Drum Set Components And Analysis Posted By: gwynnsh

A standard drum set usually includes a kick drum, snare drum, floor tom, tom-toms, throne, cymbal stands and an assortment of cymbals, including a ride cymbal, hi-hats and one or more crash cymbals. The correct set up is usually determined by the style of music played and the drummer's own personal choice. For instance, in most types of rock music, the bass drum, hi-hat and snare drum are the core instruments used to create a drum beat as opposed to jazz, where ride and snare patterns are usually more common and the hi-hat is played with the foot.

The fundamentals of percussion playing are actually quite easy. Percussion is all about striking various drums and cymbals in order to make some type of structured noise. The type of sound that's generated depends on a number of things, such as what you hit, how it's hit, where you hit it and what it's hit with. All four of these factors are essential in getting the proper sound that you want when playing percussion instruments.

The bass drum is the large round drum that rests on the floor with two adjustable legs.best drum kits best drum sets drum kit reviews how to drum drum and percussion best bass drum drum kits drum lessons best snare drum

How To Properly Set Up Your Drum Kit Posted By: gwynnsh

Everyone has difficulty finding the best way to set up their first drum kit. The first thing done wrong in setting up a drum set is having the drum kit in front of you as opposed to positioning yourself in front of the drum kit in a comfortable fashion. Make sure that your throne is correctly positioned, along with all of your drums and cymbals.

You also need to consider what type of music you are going to play. If you are playing rock music, you should keep your hi-hat in the best natural position. If you are going to play blues or jazz, you should keep the ride cymbal in the best natural position.

Whenever you feel like you've set up your drums to the best of your abilities, try this: put down the sticks and you should be able to touch every single piece on the kit with your hand.

There isn't necessarily a perfect way to set up your drum kit but in order to reach your full playing potential you should follow the simple steps outlined below.

1.the drum set the snare drum how play drums how to drum percussion tuning a drum best drum set

Having A Rebellious And Spunky Child Like Bart Simpson Posted By: Mark Bennett

What would happen if you had a son like Bart, a kid who has a don't-care kind of attitude and sticks to his ideologies? If your son becomes like Bart, there is no chance that you are going to be like Homer Simpson. You won't literally choke him or at least provoke him to do some mischievous things. Seriously, your life is going to be like hell. You can have your neighbors constantly at your doorsteps erupting in anger like molten lava because of the hooliganism done by your son. Sometimes you can have the cops and Department of Children Service criticizing you and fining you for allowing a dangerous person on the street. This may sound awkward and funny, but it is true.Bart Simpson, the fictional character of the animated cartoon The Simpsons has always been on the receiving end of our opinion. If you have watched or are an ardent fan of this sitcom that is shown on the Fox Network channel of your TV channel package like Dish TV Packages, you would know. Many of us are finding Bart's opinions contradictory and behavior undesirable.dish tv packages dish tv tv packages

How To Play Drums - Getting Started Posted By: Joe Maldonado

The most common problem with many amateur drummers is that they do not know where and how to get started. Their approach towards learning how to play the drums is wrong in many ways and they don't even know about it. Some of them are so ambitious that they end up trying to play the most advanced patterns before learning the basics of drumming.

You can learn to play drums in two ways. You can hire a drum instructor to teach you or you can learn yourself. Of course, hiring a drum instructor would cost you about 2000 dollars per year. Learning to play drums yourself is not impossible but it is difficult. It needs self-discipline and some time daily for your drumming. There is a popular saying that "Practice makes Perfect". Thus, the only way to get perfect is by practice. Only practice won't suffice, the practice has to be perfect as well.

In order to learn how to play the drums, you have to set mini goals which are realistic to achieve within a drumming session. You should make a schedule before sitting on the drums of what you want to learn.how to play drums

Roger Waters Tickets : Waters Endorses Rotosound Jazz Bass 77 Flat-wound Strings Posted By: Amanda Harrison

George Roger Waters is an English musician, singer-songwriter and composer. He was a founding member of the progressive rock band Pink Floyd, serving as bassist and co-lead vocalist. Following the departure of bandmate Syd Barrett in 1968, Waters became the band's lyricist, principal songwriter and conceptual leader. The band subsequently achieved worldwide success in the 1970s with the concept albums The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall.

Although Waters' primary instrument in Pink Floyd was the bass guitar, he also experimented with synthesisers and tape loops and played rhythm guitars in recordings and in concerts. Amid creative differences within the group, Waters left Pink Floyd in 1985 and began a legal battle with the remaining members over their future use of the group's name and material.

The dispute was settled out of court in 1987, and nearly eighteen years passed before he performed with Pink Floyd again. It is estimated that as of 2010, the group have sold over 200 million albums worldwide, including 74.5 million units sold in the United States.Roger Waters Concert Tickets

How To Play Jazz Drums Posted By: Joe Maldonado

Jazz is a very popular and artistic style of music, especially for drummers who want to learn how to play the drums. The true skills of a drummer are reflected through Jazz drumming. Jazz is a bit different than 4/4 rock drumming. This fact frightens the drummers and they do not strive to learn it. It is also played with a different pattern known as triplets. It includes faster drumming but like other drumming it needs perfect timing too.

The basic swing jazz groove is the first thing to learn for a jazz drummer. You have to give time to rest of the group in jazz music. You have to keep yourself from overpowering your band. To do this, you will have to make use of ride cymbal and hi-hat. Step on the 2nd and 4th count for hi-hat. This groove should be at the top of anything that you play in jazz. A triplet feel will be used to play ride cymbal, which will be added to the hi-hat groove.

As said earlier, jazz drums need not to be too dominant. In order to do that, you have to control the volume of the bass drum.how to play drums

How To Play Double Bass Drums And Paradiddle Posted By: Joe Maldonado

An advanced concept like the double bass drumming can add a lot of spice and variety to any beat in the world. The concept is very simple as compared to the other concepts to learn to play the drums. It is used in hard rock music, jazz, latin, country and other styles. It also requires development of muscles, timing and independence like other drumming concepts. The muscle development includes muscles of legs and independence on both the feet.

Warm up with a few basic stretches and taps if one is not used to double bass. If you are playing on double bass drum pedals, set them up in a way that they are most comfortable for you. The tension on its springs should also be even. Once you set these things up you are ready to start developing your double bass.

Double bass can be played in two ways, heel up and heel down. Both of these techniques are useful and should be practiced for the same amount of time. Heel up drumming is mostly used for fast and loud drumming beats since it provides you with more power and force on each and every stroke.learning to play drums

How To Grip Drumstick And Increase Posted By: Joe Maldonado

Stick Speed Drummers all around the world wish that they could know how to play the drums faster. This is inevitably achieved through the best possible grip and some practice techniques. These practice techniques include playing rudiments, moeller method, setting up drums and practicing with weights. It can be very boring for a drummer to practice on these techniques but the end results are worth it.

The essential pattern that every drummer learns is known as rudiments. Practice these rudiments with a metronome and a practice pad. You need to play these rudiments as fast as possible. Try to increase your beats per minutes speed each time. You need to practice paradiddle for control and also single and double stroke roll for power and speed.

Moeller method is another very popular way of drumming that is used by all the top professional drummers. This technique is named after its inventor. In this technique, a multi stroke hit is carried out by utilizing the bounce of stick. This allows you to get double the bounces by playing half of the strokes. This method is used in jazz, rock, latin and more.how to play drums

Introducing Tabla: A Popular Musical Instrument Of Indian Classical Music Posted By: Rakib Raihan

The Tabla is a wonderful musical instrument which is mainly used in Indian Classical music. It is also an indispensable part of all major classical dances of India. But now-a-days it is being used in other forms of music as well since the use of the Tabla is becoming popular with many creative modern young musicians day by day. As for example the use of the Tabla in jazz music has certainly added some extra charm to the beauty and flavor of jazz.

The tabla is a percussion instrument. No clear evidence has been found about the origin of the Tabla. It is generally believed that the present form of the instrument is about a century old. It has two drums namely the bayan and the dayan. The bayan is played with the left hand while the dayan is played with the right hand. A tabla player plays the Tabla by tapping on the surface of the drums. The left-hand drum (Bayan) is larger in size and generally its body is made of metal like brass, nickel, aluminum. Sometimes the bayan is also made of reddish brown clay or ceramic. The top layer of the bayan is made of leather.musical instruments

How To Read Drum Notations Posted By: Joe Maldonado

Amateur drummers fail to understand the importance of reading drum notation and counting time signatures while learning how to play the drums. The ability to read drum notations is a plus point for any drummer. This helps the drummer to learn quickly and efficiently. The drummer with that ability can get more concerts and gigs to showcase his or her talent.

Sheet music carries all the drum notations in it. The drum notations represent beats and patterns. A different drum voice is represented by each space and line. This different space and lines represent different drum voices. However, they differ depending on the writer of that music sheet. Usually the bottom line represents bass drum but some people use the middle line to represent the bass drum. It is easier to figure out which line represents which drum voice. If you are still unable to figure it out look for a legend somewhere. A bar or a measure is any single section in the sheet.

Time signature is stated in the beginning of music piece. It is a fraction that, in a measure, determines the amount and type of notes.how to play drums

As said earlier, jazz drums need not to be too dominant. In order to do that, you have to control the volume of the bass drum.how to play drums
