My Diy Garden Tool Kit For Less Than £ 200 Posted By: Gavin BAll

To tend to the general tasks of maintaining and expanding your garden there is an essential Garden Tools purchase List you'll need. As cost and quality can complicate the purchase decision, let My DIY Garden to show you how we would acquire this kit for below GBP 200.

We think that a gardener's basic tool kit ought to consist of: a lawnmower, a wheelbarrow, a hoe plus a rake, a spade plus a fork. With these tools in your shed you should be in a position to perform the essential garden tasks.

The lawnmower - Deciding what lawn mower is suitable for you can seem relatively tough. The key factors that have to be taken into consideration are; first, the size of your lawn. A small lawn would be close to half the size of a tennis court while a large lawn would be at least the size of one tennis court. Second, does your garden slope or are there any large obstacles that will make your lawn tough to cut?

With this know-how at hand you might be better positioned to make an informed purchase selection about what basic sort of lawn mower would match your specifications.Garden Hand Tools Garden Tools UK Garden Tools List

What Is Mass Customization? Posted By: Neil Maycock

Mass Customization is a popular word in the world of ecommerce but what exactly does it mean?

Mass Customization can mean anything from personalization to ecommerce configurators that tailor a purchase according to the client needs. Product configurators can aid the sales funnel as customers are presented with a wide range of choices, colours, styles and sizes. For example mass customization has been in a place for a number of years in the kitchen and bathroom industry. Specialised software that can be customized to place baths, kitchen units and sinks in a wide range of positions according to the customers house layout.
Making Life Easier With Power Tools Posted By: Emma McCann

The first power tool was created in Germany, by Wilhelm Fein in 1895. The drill was powered by a motor together with the weight of the person using it. Black and Decker arrived a few years after, in 1917, with a power drill which was modelled on the Colt 45. Since the original power tools were created, technology has improved and it is now possible to purchase tools which make all manner of tasks easier, whether at home or at work.

Although there are many specialised tools, the basics such as hammers and drills form the backbone of most tool boxes. As technology has progressed, these tools still have a place, but are powered with compressed air, electricity and oil. The most common power tools are powered by lightweight batteries, such as screwdrivers, drills or jigsaws, making light work of manual labour. Some heavier duty tools, such as chainsaws, run on petrol, and are therefore much more powerful and suited to bigger jobs.

Power tools are essential for many home projects, making a job easier and much faster than using manual tools. Although hand tools should have a place in your tool box, power tools undoubtedly make life easier.Power Tools

Wood Flooring Posted By: Emma McCann

Wood flooring can make a huge difference to your home and there are many different styles and types of flooring to choose from. You might choose to purchase laminate flooring, or you could choose to go for the real wood flooring. Either look great, are easy to take care of and relatively easy to fit.

Laminate is a popular choice and this type of flooring may be fitted in just about any room from the kitchen, to the living room or bathroom. Of course you will have to choose a waterproof flooring for such as the kitchen or bathroom. When it comes to choices and styles there are many. Laminate is made of fibreboard plank that has been compressed and is then covered with a realistic image of the type of wood, stone or even tile that you have chosen. This type of wood flooring is one of the cheapest and there are many good points to purchasing it. It is generally hard wearing and has what is termed as a 'click lock' system, which means it is very easy to install without the need for glue. However, some types do require gluing so choose with care. What a difference real wood flooring can make

Are you fed up with your old fashioned looking bedroom? Or maybe your bedroom is a little on the small side and lacks the space you need. If this is true you may want to look at making a change and one of the best ideas may be to install a wardrobe with sliding doors. With there being so many different styles and options available there is sure to be something to match the décor of your bedroom. On the other hand you could completely change the décor to match your new doors.

By taking this option you will have an attractive bedroom that not only looks very stylish, but also opens up your room and makes it seem brighter and more spacious than it really is. If you are fed up of having to push by the bed when the wardrobe door is open, or you simply want to get rid of old tired looking wardrobes, then sliding doors may be the answer to your needs. In fact this type of system may be implemented into any scenario where you have cupboard space in the home, such as the living room or kitchen.Sliding Doors

How To Choose Lawn Mowers Posted By: Emma McCann

For anyone who has a garden with a grassy area, lawn mowers are an essential piece of equipment needed to keep your lawn looking neat and tidy. An overgrown lawn is not only an eyesore, but is not practical, especially if you have children who play in the garden. There are many types of lawn mower available, with a wide range of prices to choose from. There are many factors to be considered before you actually purchase your mower.

The type of lawn mower you select will depend largely upon the size of your garden, the type of grass, the shape and the amount of time you are happy to spend caring for the garden. There are three main types of lawn mowers available: hover, rotary and cylinder. For anyone who has a garden which is small to medium sized, with plenty of wear and tear such as children playing, a hover mower is a suitable tool to keep your grass trim. A hover mower literally hovers above the grass, which is why they are generally lightweight. As the handle folds on most models, you can hang them from the wall in a shed or storage space.Lawn Mowers

Considerations When Purchasing Kitchen Units Posted By: Emma McCann

If you would like a brand new kitchen but have put it off due to the high costs involved, you may want to consider installing kitchen units yourself. Having a kitchen planned, designed and installed for you often adds up to thousands of pounds, but you could have the kitchen of your dreams for just a fraction of that cost.

Rather than go along to the high street to look at the range of kitchens and styles you may wish to shop online instead. Purchasing kitchens has never been easier, as not only are you able to browse through the styles and types of units, you are also able to order online and have your flat packed kitchen delivered to your door.

One of the first choices you have to make is of course the style of kitchen you want. There are many possibilities, dark woods, light, white, maple effect or oak, the list goes on and on. When considering the style of kitchen you may wish to take into account the flooring too, so everything fits into the style. The size of your kitchen may also factor into your choice of style.Kitchen Units

The Benefits Of Using Power Tools Posted By: Emma McCann

Humans have used tools since the very early prehistoric days, when man would use flint to make himself a knife, hammer or even a basic drill. The crude implements used by cave dwellers soon became more sophisticated, which have slowly progressed to machine tools. Once considered a luxury, power tools are now essential for business and domestic use. Power tools are used widely across many industries, powered most commonly by electricity, although they can also be powered by compressed air, petrol or diesel for outdoor tools such as a chain saw.

The investment you make in the purchase of tools will be beneficial long term in the form of money saved, less time and effort when completing projects and ease of use. An electric tool will make a job much easier and therefore, faster. Some tasks are especially tedious, such as sanding, drilling or cutting, and require huge amounts of time and energy. Power tools make the job seem almost effortless, drastically cutting the time required to complete a project. With the advent of cordless power tools comes increased benefits, with no trailing cables to hinder you. As technology improves, the cordless power tools become increasingly efficient.power tools

Keep It Tidy With Storage Units Posted By: Emma McCann

Moving house is said to be one of the most stressful things you can ever do. It is usually considered that this relates to sorting out all the legal documentation which can take ages and rarely goes smoothly.

However, this is only the beginning of any trouble. There is a much bigger problem lurking underneath which can cause even more stress. This is the sorting and packing of your belongings. For those people who, for whatever reason, move frequently, this can be less of a problem as they will not have had time to accumulate 'stuff'. However those who have lived somewhere for a considerable time will, over the years, have accumulated a considerable amount. There is no doubt that you will have a collection of tools, ornaments, CDs and DVDs as well as other things such as clothes, crockery and pots and pans.
Some removal companies provide a selection of cardboard boxes into which this can be packed, but their quality is not guaranteed, and they may not be up to the job at hand. However this is usually only a few weeks prior to the move. It is much better if the packing starts long before this date.Storage Units

A Tiled Floor Adds A Touch Of Luxury Posted By: Emma McCann

There is no doubt there is something of an air of luxury about the use of tiling for walls and flooring. This probably comes from the history of their use. In ancient times the everyday house of working class people would have had dirt floors or at best wooden floorboards. It was originally only in palaces and places of worship that tiling was used,

The principle reason was originally to give a hard wearing surface but probably very quickly the realisation that pattern and colour could be introduced by using different stone types to give differing textures and patterns. The earliest known use of pattern tiles for decoration can be found in ancient Persia and with the development of Islamic art in the Middle East with its geometric patterns in coloured tiles that tile decoration reached new heights. It was through Islamic art that tile manufacturing developed in Spain which is now one of the things Spain is renowned for. In Europe mosaic tiling was developed with Roman mosaic floors being perhaps the best well know.

Tiling has therefore always had this sense of luxury and wealth.Tiles and Flooring

Why Use Wood? Posted By: Emma McCann

One of the key phrases that we hear repeated again and again is that we 'need to be green' and be aware of how we consume in our modern lifestyle. We are all aware of recycling and being careful in how we travel but the biggest impact we can have is reducing our energy consumption.

The energy we consume in our homes results in the emission of the greenhouse gas CO2 which is released when we burn fossil fuels. It does not matter whether this is burning the gas in your boiler or using electricity generated in a power station; all energy use results in CO2 emissions and these in turn contribute to global warming.

So what can we do to reduce our emissions and so help safeguard the future of the planet for our children and their children? The simple answer is to use less energy. In our homes we can do this by making our homes more energy efficient and this does not mean buying more energy efficient appliances although this helps.Timber Windows
