How To Avoid An Irs Audit Of Your Business Posted By: Sandra Simmons

How To Avoid An IRS Audit Of Your Business

The IRS audits only a small percentage of business and personal tax returns annually, because they lack the manpower to do extensive audits. However, there are AND ldquo;Red Flags AND rdquo; the tax return scanning system picks up that could target your corporate or personal return.

If your return is selected for review, you have nothing to worry about if you haven AND rsquo;t mis-stated the numbers on your return, and you have receipts to back you up.

Even though the odds of you getting audited may seem low, those odds increase dramatically based on your income and the types and amounts of deductions you claim. The higher your income the more likely your return will be selected, math errors make you more suspect, and taking larger than normal amounts of deductions in certain categories can trigger an audit.
Common IRS Audit Triggers

Not Reporting All Taxable Income

It is dangerous in the extreme to not report all of your income. Because the IRS gets copies of all 1099s and W-2s you receive, they will be looking closely at whether you reported all of your income.income tax deduction tax deductions federal income tax IRA tax forms file taxes

Understanding Alternative Investment Options Posted By: Steven Corbett

Investors who could not afford to risk investing in the volatile stock and bonds market often took recourse to alternative investment. An investment that is not done in one of the three conventional types of stocks, bonds and cash is called alternative investment. Unlike conventional sources, this is mainly done by institutionalized investors and companies. This is mainly because they were considered to be risky and complex. Liquidity too was considered to be a problem. Even today, small investors are kept out of the purview of some alternative investment options like hedge funds. Here are a few options that are commonly available for all types of investors:

Real estate investments: This market caused a major economic recession. But even in the worst periods of the housing slump, real estate was a good option for those who were ready to play it safe. The shortsighted investors who blindly followed the trend lost heavily. The best thing about investing in real estate is that the benefit is twofold. Besides capital growth, there is also a continuous source of income through rents. Even in 2012, there are positive reports to indicate that the housing market is sure to see an upward trend.Alternative investments real estate investment broker

An Informative Look Behind The Scenes Of Self Directed Iras Posted By: Micheal Smith

A variety of causes have triggered prevalent concern pertaining to retirement security among present-day employees. High-profile stories about failures of Social Security's imminent bankruptcy and high-level corporate embezzlement have spawned high levels of public alarm. Recent decades have seen numerous laudable attempts by Uncle Sam to take care of this valid public concern. Inception of the Individual Retirement Account ("IRA") is one of the most popular retirement savings innovations.A Story of Two Financial ModelsThose who own both traditional and self directed IRAs make pretax deposits into specialized funds reserved for retirement. An agent known as the "custodian" has full obligation for the disbursement of all deposited monies. Such proxies may not give direct investment advice to account owners, though they may function as escrow agents to keep and manage IRA assets.Conventional IRA custodians are generally banking institutions, credit unions, investment brokerages, and other institutional or commercial organizations. Self directed IRA custodians may include private parties or a Limited Liability Corporation ("LLC") founded solely for the purpose of self directed IRA management.Contrasting Self Directed vs. Conventional IRAs- TaxesConventional IRAs allow contributions up to the maximum allowable annual amount from pretax income.self directed IRA rules self directed IRA real estate

Gold - Inside Of Your Retirement Account Posted By: Doug West

When the US dollar weakens, many investors flock toward gold. The gold merchants always stress gloom and doom no matter how good the economy or world looks.

The possible end of the world makes people feel safer with gold. Perhaps they think they can trade it for food in a crisis. If hyper inflation comes, it would be good to have some of your retirement funds in gold. In this article I'd like to give you some of my favorite gold plays. Before we do that, I'd like to give you my gold warning.

In my opinion, the biggest signal to stay away from gold is when everyone is buying it! So, if the crowd is flocking toward gold, stand back and put your gold plan into action after the gold price plummets (unless you are wanting to cash in on the dropping price of the commodity - more on that in a minute). You don't want to get caught with the herd when the bubble burst. Over the years, that has always been the pattern with gold. It runs up in price, just before the blow up.retirement what-are-binary-options binary-investing binary-options-course ETF ETF's income-investing retirement-income retirement-investing income

Choosing Between Gold Coins And A Gold Ira Posted By: Vikram Kumar

When you are considering investing in gold, you have a choice to make between gold coins, which are physical and must be stored in a safe place or a gold IRA or other investment vehicle in which you only have shares in gold. Some people prefer to have one over the other and some prefer to have both. Many people will put some of their savings into gold which is a smart move to make especially in a down economy such as what is what we have right now. Many will like the idea of having physical possession of the coins while others will prefer to have a certificate to state how much they own. Both are a good way to invest in a bear market, which is when the stock market is not doing so good.

The stock market is very volatile and is something that can make or break someone. A person who has everything invested in an IRA that is heavily invested in the stocks can lose just about everything that they have if the market crashes. The market has crashed many, many times over the past and will most likely do so again.gold IRA gold coins

How To Buy Gold The Right Way Posted By: Vikram Kumar

There are two ways that you can basically buy gold. You can get physical gold, which is also called gold bullion or you can invest in the price of gold. Both of them make excellent choices when it comes to investing for the future as gold will always hold its value. Even in the most dire times, gold is worth something. In fact, when the chips are down and everything is in the tanker, then the gold is the only thing that is worth anything. And silver as well as other precious metals. When the economy of Thailand went bankrupt, gold was the only thing that the people had to trade. This can happen anywhere which is why there is such an interest in investing in gold today.

So how do you buy gold? One way is to get gold coins. These will hold their value and should be made from pure gold. You need to be sure that you are paying market price for the gold and that the place from where you purchase the gold bullion is reliable. Other ways is to invest in a quantity of gold that you will get on paper.buy gold gold bullion

Can You Have A Gold 401k Posted By: Vikram Kumar

If you open up a 401K then you can usually direct the type of investment that you want. A 401K is usually sponsored by the company for which you work although individuals can open up a gold 401K that is backed by gold. In a case where someone opens up their own 401K retirement account, the money that they put into the account comes out pre-taxes and is not taxed. This money is supposed to be saved for retirement. A gold IRA works pretty much the same way. The IRA is an individual retirement account and is made as an investment vehicle for those who want to be sure that they have plenty put away for retirement.

It is smart to put money away as soon as possible for retirement. People think that this is something that is long off, but it comes around before a person realizes it. This is why they need to start investing as soon as possible. It is never too late to look towards investing and a gold 401K is one of those choices. Instead of being invested in the stock market or commodities, as retirement plans usually are, it is invested in gold.gold IRA gold 401k

How To Have A Real Gold Retirement Posted By: Vikram Kumar

Do you think that you can just retire on what you get from social security? Think again, there are problems with the current system and by the time a person retires, this option may not even be open to them. They can take a gold retirement, however, when they have invested in a gold IRA. This is an IRA that is backed up by the cost of gold instead of invested in the stock market. There are many options when it comes to investing. Some like to invest in stocks and bonds, these are the traditional sources of IRA investments. However, in an economy that is not so hot, it pays to make sure that some of the money if not all of it is invested in precious metals such as gold and silver.

People work hard so that they can retire when they get older and not have to work at all. To prepare for retirement, they tend to invest in an IRA or 401K which are retirement accounts. Those who work for companies where these type of investments are offered will generally go along with the investment choices offered by the company.gold retirement gold IRA

What Is An Ira Investment? Posted By: Marcus

Most people are curious to know about the different IRA investment options. They want to know how to invest money in the best way so that they are secure in their retirement. No matter how young you are, it is best to start putting aside a part of your earning for your retirement even though that might seem far away. Most organizations no longer keep on paying their employees after retirement. So, you should make provisions for your own living and medical expenses as early as possible.

The Advantages and Disadvantages of IRA Investments

IRA refers to individual retirement account. You can set up this account as soon as you begin earning. In fact, the sooner the better, if you save enough money you can actually retire early. You put aside a percentage of your pay check which is paid into the IRA each month. The advantage of this scheme is that you will be forced to save a certain amount and, if invested wisely, your portfolio will grow. Another great advantage is that an IRA enjoys several tax exemptions. In addition, the deposit you make into IRA is tax-deductible.Retirement IRA Investing

Stretch Ira Which Custodian Posted By: stone12

Are there only a few allowed custodians for the stretch IRA?

Some advisors are telling their clients that they must use one of a select few custodians to administer a stretch IRA. This is not true. Most of the these advisors are salespeople who are trying to get their clients to buy an annuity. You want to make sure that your custodian will correctly administer the stretch IRA, but you do not have to buy a particular product in order for this to happen.

Can I do something that will force my heirs, children or grandchildren to implement the Stretch IRA?

Now, this question is very unique. And the reason why is because of what most people don AND rsquo;t realize is that the children or heirs do not have to implement the Stretch. This means you can set it up and they can simply ignore or not know about it. There are a couple of ways to force the Stretch IRA. In some case you would consider this if you have a child and you AND rsquo;re thinking, AND ldquo;I don AND rsquo;t want them to spend all the money lump sum.
How To Accomplish Complete Diversification With Mutual Funds Posted By: Shane Flait

Diversifying your portfolio reduces the risk that the demise of any one company, investment area or market will rob much of your portfolio's value. But how do you approach diversification especially if you have a limited amount of money. Here's an approach using mutual funds.

Classically, your portfolio should be divided principally between equity, income and cash investments. Those are the big three investment areas. They tend to behave differently. So you should spread your money between these areas.

But diversification within each investment area is still essential to minimize unnecessary risk to failing companies or market sectors. Purchasing a sufficient number of stocks for your equities and bonds for your income not only requires a lot of money but a lot of time to choose and manage them well. That's the problem.

Using mutual funds you can achieve that diversification without an inordinate amount of money and yet save yourself a lot of management time too. That's because each share represents hundreds of actual companies and the fund has a manager who works to grow and preserve the fund's portfolio.diversification investment mutual funds equity income cash equivalents

Stretch Ira Beneficiary Rules Posted By: stone12

How do I utilize multiple beneficiaries for a stretch IRA?

The good news is that a stretch IRA does not restrict the number of beneficiaries you can have. You can have as many beneficiaries as you would like. You can assign any percentage you want to each beneficiary. For example, you could leave 10% to your grandchildren and 90% to your children. You should name primary, contingent, and even second contingent beneficiaries. This will allow for disclaiming, which could be great for tax planning. Consider all possible beneficiaries and utilize them all.

I don AND rsquo;stretch IRA multi generational IRA inheritied IRA beneficiary IRA ira rules

Invest In The Future With American Silver Eagle Silver Coins Posted By: Max Nolan

One excellent way to fund your retirement is with American Silver Eagle coins.

Planning for Your Future

For individuals in their late teens and early twenties, planning for retirement seems a bit absurd. After all, there's still another 40 or so years before they'll retire so there seems to be plenty of time. The earlier an individual begins their retirement account with silver coins, however, the greater the dividends will be upon retirement and the more that individual will be able to do with that money.

Even if you didn't establish some type of retirement plan early in your working career, there is still time for you to invest in American Silver Eagle coins for a healthy retirement account. Silver coins are the most liquid investment medium on the market and they bring greater returns than even gold. This "poor man's gold" is easily traded as the precious metal of choice for the masses and its value is strong and reliable.

Pure Silver Dollars and IRA Accounts

Prior to 1997, American Silver Eagle coins were the only silver medium allowed for funding IRA accounts by the IRS.silver bullion silver eagles american silver eagles silver coins

Stretch Ira Does It Retrict Me? Posted By: stone12

If I set my IRA up as a Stretch IRA, does it restrict me at all?

No. The Stretch IRA is not a product. It AND rsquo;s not something that you can buy. The Stretch IRA is really a process. So you have to do everything right as the original owner. But in addition, the beneficiaries have to do everything right as well. So it AND rsquo;s really not something that you are creating that AND rsquo;s going to restrict you or the beneficiaries. All you AND rsquo;re going to do is set it up so that the beneficiaries have the ability to stretch if they know how and wish to do so. It does not mean that you AND rsquo;re restricted in any way. You can still take distributions from your IRA. You can still change investments. There are no rules that are going to restrict you under the provision of setting the IRA up so that it can be a Stretch.

Can I do something that will force my heirs, children or grandchildren to implement the Stretch IRA?

Now, this question is very unique.
