Inuit Art Vs Classical Paintings For Decorating Your Home Posted By: NataliaH

When decorating your home, people are often good at picking out the large items, like the furniture and appliances. However, it is the accents to the room that get put on the back burner and go forgotten. What people do not realise is, it is the accents that bring the room to life.

One of the most important accents for a room is art. Beautiful paintings hanging on your walls can really make the difference in having your room stand out. However, while the use of paintings may tie-in the room all together, very often unfortunately, they go unnoticed by the audience. That is because many paintings today look somewhat generic. The nature scenes, or the modernistic minimalist style are somewhat repetitive and leave little to no imagination to the naked eye. The regularities of a painting lack that oomph factor that can generate a certain shock value you may be looking for. It does of course do wonders for accenting your furniture, but for most, this is where it ends.inuit art eskimo art inuit carving eskimo sculpture

Adopting The Right Dog For You Posted By: Art Gib

So you're thinking about getting a dog? Adopting a dog means you are adding a new member to your family for life, so the type of breed you choose is extremely important. What kind of dog might be right for you?

Do you live in an apartment or condo?

Although you may have always wanted to have a Golden Retriever or Great Dane, large breeds may not be the right choice for you if you live in a confined area. Large dogs need room to romp during the day: unless you are committed to being home or hiring a dog walker, these kinds of dogs are happier when they have access to a yard. Besides, it's unrealistic to ask a large dog to "hold it" all day till you get home. Many condominium complexes have weight restriction covenants on the kinds of dogs that may live there, and nearly all apartments require a pet deposit for any kind of furry friend.pet lovers

Eskimos Are All Around Us Posted By: Gloria Arenson

I once heard a teaching story about 2 grizzled hunters who met in a bar in the Yukon. After a few drinks, they started to argue about the existence of God. One man insisted that there was a God while his opponent was just as sure there was no God. "Yes there is!" "No there isn't!" "God exists!" "No He doesn't, and I can prove it."

The non-believer said, "I was out hunting when a snow storm caught me. The snow came down hard and obliterated the trail. I was lost. I didn't know what to do, so I got down on my knees and prayed, God, if there is a God, please help me now." "You are here. That proves that God exists," said the believer. "No it doesn't," said his opponent. "Some darn Eskimo came along and showed me the way back to town!"

We all have Eskimos who come into our lives and show us the way. My definition of Eskimos is that they are strangers who come into our life and give us information or opportunities that lead us forward toward a positive experience or goal.Eskimo TFT spirituality belief Gloria-Arenson God change opportunities

Invaluable Gift Information For The Dog Lover You Know! Posted By: Matthew Mulchi

Dogs are great companions. Most dogs are affectionate and respond to our emotions. They cheer us up when we are feeling sad, make us laugh, and take a place in our hearts. To say that some dog owners get very attached to their pets would be an understatement. Dogs are often thought of as children, and we create a secure place in the family for them. They have a soft, comfortable dog bed (or sleep with their owner) and eat like kings.

Not only do we form strong bonds with our dogs, but we also make a connection with the particular dog breed that our dog is from. Dog owners get to know the typical traits and behaviors of the particular dog breed. We understand their need for affection, their desire for a sense of belonging, their need to have a den to retreat to, their protective nature, why they tuck their tail between their legs, why they circle around before lying down, and more.

It is not unusual to find dog-inspired art in our homes since we love our dogs and often become passionate about our dogs breed.Dogs Art Carvings Pets Gifts Sculptures Wood Dog Breed

Buying Art - What To Look For Posted By: Wendy Hermann

If you don't love art, and are simply considering buying art as an investment, the best advice is to find something else to invest in. Collecting and buying art should be a labor of love, not a cold-hearted financial calculation.

There are many factors that a serious art collector should take into account when buying art. Here are some of the main ones:

1. Know Your Own Tastes

Never buy something just because an "art expert" tells you that it is a beautiful, classic piece of art. If the art piece means nothing to you, it's not worth you buying it. Unless you're a professional trader, the art piece you buy is going to be something that you own and look at for years. So choose art that speaks to you. And to do that, you need to know what you like and what you don't like.

An important secondary benefit of knowing your taste is it gives you the ability to clearly state your desires to art dealers that you work with to help build your collection.

2. Know Your budget

No matter how much you like an art piece, don't put yourself in enormous debt to acquire it.Inuit art Inuit sculpture Eskimo art Eskimo sculpture Native American Art

Where To Buy Art For The Home Posted By: Wendy Hermann

Art for the home can be found absolutely anywhere, from local markets to one of the many cafes in tourist locations that often act as a gallery for a local artist. Some amazing pieces of local art are often found in souvenir shops along your journey. But the two places I mostly like to buy art from are eBay and private collectors.

Buying Art From Ebay

The best thing about buying art on eBay is that you can usually buy for reasonable prices. This is good for the art investor, because he knows that if he makes a mistake, at least he hasn't risked a huge sum of money. Ebay has become the place to go for good deals so except in rare cases, you get a good deal for you money.

In addition, many artists like to sell on eBay - mostly because it's one of the rare places where they can have their work seen by potentially hundreds of people. Artists are mostly desperate to have their work seen and because of this, art collectors can often "steal" works or art from unknown artists before they are discovered.eskimo sculpture buying art art sale art deals selling art ebay art

The Many Reasons People Buy Art Posted By: Wendy Hermann

Buying art has always been popular and as far back as humanity has kept records, artists of all types have been celebrated. But why do people buy art? What does it do for us?

After all, unlike food, gas, clothes, and water - art is not something that we need. For most of us, art is something that we buy with our dwindling disposable income. But why? Well there are many reasons:

One of the most common reasons people buy art is to enhance their home decorating. A beautiful painting can make a world of difference to a stark, empty, white wall. A unique piece of sculpture can make a remarkable and transformative addition to a dull corner. The right art can beautify any environment.

Some people buy art as a sign of status. Imagine showing off to your friends a recently acquired Picasso original. Imagine the gossip and admiration that would surround you and how many of your peers will now see you as a person of stature, a person of class.

The purists among us will simply buy art for its beauty.buying art purchase art art appreciation sculpture artists art investing

Which Knitting Yarns Should You Choose? Posted By: Michael Saville

Anyone who has anything to do with knitting will know the importance of knitting yarns. For many people one of the most enjoyable aspects of the craft is browsing through the many yarns available in a knitting shop. This is because there are numerous textures of yarn and a vast array of colours to choose from. All in all choosing your knitting yarn is a pleasurable experience.

People who are experienced in the art of knitting know the importance of using the best quality knitting yarn they can get hold of. In fact what type of knitting yarn to use is one of the most important decisions a craftsperson has to make. The choice available is vast and the decision depends on what garment you want to create.
