Top 10 Reasons To Choose Spain As Your Holiday Destination Posted By: Emma Harltey

The popular European destination, Spain has long been one of the top countries in Europe to be visited by millions of holiday makers year upon year. But what is it that keeps them coming back? If you are a virgin to Spain and it's Islands and would like to know what all the fuss is about, read on of our Top 10 reasons to visit Spain.

Food and Drink

When you ask most people what food reminds them of Spain, it is of course the World known Paella. Rich in flavor and full of colors, it is one of Spain's most traditional platters. There is also tortilla de patatas (Potato Omelet), the melt in your mouth Serrano ham and the huge range of seafood and fish dishes.

And it would not be the same without something to wash it all down with. A glass of Sangria, a Rioja or one of the best cherry's in the World from Jerez. If you are looking for something a little less strong, ask for a "Tinto de verano", Summer wine to you and me, it is refreshing and you will not get too tipsy on it.reasons spain top 10 holiday destination culture spanish

Spy Novels Research In Morocco Posted By: James Marinero

Why go cruising in North Africa? I cruised the coast in the autumn of 2010, just before the Tunisian revolution, whilst researching locations for spy novels. If you own a yacht and are thinking about sailing in the Mediterranean, then give a thought to cruising the North African coast. Yes, it has some challenges, but if you've cruised the Spanish coast and the Balearics, you will have learned that coast has its difficulties too - not least of which is finding a mooring in high season. It is very different in North Africa.

Along the Maghreb, prevailing winds in summer months are broadly easterly, and in the winter season from the west. The autumn is a particularly good time of year to cruise, when the winds arestaring to go westerly and the air is not as stifling as in the summer - there tends to be more breeze and less motoring if you are a sailor. Obviously though, the wind direction better suits a West-East passage in the autumn.

The exotic city of Tangier is the first port of call as you enter the Straits of Gibraltar approaching the Pillars of Hercules.spy novels spy novel thriller novel cruising Tunisia cruising Morocco yacht cruising

Boost The Spain Property Posted By: Goerg Hall

According to the portal this look that's been noted from the time that the Spanish property market imploded; namely the dominance for the Balearics and Canary Islands, not only continued in January but became a lot more pronounced 1/3 of all enquiries into Spanish properties were for any individual islands in line with the portal.

It's interesting to evaluate how Spain regardless of bad press continues to be very irresistible to overseas buyers considering retiring or choosing a second home abroad, said Nick Marr, director while in the portal.

The alteration towards Canary and Balearic Islands could be a result of the not good press the Spanish property market has taken, he continued. People seeking away from the UK winters still see Spain such as a great place to holiday. The Canary Islands offer winter sun in addition to a housing market containing not received the negative press that mainland Spain has endured. House values on Christmas are at an all-time low along with the increase searches may well be a result of both clients survey.

Nick is acceptable about the British aspect.Spanish property Property in Spain Property for sale

Holidaying In The Eu? Make Sure You Go Ai (all Inclusive) Posted By: Jamie Hanson

In recent years, non-Euro destinations have increased in popularity as travellers seek to get more spending money for their pound. Holidays to Turkey, Egypt, Bulgaria and other countries outside of the EU have become highly sought after. But when it comes to family holidays, despite the strength of the Euro, Eu holiday spots still reign supreme.

Many families travelling with smaller children prefer to keep their flying time to a minimum, meaning that holidays to Majorca, Ibiza, Menorca, the Spanish Mainland, Portugal and France are a popular choice in the summer months.

"The Balearics are a huge hit with families," says Emily from Hays Travel, "especially Majorca. It's one of our top destinations this summer."

With two hour flights available from most UK departure airports and a coastline laced with sandy beaches, it's easy to see what makes the biggest Balearic island so desirable. But the strong Euro means that the amount of money customers spend on holiday in Majorca and other EU destinations can be very high. Hays Travel recommend combating this by booking an all inclusive holiday.EU holiday all inclusive holiday

Travel Bottles Posted By: Callum Asterman

When Wilbur Wright made the first powered flight he is said to have commented afterwards "This is all well and good. But where will people put their creams?" That's not true of course. We all know it was Orville who took to the skies first.

There are all sorts of restrictions on what can and cannot be taken on board a plane as you fly of to the Balearics or the US of A for a shopping trip. First there are the self imposed limitations. There's only so much room in your case after all those outfits, so people have always had to be careful but ruthless with what they take.

Second, there are the limits placed upon travellers by the airlines. We can only take so many bottles of certain sizes, weights and types when we fly. Sometimes it is for sound aeronautical reasons; others, you might suspect, it is to attract surcharges and fines from money-grubbing airlines (or as they put it, rewarding light travellers; take your pick).travel bottles

Spellbinding Seaside Escapes In Europe Posted By: cavin craig

Spellbinding seaside escapes in Europe attract millions of tourists each year. Most of them go to those places for twice, thrice or even for several times. The reasons for this must be best known to them. Still, it can be said with surety that the reasons for their tour repetition, sometimes even to the same destinations, are the unique aqua-region settings of the Europe. The European seaside settings do not match with their counterparts in terms of their superb brilliance, sparkling grounds, scenic beauties, and modern arrangements for the tourists.

Tourists can enjoy walking down the mile-long sandy trail, inflating the rowboats and rowing out to distances. They can spend couples of days breathing in fresh air and ensconcing themselves into the cosiness of the seaside hotels. The best season for travelling about the seaside regions in Europe spans between the months of September and October. If planning to go for spending your next vacation in Europe, then try to choose your destination at the earliest lest the accommodations in hotels in Europe should run out.Europe Travel Europe Hotels

Holiday Illness In Spain And The Balearics? Beware It Is Coming Back! Posted By: Shelley Sonnei

With the recent troubles occurring in North Africa and the Middle East many holidaymakers who were considering going on holiday to destinations such as Tunisia, Morocco and Egypt have now changed their minds and switched their attention to holiday destinations elsewhere.

Spain and the Balearic Islands look set to see an increase in the number of tourists travelling there to take their annual holiday. This increase in the number of holidaymakers will no doubt see an increase in the number of cases of holiday illness and sickness. With the rise of the package holiday and trips to Spain and in particular the Balearic Islands gaining in popularity in the late nineties, sickness and illness among holidaymakers was rife. Thousands of holidaymakers contracted illnesses during their holiday many of whom made successful holiday illness compensation claims against their Tour Operator.

During the noughties though, as holidays in cheaper destinations such as the Dominican Republic Turkey and Egypt increased in popularity this in turn saw a rise in illness outbreaks in these countries and a decrease in Spain.Spain holiday illness Holiday Illness Claims Ill in Spain

Spanish Holiday Sickness Complaints Posted By: Shelley Sonnei

With the Euro still maintaining its value, Spain is not as popular as it once was with millions of UK holiday makers flocking in their droves to places like Turkey and Egypt. With hotel operators cutting costs, will this mean increased levels of illness?

The popular Spanish holiday destinations include, the Costas including the Costa Del Sol, Costa Brava, Costa Dorada and Costa Blanc a; the Balearics including Mallorca and Ibiza and the Canary Islands including Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Tenerife.

People travelling to those destinations will think they are safe are less likely to become ill with the holiday sickness that is associated with other destinations such as the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Egypt. However, the fact that not as many people are taking their holidays to Spain may mean that hotel owners are cutting their health and safety budgets, which could lead to increases in illness for holidaymakers.

In the late 1990s there were hundreds of cases of salmonella food poisoning and cryptosporidium swimming pool sickness caused by negligent Spanish hotel operators.; mostly hitting Mallorca where there were (and still are) lots of all-inclusive resorts.First Choice Complaints Holiday Claims

The Best Tips For Planning An Overseas Holiday With Children Posted By: Henry Ashworth

Children are incredible fun when allowed to simply be children. Unfortunately those without kids of their own often frown upon sharing spaces with them on long flights or in other confined areas.

Let's be honest here, the little angels aren't always a day at the park. They may become downright obnoxious if left to their own devices.

1. Keep Travel to a Minimum: Bored children are often loud and seemingly unruly. Noise often causes people around you to react unpleasantly, no matter the age of the youngsters. Minimizing the time required for plane or bus rides also minimizes the chances that they will become bored.

2. Look for Family Friendly Locations: Many European destinations offer family friendly hotels and other lodging. Majorca, for example, is a mere 2 hour flight from the UK and offers incredible opportunities for children to be themselves.

3. Consider Renting a Villa: Villas are usually privately owned or may be in a small area with other similar villas. They're usually 3 or 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and include a private pool. A private pool should be reconsidered for people with very small children.overseas holiday with children Europe Balearic Islands family holidays Majorca

The Balearics As A Hot Destination Posted By: Tom Binns.

If you have heard anything about the Balearics, or the chain of Balearic Islands, you probably know that they are a Spanish province set out in the Western section of the Med. As Mediterranean destinations go, the Europeans have been travelling here for decades. You will never find a place quite like it, nor will you find such legend and mystery surrounding the history of an island chain.Since there is little actual information on the very earliest of the inhabitants of the chain of islands, stories and legends abound. A cast offs from a Boeotian shipwreck, many are certain that the inhabitants were originally visitors who were never intended to be there. Others claim that the island was inhabited post Trojan War era with the mission bound in discovery and conquer. In much more recent history there has been a significant fascination with the islands as a holiday destination with those from Europe. You can stop in for a convenient boat hire just as easily as you can find a party to attend. Relaxed visiting is naturally the ultimate goal, and many find the people of the island to be friendly and welcoming.travel leisure vacations holidays europe spain

Projected Top 2011 Holiday Destinations Posted By: Henry Ashworth

The Balearic Islands

The islands of Majorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera are very popular holiday spots. Many Brits and Spaniards visit the islands as a weekend getaway. The flight from many points in the UK, France and Spain is only a few hours, making the Balearics accessible any time during the year.

Majorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands, offers a higher number of resorts than Menorca or the smaller islands of Ibiza and Formentera. The two smaller islands are often the first choice for couples on honeymoon or an escape from the kids.

Turkey

Turkey provides a myriad of activities for old and young alike. Many people choose Turkey as a holiday spot for its sandy beaches while others prefer to tour historical Ottoman mosques or other historical areas. Some of the most popular destinations in Turkey are Alanya, Fethiye, Istanbul and Olympos.

Spain

Spain is among the top 5 holiday destinations in the world. Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia are very popular Spanish destinations. Many people enjoy going to Spain to visit the churches and become engrossed in the Spanish culture.

The Canary Islands

The Canaries are located off the northwest coast of mainland Africa.Formentera Turkey Hawaii Majorca vacations holidays

Ibiza Holidays - Top 10 Bars Posted By: Gavin Lapidus

With such a plethora of bars in Ibiza, knowing where the best places are is a daunting task. With this in mind I have compiled ten of the best night spots on the beautiful Balearic Island of Ibiza. I would urge you though, when you're on your Ibiza Holidays that you do a little exploring yourself too - after all that is half the fun.

1. Cafe Del Mar (San Antonio) - In spite of the the rise of its brasher newer neighbours I highly recommend you visit Cafe Del Mar. The idea is very simple, you lounge alongside the shores of the Bay of Calo des Moro in San Antonio and admire the amazing sunsets to the backdrop of eclectic and ambient music provided by the bar DJ, absolute bliss!

2. Base Bar (Ibiza Old Town) - Has been a favourite starting point to the evening for what seems like a very long time now. Situated by the Rock bar it has a very informal feel to it. An ideal place to chill out and celebrity spot.

Majorca Still Looking Good For Irish Tourists In 2011 Posted By: Henry Ashworth

The Balearic islands of Majorca, Ibiza and Menorca have long been popular with European tourists, and one important group have made Majorca their top choice for years - and early bookings for 2011 suggest the island will stay that way for Irish holidaymakers next summer.

Majorca appeals because it caters to a wide variety of tastes. Young and old, singles and families can find something to make their holidays special.

The Balearics include Menorca - also called Minorca - and Ibiza, as well as Majorca. The almost year round sunshine, immaculate beaches and natural beauty constantly beckon. Menorca alone has in excess of 100 beaches, so the only problem is choosing one. No wonder the island is also referred to as 'The Island of Pleasant Breeze.'

Other attractions and activities in Menorca include the following:

* Visits to museums: Two popular museums in Menorca are the Museu Municipal de Ciutadella and Museu de Menorca. The first has an interesting display of artifacts from when the Muslims, Romans and Talayots lived on the island.

* The Los Delfines Aquapark: Children and the young at heart will be especially happy with the offerings here.Majorca Menorca Balearic Islands Ibiza holidays vacations
