Buying Gold Bullion Coins Posted By: Mark Thomas Walters

In the current financial climate of weak currencies, inflation and general insecurity, many investors and ordinary families are turning to a reliable and time-tested form of wealth preservation - gold bullion coins. They feel better if some of their savings are in the form of gold, rather than cash, bonds or other paper promises. They also want to actually have their wealth in their hand - really in their possession.

So, what are gold bullion coins? How much do they cost? And, where can you get them from?

A century ago, gold coins were used as standard currency in many countries, and were in general circulation. As an example, the USA used to use quarter eagles, half eagles, eagles and double eagles. These are now sought after by collectors, having last been issued in the 1930s. After gold coins ceased to be circulated in the 30s, there was then a gap of a few decades before they were again re-issued. However, as gold had by that time become so valuable, the coins that made up the re-issuing were not entered into circulation as a standard form of currency.gold bullion coins gold coins gold personal finance finance hobbies

How To Buy Gold Bullion Posted By: Ethan Luke

There once was a time when the only gold available for purchase were large 400 ounce bars, chunky nuggets, or lumpy coins. The best way to authenticate its value was biting into the piece. Fortunately, the times have changed and so have dental plans. Now there is an incredible variety of gold bullion in the form of cold coins and bars yielded from numerous countries and mints all around the world. You can now buy gold bullion bars as small as one gram or a 20th of a troy ounce, but purchasing in such small amounts is not financially practical. To get the most bullion for your buck, you need to understand exactly what gold bullion is and the best ways to buy it.

Precious metals in bulk form, such as gold, are known as bullion. Gold bullion can be minted into either gold coins or bars of various types, sizes, and weights. Bars come in a variety of sizes and weights from as small as a gram to 1,000 kg bars. When bought, all gold comes at a price and a premium over the market price, which changes daily.Gold Bullion

Gold - That Precious Metal... Posted By: Dennis Jaylon

Though other gifts also have great importance and they welcomed at any occasion or even without occasion, but this precious metal is of an exclusive value which I wanted to keep as much as I get. Gold is also getting costly day by day and there is a great variation also in its price, sometimes it gets really high and sometimes its price decreased like anything. Hence, it is now becoming more of an asset then merely a metal.

Gold is now instead of considering as a jewelry item is also being used in making many other things like gold coins, making trophies, in treating illness, this is one of the historical uses of gold in the field of modern applications and medicine. It is a multipurpose metal which is nowadays getting very much preference from not only higher class people but also from the middle class. Earlier, gold was supposed to be a sign of royalty and richness, but now it is treated as a investing mode, which everyone loves to buy for their saving as well as accessory material.

For dental use also, gold is very much utilized as an alloy.investing gold coins dealer gold gold investment coins

How To Clean Your Gold Coins Posted By: Superior Gold Group

If you ever want sell a gold coin, then should never clean it, as the dealer, collector or other buyer would prefer to buy unclean coins, and if you sell an unclean coin, you would be paid more than what you will get by selling unclean. This is because the buyers who will buy the coin would like to clean the coin by themselves, as they have a different way to clean the coins.

However, if you want to clean gold coins for your own collection, then there are a few options open to you. The most common one is rubbing or using abrasives. This is something you should avoid, however. By using metal polish, the surface of the gold coins will get some scratches and can even remove little bits of gold. No one likes a polished, scratched coin. You should always make sure that you carefully wipe your coins with a dry cloth after cleaning, as you know gold is very soft, and even a cloth that looks gentle can leave little scratches.investing gold coins dealer gold gold investment coins

Selling gold coins is a very profitable business venture provided you have the necessary means. There are very few people, who transact in gold coins, and usually those people who are rich invest in gold coins, and as the price of the gold rises they sell it in the market. The best way to sell the gold coins is to find out a bullion dealer. They can tell you the market value of your coins, and will pay you accordingly. However, the best way is to buy bulk of gold coins and sell them as soon as the price rises, one of the easiest way to mint money. Usually, large business tycoons follow this policy.

There are also some people who do so much transaction of gold that at a later stage they become a bullion dealer. However, this requires you to become an expert in gold coins and bullion.
Why Buy Antique Gold Coins? Posted By: Jay Villaverde

The first step in buying antique gold coins is to check out gold coin dealers in your local city - the larger the better, since bigger cities have more dealers. Ask each one the same questions, and choose some common coins that all of them will have available to examine. You can get the opinion of each of them about how good an investment gold coins would be for you. You'll want to think hard about what each one has to say, then compare them.

Of course, we don't all live in big cities. If there aren't any gold coin dealers in your area, or if there's only one or two, you might need to look elsewhere. The Internet is one popular option, but make sure you're careful about misinformation. There's a lot out there, so be sure you seek out mutiple sources that tell you the same thing, and that back up their information with citations.

Check out local coin clubs, too. Experts on antique gold coins could be living surprisingly close to you.coins coin collecting gold coins collectibles

How To Clean Gold Coins Posted By: Jay Villaverde

If you find a gold coin that you want to sell, don't clean it. The dealer, collector or other buyer will probably want the coin uncleaned, and will pay more for a dull one than a shiny one. After all, buyers who prefer their coins clean know how to do it.

Of course, if you want to clean coins for your own collection, there are a few options open to you. The most obvious one - rubbing or using abrasives - is something you should avoid, however. Metal polishes put little scratches on the surface of the coin and remove little bits of gold. No one likes a polished, scratched coin. Be careful wiping your coins dry after cleaning, too. Gold is very soft, and even a cloth that looks gentle can leave little scratches. Dab coins dry after cleaning, or use an air blower, instead.

Dirty gold coins can be cleaned safely using gentle detergents or soap and a little water. Some people will use a little soap in a pan of water and boil the coins gently over a hot burner until they're clean. This is best for large lots. Never let the pan boil dry, however.coins coin collecting gold coins collectibles

Remembering The Beijing Olymipics With The The Chinese Silver Commemorative Coin Posted By: Christina Goldman

If you are a coin collector and are especially keen on brilliant, uncirculated silver coins then most likely you'll be interested in Chinese Silver Commemorative Coins. These coins are generally minted for collection purposes as well as commemorative pieces to honor of special events and people who have made a difference or a great impact in the country of China.

For instance, to commemorate the Beijing Olympics, Chinese coins were made and designed just for that purpose. Other nations have also recognized the great thing about Chinese coins, especially Australia, Somalia, Singapore, and the Isle of Man, so coinages were prepared and different gold and silver coins are now circulating the markets today that contain the Chinese zodiac on one side and the partnering nation's state symbol on the other.

These coins, depending on the weight, the design, and the valuable metal content, can either be affordable (RMB 3 to US $10-15) or expensive ( sometimes over one hundred to one thousand greenbacks ) due to its rarity and the history that go with it.Chinese Commemorative Coins Chinese Coins Chinese Silver Coins Chinese Silver Commemorative Coins

How To Take Opportunity Of Silver Shortage Posted By: Ron Nivinss

Is there going to be another silver shortage?
Are we going to again be looking under every rock to find silver, just like last October? Yes, right now you will still find bars here and there, but generally speaking Silver bars are getting harder to find, again. Already some of the suppliers have started to increase their bar premiums. If a shortage of physical silver actually happens, where will you get your supply, and when you do find them will the bar premium be exceptionally high? Why where is it all going?

I have seen reports that there is currently less than 200 million ounces of silver in above ground reserves.

In 1950 the US had two billion (2,000,000) ounces of the silver reserve.
So where did it all go? Industrial demand for silver has increased with regular numbers each year. Consumption in 2008 was over 800 million ounces, but the mines have produced slightly over 650 million ounces.

One new thought out there are the US banks, changing paper silver for physical silver to prevent a run on their bank.Gold Silver Platinum Palladium bars bullion precious metals noble metals Maple Leafs Eagles Buffalo metal club

Methods Of Detecting Fake Coins. Posted By: Theo Steward

Since the number of fake coins far surpasses the number of authentic coins, amateur coin collectors can be more easily fooled by fake coins than veteran collectors. Don't worry if you accidentally buy a counterfeit coin, all coin collectors encounter this sooner or later. It is wise to always ask someone trustworth for a second opinion.

The ancient library of Alexandria was burnt down by a monarch because he knew that some of the scrolls in it contained information allowing those who knew it to counterfeit gold and silver coins in such a way that it was virtually impossible to tell apart good coins from bad coins. He provided a radical solution, but it aimed at safeguarding the empire's currency, which, without being trsuted, could create the ruin of trade relations.

You will see that some fake coins have dead giveaways. Fake coins make a different sound when they come into contact with other coins because of the way they are produced. Color can also help in detecting the fake coins, you might have surely heard the expression "fool's god". Some people can be deceived into thinking they are seeing gold, when it is only highly polished brass.fake coins coin swindle fake gold coins coin scams coin imitations

Sell Gold Coins Posted By: Marcia Henin

Selling gold coins may become a crucial issue, if you want to obtain the best price for your gold coins collection.

Probably, gold coins that people wish to sell need to be maintained carefully with all the required paperwork to evidence the good condition of these coins.

Individuals, who are keen to sell gold coins just for personal interest or to make a living out of selling gold coins may consider the below mentioned basic ways:

Find auction houses and coin dealers to sell gold coins. In addition, find the current prices of gold coins, as this will provide an idea of present market values. This will ensure the best price for the deal. Next, check the appropriate outlet for selling gold coins.

In fact, there are several alternatives with each having their own merits and limitations. Put up an ad in a local newspaper.

Individuals may even consider any auction house. In addition, there are various web sites online and this too has certain merits and limitations because of limited time. If a person, who is interested in buying gold coins, has no knowledge of auctions, bidding is definitely going to be low.Sell gold coins gold coins gold coins gold dealers gold
