It is just one of the most ancient cities in India and the excavations at Rajghat show that it was populated in ninth century B.C.
Sai Baba Posted By: mukesh

SAI BABA
Sai Baba

Long time ago, at the beginning of eighteenth century a young bearded man ( Shirdi Sai baba) with sparkling eyes took shelter in a mosque, in Shirdi Village (of Maharshtra State, In India) . Nobody knew from where this stranger had come who hardly spoke a word and stayed there.

Gradually the curious villagers started offering food to the man, but he never asked anything from them. Sometimes he shared his food with the animals. Soon the young fakir, as he was started to be addressed, started expressing his view points with few elderly villagers. His simple language of expresssion and his special power of solving the problems of poor needy and destitutes soon made this less known fakir, known as Shri Sai Baba.

People also realised that this "Baba" was no ordinary person but a person with extraordinary godly powers. Such powers are not known or present in normal human beings. Baba preached his principle of love and faith in humanity to all his disciples.Hotels in shirdi shirdi hotels budget hotels in shordi

Vrindavan Is The Birth Palace Of Lord Krishna Posted By: mukesh

VRINDAVAN IS THE BIRTH PALACE OF LORD KRISHNA

Mathura is the birthplace of Lord Krishna at the centre of Braj or Brij-bhoomi, called Shri Krishna Janma-Bhoomi, literally: 'Lord Krishna's birth place'. The Keshav Dev temple was built in ancient times on the site of Krishna's legendary birthplace (an underground prison). According to the Mahabharata and Bhagavata Purana epics, Mathura was the capital of the Surasena Kingdom, ruled by Kansa the maternal uncle of Krishna.
Mathura has an ancient history. According to the Archeological Survey of India plaque at the Mathura Museum, the city is mentioned in the oldest Indian epic, the Ramayana. In the epic, the Ikshwaku prince Shatrughna slays a demon called Lavanasura and claims the land. Afterwards, the place came to be known as Madhuvan as it was thickly wooded, then Madhupura and later Mathura. The demon that Shatrughan killed in Ramayana, Lavanasura was the progeny of a devout king Madhu who gets Lord Shiva's Trident in a boon in the Puranas. The Puranas ascribe the founding of the city to Ayu, the son of Pururavas and the celestial nymph Urvashi.Budget hotels in Mathura Mathura hotels hotels in Mathura

The Historic Wat Phra Si Sanphet Posted By: Pushpitha Wijesinghe

Wat Phra Si Sanphet is a historic site in Ayutthaya, Thailand. It is believed to have been constructed in as in the year 1448 as the king's own private chapel. It is also said that the palace grounds were donated by King Borommatrailokanat as a setting to build a royal monastery and the royal palace has been believed to have been shifted further to the North. There have not been any monks in the Wat and it has been reserved only for Kings. The Wat has been used as a setting for regal festivities and to conduct royal rituals. It has also been used as a burial ground of the remains of the King and the members of the royal family and the three massive bell shaped structures at the site are still very much intact.
The main vihara at the setting is said to have housed The 55 feet tall bronze standing Buddha statue was originally covered in gold in 1500 during the reign of the 9th king known as Ramathipodi. It was referred to as Phra Si Sanphet. Even though the original Buddha statue is no longer there, the place is named after that image.Wat Phra Si Sanphet Bangkok Cruise Tour Bangkok Cruises

Wat Mongkhon Bophit ' Posted By: Pushpitha Wijesinghe

The Wat Mongkhon Bophit is a temple situated to the south of Wat Phra Si Sanphet and the Royal Palace ruins in Ayutthaya. It is famous for the Phra Mongkhon Bophit, which is a giant bronze statue of the Buddha, sitting in meditation. The metal sculpture has drawn comparisons to the Buddha statue in Wat Phanan Choeng. Measuring nearly seventeen metres in height, the statue was originally placed outside the Grand Palace, which is found to the east, but was relocated upon the orders of King Songthom. He also had a mondop (a pillared hall or pavilion) built to contain the statue.

However, during the reign of King Phra Chao Sua, the mondop was destroyed in a fire started by a lightning storm. The fire also damaged the spectacular statue. Another structure was built to house the statue, and the bronze statue itself underwent some reconstruction. The Fine Arts Department carried out extensive re-constructive work on the sculpture in 1957, closely following the original design, and the Buddha statue was entirely covered in gold in 1990, to celebrate the 60th birthday of the Queen.wat mongkhon bophit bangkok cruise tour bangkok cruises
