Macclesfield: Welcome To Sk10 Posted By: Jack D Richardson

The SK10 postcode includes many areas in and around Macclesfield including Adlington, Bollington, Bollington Central, Bollington East, Bollington West, Broken Cross, Chelford, Cheshire, Disley AND Lyme Handley, Henbury, Hurdsfield, Kerridge, Macclesfield, Macclesfield Bollinbrook, Macclesfield Broken Cross, Macclesfield Central, Macclesfield East, Macclesfield Hurdsfield, Macclesfield Tytherington, Macclesfield West, Mottram St Andrew, Nether Alderley, Newton, Over Alderley, Pott Shrigley, Prestbury, Rainow, Tytherington, Tytherington Business Park and Whiteley Green.

Macclesfield has a long history, starting with a mention in the Domesday Book from 1183. The Canal was constructed between 1826 and 1831, linking Macclesfield to Marple and Kidsgrove. In 1873 the railway station opened, linking the city to the rest of the country. Macclesfield railway station has services to Manchester, Piccadilly, Stoke and Euston, and can be found on Silk Road.

It is a market town in the county of Cheshire, and the average age is 41, slightly higher than the national average. Its residents are generally educated to high level, and this might be why it is one of the wealthiest parts of the UK. The local economy is mainly based on agriculture and dairy farming, although major companies also have offices there, such as Barclays.sk10 sk10 houses sk10 properties sk10 flats macclesfield

Start Collecting Books Posted By: bmorse7

Have you ever considered collecting books? But you're not sure how to start. And you're not sure why you should start?

I have to admit that I was somewhat intimidated many years ago when I first saw my brother-in-law's large book collection.

He had first editions of well-known books such as Stephen King's Carrie. Several Ian Fleming books from the fifties and sixties. And a few Faulkners, Hemingways and Steinbecks. And many other authors I'd never heard of.

He also had many recently published books ... hypermodern books ... that he said he picked up for a few dollars in both new and used book stores. And these books were appreciating in price. That really caught my attention.

And so with Jim giving me helpful hints and showing me how to make sure a book was a first edition ... I started collecting 12 years ago. Mainly hypermodern books (published in the last 10-20 years) but also a few older books.

Here are some of the benefits of book collecting:

Books can be collected on any budget.

Collect what you like - there are no rules.

Certain selected first editions may appreciate over time.book collecting first editions

Headache Relief - What Kind Of Headache Do You Have? Posted By: Ian Newton

A headache is a complete waste of a good day. The usual response is to reach for the painkillers. If you are happy to do that then fine, the problem is that for a large number of people, when the pain killers wear off then the headache returns.

The trick to treating headaches is to know what kind of headache you have. There are many kinds of headache such as from sun exposure, stress, poor posture, neck strain et etc.

For simplicity we can reduce the headache categories to three kinds. Hot headaches, cold headaches and hot/cold headaches.

A hot headache is one that responds to heat. If your neck muscles are strained and in spasm then we know that heat is the solution. A hot pack applied to your neck will reduce the spasm and therefore remove the trigger of your headache.

Another hot headache example: You fall asleep on the couch and wake with a jinked neck which becomes a headache. Again apply the heat pack, but first you will want to do some gentle stretching and perhaps lie down for a while with your neck in a comfortable position.headaches headache relief Ian Newton living well publications heat headaches

Headache Prevention - Sports And Energy Drinks And Proper Hydration In Sports Posted By: Ian Newton

Proper hydration is critical to avoid sports headaches. Drinking energy drinks is almost universal now, but they all contain caffeine or caffeine containing compound such as Guarana. The problem is that caffeine is a diuretic; diuretics make you urinate more frequently and cause you to become de-hydrated.

Many of these energy drinks are promoted as having extra energy ingredients such as Gingko Biloba, Siberian Ginseng or Taurine. These can help but the dose is usually not enough. In short these energy drinks are expensive and a dumb idea for sports.

Most sports drinks contain lots of sugar and artificial colourings. Of course everyone knows that a blue drink will make you run faster! But the sugar can increase your thirst. Remember the days when oranges were given to children at half time during a game. This provided natural energy and some liquid without causing bloating.

The best drink to avoid headaches is water plus a good multi vitamin which contains a good dose of all the B vitamins. Have your vitamin in the morning and again before you play.headaches hydration headache prevention Ian Newton living well publications

Self Defense For Women - 9 Effective Hand Defenses Posted By: Ian Newton

Not a pretty subject.

I must warn you that some of these moves will appear barbaric...Sometimes you do what you have to do to survive. Ask yourself how hard would you fight to save your life or that of a child! I put it to you that if you are going to defend yourself you should do it effectively.

You must act quickly, strongly and decisively, as most attacks are fast and violent.

Let your hands do the talking.

1. Do not punch with your fists. You could break bones in your hand or wrist, even worse you may hit your attackers teeth and end up with a nasty infection in the joints.

Women tend to have longer nails which prevent you forming a proper fist. You would hurt your hand or break nails. The palm of your hand is very strong. The best target is the nose.

A fast straight thrust to the nose is very painful and will cause your attackers eyes to water. Thus giving you a chance to run of or strike again if you are trapped.

If you hit your attacker with a palm strike quickly follow with another two strikes.

2.womans self defense womens self defence defenf yourself Ian Newton living well publications

Are Your Vegetables Safe - Home Vegetable Gardening Posted By: Ian Newton

A recent radio programme had the interviewers visiting a farm which grew commercial vegetables. As they were leaving they asked if they could pick some broccoli, to take home to feed their chickens.

The farmer replied that they shouldn't feed his broccoli to their chickens as it would kill them. Shocked the interviewers asked why? He said the commercial broccoli was sprayed four or five times and weren't safe to eat. When asked what vegetables they ate they said they have their own vegetable patch behind the house well away from the fields.

Soil Health.

There are even wider concerns regarding commercially grow vegetables. It's the condition of the soil that concerns many health researchers. Soil health and community health are being closely monitored in many western countries. We know the soils become depleted. The practice of leaving a field fallow, i.e. , allow the field to recover for a season, is not economically viable on many large struggling farms.

The effects of drought, flood, fire, hail, tornados and insect invasion allow farmers little opportunity to care for their farms in the traditional manner.grow your own vegetables vegetable growing Ian Newton living well publications

Sleep Problems - Routines That Beat Insomnia Posted By: Ian Newton

Loss Of Routine can be one of the biggest causes of Insomnia is having your routines change and then not bringing that routine back into line. Returning from a long international flight, passing through customs, finding a taxi to get home, you finally arrive exhausted. But the chances are it's only morning or early afternoon. So you fall asleep only to wake at 2am, wide awake. It can take days to re-correct this pattern, or it can be the beginning of a chronic sleep disorder.

For reasons unknown you have a few restless nights, you are awake at midnight, and don't fall asleep until 2am. You have to be up early and you now find yourself needing a sleep mid afternoon. You sleep for a couple of hours, but now you are not sleepy at your regular bedtime, and so the cycle repeats.

This second scenario is common with health problems such as depression and chronic pain. You wait until your pain meds kick in then go to bed. But all too often when the meds start to wear off, not only does the pain return, but a more disturbed sleep returns. This is a common experience with codeine medications.Insomnia sleep problems Ian Newton Living well publications

Women's Self Defense - Easy Weapons With Which To Defend Yourself Posted By: Ian Newton

Are you prepared to defend yourself? Firstly you must be fully prepared to defend yourself. Not half hearted you must be prepared to commit. As a woman you have a right to self defense. Yes of course there are times when it is best to just hand over your purse or even your car and walk away.

But...there are times when you either fight back or risk serious injury or death. What if I fight back and the attack is worse? Yes this is possible, but that kind of person was only interested in exerting power over and violence anyway.

Where self defense starts.

1.The first moment you feel threatened, you use your first two weapons.1.Your voice. Yell, scream, shout at your attacker, warn them to start away. Shout FIRE, not help. In this day and age many people are afraid to respond to a call of help. But, FIRE gets everyone's attention.

2.Your distance. Create mental boundaries, perhaps 5 yards/metres, become aware, 3 yards/metres face the person, if they are coming at you, shout, yell scream.Womans self defense womens self defence defend yourself Ian Newton Living well publications

Web Video - Why You Must Do It For Your Business Posted By: Ian Newton

Video is great for business and fun If you are working on the internet you need to be able to present your product and your ideas as efficiently as possible and in a cost effect manner. Web video allows you to demonstrate products in a way a static page could never do.

When customers come to your site they won't to see the real live person behind the product. Using video you get a great chance to promote yourself with passion. Heh if you are camera shy find someone else to do it for you.

If you don't have the budget to extend to a personality there are plenty of people in your local theatre groups with golden voices, people who love to be in front of a camera and have their five minutes of fame.

It doesn't matter whether your business sells online or if you are promoting an offline business, video is a must.

You Can Shoot A Video Anywhere

You can wander around your showroom , or practice, or worksite and film all the benefits and quickly display them on your site or blog.web video internet business Ian Newton living well publications

Affiliate Marketing - Your Solution In Tough Times Posted By: Ian Newton

A home business can be quite a daunting proposition for some. Part of the problem is that we are often told that it will be easy, just buy this course sign up as a distributor and then it will all fall into place.

Nothing could be further from the truth. The reality is that most people who join network businesses, or buy online courses will do nothing or start with a bang and quickly fizzle out. It's a bit like gym memberships; they seem like such a great idea when you are fired up.

Many distance learning universities rely on this aspect of human nature, because they will enroll far more people than they can manage, collect some up front fees, and know that many will either fail to start or quit within a short.

So why would your online affiliate business be any different? I don't know, but what I have come to realize for myself is that timing and necessity tend to drive action.

My wife is a medical doctor and when she became ill our successful practice was dealt a serious blow.affiiving well publicationsliate marketing affiliates internet business Ian Newton L

Improve Weight Loss With A Good Detox Posted By: Ian Newton

What is the connection between weight loss and detoxification? When your body is in a toxic state, it is not functioning at its best. Your digestion, liver, kidneys and cells are all under active.

In this state which is obviously not a healthy state, you now impose a diet on this poor suffering body. Your body does not react well, it sees the diet as just another threat to its well being and your body goes into slow down, protective starvation mode.

It is certainly not going to give up any of those important fat reserves. It will however all too easily give up fluids, leading to dehydration and also muscle mass.

Loss of muscle mass is a disaster, it may seem you are losing weight according to the scales, but it really is just delusion.

You need muscle mass to drive metabolic processes such as glucose regulation and fat burning. Typically if you lose muscle it is quickly replaced with fat. You may only bounce back to your pre-diet weight, but now you have less muscle and more fat, you are in fact fatter and less healthy than before the diet.

That's the bad news.weightloss detox lose weight Ian Newton living well publications

Arthritis Remedies...your Tips For Pain Reduction Posted By: Ian Newton

You know you have a problem because of increased pain from old injuries, or you feel you are just plain wearing out, it may be joint pain that is constant or it comes and goes. It is always best to be correctly diagnosed, in order to differentiate Osteoarthritis from Rheumatoid Arthritis, or bursitis, or perhaps a ligament or tendon injury.

How you elect to be treated is up to you. There are several options. In this article we will discuss the most common form which is Osteoarthritis. This is basically a wear and tear form of degeneration with an inflammation component. We have discussed some dietary considerations in previous articles, now its time to look at which medications you will choose.

You can go down the medical pharmaceutical pathway, with a variety of non steroidal anti-inflammatory. Some of these have been known to cause digestive problems. some have been withdrawn from sale. But the trade off is they do help. In the natural world there are a number of options. Glucosamine is important at a dose of 1500mg per day. There is good evidence to show it helps arthritis. It is claimed to regrow cartilage.arthritis arthritis relief relieve arthritis Ian Newton Living well publications

Awareness - The Key To Women's Self Defense Posted By: Ian Newton

Women call it their intuition; men are a little less elegant and have a "gut feeling". The reality is that we get these signals all the time; it's just a question of listening and trusting this feeling.

Does this place feel safe? Do I feel OK with these people? Should I drive or walk this way home?
If you listen, you will feel an answer. It may be subtle, such as a feeling of slight discomfort, or as obvious as a chill, or the hairs standing up on your arm.

Have you ever looked at someone, and feel they that give you the creeps? Have you ever walked into as room and felt the energy was just a bit off.

Do you know why you would buy something, or are attracted to one person and not another?

We are constantly picking up on signals, but we can be fooled. We are also more likely to trust an attractive person, than someone we consider to be unattractive. This is a big trap. There have been several interesting psychological studies, which show how we can be manipulated by certain people.

So where does this leave your intuition?womans self defense womans self defence defend yourself Ian newton living well publications

Home Vegetable Gardening - Tips For Getting Started Posted By: Ian Newton

Giving advice on home vegetable gardening is fraught with difficulty as I don't know where in the world you live. I live in the subtropics on the eastern coast of Australia. In summer it's quite hot which is good for salad greens and tomatoes and in winter the climate is mild which allows us to grow a large cross section of vegetables.

But there are some universal tips.

1. Grow with the Season

In this day and age we can walk into any supermarket and buy produce from anywhere in the world. When I was a child we could buy watermelon and Mangos, peaches and cherries only around Christmas. These fruits still hold Christmas memories for me. Now I can buy them anytime I like because of importing. In Chinese traditional health it is advised that in order to enjoy good health you should eat with the seasons. It means you are best to eat those fruits and vegetables which are grown in your region.

2. Cheat.

Wander around your neighbourhood; peer into backyards and onto balconies, not in a weird way of course! Take to neighbours who are gardeners'.grow your own vegetables vegetable growing Ian Newton living well publications
