Making Sure Your Vessel Is Ready For A Marine Survey Posted By: Marinetrader

You have received an offer for your boat; the buyer is now organizing the marine survey. The survey is an in depth inspection of your yacht and can be the make or break part of the contract. Therefore planning for the particular survey ought to be taken seriously. Marine surveyors hope for a clean, well taken care of yacht; it sets the atmosphere for the inspection. I have had a lot more than a couple of surveyors say to me that they can often know what they really are about to discover by how a vessel appears on the dock. A surveyor is going to come across those items that don't function and notify the buyer. If items do not run, any prospective purchaser will assume the worst and likely be looking for an allowance for new equipment. It really is much less complicated and less expensive to fix everything before surveying the vessel than to pay to have it repaired later. Plus, once your vessel is inspected by a probable buyer, if everything operates, your sale is nearly in the bag.marine survey marine surveyor

2012, The Year Of Dragon, What You Need To Know About Dragon In Vietnam Posted By: lanhnguyen

In Asian myths, no creature is as impressive as the dragon. For Vietnamese peasants, the dragon was a vivid symbol of the fourfold deity-clouds, rain, thunder and lighting. Represented by an S shape, dragons are depicted on artifacts dating back to the Dong Son-Au Lac culture, which existed in northern Vietnam in the first millennium B.C. Later came the cult of Tu Phap, or the Four Miracles. Long ago stargazers identified the Dragon constellation made up of seven stars arranged like an S. The brightest star is the Mind (Tam), also known as the Divine (Than) star. The word Than may also be read as Thin (Dragon), which denotes the third month of the lunar calendar and represents the Yang vital energy.

Dragons were also associated with kingship. Every Vietnamese person knows the legend of Lac Long Quan and Au Co. Lac Long Quan (King Dragon of the Lac Bird Clan) is known as the forefather of the Vietnamese people. He is said to have been the son of a dragon, while his wife, Au Co, was the child of a fairy.vietnam vacation travel agent in vietnam vietnam tour vietnam package holiday vietnam travel agent vietnam travel agency vietnam adventure tour

3 Villages Not To Miss In Hanoi Posted By: lanhnguyen

Van Phuc Silk Village
During their stay in Hanoi, most tourists insist on a trip to Van Phuc Silk Village, the famous silk village of Hanoi to contemplate the genuine traditional silk-making industry.

Van Phuc Silk Village is situated on the banks of Nhue Thi River, Nguyen Trai Road, near Ha Dong city, 8 km southwest of Ha Noi. It takes you only 30 minutes by motorbike to go there from the centre of Hanoi. The village has been much well known for its traditional sericulture, weaving, and silk products. Tourists coming here are lured by various beautiful shirts, crafts, ties, dresses and many other things made of silk available in the village. What is special is that the silk is made by very simple looms, which is the genuinely traditional Vietnamese way of making silk.

For centuries, silk has always been considered an extreme luxury, on par with rhinoceros horn, ivory and precious handworks in Vietnam. It has long been a universal byword of luxury, often worn by the richest, most powerful citizens. Most visitors somehow have heard about the significant role of this kind of material in Vietnam, yet might wonder where the cradle of Viet silk is.vietnam vacation travel agent in vietnam vietnam tour vietnam package holiday vietnam travel agent vietnam travel agency vietnam adventure tour

Norman Island, British Virgin Islands Posted By: Leigh Woeller

A trip to the Virgin Islands can be many things; fun, exciting, relaxing, adventurous, and even romantic. For all those things, we recommend a visit to Norman Island in the British Virgin Islands. Reputed to be the inspiration for Robert Louis Stenvenson's famous book, Treasure Island, Norman Island is the thing that adventure is made of--pristine beaches, soft and powdery white sand, clear calm waters, offshore ridges and a very lucrative history "" one of famous pirates and hidden treasure.

Located at the southern tip of the British Virgin Islands, Norman Island is one of the "must see" places while on the archipelago. Privately owned and uninhabited except for Pirate"s Bight restaurant and gift shop, Norman Island"s romantic history and beautiful calm bays are not to be missed.

The Bight is one of the more popular spots in the island. A large and well secured anchorage where you can anchor off the beach on your private charter boat and swim about its crystal clear water off to the shore, or pull up to the dock and walk onto the beach or to Pirate"s Bight for an unforgettable lunch of West Indian cusine.

Just south of the beach lies excellent snorkeling.Norman Island British Virgin Islands BVI Pirates Paradise

Grand Canyon Helicopters - A Review Of Papillon's West Rim Flights Posted By: Keith Kravitz

Papillon Helicopters is the largest provider of Grand Canyon helicopter trips. The company provides trips to the West Rim and the South Rim. I've flown Papillon to both destinations. Here's my no-nonsense report on my West Rim trip.

I reserved by far the most complete trip Papillon offers. It included a descent to the bottom, a 30-minute Grand Canyon smooth-water float trip, and passes to the Grand Canyon Skywalk.

The trip comes with complimentary hotel pick up and drop off. My driver picked me up just as planned and got me to the heliport promptly. I selected a morning flight for optimum visibility. I also upgraded my chopper to an EcoStar 130. It's a bigger aircraft and features theater-style seating. It's also a more stable, less noisy ride and comes with wraparound windows.

I hit the sky with 5 other excited passengers. Maximum occupancy in helis is six people. I'm 6'-4" and had plenty of legroom. I wasn't squishing my neighbor either. Each of us had our very own personal headset. You can use it to hear a pre-recorded tour narration (translated into 10 languages!) or chat with your pilot and fellow passengers.grand canyon helicopters papillon tours flights rides

A Demon And A Dragon Posted By: Aage Kold Jensen

The adventure of Beowulf's war against the half-demon Grendel unfolds in the year 507 AD in Denmark. It is a legend of courage, power and above all vanity in this awesome adventure movie from 2007. Read on for the full Beowulf summary.

King Hrothgar governs his land justly but firmly. For his courageous warriors he has constructed a new and magnificent mead hall for them to drink, sing, dance and tell tales of heroic deeds in. In here, spirits are high and the warriors can celebrate until morning or until they keel over from drinking.

A scene like that is taking place at the start of the story, yet no one are aware of a dark cave relatively close by wherein a demon dwells. His name is Grendel and he is in excruciating pain. His ears are tremendously sensitive and the noise from the mead hall is unbearable for him.

Grendel smashes the door to the hall and spreads death and destruction among the men and women in the hall, murdering in the most cruel ways imaginable.beowulf summary

Why Visit Djibouti? Posted By: Phil Marks

Djibouti is a nation situated on the Horn of Africa, next to the strategically important Bab el Mandeb (Gate of Tears), which guards access to the Red Sea from the Indian Ocean via the Gulf of Aden. Twenty miles to the east, across the entrance to the Red Sea, lies the Yemen.

This compact republic has several unique features which make a visit very worthwhile. Once a French colonial outpost, it retains many French connections and cultural aspects.

Geography

The size of the US State of Massachusetts, the country has a coastal plain backed by stony desert (where the French Foreign Legion trains), with scattered plateaux and highlands - especially the Goda Massif in the north of the country.

It is bordered on the north by Eritrea, the west by Ethiopia and on the south by Somalia, and embraces the Gulf of Tadjoura. This Gulf leads via the Ghoubbet Pass into Lake Ghoubbet (the Devil's Cauldron).

One of the least hospitable places on earth, Lake Assal is a crater lake surrounded by dormant volcanoes and black lava fields.Djibouti Djibouti Francolin whale shark gate of tears bab el mandeb Yemen Gate of Tears Bab el Mandeb camp lemonnier red sea

First Descent Of The Thompson River In 1828 Posted By: Dirk Perry

It started, as many great things do, as an adventure in capitalism. Hudson"s Bay Governor George Simpson, a short, intense balding man, stood on the banks of British Columbia"s Thompson River, preparing for the waterway"s first ever descent.

To his right would have been the tall heat-baked hills of Kamloops, with towering black rocks and tall spires of white clay. To his left were hills covered in bunch grass, their brown blades speckled with water from an uncharacteristic fall rain.

Driving Simpson"s haste was a powerful mix of fear, ego, and greed. As the new governor of the largest company in North America, Simpson was in a desperate race to preserve the Hudson"s Bay"s dominance of the fur trade. The United States, then only slightly more than 50 years old, was beginning to flex its nascent muscles, threatening to establish a border that would remove the Bay"s access to the mouth of the Columbia River, killing a vital trade route that would block the company"s entire western fur trade.River Rafting Thompson River white water rafting

Scuba Diving In San Diego: 5 Best Places Posted By: Pat Lindle

San Diego has one of the more fascinating shorelines in America. You can scuba from the beach or the boat and can always find something interesting. If you are interested in scuba diving off the San Diego Coastline read on.

1. The Kelp Forests - The Kelp beds of both La Jolla and Point Loma can be one of the most amazing boat diving experiences you could ever imagine. It will be like traveling through a forest, only underwater. You may even get a visit from a seal or two on your dive adventure. Once you are down about 20' you will see the rock bed that is home to the Lobsters and Sea Hares. This is a wonderful spot for underwater photography. You can make it a day trip and the area has the best visibility rating in the area, boasting clear waters for up to depths of 150'. The farther down you go the better the chances of your encountering Horn Sharks, Sea Lions and that beautiful purple coral that is only found in these waters.

2. Wreck Alley - This is a bevy of reefs that were made one mile off the coast.scuba diving san diego california scuba diving scuba san diego diving in san diego

Wildlife Tours Are No Less Than Temple Tours Posted By: HTOIndia

Are you one of those who think that taking a visit to temples or floating around in a boat in some river is better than taking a wildlife tour? If you answered yes, you might be mistaken. You might not have taken a tour of wildlife to take a look at the various moods of human being.

No wonder, most of the people think that there is nothing to be seen in the wildlife tours! But this is not the truth. There is lot to be seen if you take a close look at all the adventure tours. India is famous for the diversities of people, fauna and flora. The latter diversity is quite evidently shown in the host of wildlife tours offered by HTO India Tour Operators.

The varying climatic conditions have given rise to different ideal conditions for various animals all around the world. This is the reason that no particular animal is found in plenty in Indian dense forests. You may find varieties of fauna in India Tour but none of them are in abundance. It is better to see different things rather than keeping your eye on the quantity.Wildlife Tour India India Wildlife Tour India Tour Operator India Tour Packages Tour Operators in India India Holiday Packages

Luxury At A (relatively) Low Cost Posted By: catsuit

Time was when all a man could hope for under the Christmas tree were some handkerchiefs or a tie and maybe some golfballs if he was lucky. In our media- and product-savvy world, those days are over.
While exchanging holiday gifts isn't all about receiving the most expensive present -- although one wishes Lycra Leggings was -- the thing to remember is that while it is, of course, the thought that counts, that thought, no matter how high, can be expressed at relatively low cost.
Take Hermes, for example, a luxury name that is synonymous with discretion and lots of figures to the left of the decimal point, but one that is also accessible at affordable prices. From the "Pousse-pousse," a simple and unfussy wristband in matte steel and leather (217, or $280), to silk-lined leather gloves (350) and a butter-soft iPod holder in practically transparent leather (285) via a multipurpose fold-up tool, the Kifaitou, which, as the slangy French moniker says, really does do everything (starting at 268) -- these are small personal pieces to fit simply into the life of the most discriminating man.
