Setting Up A Terrarium For Your Reptile Posted By: Tristan Andrews

A terrarium is similar to an aquarium except that it isn't full of water and fish. It's a tank made of glass or plastic with a wire mesh lid. The mesh allows air to come in and keeps the reptile from escaping.

Reptiles are cold-blooded, unable to make their own body heat, which is why it is hard for them to move around if the temperature isn't right in their environment. Reptiles lay eggs to hatch their babies. Unlike human babies, which are dependent at birth, reptile babies are born ready to care for themselves.

A successful terrarium is set up with the proper heat source for temperature perfection. A thermostat will ensure the correct temperature at all times. Reptiles need a basking lamp to sunbathe and a light tube for ultraviolet rays.

It sounds expensive and complicated to a beginner, and it very well may be depending on what your idea of expensive is. But once your terrarium is set up, the biggest hurdle is being able to afford the proper food and bedding.reptilesreptilepetsturtleslizardssnakescrocodilesalligators

Keep Your Dog Warm In Winter Posted By: Tristan Andrews

Some dogs need a little extra help to stay warm in the winter time. Whether your dog lives outdoors or you have a small, short coated breed, here are some ideas to help you keep your dog snug when it's cold outside.

If you have a small breed or one that has short hair, or a breed with thin skin such as an Italian Greyhound, you may want to think about buying a jacket to keep him warm. In some places you may even want to think about getting your dog a sweater during the autumn and buying something warmer when it gets colder. When you think about getting something for your dog to wear keep in mind that it will need to be something simple and easy for you to put on your dog. If it has lots of buttons or zippers your dog may not hold still for you to get him into it.

Some dogs may need to get used to the idea of wearing clothing. In fact, some dogs don't like the idea of getting dressed up, so take your time and let your dog get used to the sensation of wearing outerwear slowly.dogdogscaninepuppies

Do Not Leave Home Without Your Travel Neck Pillows Posted By: Phoenix Delray

Just about everyone has tried at some point to take a journey in some mode of transportation that lasted for hours and hours, and many people do not realize ahead of time the need for good travel neck pillows to keep them comfortable and happy! There are tons of different types of cushions that people have used for this purpose, and while some are very positive and have really been important to travelers in their quest to stay comfortable, others have disappointed and come up with slews of side effects and bad reputations.

One of the most commonly reported problems that people have while traveling is that their necks become sore, stiff and difficult to move. The neck is a vital part of the body that too many people do not take proper care of. Suffering through a night of bad sleep can not only make the neck hurt but can send the entire body into a state of misalignment, causing pain and discomfort from head to toe that can potentially last for days.travel neck pillows

How To Effectively Potty Train Your Child Posted By: Harrison Fray

Many parents experience the challenge of potty training their little ones. It can get frustrating most of the time and the child can become bored with the routine that most parents are using. But this should not be because there are some strategies that can effectively potty train your child.

For first-time parents, particularly the mothers, the right age for a child to potty train may vary. Many experienced moms would advise you to potty train your child at least 1 year old or before 2 years old. Again it varies and it usually depends on how your child will respond to the training and how you administer it.

First thing to do is to observe your child is he/she is ready for potty training. An inquisitive child less than 2 years old can show signs of interest on what the adults do, so take this opportunity to explain to your child where the poop and pee go. Once you have established his/her interest on this subject, you can apply the "sit and change" technique which is basically sitting his/her down every diaper change.

Next thing to do is to use rewards for every job well done.potty trainingpotty traineffectively potty trainfull potty training

Top 5 Tips In Setting Up Your Baby's Nursery Posted By: Harrison Fray

It is an exciting time to prepare your baby's nursery but knowing the right time is also important. Some parents may choose to have it done while the mother has just received the good news that she's pregnant. Other parents prefer to set up the baby's nursery together with the construction and interior design of their homes.

Normally if you plan and set-up the nursery in advance, neutral colors are incorporated to ensure that the room will fit the baby's gender. White, beige and cream are the most common color schemes for a neutral room. A few updating once the baby's gender is determined can be done to make sure that the room is comfy and appropriate.

Once you've determined the gender of your baby, it's ideal to plan the completion of the interiors and purchase other necessities for the nursery.

Here are top 5 tips in setting-up your baby's nursery for its completion to make it baby-ready:

1. If you haven't selected the right furniture yet for your little one, make sure that you prioritize the bigger furniture pieces first and foremost.nurserynursery roombaby roomroom decorating

Top Ways Parents Can Reason With Their Toddler Posted By: Harrison Fray

Dealing with toddlers may be a hard and difficult thing to do especially for first-time parents. As kids grow up to be toddlers, the latter start to understand their surroundings more and most of them may use tantrums or crying as a means of getting what they want. Such situations may be awkward and embarrassing especially if done in a public place. So to help give you an idea, here are some ways in which you can try reasoning out with your toddler:

1. Avoid responding with corporal punishment - More and more experts are agreeing that corporal punishment is an ineffective way of getting kids to listen to you. They may stop what they are doing for fear of the pain but it would not effectively make them understand why they are doing something wrong. Moreover, hitting the child may just cause more fuss as they cry from the physical pain you have caused.

2. Speaking is the way to go - You might need loads of patience and the right voice intonation to be able to reason out with your toddler.parenting helpparenting issueschild behavior

The World Of Fabrics Posted By: Gail Logan

Home decorating fabrics are meant to compliment a room. Beautiful fabrics can improve any space. Home decorating fabrics are used in upholstery, couch covers, slip-covers, bed coverings, window treatments, table coverings, etc. A room without home decorating fabric is plain with a cold feeling. Using home decorating fabrics, a space can be transformed into an inviting, warm and cozy place to relax and enjoy with family and friends.

Because home decorating fabrics are an essential part of decorating a space, it is important to choose those that correspond with the other objects in the room. There are plenty of home decorating themes to choose from. Each of them has their own color and style for home decorating fabrics. With a theme to guide you, choosing home decorating fabrics shouldn't pose a problem.familyhomekidsrecreationhomeschoolingeducationdecoratinghome improvement

Tips On Transforming Your Children' Posted By: Tex

It turns out you can actually save yourself a lot of time and money in the future if you pick items that will easily transition with your children through the various stages of growth. Believe it or not, the items you buy when your child is an infant could still work for that child when they are a teenager. When designing a great room that easily accommodates your children at different ages, you have to consider the bed first. This is often the attracting feature that draws the eye when you walk into a room, and it needs to be the most welcoming aspect of the room.

The tips presented here should help you pick bedding that gives a more original spin on your child's room, and which can easily be used at different ages and stages of development. Combine Colours Uniquely: One mistake that parents sometimes make is to use one solid colour as the basis of all decorations for a child's room. Not only can this get quite boring with time, but children often do not feel content with the colour choice as they grow older.<a href="http://www.articlesnatch.com/topic/Children"s+bedroom+furniture" rel="tag">Children"s bedroom furniture<a href="http://www.articlesnatch.com/topic/kid"s+bedroom+furniture" rel="tag">kid"s bedroom furniture<a href="http://www.articlesnatch.com/topic/children"s+bedroom+decor" rel="tag">children"s bedroom decor

What Fabrics Are Used To Make Duvet Covers? Posted By: Avery Parker

Duvet Covers come in a wide variety of sizes and designs and are made with a great variety of fabrics today. This article will give an overview of some of the different kinds of materials that are currently used as well as their advantages and disadvantages. For those of you that don't yet know what a duvet cover is, the duvet is a somewhat like a quilt which was traditionally filled with down. These days the duvet can be filled with a wide variety of materials including down, and a variety of man made and natural fibers. The duvet is typically used in place of any other type of bedding and a duvet cover is used to both protect the duvet and keep it clean and as a fashionable addition to your bedroom and it's decor.

Silk is a popular fibre for it's unmatched smoothness and luxurious feel. Today duet covers are made with silk and it can give a luxurious feel like no other fabric. One of the disadvantages is the price. It is always best to make sure that any type of bedding that you buy for your room or any other bedroom in the house fits well and is the correct size.modern bed linens

Prepare Your Pets For Guy Fawkes Posted By: M. Carden-Edwards

Prepare your pets for Guy Fawkes
For pet owners, Guy Fawkes can be an anxious time as they worry about the safety and well-being of their animals. The barrage of unpredictable loud explosions frightens pets and can cause panic attacks, depression and even phobias. Responsible pet owners must plan in advance.
Now is the time to take steps to prepare your pet, especially as some of the most effective strategies need a few days to work. Managing Director of local pet supply specialist Seapets, Jerry Arnold gives his top tips for ensuring your pet stays safe and healthy during the firework season:
1.Ahead of the firework season, get your pet into a new routine: if they normally go outside at night start bringing them in. Make a comfortable "den" in a warm part of the house away from windows and doors. An animal bed, blanket and favourite toy will help encourage them to sleep there and provide a familiar place to retreat.
2.3 to 4 weeks before Guy Fawkes, fit your dog or cat with a Beaphar calming collar.PetPet HealthCatDogGuy FawkesFireworks Pets

Mattress Covers: Protecting Your Investment Posted By: Chris Cornell

Purchasing bedding can be a large investment and the lifespan of that bedding is directly related to how well we care for it. Obviously the better care we take care of our furniture, and all of our possessions, the longer they will last. Purchasing an impermeable mattress cover, to protect the lifespan of your mattress is a huge step in the right direction.
It is generally accepted that most people spend as much as a third of their lifespan in bed. That adds up to a great deal of wear and tear on your mattress. It is important to spend as much effort in protecting your mattress as you spend protecting the rest of the furniture in your home. Using an impermeable mattress cover can prevent damage that inevitably comes from moisture, mould or bed bugs and dust mites, which can affect your health; your good nights sleep as well as your investment.
Water damage, which can lead to mould damage, is one obvious reason to cover your mattress. Spilling water or other liquids is not the only way moisture can seep into your mattress, staining is and leading to other problems.mattress covers

Mattress Covers Block Allergens Posted By: Chris Cornell

Any one who suffers from allergies knows exactly how hard it is to get good nights sleep because of the sneezing, runny nose and itching. Spending all night dealing with these problems is an unfortunate part of life. What most people do not know, however, is that their restful haven has become a haven for those same allergens that have been plaguing them. Dust, dust mites and pollen can cause hay fever and other types of allergies.
According to recent studies published in the Textile Research Journal 2009, tightly woven materials, with a thread count of above 250, and a pore size of between 2-10 microns, blocked 99% of dust mite allergens and blocked penetration of 100% of dust mites. In the study, 53 different mite proof covers were tested from 10 different countries. Each sample was composed of tightly woven, film/membrane coated woven, non-woven, membrane-coated non-woven plastic and other fabrics. Three regular cotton sheets were also tested for comparison.
Keep in mind that all of the products tested were specifically marketed to prevent dust mites and their allergens from infiltrating consumer bedding.mattress coversallergens.
