Sunshine Coast Tourism Bounces Back Posted By: Roger Laganin

In spite of the floods, the oil spill, and a bout of bluebottle jellyfish, not to mention the recession, Australia's Sunshine Coast recorded another bumper Easter break. Coupled with the news that the Sunshine Coast has seen Queensland's strongest growth for business visitors in the last financial year, the region has much to celebrate.

Figures from the Queensland Business Events Survey show 20,000 business visitors came to the region, spending a minimum average of almost $400-a-day. The figures are particularly significant at a time when businesses are cutting back on their conference expenditure. They demonstrate that quite often a business trip to Sunshine coast accommodation can be easily combined with a family holiday.

As a result of the unprecedented flooding in the week before Easter, there was projected gloom and doom in the region as some tourism operators were forced to close their businesses over one of the coast's busiest weekends of the year.Sunshine Coast accommodation Sunshine Coast tourism

Great Reasons To Visit Coolangatta On Your Next Holiday Posted By: Richard Greaves

Australia's Gold Coast seems to have been created just to provide you with the perfect holiday location. Just think, mile after mile of golden sands, hinterlands replete with gorgeous natural scenery, and vibrant towns and cities with all the amenities you could ask for. Coolangatta is among the most attractive of these vibrant towns and here are seven great reasons why you should head here for your next holiday.

The first great reason is the location. Situated on the Queensland and New South Wales border, Coolangatta is the gateway to the Gold Coast. It's modest in size but you'll quickly discover that Coolangatta is a small town with big city facilities

Getting there is easy too. Buses run up and down the coast, and the nearby Gold
Coast Airport handles domestic flights from around Australia, as well as international connections with New Zealand, Japan and Singapore.

Then there's the weather. Coolangatta gets plenty of sunshine all year round, on average the sun shines for 300 days each year. This means temperatures from 20C - 28C in summer and from 11C - 21C in winter.
For many holiday makers the prime reason for a visit to Coolangatta are the beaches.Cheap Hotels Cheaper Than Hotels Sydney Australia Coolangatta hotels Queensland Australia's Gold Coast

Off The Beaten Path - Traveling In Queensland, Australia Posted By: Marcela De Vivo

Travel in Hinchinbrook Island

Located in northern Queensland, Australia, Hinchinbrook Island is separated from Queensland by a narrow channel called the Hinchinbrook Channel. The town of Ingham and Cairns lie just to the south and access to the area is quite limited.

Part of the reason is that Hinchinbrook Island is a National Park, and thus strictures are put on the number and amount of tourists. That said, most people don't have any trouble making their way to this amazing island, but the people you meet will be others, who, just like you, wanted to get away from the main Queensland tourist crowds and enjoy the spectacular image of an almost untouched natural environment.

The best times to visits are May through October, which corresponds with the Australian 'winter.' These months are some of the coolest and most pleasant months, and are thus an excellent time to visit the area. Keep in mind that if you go off season, getting there will be a bit more difficult as services are limited in the off season and due to cyclone season, the ferries and one resort close down.Lodging Traveling to the island discount Travel discount hotels discount car rentals discount airline tickets

10 Things You Must Know When Camping In Bear Country Posted By: Karin Manning

Copyright 2006 Karin Manning

It goes without saying that there are risks when it comes to camping in bear country.

In fact, on 14 April 2006 this risk became a tragic fact of life when a 6 year old girl received fatal injuries from a black bear while camping.

Campgrounds are now having to incorporate policies and procedures to ensure bear conservation and safety for campers. The DEC Campgrounds in the Adirondack and Catskill Forest Preserves in New York State are two such campgrounds. Their staff have developed specific policies and procedures to minimize the occurrence of bear problems at their campgrounds while maintaining a healthy, natural black bear population.

There are eight critical ways that you can minimise the chances of getting hurt by bears by following these simple tips:

1. Avoid traditional bear feeding areas.

2. Avoid camp locations where bears have been known to roam in the past.

3. Avoid camping where you may have trouble seeing a bear through vegetation.

4. Avoid camping where you see bear droppings and fresh tracks.

5. Never feed wild bears.

6. Store your food in a cooler which is locked in the car

7.camping campsites nsw campsites victoria campsites queensland campsites Australia kol campground byron bay campsites dog friendly campsites christian
