How The Family Reunion Can Be Hell On The Dutch Oven Posted By: Shane Busch

I just arrived home from the once-a-year family reunion. Being outdoor lovers, the reunion is usually put on at one of our favorite campgrounds not far from my home. Weather ended up being wonderful, the mosquitos were horrid, and the food ended up being to die for.

As tradition would have it, each and every family ended up being assigned part of the meals, and to make it exciting, the food were to be cooked in a dutch oven. Of course, we had family members in Motorhomes, camp trailers, and tents. But the law was established at the start of the first day whenever something was to be eaten, it had better have been cooked using hot coals from the fire and in a cast iron dutch oven.

Now for many, it was basically no problem. A few of my family members have already been making food in dutch ovens for many years. The truth is, I do believe most of them cook a much better meal by using a camp fire and cast iron cookware than they are able to do in their own individual kitchens at home.cast iron cookware dutch ovens cleaning cast iron cookware seasoning cast iron cookware

Scrubb: A Different Indie Approach Posted By: Karina Daniel

Thai power-pop and rock group Scrubb bring to spotlight their softer side in an exceptional 'Best of' album.

It is quite surprising to know that Thai indie band Scrubb in Thailand. 'Surprising' indeed since vocalist Muey Thawachpol Wongboonsiri and guitarist Ball Torpong Chantabuppha are grubby, sloppy musicians who flavor Beatlesque tunes with sympathetic lyrics. There are even no suggestions of rock star glamour to light them comparing to other, more vivid acts in the Thai music industry; although getting your way through their jam-packed venues during live performances might suggest otherwise. Scrubb's latest release, Chood Lek (Little Collection), contains an appealing indie and a deliberate environmental cover. The tracks gathered in this 'Best of' album are remarkably catchy.

Their album opener, 'Ter mhoon rorb chun chun mhoon rorb ter' (You Revolve Around Me, I Revolve Around You), which is also their first single off the album is a more meditative merry marching beat of 'Yellow Submarine'. The piano tinkles and cadence pa-pa-pas wrap up the gentle wonder evoked by the song. Muey's ode to songwriting, 'Pleng khong rao' (Our Song), pulls up the hooks although at this time around he renders it with a knee-buckling gentleness.Scrubb pop and rock group Thai indie band Thai music scene marching beat acoustic flavor folk rock
