Self Massage For Your Feet And Your Body Posted By: Ruthan Brodsky

Athletes have given themselves massages for years. Massages are usually part of the training routine for professional and college athletes. You and I will schedule a massage when we need to repair some body part or we are on vacation and massages are part of the spa package.

An increasing number of people are giving themselves a massage especially those engaged in daily workouts. I massage my back and my calves almost daily and on some days, twice, using a foam roller.

The fact is devices for self massage are more prevalent today than even two years ago. A massage may sound like a luxury, but when made part of your training program, it really becomes a good habit.

There are now more than a dozen good products that can help you give yourself a massage. There are also videos on Utube that show you how to massage yourself just using your hands or with something as benign as a foam roller. Most small balls, including golf, tennis, baseball and lacrosse balls, can help unkink sore muscles by lying on them and rolling around.

Here is a massage you can use for your calf muscles.Ruthan Brodsky self massage tight muscles foot pain foot massage foam roller plantar fasciitis

Are The Cookie Diets The Way For You To Lose Weight Posted By: Ruthan Brodsky

The marketing efforts for the cookie diets are outstanding. Film and rock star celebrities interviewed about how they lost weight eating 4 or 6 cookies each day. Video infomercials of testimonials from ordinary people losing 30 or 50 or 75 pounds on multimedia resources including YouTube and the social networking scene including Twitter and Facebook. Headlines from the NY Times and the Wall Street Journal questioning why so many people are paying so much money for a fad diet.

Here are three of my generalizations after researching the topic of cookie diets:
First, the cookie diet works for a lot of people who report losing weight;
Secondly, none, and I mean none of the nutritional authorities believe the cookie diet is the right thing to do on a long term basis and most of them say it's not a very good diet for the short term basis either. Keep in mind these are people who evaluate their information from clinical trials and research that can be duplicated. Obviously, none of this is available for any of the cookie diets. And lastly is my personal observation that I do not remember any other kind of diet receiving so much celebrity attention.Ruthan Brodsky cookie diet losing weight low calorie metabolism meal replacement

Pyxism Or Mor Vacations? Posted By: Suite Lifestyle

MOR Vacations vs. Pyxism

What is MOR Vacations and Pyxism and is now the time to join a travel related MLM and begin creating wealth and multiple streams of income?

The latest recession brought a stunning growth in home based business. Every week, 177,000 people begin a business venture from the comfort of their home. At any given moment, literally millions of people are scouring the internet looking for the same solution, how to make money online from home.

The answer for many has been Network Marketing. A detailed look at the history of Network Marketing dating back to 1937 shows a dramatic boom of the MLM business during every past recession. And now with the internet, attraction marketing, and web 2.0, MLM has become an easier and more comfortable business solution.

In addition, a Baby Boomer will retire every 8 seconds for the next eighteen years. Baby Boomers want the supplemental income that can come from a home-based business, and they love to travel. The perfect marriage may very well be a Travel MLM such as Pyxism or MOR Vacations. Keep in mind that 53% of all money spent on the Internet is spent on travel.pyxism mor vacations attraction marketing creating wealth multiple streams of income mlm network marketing make money online MLM business Lloyd C.
How To Get Started With Physical Activity Posted By: Ruthan Brodsky

If you are thinking about adding physical activity to your life, but not sure how to get started, even with all the options that are so readily available, it is time to acknowledge that you are having a tough time taking that first step. Let me help you get over this hump. First, jot down 4 reasons why you have not been physically active. Then come up with four responses to these excuses to get past those reasons
Telling yourself that you have not been active in a long time and it does not make sense for you to change at this time in your life is a very popular reason for not getting active. Now, try doing something you really enjoy to get you started. It may be skipping, riding a bike, walking in a mall or doing dance aerobics in a class.Another good excuse is saying you do not have enough time. I bet you could come up with three 10-minute time frames for being physical. Walk up and down 4 flights of stairs as many times as you can in those 10 minutes.Ruthan Brodsky staying active foot pain exercising strength training obesity muscles

Boosting Quality Of Life With Tips For Healthy Aging Posted By: Bob Danes

Wellness is not just about not being ill. Concentrating on being healthy and caring for yourself puts you in a place where you are practicing prevention and health. A number of health and wellness guidelines for healthy aging are available here that will make a difference in the quality of your life.

When it comes to self care, this means: eating healthy foods, exercising, awareness of stress, stress reduction and meeting with a group regularly to encourage community sharing and support.

Health means several different things including: reducing threat for disease, treating and preventing injuries, monitoring possible health and safety hazards and using health care as a means of prevention.

Over the last century, life expectancy has increased by 62%. With the arrival of genetic engineering, another dramatic increase in health and extended life can be expected.

Descriptions of aging no longer include pain, disability, depression or retirement. Perception about the aging process has changed drastically. Living longer, happier and better lives is now an element of the aging process. It is very common to achieve our objectives and live full lives as we healthfully age.boomer health Health healthy aging healthy eating

Cardiovascular Fitness For Health And Good Living Posted By: Ruthan Brodsky

Everyone agrees that it is important to be physically fit. However, the answers are many and varied for questions such as:
What exactly should we strive for?
And how do we get there?

Again, like so much of everything in life, the answer is not black or white. For example, if you are active in a sport such as tennis or golf or jogging, each of these has specific training regimens designed to enable players to safely meet the demands of that sport. Most of us, however, are more concerned about health related physical fitness, those actions that help us stay independent and increase our resistance to disease, injury and pain.

For healthy aging we need to be cardiovascular fit, have muscle strength and endurance, and be flexible and well balanced. I hope this does not sound out of your ability because it is not. Addressing all these fitness factors will take effort on your part, there is no mistake about that, but it can be done.

Cardiovascular fitness is a measure of how well you are respiratory and circulatory systems supply oxygen and fuel to your different demands.Ruthan Brodsky cardio cardiovascular fitness heart rate aerobically fit exercise aerobically fit

Working After Retirement Can Solve Your Financial Woes Posted By: Ruthan Brodsky

Working after retirement can be exciting. After all you have the thrill of the hunt, looking for a job, and the expectation of reentering the workforce. You have also been told that people who work in their area of expertise after they retire usually enjoy better physical and mental health than those who stop working completely.

If you are thinking about going back to work you should have a good understanding of your current financial situation. Can you make ends meet right now? Will your new employment require commuting and additional expense for your car? Will you need to update your working wardrobe? In other words, what financial arrangements do you need to make so that reentering the work force will be a success.

You also need to have a good understanding of your home and family lifestyle. For example, have you been baby sitting for your grandchildren? Going back to work means you probably will not be able to give that kind of time to your daughter. What arrangements have the two of you made? Or what about that dog you purchased for your first retirement.Ruthan Brodsky retirement working after retirement expertise outside contractor start your own busi

The Calcium Question Resolved With Vitamin D Posted By: Ruthan Brodsky

Calcium supplementation is no longer the first defense for preventing osteoporosis if someone does not have adequate vitamin D levels. Indeed, there is a growing consensus in the medical community that we need to increase the recommended daily intake of vitamin D as the premiere nutrient in the battle against osteoporosis.

Not too long ago the guidelines for calcium were that adults under age 50 need 1,000 mg of calcium daily and adults age 50 and over need 1,200 mg of calcium daily. For years, women have been hammered on that they are not getting enough calcium so it is not unusual for many to take 1500 mg or more a day just in supplement form. The problem is most women get about 600 to 750 mg of calcium in their diet. Doubling that amount is clearly overkill.

There is not much evidence that too much calcium does any good and, although it may not be harmful, it can be constipating. Part of the problem is that the science behind calcium supplementation is not simple. In fact, recent research seems to offer opposite answers about whether you should or should not take extra calcium.Ruthan Brodsky calcium vitaminD osteoporosis calcium supplements vitaminD supplements

Some Natural Anti-aging Supplements Posted By: Uchenna Ani-Okoye

The generation that is responsible for the future doubling of our nation's aged citizen population, or baby boomers, were born at the time of the successful economy at the end of World War II. These baby boomers are very interested in anti-aging methods and anti-aging natural supplements uncommitted that will be beneficial to them.

It has become a major concern since the nation's elderly citizen population is sure to double. With this in mind, researchers are working on ways to address menopause, prolong adept vision and promote prostate health. It is good to realize that we have been provided with anti-aging natural supplements, compliments of Mother Nature. These anti-aging natural supplements are abundantly usable and very inexpensive.

Fruits and Vegetables

It is comforting to realize that there are completely instinctual ways with which we can promote good health as we age. It is both instinctual and practical to detect substances that can be found easily in the nutrients that we already eat. Eating fruits and vegetables is easily the most natural thing that we can eat that contains anti-aging instinctual supplements. We also know that most fruits are high in vitamin C;Some Natural Anti-Aging Supplements Anti-Aging Supplements

Are You Looking For A Anti Aging Cream? Posted By: Uchenna Ani-Okoye

Financial Planning For A Secure Retirement Posted By: Chris tyreel

There are several new realities that have been driven home by this latest recession to far too many people. One of them is that so many investment shelters of the past that have always been viewed as secure are not. Take your home as a fine example. For decades it's just been accepted as fact that home values just go up other then in economic slow times when they can tend to stagnate.

Sure some housing values have declined in the past in areas that have become blighted. However; the past few years has seen premium housing in some of the most desirable areas drop in value by as much as half in many instances. What this means for many homeowners who are now approaching retirement, is that a home alone cannot be relied on as a financial parachute like it once could be.

Also stock prices have been predicted to decline somewhat as more baby boomers entered retirement and began to liquidate their 401K stock investment portfolios. No one could have predicted the nose dive that stocks took over these past two years that left so many retirees portfolios completely decimated just when they needed them most.Holistic Financial Planning Financial Life Coach Financial

Understanding Baby Boomer Health Cost Issues Posted By: Terry Stanfield

Taking a look at baby boomer health cost factors is necessary because this huge demographic composed of people born between 1945 and 1964 is beginning to move into the retired sector. They also constitute the largest age demographic in the country's history and as they continue to get older they will also continue to need ever increasing levels of health care delivery.

Just about everything that the boomer demographic does, as a matter of fact, affects society as a whole. Though it doesn't mean to, the fact that the size of the boomer demographic is so huge means that many resources tend to be devoted to its care and feeding, to use a phrase. This is no different for health care, where boomer activities from youth and adulthood are beginning to cause health issues.

For example, consider that boomers are accessing health care to address knee and hip problems more than ever before. The costs of providing hip or knee replacements are huge, for one thing. With more boomers than ever before needing such replacement, the strain on the health system is growing more severe with each passing year.long term care insurance budgeting for retirement baby boomers seniors health financial planning

Taking A Look At Baby Boomer Health Cost Posted By: Terry Stanfield

Understanding baby boomer health cost issues is more important today than ever before, especially as this huge age demographic begins to increasingly move into the retirement years. Those born between 1945 and 1964 constitute the single largest bloc of people in the country. And as they continue to age they will require more and more healthcare in greater numbers than ever before.

As with almost anything to do with the boomers, their collective movement has a deep impact on our whole society. Because this demographic is so large, it tends to get what it wants in terms of just about everything, including access to health care. For example, boomers tended to be extremely active in their youth and adulthood and are beginning to see a number of orthopedic problems.

Because all of that activity tends to extract a toll on people, there seems to be a rise in the need for hip replacements and knee replacements on people who banged their bodies around recklessly when they were younger. This is placing a strain on the health care system and is requiring reform sooner rather than later. Also, Medicare is increasingly shaky and probably won't be sufficient in the future.long term care insurance budgeting for retirement baby boomers seniors health financial planning

Baby Boomer Health Cost Factors Posted By: Terry Stanfield

Baby boomer health cost factors are coming more and more to the forefront of any discussion on controlling health care costs in this country. That is because this important age demographic (those people born between 1945 and 1964) is one of the largest blocks of people in this country. They are also entering their retirement years at ever increasing numbers, and will require health care more often.

Just as with everything else to do with boomers, the movement of their demographic affects our society as a whole. In other words; what the boomers want, the boomers get and this is no different for healthcare than it is for just about anything else. Consider that many boomers who were extremely active in their younger years are now experiencing certain orthopedic issues, for example.

What this means is that the physical toll that this focus on activities that were physical in nature is beginning to manifest itself in hip and knee replacements, which are becoming an increasingly large proportion of the medical procedures that are being performed on boomers as they age. A single knee replacement can cost a princely sum of money and imagine what a double knee replacement runs.long term care insurance budgeting for retirement baby boomers seniors health financial planning

The Rising Cost Of Health Care Posted By: Terry Stanfield

Taking a look at the rising cost of health care reveals an industry that is definitely in need of reform, though the question of how exactly to go about reforming it is currently a matter of great debate in this country. Understanding the factors that go into causing these across-the-board costs can be important and should be studied if there is any hope in accomplishing that goal.

First of all, understand that what we consider "health care costs" are comprised of an almost endless array of factors that go into these costs. When it may take several billion dollars to develop and then bring to market a single prescription medication, it is easy to see how the price for that drug may be high and who eventually ends up paying to cover those development costs (the user).

Another input factor that causes health care costs to rise has to do with innovation and invention.long term care insurance budgeting for retirement baby boomers seniors health financial planning
