Survey: An American Citizen's View Of The Health Of Its People Posted By: James Edholm

American citizens have aired their view on the health of our nation through a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation survey which was conducted recently.

Many Americans had a pretty interesting take on the health of the country. In this article, I will just share the results as reported and not the whole survey. The poll was run by a professor, Robert Blendon, at the Harvard School of Public Health.

According to the survey, 45 percent of the American public strongly feels that U.S' state of health has actually grown worse in the past 5 years. However, 40 percent simply thought that it is still the same, and just 13 percent believed that the American health has improved.

This is what the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta show:

From the year 2000 to 2007 the life expectancy at birth rose from 76.8 to 77.9 and at age 65 years it rose from 17.6 - 18.6 years.

Deaths arising from every cause, all ages dropped from 869 per 100,000 - 760.2

Deaths caused by heart disease dropped from 257.6 to 190.9,

Deaths caused by different forms of cancer dropped from 199.American health care the health statistics of the American people healthcare health care

Implementation Of Wellness Incentives On The Rise Posted By: James Edholm

More and more employers are implementing wellness incentives and of course, disincentives in order to get employees to take part in the organization's wellness program - this program appear to be saving employers' good money.

According to the survey conducted by a company known as "Staying@Work", there is a big boost in the amount of companies that offer incentives for workers to take part in their wellness initiatives, which attempt to enhance workers' health and productivity.

In a lot of cases, wellness programs will need to first come up with a baseline in order to assess the level of health of the company staff population and figure out precisely where to focus their attention and of course, efforts.

In order to carryout this task, the company staff are typically asked to fill out an assessment questionnaire. Without knowing where to cut costs, the implementation of the wellness incentive will be a big joke.

According to experts, 4 in 5 employers will provide some kind of incentive to employees who take part in the company's wellness program by the end of the year 2012. Taking part in a company's wellness program appears to be worthwhile AND hellip;.Wellness incentives wellness program wellness initiatives disincentives

Health Plan Changes In 2012 Under The Obamacare Posted By: James Edholm

A lot of things are taking place in the Massachusetts healthcare over the next couple of years. Okay, here are just some of the things that would take place in the year 2012 - that is, if the world does not come to an end. If you are fully insured, a lot of this will take place automatically: translation, you will be the one paying for the compliance, while your carrier will do the work for you. From January 1st 2013, you will be the one who will be responsible for reporting the cost of your health plan. But, if you are self funded, you may be required to do some of this by yourself. The chief provisions that require attention in 2012 actually relate to the following:

Summary of Benefits AND Coverage (SBC)

Sponsors of self insured health plans and insurers will be required to provide a Summary of Benefits AND Coverage to all applicants and participants, this will be based on a format that was set by Health and Human Services (HHS), utilizing standardized definitions.Healthcare Health care Health plans Health plan

Can More Flexible Workplace Regimens Improve Productivity And Profit? Posted By: James Edholm

A recent article at the site WhenWorkWorks ( http://whenworkworks.org/research/downloads/www_us_workflex.pdf ) suggests that the appropriate use of flexible work arrangements can help employers achieve:

Increased employee job satisfaction

Lower insurance costs through healthier employees

Lower turnover

Not a bad thing, I think you'd agree.

They argue that workforce flexibility provides employees with the resources they need to be fully engaged and effective, both at work and at home. Studies have show that ..."- AND frac34; of employees feel that they don't have enough time for their spouses, children, themselves and their homes. As a result, younger employees are beginning to lower their work ambitions to allow for that mix of responsibilities. And therefore, you will notice that a majority of the employees will view the job as something that will earn them money and not actually enjoy what they are doing. This will definitely cause a slowdown in production and employee output.

Clearly, this isn't good for the employer. An employee who is purposely performing below her maximum capabilities is a drain on the company resources. You aren't doing any good for the employee, and you aren't doing any good for yourself or your company.Flexibility job employers employees flex programs flex options flexible workplace workplace regimens

Can Productivity And Profit Be Improved By More Flexible Workplace Regimens? Posted By: James Edholm

new article at WhenWorkWorks.org ( http://whenworkworks.org/research/downloads/www_us_workflex.pdf ) actually suggests that proper use of flexible work plans can help employers achieve the following:

Improved employee work satisfaction

Lower insurance expenses because employees are healthier Lower turnover No employer will find anything wrong with the aforementioned.

They point out that workforce flexibility offers members of an organization the resources that they need in order to become totally engaged and effective at their place of work and at home.

Research has shown that two thirds to three quarters of employees feel like they do not spend enough quality time with their spouses, kids, themselves and their houses. This makes a lot of employees put a lid over their work ambitions in order to make room for their home life.

Obviously, this is not good news to any employer. A worker who is intentionally performing below his or her maximum abilities is simply a drain on the organization's resources. As a business owner, you will not be doing any good for your members of staff and you will not be doing any good for yourself or your business if you fail to deal with the situation.Flex Programs flexibility program workforce flexibility flexible workforce

Workplace Flexibility In The Us Status Report Posted By: James Edholm

Workplace flexibility is a really great way of providing employees with the necessary resources that they require in order to remain occupied and successful at their place of work and at home.

The helpful effects of flexibility at the workplace is vital because the need for such flexibility is quite great. When workers know that they can perform their work task at a more convenient time, they will put in their best to ensure that they do a great job.

Two thirds to three quarters of the working class population feel that they do not spend quality time with their spouse/partners, kids and themselves. A lot of employees complain of not having enough time to spend with their spouses/partners, their children, themselves or have the time to volunteer at their outreach programs and be a part of the community and so on.

Younger workers may start lowering their career ambitions as a result of insufficient flexibility to manage their work and family/personal life. Young workers who are not "hungry" enough to make a positive change, are nothing but a waste of the company's resources.

Employees feel that flexibility programs can stagnate their career.workplace flexibility flexibility programs flexibility in the workplace

Patient/consumer Involvement In Care Is Being Promoted By New Health Care Development Posted By: James Edholm

The United States' Federal Government is seriously encouraging all of us (and by "all of us", I mean people who are old enough to get a health plan on their own) to take control of our healthcare while protecting our privacy. The ONC (Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology) of the HHS (Health and Human Services) released its PHR (Personal Health Record) Model Privacy Notice. ONC hopes that this will provide patients a better awareness of PHR vendors' security, privacy and data/information sharing practices - the internet is filled with unscrupulous people who want to get their hands on other people's personal details so that they can milk 'em for every penny! Secondly, CMS (Centers for Medical and Medicaid Services) and other Health and Human Services agencies gave proposed regulation that would offer patients direct access to lab test results. Taking control of your healthcare is really an awesome idea. Naturally, a large bulk of the unwillingness of doctors and carriers to make this data/information available is simply because the Federal Government got involved in the worker's privacy rights; thus, making it risky for the carrier or provider to release any info.Healthcare Health care plan Health care plans Health care

I Know The Problem With The United States' Health Care! Posted By: James Edholm

This is me screaming blue murder! Be prepared to go stark raving nuts when you finally know the problem with US healthcare!

There is a fellow I know, who is quite ill. Recently, this fellow had to go to Merrimack Valley hospital's ER (emergency room) from his home in order to be stabilized for a couple of hours; after which he was transferred to a reputable teaching hospital in Boston's downtown. There is no doubt that his case is quite serious.

The screaming begins:

Okay, this fellow sits in an ER for a couple of hours (4 hours to be exact). Everyone knows for a fact that just walking past an ER costs money! So everyone was expecting a hefty bill. Oh my, none of them were disappointed - the hospital charged the carrier a sum of $2,428. Oh, we did the math, and it turned out that he was charged $607 per hour!

However, that is not what is enraging about the US healthcare - No siree! This is what actually drove me round the bend.health care healthcare hefty bill bill health insurance health insurance coverage US healthcare healthcare insurance

Could Your Assets Be Better Protected By A Uk Prenup? Posted By: Tim Bishop

In recent years prenup agreements have become commonplace in America. But now it is becoming more common for a UK prenup or prenuptial agreement to be set down in writing before a couple gets married.

They may not yet be legally binding in the United Kingdom but there are many signs that this could change in the near future. Even before it does, a UK prenup entered into today could help your legal position in the future, should you ever get divorced.

Some couples do not believe in the idea of setting down their wishes financially should they ever be divorced. Indeed if both halves of the couple are entering into the marriage on a similar financial footing, they may decide there is no real reason to get a UK prenuptial agreement.

However this is not the case with all couples. In some cases one half of the partnership may have significantly more in the way of assets than the other half. In this situation they may wish to get a UK prenup made in the hope that they can preserve their assets, should a divorce ever become a reality in the future.

The alternative is sobering to think about.UK prenup UK Prenuptial Agreement UK prenup lawyer lawyers solicitor solicitors UK prenuptial agreements

Environmental Benefits Of Solar Power Installation Posted By: Gerald Dlubala

There is one primary cause that most of the people prefer to light and power their homes from different kind of energy sources such as solar power and wind, and they are comparatively inexpensive except the primary set up price. Nature supplies sunlight to people collecting through their solar panels. There is one more reason that makes people for choosing the solar power as it benefits the environment. Presently, energy efficient, green and eco-friendly science is in demand, and if the fuels cost goes high then installation of solar power become more popular.

In many industrialized countries the electricity is produced by nuclear fission process and burning of coal, both of the process has an adverse effect on environment. The combustion process of fossil fuels such as oil and coal produces the greenhouse gases methane and carbon dioxide. Environmental scientist maintains the record and they noticed that the global temperature is rising slowly. It is interesting to know that the temperature rising is directly related to industrialisation and combustion of fossil fuels which produces carbon dioxide.

Humanly produced CO2 releases more heat on Earth which reflects back to space, so the planet heats.solar panel installers solar panel installers Andover

Top Tips For Creating 'living Together Agreements' Posted By: Tim Bishop

If you are cohabiting with your partner as an unmarried couple, then you must ensure that you have legal safeguards in place to govern the ownership of your property. In order to do this a trust deed for joint ownership should be created. This deed will set out the ownership rights of both parties involved.

What will the deed contain?

A basic trust deed will contain the following:

-Fundamental information about the property i.e. the date of purchase and the purchase price paid

-What equity shares are owned by each party in the property

-What initial contributions were made to the purchase price of the property by each party

-What events will terminate the agreement

-Detailed termination provisions i.e. upon separation will one party buy the other out or will the property be sold

-What contributions have been made by each party to the mortgage payments, bills and utilities

-What will happen to any chattels contained within the property

The main purpose of the trust deed is to create an arrangement whereby if the relationship comes to an end; there are amicable directions to deal with the property.

A trust deed may also contain a death provision.Cohabitation Agreement Andover Solicitors prenuptial law Family solicitor divorce lawyer lawyers solicitor solicitors

Wiggington Village Posted By: David Fisher

The little village of Wigginton lies on the edge of the beautiful Chiltern Hills in Hertfordshire, very close to the Buckinghamshire border. The nearest big towns are Tring, Chesham and Andover and there are many larger towns a short drive away.

Wigginton has a fascinating history and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. The village has been in the hands of various families over the centuries and many squabbles amongst landowners have taken place over its manor and lands over the last several hundred years.

In Victorian times the community of Wiggington was best known for straw plaiting. Until the start of the twentieth century much of its land formed part of the Rothschild estates. The Rothschild family were responsible for bringing Muntjac deer to the area and these animals are still found in the vicinity today.

The village has an excellent community spirit and has several groups which maintain village activities. There is a women's institute, cub and scout groups, a gardening group and activities such as barn dances are popular. Local estate agents consider the village to be a highly desirable location and anyone who lives round here would agree.property real estate estate agents buy house house for sale buy flat business finance

Don' Posted By: Tim Bishop

Although a daunting and scary prospect, marriage is also an exciting and uplifting time of your life. Undoubtedly however it is one of the most rewarding emotional and legal commitments that a person can make.

However as with all major life events it requires a degree of planning in terms of a UK prenuptial agreement. It is easy here to focus on planning for the actual wedding and nothing else, but it will pay dividends to think beyond this as well. It feels odd to put the idea of divorce into your mind before you have even exchanged rings, but at the same time it will benefit you both to plan for all eventualities.

When you think about it, it is much like making a will. No one particularly wants to do it, but once it is done you have peace of mind. You will know that should the worst happen, the financial side of things has already been laid out and taken care of.

It is much the same when it comes to UK prenuptial agreements. You will hope never to have the need to fall back on it.UK Prenuptial Agreement UK prenup lawyer lawyers solicitor solicitors UK prenuptial agreements
