Pet Meds That Can Put The Spring Back In Your Furry Friend's Step Posted By: Patricia Catagnus

It is always difficult to see a beloved pet struggle with health issues. Keep up with the top pet meds that will maintain your best friend's health and happiness.

D.A.P. Collar

Sometimes dogs experience stressful situations and are unable to calm down, while some dogs have an anxious disposition overall and need assistance to relax. That's where the D.A.P. Collar steps in. Using the Dog Appeasing Pheromone, this collar copies the pheromone produced by the mother dog when she calms her puppies. This pheromone has a positive effect on dogs, both young and old, and is very helpful for stressful situations like: introducing a new puppy, traveling, grooming, fireworks, kennel training and more. The D.A.P. Collar lasts up to four weeks and should not get wet. Help your four-legged friend relax and live a happier life with the assistance of this behavioral collar.

Maxi/Guard Oral Cleansing Formula

Dental care is one of the most commonly overlooked health aspects for dog and cat owners everywhere. Plaque and tartar buildup, when left untreated, can lead to disastrous consequences like oral disease and subsequent tooth decay.Dog Medicine Pet Meds

Discount Pet Medicine Offers Choice Of Dog Arthritis Treatment Posted By: D. Thurmond, D.V.M.

Veterinary care advanced now ensure dogs of all breeds can enjoy long and healthy lives. Improved vaccinations and heartworm preventive medicine protect canines from serious and life threatening diseases. The aches and pains that are common for aging dogs may be noticed as a difficulty rising, a limp or swollen joints yet can be relieved and managed with dog arthritis medicine. Senior dogs in pain may demonstrate changes in behavior or disposition and owners must be alert for changes that may be a symptom of discomfort. The dog may shy away when you begin to massage his hip or back or whine when you manipulate one of his legs in play. Your pet cannot tell you he is in pain and dogs bear pain with great dignity. If his teeth hurt, your dog may shy away from a hand near his mouth or lose interest in hard dog biscuits he used to look forward to. Health checkups at six month intervals will allow your vet to quickly notice any change in your aging dog's heal so painful joints or injuries can be treated before they become severe.dog arthritis treatment canine arthritis senior dog pain dog joint pain canine joint pain hip dysplasia dog health discount dog medicine

Frontline Plus ' Posted By: Petstilt.com

Frontline Plus is the leading product for the treatment and control of fleas and ticks for your pet. It provides fast, effective and convenient treatment to prevent harmful pests from infesting your pet. The vital ingredients of Frontline Plus are fipronil and S-methoprene, a broad-spectrum insecticide that disrupts the central nervous system of fleas and ticks. Fipronil is not readily absorbed through skin so there are fewer chances of side effects as compared to systemic flea control medications.

It kills the existing fleas on your pet within 18 hours and stays waterproof for a month. Frontline Plus also controls the flea life cycle from more than one stage including the elimination of adult fleas, flea eggs and flea larvae from your dogs and cats. It protects your dogs and cats against four different species of ticks such as deer tick, brown dog tick, American dog tick and lone star tick.

Frontline Plus asserts to kill adult fleas on your pets within 18 hours of application. It is important to kill fleas before they can infest the entire house or transmit some flea-borne disease to your pet.

9 Signs That Your Dog May Have Arthritis Posted By: Joseph Wharton

Do you suspect your dog may have arthritis? Early detection and treatment are essential to minimizing the negative effects arthritis can have on your dog. So how do you know if your dog has arthritis? Your beloved dog may have some communication ability, but he or she certainly can't talk. The best thing you can do is look for common signs that many dogs exhibit when experiencing arthritis problems.

Here are 9 signs that your dog may have arthritis:

1) Favoring a limb
Your dog may favor placing weight on one limb or one side of the body because they are experiencing more pain in the other limbs.

2) Difficulty sitting or standing
Your dog is getting up more slowly than before and appears to struggle to get up. The same happens when they sit down. You dog may appear reluctant and slow to sit and may even be in obvious pain when trying to sit or stand.

3) Sleeping more
You dog seems to prefer sleep over activity.dog arthritis dog arthritis symptoms dog arthritis signs glucosamine deramaxx rimadyl cosequin

Canine Arthritis Posted By: Nick Bulka

Is your dog a little less enthusiastic about his daily walks? Is he reluctant to get up or lie down? Do his joints click as he walks? If so, there's a chance your buddy is suffering from canine arthritis.

Just as with humans, arthritis in dogs can be one of a variety of types, but the most common is osteoarthritis.

What is Osteoarthritis and what causes it?

Cartilage in joints acts as a buffer between bones. Sometimes, that cartilage degrades and deteriorates, reducing the buffer between bones, sometimes to the point where there is direct bone-to-bone contact, which is extremely painful for the dog.

There is no single cause of arthritis. Genetics and breeding have made certain breeds more susceptible to hip dysplasia, which often leads to arthritis. Obesity in dogs can also contribute to arthritic conditions. Sometimes young dogs can suffer with arthritis if their bones don't develop correctly. An injury to a limb can also result in arthritis later in life.pets dogs arthritis dog health canine

What Your Vet May Not Tell You About Rimadyl Posted By: William F. Smith

Thousands of dogs are being prescribed Rimadyl by their veterinarians to treat pain, inflammation, and canine arthritis. Many of these prescriptions are written without any blood work done to ensure the dog can tolerate the drug. Learn the facts about Rimadyl and what you should know before administering this drug to your dog.

What is Rimadyl?

Rimadyl was introduced by Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in January 1997 to help treat dogs with inflammation and pain associated with surgery or canine arthritis. Rimadyl is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) available as a prescription drug for dogs. The primary ingredient in Rimadyl is Carprofen. It is available as a caplet and chewable tablet and is given to dogs by mouth, or by injection administered by veterinarians. It has proven to be a successful means of relieving arthritis symptoms in dogs.

Is Rimadyl effective and safe?

There is no doubt as to Rimadyl's effectiveness in treating dog arthritis, but it is the potential side effects that may seriously outweigh the benefits of this drug. Many dog owners feel it has vastly improved the quality of their dog's lives and, in some cases, even extended their lives.rimadyl canine arthritis dog health canine hip dysplasia
