Shanzai- Louis Vuitton Branded Blackberry Posted By: vi

It was perhaps only a matter of time before another Blackberry clone cropped up on our radar, and as luck would have it today's is a bit special. It's a Luis Vuitton version designed to take the Blackberry concept to new heights and new audiences. I reckon the fashion designer himself would appreciate this one, especially at the sub 120USD price point.
This is not actually the first Blackberry clone to cross our path here at shanzhai.com. You will recall the Obama endorsed one we encountered a few months ago. Well, what disappointed me a little with that one was that it modeled itself on the Blackberry Storm, which is a great phone sure, but a real Blackberry? No. Not for me. A true Blackberry must have that famous hardware qwerty keyboard. Without the keyboard you've missed the point completely as far as I'm concerned.

I'm pleased to say that the the Baoxing V9 cell phone we're looking at today is designed more in the spirit of a Blackberry and sports a very nice silver-blue hardware keyboard below it's 2.2. inch screen. The screen is a 240 x 320 pixel supporting a gloriously colorful 260,000 colors.Shanzhai Phone Shanzhai Netbook Shanzai Shanzai Phone Shanzai Netbook Copy phone Clone phone Fake phone Nokia copy phone iPhone clone Shanzai che

Shanzai- Key Smartbook Silicon Players: Freescale Posted By: vi

Every time we publish info about key silicon players for smartbooks, I realize how each company differs just a little. Creative competition is a standout feature in this new breed of device and Freescale are focusing on prototype design.
This Texas based company is a leading manufacturer of embedded semiconductors for the consumer and industrial markets. Freescale, along with Qualcomm, is extensively promoting smartbooks as rivals to MIDs. Freescale has collaborated with top North American industrial design programs to develop a variety of smartbook prototypes. Freescale is working together with the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) to explore new technology related to user interfaces, ergonomic issues, and accessories for new generation smartbook devices. The company has already commissioned a number of smartbook prototypes which include touch screen-slate-with-QWERTY-ears, to leather clad clamshell designs.
Freescale is vigorously emphasizing that smartbooks are cheaper, lighter and more connected than notebooks. Smartbooks based on Freescale use the i.MX515 processor which operates at up to 800MHz. During the Computex 2009 trade show, original development manufacturers (ODMs), like Winstron and Pegatorn, showcased smartbooks based on Freescale ARM Cortex A8 silicon.

Freescale uses ARM based multimedia processors like the i.Shanzhai Phone Shanzhai Netbook Shanzai Shanzai Phone Shanzai Netbook Copy phone Clone phone Fake phone Nokia copy phone iPhone clone Shanzai che

Shanzai- Classic Shanzhai Netbook Hits New Lower $200 Price Point Posted By: vi

Here's what you might call the classic Shenzhai netbook. Apparently the S30, as it is known, has been around in various forms for quite a while now, and is largely regarded as the most sold Shanzhai netbook ever. As if this baby wasn't successful enough, it's now being made available to Mainland punters at even lower price points.
The S30 is a 10.1", 1024 x 576 resolution design that uses the netbook hardware specifications we've all come to know and love. So you have an Intel Atom N270, 1GB of DRR2, a 160GB hard drive, 3 in 1 card reader, a splattering of USB ports and an Ethernet port. Not thrilled yet? Well, never mind the quality, feel the width. This product is a bang for you buck explosion.

The word on the market streets of Shenzhen is that the S30 now has a new price point of only 1380RMB or just on $200 USD. The design principles involved on this device were staggeringly simple. Get the price down to its lowest possible level, and produce probably the worlds cheapest 10.1 inch mobile computer.

But let's not knock the S30, just because it's incredibly cheap.Shanzhai Phone Shanzhai Netbook Shanzai Shanzai Phone Shanzai Netbook Copy phone Clone phone Fake phone Nokia copy phone iPhone clone Shanzai che

Shanzai- Avia Netbook Joins Sony Clone Parade Posted By: vi

It's not as if we get a Sony netbook clone everyday, although it does occasionally feel that way with VAIO copies appearing left right and center. This time we've dug up a ten incher going by the ever so creative AVIA brand. Turns out that at first glance AVIA is about one stroke away from the word VIAO, which is probably more than you can say about the device itself, which smells distinctively netbook in nature. Let me introduce the AVIA N101.

Yep, make no bones about it. This guy is pure netbook. Think Atom 1.6GHz. Think 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive, and you're most of the way there. A 1.3 megapixel camera, a few USB ports and a card reader may also fail to raise your blood pressure. A weight of 1.3KG is decent for something with a ten inch screen and while the rest of the specs are very much standard issue, a fair bit of glam has been added to the chassis.

Looking reasonably thin the N101 has a more upmarket finish than your average shanzhai netbook.Shanzhai Phone Shanzhai Netbook Shanzai Shanzai Phone Shanzai Netbook Copy phone Clone phone Fake phone Nokia copy phone iPhone clone Shanzai che

Shanzai- Shanzhai Breed Diversity Through Customized Hp Mini Clones Posted By: vi

Here are a few more replicas of the popular HP Mini PC. The Vivian Tam version popped up on the radar a few days ago, but what really piqued my excitement with this one is the fact that the Shanzhai manufacturers are clearly attempting to mimic HPs unique front cover art concepts. My bet is that the Shanzhai gang will eventually have the means to out-customize the larger OEM products, being smaller and faster to react.

HP jumped into the netbook game with their mini-note 2133 device back in April last year. It drew plenty of attention due to its uniquely larger keyboard, excellent build quality and dangerous good looks. The 2133 Mini was also unique in that HP opted for a VIA C7-M processor platform and not the almost ubiquitous Intel Atom (although later revisions did indeed plum for Atom). Subsequent designs also saw differentiation in terms of colors and bonnet art, which kind of made perfect sense. After all, it's one way offer customers a unique product when just about every other part of the product has been commoditized to the point of near banality.Shanzhai Phone Shanzhai Netbook Shanzai Shanzai Phone Shanzai Netbook Copy phone Clone phone Fake phone Nokia copy phone iPhone clone Shanzai che

Shanzai- Chinese Office In The Clouds Posted By: vi

Evermore Software, a provider of low cost office productivity software has appeared on the radar, offering what appears to be a real alternative to mainstream office applications. Whereas their core business had been focused on users in China, it seems that Evermore, as with shanzhai manufacturers, are branching out to the mainstream.
Evermore claim to have provided over 24 million downloads of their 'Evermore Integrated Office' application client as of 2009, so although they may be an unknown quantity in the West, they're seasoned veterans in China. The software they provide is in the main, very similar to what you'd expect of Microsoft and they've been working hard to make sure that the English version is up to scratch too and have even introduced a recent update to their Chinese-English online toolbar.

Just as Microsoft is persuing its online debut of Office, Evermore are also making in-roads to succuring an online, cloud application presence. Speaking to IDG recently Wang Yuanbing, Vice President of Evermore said, "Everyone is searching for what form the online office should take, including Microsoft.Shanzhai Phone Shanzhai Netbook Shanzai Shanzai Phone Shanzai Netbook Copy phone Clone phone Fake phone Nokia copy phone iPhone clone Shanzai che

Shanzai- Iphome V10 Combines Slides And Wheels Posted By: vi

Here's a classic example of a cell phone mash-up; the convergence of a slider cell phone with iPod classic. Well, kind of. It might not be the perfect marriage of design concepts but when you're trying to differentiate in competitive market place, you'll give anything a go. Introducing the unfortunately named iPhome V10. And no. That's not a typo.
The iPhome V10 is clearly inspired by the globally adored iPod, now refered to as the iPod classic. A slider reveals a number pad below a 2.2 inch screen (240 x 320 res), all based on the MTK SoC platform from MediaTek, which includes a customized software stack. Other specs quickly fall in to place; bluetooth, dual SIM, audio and video support for the commonly formats, decent camera, expandable storage etc. It weighs 98 grams, comes in a choice of peach, white or black and costs 735RMB, or approx 108US bucks.

Western Opportunity Analysis:

The rotating wheel function is an interesting feature for a cell phone, and is clearly what separates this one from the substantial crowd. We have seen one used before on a twisty, but not a slider.Shanzhai Phone Shanzhai Netbook Shanzai Shanzai Phone Shanzai Netbook Copy phone Clone phone Fake phone Nokia copy phone iPhone clone Shanzai che

Shanzai- Ferrari Cell Phone Points To Shanzhai Progress Posted By: vi

So far we've covered a BMW netbook, a Bugatti look-a-like and a Ferrari cell phone with built-in ghetto-blaster speakers. Today we bring you another sports car-inspired Shanzhai cell phone, again using Ferrari as the would-be muse. This time around we're reasonably impressed.
Before I get to the crux of the issues involved here, let's take a look at the phone and its specs. A 1.8" screen featuring 176 x 220 pixels and delivering as many as 260,000 colors is housed in a case that uses both leather and Titanium (I'm thinking it cannot be the real stuff - faux Titanium is new one for me though) which has been hand polished. There's also a fake diamond mounted on the front as a navigation button. The rest of the specs are standard Shanzhai. We're talking dual SIM, FM receiver, T-flash storage, bluetooth etc. The real interest for me however is in the actual aesthetic design of the device and what it means in the wider scheme of things.
Retails for 1080RMB in China = Approx. 160 US.Shanzhai Phone Shanzhai Netbook Shanzai Shanzai Phone Shanzai Netbook Copy phone Clone phone Fake phone Nokia copy phone iPhone clone Shanzai che
