The Singing Instrument Posted By: Rick Rakauskas

Singing is one form of music that all human beings can do, as we all come with the equipment needed (except in a few unfortunate circumstances). This is one of the beauties of singing as an art form - you don't need to buy any expensive equipment to do it. This contrasts with other musical instruments, such as the guitar, the saxophone and the piano, which all require you to own an instrument in order to practice. Singing is also a type of music that anyone can do anywhere - wherever you go, you've always got your voice.

All forms of producing music are about producing sound. Sound is created by making air vibrate. Changing the frequency of the sound (the number of waves or pulses produced per second, measured in Hertz or Hz) changes the pitch. Changing the amplitude of the sound (the "height" of the wave if the wave is measured on an oscilloscope) changes the volume. Changing the shape of the wave gives a sound its unique tone. When you use an oscilloscope to view the shape of a pure sound tone, it looks like a smooth sine curve, but a noisy, more distorted sound (e.g.singing speech vocal tract vocal cords lungs breathing sound voice lungs diaphragm

What Are The Types Of Saxophones One Can Get? Posted By: Sharen Turney

There are many different types of saxophones although people are not aware of this. This is a brass made conical instrument that is a part of the woodwind family. A reed mouthpiece is used when playing, just like with a clarinet. The saxophone patent was filed as fourteen instruments that were divided into 2 groups. There is a lot of variation present. A saxophone can vary from 15 centimeters to as much as 2 meters. In most cases the types of saxophones that are used are alto, soprano, baritone and tenor with alto as the most popular one.

An alto saxophone is perfect for the beginner and it is medium sized. It will include a small mouthpiece that will not allow sound personalization and is curbed. This is a saxophone that is really popular among composers of classical music and performers. Sometimes it will also come as a straight model that includes a tipped bell. Alto saxophones are made in the E flat key and there is also the possibility to find a true tone alto instrument.

The soprano saxophones will be offered in curved or straight models.saxophone saxophone players jazz piano

Top 10 Christmas Driving Tunes Posted By: Jerry ainsworth

The holidays are here, and there's no better time to listen to some rocking' tunes in the car. Here are the top 10 Christmas tunes to get you on down the highway.

1. The White Stripes, "Candy Cane Children"

The guitar solos themselves are enough to make this song worth the download. This is a raunchy, rocking song that twists the traditional sounds of Christmas around until they're something totally new and different. It's a great tune to get you through your commute and beyond.

2. Bruce Springsteen AND the E Street Band, "Santa Claus is Coming to Town"

It's The Boss, and it's classic. What would Christmas be without Springsteen's "Santa Clause is Coming to Town"? He's got the sound you need on Christmas, and this song is just a lot of fun. I just wonder if he's gotten that saxophone yet.

3. The Flaming Lips, "Christmas at the Zoo"

In this Velvet Underground-inspired song, The Flaming Lips bring Christmas music to a whole new level -- one where Christmas cheer meets hungover craziness. A great bleary-eyed song for some Christmas morning driving.

4.automotive music driving

Oboe Reeds ' Posted By: John val

Oboe reeds are the essential voice of this much vaunted and hugely popular woodwind instrument, and combined with the conical bore of the instrument as opposed to the cylindrical bore of instruments such as the flute or clarinet, it is this combination which makes an oboe more audible than any other instrument being played in a large ensemble, such as an orchestra or concert ensemble.
With the upsurge and evolution of fusion jazz in the late nineteen sixties and its subsequent continued popularity in the seventies and eighties, this versatile instrument became a foundation of the movement, and in many musical scores and compositions it has replaced the saxophone on many occasions as the focal instrument of choice. With the crossover of the oboe from classical and orchestra to more mainstream music genres, there has also been a crossover of talent too; some modern day jazz orchestras which have been heavily influenced by classical feature it as the instrument of choice.
The first decade of the twenty first century has seen this versatile instrument being featured in a death metal band and a heavy rock band;Oboe reeds

All About Santana ' Posted By: John Carlos

In San Francisco, the young guitarist got the chance to see his idols, most notably King, perform live. He was also introduced to a variety of new musical influences, including jazz and international folk music, and witnessed the growing hippie movement centered in San Francisco in the 1960s. After several years spent working as a dishwasher in a diner and playing for spare change on the streets, Santana decided to become a full-time musician; in 1966, he formed the Santana Blues Band, with fellow street musicians David Brown and Gregg Rolie (bassist and keyboard player, respectively).
Although the band had concentrated on trying to produce albums with commercial appeal during the 1980s, changing tastes in popular culture began to reflect in the band's sagging record sales of their latest effort Beyond Appearances. In 1985, Bill Graham had to once again pull strings for Santana to convince principal Live Aid concert organizer Bob Geld of to allow the band to appear at the festival. The group's high-energy performance proved they were still a top concert draw the world over despite their poor performance on the charts.Santana

Some Different Jazz Music Styles Exposed Posted By: BrianGarvin

Many of the dance elements of bebop eventually faded away and transformed into real music by musicians like Clifford Brown, Miles Davis, Bud Powell, Ray Brown, and Sonny Stitt who really didn't want anything to do with commercial type music. What these musicians were trying to accomplish was to use jazz musicians in the past; people like: Coleman Hawkins, Lester Young, Art Tatum and Earl Hines in an attempt to take their jazz music to a higher level than it was at the time.

Over time jazz music started evolving and started moving away from basic melodies to start producing more complex chordal sounds as well is dissonant tones and even chromatic patterns as well. Some of these dissonant tones that you hear all the time in Jazz music are usually heard when two or more tones are played at the same time in a clashing manner that can be referred to as sounding strange or even terrible. This of course depends on how the tones all fit together from a particular key. If you use lowered fifths and raised fourths a lot, there is also a good chance he could start hearing clashing sounds.Jazz Music Styles

Sterling Silver And Its Uses Posted By: John Foster

We all know fine silver is 99.9% Pure Silver but it is too soft for daily use. Hence, manufacturers use Sterling silver in making instruments such as flute and saxophone, surgical and medical instruments, jewelry making, utensils etc. A sterling silver is 92.5% silver alloyed with other metals usually copper to make it strong to be used as functional objects, durable jewelry. The purpose of mixing other metals is to increase resistance to tarnish/Corrosion as a fine silver always get tarnish easily by being in contact with the air, to eliminate firescale AND to reduce casting porosity [it is the property of cast metal that causes the metal to appear sponge-like under high magnification]. The other metals used mostly are germanium, zinc, platinum, silicon AND boron.

Sterling silver is most often used for making household accessories because of the combination of beauty AND durability. It includes utensils such as knives, forks AND spoons, coffee and tea service sets AND silver trays.

Sterling silver is naturally aseptic AND due to its resistant to antiseptics, heat sterilization AND body fluids it is used in making surgical AND medical instruments.Fashion Jewelry Sterling Silver 14k Gold

Bon Iver Tickets : The Second Album Is Described As An 'ambitious Musical Departure' From The First Posted By: Amanda Harrison

Bon Iver is a band founded in 2007 by American indie folk singer-songwriter Justin Vernon. It includes Michael Noyce, Sean Carey, and Matthew McCaughan. Vernon released Bon Iver's debut album, For Emma, Forever Ago independently in July 2007. The majority of that album was recorded while Vernon spent three months in a remote cabin in Northwestern Wisconsin. The name Bon Iver is derived from the French phrase bon hiver , meaning "good winter" or "have a good winter".

Justin Vernon is joined live by Sean Carey (drums, vocals, piano), Michael Noyce (vocals, baritone guitar, guitar) and Matthew McCaughan (bass, drums, vocals). Noyce was Vernon's guitar student during high school.Carey approached Vernon during one of the first Bon Iver shows, telling him he could play and sing all the songs. Thereafter, the two played a number of them together.McCaughan and Vernon met while on tour with indie-rock band The Rosebuds in May 2007.

Because of the extensive use of vocal harmony on the songs of For Emma, Forever Ago, Vernon was concerned that there would not be enough voices to duplicate the sound of the songs on the album in a live setting.Denver Broncos NFL Tickets
