Panchakarma: The 5 Therapies Of Ayurveda Posted By: Alvin Tim

Ayurveda focuses on the preventative and healing therapies along with methods of purification and rejuvenation. Ayurveda is the science and art of appropriate living which helps to achive longevity. An important constituent of Ayurveda is the Panchakarma.

In Sanskrit, 'Pancha' stands for five and 'Karma' stands for therapeutic measures. Therefore, 'Panchakarma' stands for five therapeutic measures. These therapeutic measures are undertaken for the purification and wellness of the body. This therapy is comprised of five basic types of advanced treatment for the evacuation of vitiated Dosha. Our body constitutes of 3 doshas, namely, Vatta, Pitta and Kapha. People who suffer from an imbalance of any of the three doshas may suffer from physical and psychological problems. The Panchakarma therapy can therefore be considered as a de-tox program. The 5 main therapies involved in Panchakarma are Basti, Virechana, Vamana, Nasya and Raktamokshana. The 5th therapy is Raktmokshana however it is not generally recommended and practiced by Ayurvedic therapists.

Vamana is a medicated emesis therapy. Kaptha toxins collected in the body and respiratory tract causing repeated attacks of bronchitis, colds, cough or asthma. Vamana is the Ayurvedic treatment which involves therapeutic vomiting to eliminate the Kapha which causes the excess mucus.bangalore spa ayurvedic massage in bangalore

The Pain Of Exercise And Who Is The Weakest Posted By: Destry Masterson

Running activates more than 240 muscles throughout the body, which all need to burn ATP to create locomotion. Simply using your body is going to produce a certain amount of resistance, and any resistance is going to consequently result in a small amount of pain.

Small amount for some that is, as it turns out women are actually more sensitive to pain. For many years it has been evidently apparent that women suffer from migraines, fibromyalgia, and irritable bow syndrome more than men do.

The research methods used in this study consisted of women constantly complaining about pain. So people got to thinking perhaps it isn't that these women are more prone to migraines that they complain all the time, but perhaps it is because they are just more sensitive to pain.

Now the research actually took some real scientific methods, women and men who had the same disorder - whether it is back injury, arthritis, sinusitis-the results showed that women conclusively complained of more pain. The question is are women actually feeling more pain or are they just complaining more?

Neurological scans show that there is actually more pain being recognized in the brain.exercise pain fitness health exercise

Gear Up For A Sinusitis-free Winter! Posted By: Jillian Phillips

Get ready and protect your sinus health when the mercury drops this winter. One of the most common health conditions during the cold season is sinusitis, an inflammation and infection of the sinus cavities. Do you suffer from sinusitis? If you do, then you are one of 40 million Americans suffering from the illness every year. People tend to think that sinusitis is just a common thing during winter, but it could be very hard to beat if left untreated.

The Cold Factor
A sinus infection usually starts from a common cold. During a bout with colds, nasal and sinus openings can be blocked and invaded by harmful bacteria that can breed and cause a sinus infection. Aside from the cold virus, sinusitis can also be caused by the climate and environment, fungi and autoimmune issues of the body.

Acute or Chronic?
Acute sinusitis can be described as having symptoms like headache, postnasal drip, cough, congestion, facial pain and pressure, green nasapharyngeal discharge, fatigue and colds. An acute case lasts less than 3 weeks, while chronic sinusitis has the same symptoms. but can occur longer than 3 months.

Avoid Complications
Sinusitis should be properly addressed to prevent serious complications.sinusitis

Asthma is commonly known as the chronic disease of the airways and it happens when the airways get blocked due to inflammation or some other factors. Initially the symptoms are like the other symptoms of common cough and cold but the severity of asthma at times need hospitalization and can be life-threatening. The initial symptoms could be running nose, sneezing, tiredness, restless sleep etc. There are many researches conducted to find out the probable reasons of asthma but as such no particular cause could be identified but those people who have a family history of asthma have great risk for asthma.
Low Level Laser Technology Is Fast Changing Dental Practice Posted By: John Chambers

Interest in laser technology has substantially grown worldwide not only among dental practitioners and patients but also among members of the media. It is hoped that with the advent of laser dentistry, fear of the dentist will eventually be a thing of the past.

With virtually no pain, swelling or bleeding during treatment, laser dentistry is the preferred method for oral care among many patients, young and old. The specific type of dental laser to be used depends on the physical structure of the tissue to be treated with the Er:YAG laser for hard tissue and the Nd:YAG, carbon dioxide and argon lasers for soft tissue.

While the usefulness of dental lasers is unquestionable, high prices and constantly changing technology are hindering a wider acceptance by dental professionals. Many clinicians worry about the rate of return on the money they shell out as new products keep entering the market.

Clinicians who are skeptical to use the high level lasers resort to low level lasers to ease their dental functions and render better services to their patients.dentistry dentist doctors teeth tooth dental implants orthodontics braces teeth whitening

Management Of Nasal Polyps Posted By: Jillian Phillips

Of unknown etiology, nasal polyps are abnormal lesions that have developed in any of the four pairs of paranasal sinuses. These usually result from sinus and nasal mucous membranes that have undergone serious chronic inflammation. Polyps are also believed to be the by-products of any disease process occurring within the nasal passages and sinuses.

Possible Causes of Nasal Polyps
Respiratory diseases such as bacterial or fungal chronic sinusitis, allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, aspirin allergy, and asthma can trigger the formation of nasal polyps. In children, cystic fibrosis, CVID or Common Variable Immunodeficiency, Churg-Strauss Syndrome and primary ciliary dyskinesia can lead to inflammation of the mucosal lining of the sinuses, thereby producing polyps.

Small nasal polyps are often asymptomatic, meaning they manifest no symptom. These are typically accidentally identified during routine check-ups. Polyps that have developed in areas where they are expected to form, such as the middle meatus, on the other hand, may produce symptoms that often end up with recurrent or chronic sinusitis.nasal polyps

Side Effects Of Sinus Medication Posted By: Jillian Phillips

Symptoms of sinusitis typically include sinus congestion, sinus discharge, sinus pressure, and facial pain or headaches due to sinus pressure. The nasal and sinus membranes have similar responses to viruses, allergic rations and common bacterial infections. Membranes become swollen and congested. This congestion causes pain and pressure and mucus production increases during inflammation, resulting in a drippy, runny nose. Because many sufferers do not recognize that they are experiencing sinusitis and confuse their symptoms with cold symptoms, they do not seek proper diagnosis or treatment. For treatment of these symptoms, oftentimes, we turn to sinus symptom medications, which at times enhance the problem by means of side effects. Sinus medication does not completely cure the symptoms as the real causes go unnoticed.

Sinus medication, both prescribed and over-the-counter, has a wide range of benefits for treating sinusitis. These benefits sometimes come with unpleasant side effects. It is important to learn about the possible side effects of sinus medicines before taking them. Some common sinus medications are antibiotics, decongestants, mucolytics, nasal corticosteroids and antihistamines.

Antibiotics
Antibiotics help kill bacteria and stop sinus infection from progressing to a more serious complication. Overusing antibiotics can cause some types of bacteria to become resistant.sinus medication
