Afghan Rail Expansion Plans To Help Access $3 Trillion In Mineral Wealth Posted By: Move One Inc

Afghan officials have announced plans for a massive rail network project to support the nascent mining sector, an industry that may have as much as $3 trillion in untapped iron, copper, gold and lithium deposits.

It was not until 2010 that Afghanistan completed the construction of its first regularly functioning railway track, a 75-kilometer route linking the northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif to the Uzbekistan border. The proposed expansion will be implemented incrementally, initially connecting Mazar-i-Sharif to Andkhoi on the Turkmenistan border, opening a link all the way to the Caspian Sea within two years. Concurrent projects also include a route from Kandahar to Chaman on the Pakistani border, providing access to the Arabian Sea.

The Afghan Minister of Mining, Wahidullah Shahrani, told reporters that the rail project would be a vital element in exploiting the untapped mineral deposits to reduce the country's reliance on Western funding which will ultimately help to prop up its economy and maintain security beyond the scheduled military drawdown.Afghanistan logistics afghanistan Transporting cargo

Enjoy A High Quality Photo Blanket Everytime! Posted By: Paul Smith

Remember the famous photo of Bigfoot strolling across a trail in the woods of Alaska? Or the one of the Loch Ness monster out for a Sunday swim? Those were very exciting - except for one small problem. They were so blurry and distorted that you really couldn't tell if it was a giant hairy biped or some guy in a monkey suit.

What if you wanted to put Bigfoot or your favorite Loch Ness shot on a photo blanket? Would the pictures work? Or what if you have a grainy black and white photo of Mom and Dad taken back in the day? How would those reproduce on a personalized woven blanket?

Hold Still and Smile

Of course the quality of an image can have an impact on your photo blanket. Some photos are just too out-of-focus or otherwise distorted to make a good woven blanket, tapestry or tote bag. But, those photos are the exception, not the rule.

Thanks to the both very skilled designers and very powerful software, most photos today can be transformed into amazing photo blankets. It really doesn't matter if the picture is lower resolution or if it is simply black and white.Photo Blanket Throw Blankets Personalized Blankets Picture Gift

U.s. Troop Reduction Requires Focus On Counter Terrorism Training And Anti-terrorism Training Posted By: Dan Sommer

With the killing of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan, U.S. politicians and citizens have been calling for an end to the U.S. military presence in Afghanistan. Recently, President Obama announced a new troop draw down policy in Afghanistan. After having a military presence in the country for over a decade, the new U.S. policy aims to reduce troops gradually and to completely end combat operations by 2014. U.S. presence in Afghanistan will thus take more of an advisory/educational role with a significant emphasis on counter terrorism training as well as long lasting anti-terrorism training for Afghan government officials, military personnel, and other citizens. This essay provides an overview of this new policy, along with an explanation of the transition to a focus in counter terrorism training within the war-torn country.

New Afghanistan Policy

In mid June 2011, President Obama unveiled a new Afghanistan policy. He declared an immediate reduction of 10,000 troops in two phases, with the eventual withdrawal of all 33,000 "surge" troops by 2012. He also declared that America's "longest war" would draw to a close by 2014. After the initial troop withdrawal, Obama mentioned that the U.S.counter terrorism training anti-terrorism training

Will A Custom Blanket Preserve Same Quality Colors Of My Photos? Posted By: Paul Smith

We've all seen examples of modern art that transforms a regular photograph into something special by changing all the colors around. Sometimes that can be pretty cool. Especially if it is something you planned on doing.

When it happens to your photo without your plan or consent, it can be very uncool. Imagine getting one of those picture holiday cards from your best friend, only to discover her entire family has a blue-orange tint to their skin. Or your son AND rsquo;s prom picture has his blonde hair matching the aqua-green hue of the handsome tie he wore that night. Yes, very uncool.

Unfortunately, when it comes to the photo woven into a custom blanket, the same thing can happen. Colors can get messed up and not reproduced very accurately. This happens all the time, and there are a couple of reasons for it. Before we find out why it happens, let AND rsquo;s take a closer look at what can happen.

Looking Like a Clown

Custom blankets, tapestries, or afghans that are personalized with your photo or artwork all share a common feature. They are carefully woven in a way that will allow colored yarn to recreate the image.Custom Blanket Photo Blankets Throw Blanket Personalize Gifts

The Whole Document Including Obama's Answers Posted By: chridwnjmi

First, let me express my gratitude for the efforts and sacrifices Spain has made in Afghanistan. I believe Spain is committed to the mission in Afghanistan for the same reason we and our other NATO allies are: to ensure the security of your country and to protect the Spanish people from attacks by al Qaeda and its affiliates by denying them safe haven in Afghanistan. Spain knows firsthand the anguish and sorrow of senseless terrorist attacks. Al Qaeda remains the number one terrorist threat to Europe at this time, and al Qaeda leaders have continued to broadcast their intention to attack Europe and America.

NATO remains committed to the Afghanistan mission. Our joint commitment to helping Afghanistan become stable and secure is of vital importance to U.S. and European security. Together with our international partners, including Spain, the United States is focused on defeating al Qaeda and its extremist allies, and helping the Afghan National Security Forces increase their capacity so that they can assume responsibility for securing the Afghan people against external and internal threats. This effort is going to take time and our commitment to Afghanistan and the Afghan people is for the long-term.obama president EEUU Afghanistan

Visit Tomb Of Nader Shah During Your Visit To Iran Posted By: Rahman Mehraby

Tomb of Nader Shah can be seen amid the beautiful flowers of a huge garden. There is a museum nearby too and tourists from different parts of the world travel to Mashad to visit this place. You can reach the tomb by driving only a mile toward the north of Imam Reza's Shrine.

He was buried here after his assassination in 1933. Though it has been considerably ruined, yet you can still see parts of the original structure during your visit to Iran. Constructed with black marble, the mausoleum has a huge metal dome supported on monumental columns. When you visit the site, you will come to know that it is a humble burial place constructed for him.

The plinth on which tomb of Nader Shah is built is just like you would have expected, with the grave of Nader Shah located below the building. The grave of Nader Shah is placed alongside the grave of his wife Zahir Shah, who died afterward.

The Life of Nader Shah

He came to the political scene of Iran in a disturbed time when Afghans had attacked the capital city of the time, Isfahan.
Will Democracy Work For Egypt Posted By: tishbite

This is a question which only time will answer but I personally believe that it will. Another question which I believe will have an effect on this is the degree to which the Egyptians align themselves with Western democracies. The reason that I say this is that Western countries are the best democratic examples that the Egyptians can possibly follow during this time of upheaval and renewal but since President Mubarak was a Western ally and hated by most of the Egyptians they may look at Western democracy in a negative light. In addition the Egyptians are located in an area which is rife with radical Islam. Radical Islam opposes most pro Western values and the Egyptian Government may choose to appease radical Islamic organizations by adopting their anti Western stance and policies.

The Egyptians have done an excellent job of shaping a new government since they forced President Hosni Mubarak to resign. They have successfully set up a model for government and avoided any power plays in the process which would have nullified their efforts. I for one was mildly surprised when I witnessed the apparent ease with which they reestablished their new government.egypt egyptian government new egyptian government
