Sikh Matrimony In Canada Posted By: Ankush Singhal

The Sikh Community hails from the state of Punjab in India. The community members are spread to all parts of India. The Sikh community members reside in large number in Canada. They are commonly known as Canadian Sikhs.

The Sikhs in Canada have immigrated as early as 1887. The first Sikhs in Canada came as soldiers during the British rule in India. The early Sikh members in the country were employed in Canadian Pacific Railway. Jobs like lying of railway tracks and working in lumber were done by the Sikhs then. The earning was less as compared to the local workers; the community saved enough money and got relatives and friends to Canada. Slowly and gradually, many Sikh members arrived in Canada and joined jobs in lumber mills, mines and in the army.

There were some rough periods for the Sikh community in Canada. Racism issues cropped up and the government policies were against the immigration of this community.

With the changing times, educated Sikh community members arrived in Canada. During the 1960s and 1970s, many Sikhs came and settled in the urban belt of Toronto to Windsor. The number of Sikh community grew by tens of thousands.Jeevansathi sikh matrimony sikh matrimonial sikh online matrimonials sikh matrimonial profiles sikh bride sikh groom Indian marriage Indian we

Trip To Jogulamba Temple, pushpagiri, Vontimitta Posted By: hoparoundindia

Day 1

We visited some of the ancient temples in Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh long time back.I just want to share some of my experiences here. We started our journey early in the morning i.e at 6:30 a.m( it s early for me :-) ) in the car from Hyderabad.Alampur is 230 kms from Hyderabad. It is on the left side of the road, road is a bit confusing we asked some guys about the route. We traveled for 15 to 20 mins on a small road. We found many auto rickshaws and bullock carts in this way.We passed through a small railway station on our left side.Name of that station is Jogulamba halt. Then we confirmed that we were in a correct route. We reached Alampur in 2 hours. There are 3 temples to see in Alampur.

Navabrahma temple
Sangameshwara temple
Jogulamba temple

First we went to Navabrahma temple. There are nine small temples with Siva shrine in different colours

Nava Brahma Temple

Taraka Brahma.
Swarga Brahma.
Padma Brahma
Garuda Brahma
Bala Brahma
Kumara Brahma
Arka Brahma,
Vira Brahma

New Year 2012 At Waynad Posted By: hoparoundindia

I study Law at Christ University in Bangalore and my sister is studying Engineering at Kanchi in Tamil Nadu. It is such a clash of concepts that she gets vacation for all the Hindu festivals and I get a single day off and we never get to see each other. Most of the times, my sister leaves for her college the day I get home at Hyderabad. So, I decided that this New Year we have to celebrate together come what may. Incidentally as it is her final year of degree even her group of friends had plans to welcome the New Year 2012 together at a nice destination. I pushed my way through the group and all her friends very sweetly agreed to squeeze me in their plans.
So there we were on our way to Waynad in Kerala to welcome the New Year a wild way. As I was already located at Bangalore the group of Engineers joined me on 30th evening at my college on Hosur Road, Bangalore. I already knew most of them on fb and had met few of them personally as well, so I took charge as I am the localite in Karnataka.Christ University Kerala Meenmutty waterfalls Muthanga New Year 2012 Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve Project Elephant site Waynad adventure celebrati

Magh Mela' Posted By: hoparoundindia

In India, most of the festivals and holy fairs (melas) are celebrated in accordance with the traditional Hindu calendar. One such religious affair, organized at the time of Makar Sankranti in January, is Magh Mela, also known as Mini Kumbh Mela. This year, as per the traditional Hindu calendar, the Magh Mela 2012 starts from January 9 and ends on February 20, 2012.

Magh Mela, one of the greatest annual religious fairs for Hindus, is organized every year during the month of Magh; hence the name. The Magh month as per the Georgian Calendar, corresponds to the duration of around one month, which is from mid January to mid February. The Hindu Mythology considers the origin of Magh Mela as the beginning of the Universe.

Every year, this Mela is held on the banks of Triveni Sangam (divine confluence of three holy rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati), in Prayag near Allahabad in North India state of Uttar Pradesh. During the Magh Mela, Devotees throng this holy place to perform religious activities as well as to take holy dip in Sangam on auspicious dates.Kalpvas Magh Mela Maha Kumbh Makar Sankranti Sangam rivers holy bath pushkar

A Pleasant Break In A Long Walk.... Posted By: hoparoundindia

We were on our way to do the Circumambulation of Tiruvannamalai and visiting the Lord Arunachaleshwara in Tamil Nadu. Six of us started off by mid day of 6 Jan 2012, on this 17km walk; it was a hot and sunny day. We kept crossing many foreigners on our way and one of them a school teacher named Voila from Canada was also walking along with us. She told us that after reading the teachings of Bhagwan Ramana Maharshi which impressed her deeply, she came down to India to spend a couple of months here. We were pleasantly surprised to note that she is checked into a small home stay at Tiruvannamalai and does walk up and down to the Ramanasramam daily. After walking for 3 hrs we reached Ramanasramam and walked in with lot of expectations.
First we stopped by the big hoarding detailing the Asram site map. After checking out all the places to visit we went on to Bhagavan Samadhi Shrine. It is a huge and peaceful hall where a Shiva Linga is placed on the Samadhi of Bhagavan and a close to real life idol is also there.travel pilgrim Arunachalam Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi Gosalas Ramanasramama Ved Pathasala temple religious

The Various Rakhi Gifting Ideas In India For Siblings In 2012 Posted By: vouchers

Rakhshabandhan is one of the most celebrated festivals of the country of India. It is an occasion where Rakhi gifts to India are sent and the sisters tie their brothers a band called the Rakhi whereas the brothers vow to protect their sisters from all kinds of troubles. Exchange of gifts between the brothers and the sisters is a custom of this occasion. This is often regarded as a festival to inspire relationships and friendships between different cultural groups of the nation. Siblings enjoy this festival greatly and make it a point to surprise their brothers or sisters with brilliant gifting ideas.
It was an effort started out by Noble Laureate Rabindranath Tagore who aimed to unite the Muslims and Hindus of the nation during the first divide of Bengal into respective territories depending on the religious majorities in particular regions. This worked greatly as Hindu girls tied their Muslim brothers Rakhis and vice versa and it evoked a strong sense of passion among the citizens of the country at that time. Rakhi gifts can be greeting cards based on the theme or the favorite chocolates of the sister.Rakhi gifts to India Raksha Bandhan gifting Ideas

Advantages And Disadvantages While Practicing Different Asana In Yoga Posted By: StuartOwen

Yoga is a different kind of exercise that has been practiced for more than five thousand years now. People who practice yoga were able to keep themselves hale and healthy. Yoga not only helps in keeping our body fit, but keeps a balance of mental status as well. Practicing yoga helps us to concentrate well in our work and brings success in most of the activities we undertake. Yoga was original practiced in India and originally belonged to the Hindu religion. However the word Yoga is associated with meditative practice in Hindu, Jain and Buddhist Religions. Today, yoga has spread to different parts of the globe and many Americans follow yoga practices regularly. Most western countries provide yoga classes at a large scale and focus mainly on the Physical poses. These physical poses are often called Asana. There are different kinds of asana. While some of the asana is easy and can be learned and performed by any one, some of them are extremely difficult. The main concept behind doing these asana is breathing. It is extremely important to breathe in and out in a systematic manner while performing these asana.Fast Internet Internet Yoga
