Inspection Checklist For Buying Used Cars Posted By: carrydemaggio

Most people today prefer used cars over new models because of the rough economic climate. While pre-owned vehicles are more affordable than their brand new counterparts, buyers should still be aware of various concerns involved in purchasing used cars. To get a quality and fully-functioning vehicle, take note of these important considerations when checking out a used car in your local dealership.

Exterior

A good used car should have no dents, scratches, or windhshield cracks. The body panel colors should match, and a magnet should adhere to all steel body panels. Seams where the trunk and hood close and where doors and fenders meet should be properly aligned as well. The windshield blades and widers and the headlights and directional lights should also be intact and fully-functional. Beware of a fresh paint job as this could be applied to conceal rust.

Interior

Seats should be unstained and free of cracks in a quality used car. The seat belts should be functional and the seats should adjust properly. The trunk and all doors should open and close freely, and the stereo, heater, and air conditioner should all work.used cars in indianapolis used cars indianapolis used cars indianapolis indiana

Cold Air Intake - Helps The Heart Of The Engine Posted By: Louie Liu

There are many components that make up your car's engine. Just looking at it bristling with moving parts, belts, tubing, pistons and fan gives us a sense of a highly complex piece of machinery that only those who specialize in it can understand. And yet many of us know of the hard work a car's engine puts in and want to find out how we can make life easier for it. And there are several such products available from the car aftermarket products industry. These products are not very expensive and do give an improvement in the engine and the car's performance. This is why they are very popular amongst car enthusiasts.

One such product is a cold air intake. And as the title says it makes a difference at the very heart of the car's engine. Now you may wonder what I mean by the heart of car's engine. By that I mean the place where the big event happens. And that is combustion of fuel which converts chemical energy into mechanical energy. As you can imagine there is great violence happening here. Inflammable fuel is being burnt which produces a small explosion.Cold Air Intakes Cold Air Intake Air Intakes Air Intake

Common Car Parts That Need Replacement Regularly Posted By: Johnathon F Black

Buying a car does not stop there. You should also know how to maintain it. It is very important to check your car regularly. This is to avoid any accidents from occurring. A regular maintenance would also allow you to save more money. If you only fix or check your car whenever it doesn't work smoothly, then you may end up paying for more since you may have allowed more damage on your car before actually fixing it.

The car parts that needs to be replaced every once in a while would depend on many aspects. These includes how fast do you drive, where do you drive and what kind of climate do you have there, how often do you drive and what car model you drive.

These are all important in determining the car parts that needs regular maintenance. All parts of a car are inseparable. Say you are an aggressive driver; you may have a problem with the brakes in the long run. Here's an idea on the most common car parts that needs regular replacements.

1. The most visible, the Windshield Wiper blades. You may have to replace them for at least a year or two.Clear tail lights Car parts

Car Spoiler - Let The Force Be With You Posted By: Louie Liu

When we talk about a boat or a ship we will know it needs to be streamlined because it needs to cut through water. And water is quite heavy, so if the flow past the boat is not managed efficiently the boat will find it very difficult to cut through water. We also talk of a car's need to be streamlined but do not think air is all that heavy and a little favorable profile we feel is sufficient to cut quickly through air.

But air is not as light as one thinks. And it can produce very large forces just as we know water can. And that is not just when it is blowing at hurricane speeds. If you are sitting in a room of five meter by five meter square and four meters in height there is more than hundred kilogram of air in the room at normal temperature. That is the weight of a small motorcycle. And you can imagine the huge forces that air can generate as your car moves through it at a high speed. And once you have done that you will want to be able to take advantage of such forces.Car Spoilers Car Spoiler Body Kits Body Kit Lowering Kit

Hid Headlights-what Are They? What Are Their Advantages? Posted By: Jason john

HID head lights or High Intensity Display Headlights are getting popular day by day. They are manufactured by a technology in which the electrical charge is used to ignite xenon gas inside a steeled tube. In HID displays, light is produced by electrical discharge between two electrodes not by using a filament. Here in this technology the xenon gas is filled inside a quartz capsule and the electrodes are placed inside them that are the reason this technology is also called xenon lighting. Here between the two electrodes, an arc of light is created according to gas discharge principle. HID headlights produce more light than the ordinary lights and consume less energy. The lights generated by HID headlights are similar to daylight and hence they find great use in automotive applications.

HID lamps are more efficient than the incandescent lamps as they do not use a filament to produce light. In the case of filament heat is generated and there will be loss of energy. In case of HID lights the only catalyst used is current so overall efficiency will be tremendously increased. HID lights could produce more light at cooler temperature.led headlights advantages led bmw headlights led replacement headlights

The Diligent Inspector: Tips When Inspecting A Used Car Posted By: Carry Bacot

One of the important things you need to do when buying a used car is to inspect it. This will help you determine the overall condition and safety of the car. The inspection should be done diligently; otherwise, you might end up with the car of your nightmare. Hence, here are some reminders when doing a car inspection.

Body

The exterior of the car can partly speak of its condition. Keep an eye out for rusts, scratches, and dents. The bodywork must have consistent and even paint finishes; otherwise, the car must have been repainted to cover damage. Walk around the car and look at it from different angles: Are the panels aligned properly? Do the front and rear of the car match? Inconsistencies with the car's exterior may be an indicator of substandard repairs or factory assembly.

Tires

The tires are important parts of the car. Without them, the car wouldn't be able to run properly even with a good engine. As such, you should be cautious of the condition of the tires. These should have enough tread depth to ensure they are in proper condition.used cars for sale in indianapolis used cars in indianapolis used cars indianapolis Indiana

Ilovebodykits.com - Know Your Car Better Posted By: Louie Liu

For most of us our car is a safe, fast and comfortable way to get from one place to another. Even when we are buying it we do check out some facts about it which we feel are key and also take it for a trial but we do not really get to know it. Which is fine, because if we are satisfied with a product we do not really need to know how it is made and why it works.

But even after we are quite satisfied with our car many of us want to spend some more money on it. This can be to improve the looks or its performance or just to customize it in some way. And for this we need to know our car a little better than we cared to know when we bought it. The reason is that there is a wide range of products out there and unless we make an informed choice we may not be getting the best value for our money as perceived buy ourselves.

So how do you go about informing yourself better about your car. You can hardly joining a university course in automobile engineering.Body Kits Body Kit Exhaust Header Exhaust Headers Performance Exhaust Cold Air Intakes Cold Air Intake

Cold Air Intake - Brings In Cool Air And Saves Fuel Posted By: Louie Liu

The first internal combustion engine was made in 1806; and the first liquid fuelled gasoline automobile was made in 1870. But that automobile was more for demonstration and not suitable for practical use. Practical automobiles were made by Karl Benz in 1885 and Daimler in 1889. Later on Ford and others took up their commercial production with great success. Since then there have been many upgrades and modifications in the automobiles, but one element in its functioning has remained the same. As it was in the earlier years; even now power is generated when the mix of fuel and air is ignited in the engine. Fuel and air are both necessary for combustion. If there is inadequate supply of air the fuel would not be fully utilized and the output of power will be less than what the engine is supposed to generate. The cold air intake brings in the cool atmospheric air into the engine. The cool air is advantageous because it is denser than the hot air. The air in the engine becomes hot and lighter. Dense air means there is more of air in the engine.Cold Air Intakes Cold Air Intake Air Intakes Air Intake

Strut Bar - Manage Extremes Better Posted By: Louie Liu

There are some products that we need only when things are at an extreme. But at that time then we do need them a lot. An extreme example of an extreme need is a fire extinguisher. For years it would lie around doing nothing, but the one time it is needed you are very grateful it was lying handy. There are other products that you do not need so often but when you do you are very glad you have them. And though you do not need them all the while you certainly do need them more often than you would a fire extinguisher.

Take for example driving on a road in the mountains that twists its away up and down in the hills and valleys. This is very different from cruising along in a straight line on a highway. And though most good cars will be quite fine cruising along in a straight line on the highway many of these will not be quite as much fun to drive on twisting and turning roads in the mountains.

The reason is that the road in the mountains requires you to turn the car often with pretty good accuracy.Strut Bars Strut Bar Lowering Springs Lowering Spring Bo

Brake Rotors - Cannot Work Without Friction Posted By: Louie Liu

If a vehicle does not immediately stop when you want it to stop, it may sometimes cause a mishap. To avoid such a possibility you have to check your brakes from time to time to ascertain that they are functioning properly. Braking system has a few components and all of them have to be in a perfect condition for the system to function efficiently. Brake rotors are an important part of the braking system. When the driver presses the brake pedals his command is carried by the braking system causing the brake pads to press upon the brake rotors. The friction between the brake pads and the brake rotors stops the vehicle. Day to day use reduces the friction between the two which will adversely affect the performance of the brakes. Sometimes they may also get damaged, in either case you have to replace the brake rotors. Different types of brake rotors are available in the market. There are drilled brake rotors or slotted brake rotors. Friction between the brake pads and brake rotors also generates heat which reduces the stopping action of the brakes. In the drilled brake rotors and slotted brake rotors the heat is dispersed.Brake Rotors Brake Rotor Racing Seats Racing Seat Slotte

Short Shifter - For A Sporty Look And Performance Posted By: Louie Liu

A sportsperson does not have to look like a Hollywood star to look great. Usually their athletic bodies have excellent proportions suited to their sport and over and above that the way a quality sportsperson can perform, the performance is so breath taking that the looks themselves look awe inspiring as well. I do not know how successful Federer would have been had he been just a movie star, but the greatest of movie stars will find it tough to rival his looks when he is playing dream class tennis on the court.

So when a product gives a sporty look to your car it helps a lot if the looks have depth and the product also helps makes the car's performance more sporty. And this is true for a short shifter. A short shifter does not have a huge impact on the looks of the interiors of your car. But for the informed eye of a genuine car enthusiast its quiet presence is enough. The person will immediately know that your car means business as it goes up and down through the gears.

Short shifters make driving less stressful by reducing the time it takes to change gears.Short Shifters Short Shifter Steering Wheel

Headlights - Have Benefited By Adopting New Innovations Posted By: Louie Liu

The cars have come a long way since they were first introduced. Many technological innovations and development of new materials have contributed to the appearance of high performance and better looking cars in the market. All the parts of a car have received the attention of their designers and makers. Even a simple part like headlights has benefited from these developments. Cars now move much faster than they did earlier, so they need brighter headlights. Brighter sources of light like halogen lights, or LED lights, or HID (High Intensity Discharge) lights are therefore now used in headlights. They illuminate a longer stretch of road which allows the driver more time to make necessary adjustments. It is not enough that the light is bright; its beam should be cast in the right direction. There are reflectors and lenses in the headlights assembly which can be manipulated by the driver to cast the beam of light in the right areas. The headlights are so located that they do not blind the drivers of the oncoming vehicle and dimmers are also used for the same purpose.Headlights Headlight Coilover Coilovers Tail Lights Tai

Importance Of Car Insurance Posted By: Hans Munnis

Car insurance, also known to others as auto insurance is a very important thing. I have personally had a couple of experiences where car insurance or auto insurance came in and and helped me. The insurance company really did save me a lot of money in the long run. Sure, no one likes to be in a car accident and most people don't wreck their car on purpose. That is why it is called a car accident, because that is what it is. And car insurance is what comes in and saves you from these car accidents, and let's be honest with ourselves. Car accidents happen, no matter how good we are at driving a car, we can still have an accident.

I have had a couple of instances where car insurance became more real and important to me. Auto insurance wasn't just some lousy payment I had to pay each month. After being in a car accident I saw the importance of car insurance. I was driving an Audi A4 for my work one day. For those who don't really know one car from another an Audi A4 is an expensive car.quote online allstate cheap

Body Kits - Where To Find A Better Car Posted By: Louie Liu

It is not that we are not satisfied with what we have. It is just that if things can be better we would like to have it that way. And that is the reason why we spend a lot of money each year to improve the quality of our life, even though we still reminisce about how wonderful life was years ago. That is not to say we are stupid about wanting things to be better, it is rather to say that we are smart enough to know that though this is good, but it can be better.

And so also it is with our automobile. We love our car and it takes around the city and beyond each day and yet even as we drive it we look at other cars and in our mind start to plan about having a better car. So where does this better car lie? Is in our imagination alone, awaiting the time when we will describe it to a manufacturer who would then hopefully get convinced it really is a great car and go ahead and manufacture it?Body Kits Body Kit Car Spoilers Car Spoiler
