Soybeans Reduce Pain Symptoms Posted By: Dr. Victor Machione

How can soybeans act as painkillers, you may be wondering? Soy contains a very special ingredient called "genistein."Genistein has received a lot of press over the past number of years for its anti-cancer properties. But now researchers have discovered that genistein has strong anti-inflammatory powers that could fight pain in much the same way that painkillers do.

A research team investigated the ability of genistein to provide pain relief in a very tough arena: children who had to undergo multiple chemotherapy treatments. The researchers already knew that genistein sensitizes cancer cells to chemotherapy and radiation by changing cell survival pathways. But they wanted to further investigate genistein"s antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects when it came to protecting normal tissues from the adverse effects of chemotherapy and radiation.

They conducted a study in which a soy isoflavone mixture containing eight milligrams of genistein was administered to children receiving chemotherapy and/or radiation. The research team monitored the children with cancer who received their first cycle of chemotherapy without genistein and then subsequent treatments with genistein. Nine cycles of chemotherapy were administered without genistein and 57 cycles with genistein.Soybeans genistein pain relief anti-inflammatory antioxi

Some Natural Detox Methods Posted By: Zara Buckley

By the term natural detox most people understand that there's a collection of practices that are supposed to help us cleanse our bodies of toxins without relying too much on health food products. Detoxing in this context will help the skin, lungs, kidneys, liver and digestive system do their work of ridding the body of poisons.

There are many methods available that claim to help us detox the body. The most direct way is to identify the toxins that you are putting into your body and stop putting them there. Nicotine, alcohol and caffeine are the most widespread toxins but there are other substances that we actively or passively introduce into our bodies.

The stopping of smoking, coffee drinking or imbibing alcohol can be done all at once but to most people that is too ambitious. The addictive elements contained in these substances will leave the body within a day or two of our stopping the smoking or drinking but force of habit and reminders in our social lives will make it almost impossible to give up our vices all at once.

Part of giving up taking toxic substances into our bodies entails examining the food we eat.natural detox health body toxins detoxification antioxi

How To Reverse Heart Disease Posted By: Michael Sellar

In 1996 scientist Matthias Rath published a study in which an Ultrafast CT was used to scan 55 heart disease patients over the course of a year to measure calcium deposits. In this way the growth of the deposits could be measured. After this period they were given a high dose nutritional supplement containing about 30 different nutrients to take each day for a year. They were scanned at six month and twelve months.

After the first 6 months, growth was slowed a little. But after 12 months there was a considerable drop in the growth of atherosclerotic plaques. Before nutritional intervention the average growth was 44% a year. One year after intervention, growth had essentially stopped. In some patients, deposits reversed and disappeared. This demonstrates that heart disease is reversible.

The nutritional supplement Rath designed for this study had 4 objectives. Stabilise the artery wall. Decrease muscle tumours. Neutralise stickiness of fat molecules. Provide antioxidant protection.

Artery Wall Stability

Collagen, elastin and other connective tissues give stability to artery walls. Vitamin C and 2 amino acids are needed in optimal amounts for their production.artery arteries heart disease coronary heart disease cholesterol fat protein vitamin vitamins nutritional supplements free radicals antioxi
