Finding The Nursing Program That's Right For You Posted By: Jason Lom

Nursing has always been a great field to get into, and for good reason. The pay is solid, the benefits are great, the training time to get into the field is relatively low, and there has always been an abundance of jobs in this field. These days, nursing school is becoming even more popular than in years past. This can be attributed to the economic downturn and the increasingly aging demographics of most developed countries.

The aging populations virtually guarantee job stability in this field for at least the next few decades. And with job stability an increasingly rare commodity, rarer still is the opportunity to get into a good paying and stable career with only a couple years of training outside of high school.

When it comes to choosing the right nursing program, there are generally three options. You can become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN). The CNA option for most people is a stepping stone to a more prestigious position. The program only takes a couple weeks to complete and pays around $15 an hour.Nursing School Nursing Program Practical Nursing School Practical Nursing Program

Becoming A Certified Nursing Assistant Posted By: Tommie Emerson

A certified nursing assistant, also known as a CNA, works closely with patients to care for their basic physical and emotional needs. A certified nursing assistant is authorized to perform specific duties to assist nurses. The certified nursing assistant typically works in a nursing home or hospital, and performs everyday living tasks for the elderly, chronically sick, or rehabilitation patients who cannot care for themselves. Certified nursing assistants are important members of the health care team who often hold a high level of experience and ability. While they do not require extensive health care training to practice their profession, a high level of manual dexterity and good interpersonal communication skills are usually necessary. They often undergo some formal education, apprenticeship or on-the-job training in areas such as body mechanics, nutrition, personal care skills, and records-keeping.

Some CNAs have a government certification, which indicates in-depth training and qualification and allows them to take on a wider scope of responsibility. These certification exams are distributed by each state. Classes to study for these exams are provided by the American Red Cross as well as other providers.

For Senior Care Ct Residents Find Help With Home Health Care Service Posted By: calllendahand

For elderly care CT residents will find that home health care agencies provide a valuable resource to provide medical assistance for older people needing aid with basic household responsibilities. Many of the senior care CT nursing personnel provided by home care agencies are certified nursing assistants (CNAs) trained in helping elderly patients with bathing, dressing and grooming needs. This hand-on nursing aide staff works closely with family members and doctors to make sure the patient has the appropriate physical care and companionship along with any transportation for errands and appointments.

Senior care CT nursing assistants are able to handle some medical responsibilities such as reminders of times to take medication and helping bedridden patients; however only home health care nurses (either registered or licensed vocational) under the supervision of medical doctors can provide medical care such as IV treatments or injections as well as helping manage the plan of care provided by doctors.

Elderly care CT services provided by CNAs will take care of housekeeping duties for homebound seniors, and they also provide respite care to enable family members responsible for primary care of a patient to take much needed breaks from routine care.Senior care CT Home care CT Senior home care CT

What Is A Recession Proof Job? Posted By: Nathan Randall

Although the United States reported unemployment rates have risen dramatically since the end of 2007, the health care industry has countered this trend with extremely consistent job growth each and every month since 2007. In fact, over 300,000 new health care jobs have been created in just the past twelve months. For many folks who are interested in finding out more, a convenient way to access free information about health care education programs (both online and on campus) is through Course Advisor.

In 2008, the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies (IOM) conducted research which determined some amazing statistics. IOM has stated that between the years 2005 and 2030, the total number of adults who are aged 65 and older is estimated to rise from the current level of 37,000,000 to a projected level of over 70,000,000 people here in the United States. This will have an impact of almost doubling the overall size of the population of older adults in the United States!Health Care Jobs Recession Proof Unemployment

Things To Consider About A Nursing Education Posted By: Jason Lom

The health care field is one of the fastest growing in the world, and it's not hard to see why. Most Western countries, particularly the U.S., have an aging population. This trend will continue for at least the next three or four decades. With so many jobs in the health care field, the biggest question is what is the best way to enter it? For many people, the answer is a nursing education.

There are several ways to go about obtaining a nursing education. The three most common are to become either a CNA (certified nursing assistant), LPN (licensed practical nurse), or RN (registered nurse). All three have their advantages and disadvantages, so let's take a closer look at each.

CNA

The CNA position is by far the easiest one in the nursing field to obtain. In fact, in most cases you are not even required to attend a nursing school. All that is usually required is about 3 weeks of training and a certification. Once training is complete and you are certified, you begin with a starting pay of about $10 to $15 an hour.Nursing Education Nursing School

How The Internet Made Nursing Education That Much Easier Posted By: Jason Lom

The medical field is among the most lucrative in the United States -- if not in the entire world -- and it's no wonder that there are millions of people clamoring to get a piece of the action. But let's be honest -- medical school is a killer. 99% of the people who want a career helping others in the medical field are going to be better off getting into one of the reputable nursing schools and becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse.

There are a few different stages of nursedom, if you're unfamiliar. Someone with a diploma and little else who wants to get into the field joins as a CNA -- Certified Nursing Assistant. If you start as a CNA or you're just going into college for nursing, you can opt to become an LPN, a Licensed Practical Nurse, or an RN: a Registered Nurse. CNAs take the required courses in a hospital; college-bound nurses will generally spend some time taking LPN courses at school and other times, they'll be receiving "real-world" LPN training at a hospital.Nursing Schools Nursing Programs Nursing Education

Locating The Sweet Spot For Lpn Training Posted By: Jason Lom

There's a profound shortage of nurses in the United States -- as in there is only one nurse out there for every five jobs he or she could fill. No lie: most people who go into an LPN Program quit within the first five years; it's a very demanding job. But then again, stiff competition and tough conditions mean one thing in every capitalist society: excellent wages. And it's true; even without a four-year college degree, a Licensed Practical Nurse can attain wages in the middle five digits even without a lot of experience under his or her belt!

Becoming a practical nurse is a serious matter. There are three ways to go about it: you can go straight into a hospital and learn 'on the job' as a Certified Nursing Assistant; you can go to college and get a degree in nursing and pass a State-certified test to become a Licensed Practical Nurse; or you can go to college for longer and pass a much more difficult test to become a Registered Nurse.

As a CNA, your job will basically be the hospital equivalent of flipping burgers.LPN programs LPN training LPN school LPN courses

Hospital Vs Nursing Home Cna: 3 Things You Need To Know Posted By: Susan Bean

You may have just completed your Certified Nurse's Assistant (CNA) training and certification exam and are ready to embark on a noble and rewarding profession. The dilemma for you could be which kind of medical facility to work in: a hospital, or a long-term facility like a rehab center or nursing/senior citizen home. There is not much difference by way of job description in either kind of facility.

*Hospital CNA

A hospital CNA's duties on a daily basis includes testing patients' blood pressure, keeping track of their temperature, checking vital signs, making sure the patient gets food and drink, helping them to use the bed pan, keeping the patient clean and changing bet sheets. There are many departments in a hospital, including the emergency room and intensive care, and CNAs may be assigned to any one of them. You will be supervised by a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and will have to take care of your patient based on his or her individual health needs. You will also have report to the RN or LPN on the patient's progress and the care you provided on a daily basis.Licensed Practical Nurse Registered Nurse emergency room intensive care blood pressure certification exam CNA Nursing Home

Cna Personal Hygiene: 7 Things You Should Do Posted By: Susan Bean

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) it will be very important for you to maintain personal hygiene of the highest degree. The main reason for this is that you are working with ailing people whose immunity levels are already low, and if you are not careful you could pass on an infection to them. As a CNA you need to be at all times clean and neat. If you maintain a high standard of hygiene, chances are that you will do the same with your patients.

*You need to make sure that you have a shower every day before going into work. Not only will this keep you feeling fresh during your shift but will keep body odor away. The latter is very important as you will be working in close proximity with patients and do not want them to recoil from any body odor emanating from you.

*You should also avoid wearing any kind of cologne/perfume because some of your patients could have an allergic reaction.

*You would need to make sure you maintain dental hygiene: brush your teeth and make sure your mouth is fresh at all times too.CNA training program medical facilities medical staff dental hygiene Certified Nursing Assistant

5 Tips On How You Can Go From A Cna To An Rn Posted By: Susan Bean

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), it is more than likely that you will have had a Registered Nurse (RN) as your immediate boss. An RN is has many duties and responsibilities and has a team under her. While you may find your career as a CNA very worthwhile you may still want to study further and become and RN. The demand for CNAs is very high in various medical fields, but RNs are sought after because they can deal with a wider range of situations.

*Before you make the decision to join an RN training program, you should make sure that you have really enjoyed your stint as a CNA. You should want to become an RN because you feel you are ready for the responsibility and love the nursing profession; and not just because the pay is more.

*Before committing to the training program, you should consult with a few RNs you know and ask them about their responsibilities and duties, where they completed their degree, and how much the job actually pays. You should weigh all this information before making a decision.

*You should research the colleges or organizations that you are interested in.CNA certificate RN training program RN Registered Nurse Certified Nursing Assistant CNA

Selecting A Cna Training Program: 4 Tips For You Posted By: Susan Bean

Many senior nurses have started out as a CNA and worked their way up the ranks. A CNA's role remains more or less the same, with a few differences depending on where you are working and the organization you are working for. As a CNA, your job will be to provide the safest and most comfortable health care possible. But before becoming a CNA, you will have to complete a training program and will need to make sure you select the program best suited to how you want to your career to progress.

*The first thing you will need to do is make sure the school offering the training course is recognized by a legitimate nursing board. This is very important as potential employers will only accept a degree or diploma from a school that has been accredited by an established organization.

*Though many students find online education more convenient, many prefer on-campus classes. The latter gives you the option of joining a training program offered by a medical facility you may want to work at after certification.CNA training career in nursing online classes medical facility clinical training CNA training program CNA CNA Training Program
