, a 2000 Nissan Skyline R34. It was a low-mileage Silver R34 that had fallen off a roll back and sustained some damages.

After getting the body damage repaired, we also did a complete color change on the car. The silver car was now a blue and black two-tone. The car initially came with a RB25 turbo inline 6 but we decided to upgrade the stock turbo to a custom Peavy Racing, Garret TD-05 with custom built manifold, and all hard piping along with a huge Spearco front mount intercooler.cars trucks hho automobile nissan skyline racing turbo mechanic driving green environment

Remove Stains - Some Common Stains Easily Removed Posted By: Robert Hillman

The object should be to remove stains quickly and effortlessly. There are many great websites that offer this information but the problem is where to start looking? Here are a couple of solutions to get you started.

Linen:

Some linens, when they are stored for long periods can sometimes become 'yellow'.

To prevent this from happening it is advisable to wrap the linen in some acid-free paper beforehand. However, if they are already suffering from 'yellowing', then make up a solution of 3 cups of boiling water, add 2 or three fresh rhubarb stalks and soak the linen in this solution (it is also possible to add a mixture of one cup of lemon juice and two cups of water to this rhubarb mix). Then let the linen dry naturally. Keep doing this until the stains have gone.

Blood:
The first thing you should do is to rinse the clothing in cold water. Make a mild solution of water and laundry detergent and let it soak for a few hours. If the clothing is of a light color, you could wipe the stain with a wet cloth with some hydrogen peroxide added.remove stains

Hydrogen Fuel Stations: Wave Of The Future Posted By: Fei Lim

You may have heard about hydrogen fuel recently. Hydrogen is the same chemical used as fuel by the sun, and when you burn it, you get lots of energy and very little pollution; burned efficiently, the only by-product is water. Even better, hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe, and can be processed from the same water that it creates in an endless cycle We have the technology right now to build hydrogen-powered cars. So why don't you see them all over the road?

Because we do not yet have the infrastructure. In order to make hydrogen fuel a viable alternative to fossil fuels, we need to have a strong hydrogen fuel station infrastructure - a network of fueling stations throughout the country. After all, how would you fuel your gas-based car if you didn't have a gas station to stop at?

How Hydrogen Fuel Stations Work

There are two different types of hydrogen fuel stations right now: public stations, located only in a very few areas and concentrated in Southern California, and home stations, built into garages and set up with complex systems to provide appropriate water and energy supplies.cars autos vehicles car classifieds auto classifieds

University Of Waterloo Team Creates Hydrogen Car Posted By: Fei Lim

The University of Waterloo in Toronto, Ontario, Canada has recently been in the news for making a hydrogen-powered car. The team consisted of students, they created the car as part of the final year of the Challenge X. Challenge X is a competition that lasts for three years that challenged seventeen teams to re-engineer a GMC Equinox, the most recent challenge ended in 2007.

The team at the University of Waterloo is known as the Alternative fuels team. The group of students showcased their re-engineered car at Direct Energy Center at Exhibition Place in Toronto. The team was the first to create this alternative fuel car and it is all due to their cutting edge technology. The car basically runs on water and emits no fumes; in fact the end result is water. This makes the car very environmentally friendly, and by using water to power it's engine high gas prices my soon be a thing of the past.

The University of Waterloo is the only University that was chosen outside of the United States. During the designing process the team won eight out of ten of the award categories which in the end put them in first place.cars autos vehicles car classifieds auto classifieds
