Lenny Kravitz, The Cranberries And Wolfmother Australian Tour Posted By: Ted Brumby

For the first time in eighteen years, rocker Lenny Kravitz has scheduled performances in Australia. Kravitz is not coming alone; it has been announced that Wolfmother and The Cranberries will be joining him for his performances around Australia. The tour will take place in March 2012 and will include concerts in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Wollongong and Perth.

About Wolfmother
The Sydney band Wolfmother formed in 2000, but it has become well-known for its 1970s rock music sound. The band reached an international audience in 2005 when it released its eponymous debut album. In 2008, two of Wolfmother's members left the band in response to reported "irreconcilable differences," but a new line-up was formed in time to begin recording a second album in March of 2009. In the summer of 2011, Wolfmother began a European tour in which they released several new tracks. Wolfmother intends to release these rock songs on its third album early this year, and this spring's performances will likely feature some of their newest work. Rumoured track titles for the upcoming album and tour include "Every Day/Drone on the Beach," "Meridian" and "Year of the Dragon.lenny kravitz rock music bigpond music

The Easiest Method For Learning Blues Guitar - Musical Notation Or Tablature? Posted By: Jim Bruce

In the 60s, Stephan Grossman and others produced a form of musical notation for guitar that was peculiar to those years. Most of the first blues men were dead and gone by that time, but a notable few remained, such as Son House, Mississippi John Hurt, Lightnin' Hopkins and Reverend Gary Davis. It was Grossman's meeting with Davis that was the catalyst that ignited the quest for old style blues picking. Many students in those years wanted to learn and pick the real blues in the original old style, just like the original masters. Blues guitar tabs were the backbone of this study.

Blues songs have a traditional root, and many different songs have been created using an original piece. Take Sweet Home Chicago by Robert Johnson, as one example. It was originally known as 'Kokomo Blues' and was penned by Scrapper Blackwell. In addition to countless variations around one theme, new pieces were created in various regional picking styles. Within those regional styles you can also find considerable variations between artists, so producing a huge range of blues guitar picking.blues guitar tabs learn the blues learn blues guitar how to play the blues blues guitar lessons

Tragic Deaths Of Music Superstars Posted By: Louise Gold

Fame comes and goes, but for some music stars, the end of their career comes not from the loss of fame but from the loss of life itself.

These fallen musicians, brilliant in their own right, are a tragic loss to humanity. But as their lives end, their music lives on.

Here is how we remember them.

Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse was an English singer and songwriter whose songs "Rehab" and "Back to Black" won her five Grammy awards. Known for her deep contralto voice, she performed jazz and soul music with impeccable mastery.

Throughout her short life, she battled with drugs and alcohol - and it was a battle thoroughly covered by the press. Her last concert in Serbia was a disaster after Winehouse showed up drunk on stage. Her tour was then unfortunately cancelled after her performance.

She was tragically found dead in her London apartment on July 23, 2011. Police have not yet verified the cause of her death. She was 27 years old.

Kurt Cobain

Kurt Cobain was a musician, songwriter and artist. His claim to fame was being the vocalist of the band Nirvana.CD Duplication

Pearl Jam Tickets : Pearl Jam Has Broadened Its Musical Range With Subsequent Releases Posted By: Amanda Harrison

Compared with the other grunge bands of the early 1990s, Pearl Jam style is noticeably less heavy and harkens back to the classic rock music of the 1970s. Pearl Jam has cited many punk rock and classic rock bands as influences, including The Who, Neil Young, and the Ramones.

Pearl Jam success has been attributed to its sound, which fuses "the riff-heavy stadium rock of the '70s with the grit and anger of '80s post-punk, without ever neglecting hooks and choruses."Gossard's rhythm guitar style is known for its sense of beat and groove, while McCready's lead guitar style, influenced by artists such as Jimi Hendrix, has been described as "feel-oriented" and "rootsy."Pearl Jam has broadened its musical range with subsequent releases. As he had more influence on the band's sound, Vedder sought to make the band's musical output less catchy. He said, "I felt that with more popularity, we were going to be crushed, our heads were going to pop like grapes." By 1994 Vitalogy, the band began to incorporate more punk influences into its music.

The band 1996 album, No Code, was a deliberate break from the musical style of Ten.Pearl Jam Concert Tickets

Guitar Effects Bring That Studio Sound To Life Posted By: Lola Anderton

When it comes to guitar effects, having a clear idea of what sound you are aiming for before you buy a pedal will make a big difference in choosing the right. There is a wide variety of effects pedals to choose from which should allow a guitarist to find the right sound for them and their band but buying the wrong effects pedal can have a hugely different impact on the overall sound produced. If you have a clear thought on the sound you hope to make or know which band you are trying to replicate, buying a pedal will be so much easier.

Many acts are influenced by the psychedelic sounds of the late 60s and early 70s and wish to add this texture to their music. Music that is often referred to as sweeping or mind-bending can be achieved through a flanger style pedal and is one of the most popular guitar effects pedals. This style of effect can massively transform the sound of a guitar and can be quite overpowering if not controlled properly.Guitar effects guitar effects pedals bass guitar effects guitar effects processor guitar effects pedal

The Evolution Of Reggae Music Posted By: Art Gib

Reggae music has become one of the mainstream pop music forms. There have been many genres that have come from it including Ska. Out of all the music that comes from the Carribean, this form is the most popular. It was ranked as one of the world's main pop music styles between the years of 1970-1980. The genre has produced star reggae music artists such as Bob Marley. How it all started is a little hazy, but we do know Jamaica is its origin.

Some believed it originated in the 60s as a mix between Jamaican folk tunes, and American rhythms. Some even go back to the 40s when they say African folk songs fused with the Calypso music. This music was then passed through the slums of Jamaica and was pushed to the capital city.

This music has undergone a lot of transformations over the years to get to the latest reggae tunes we hear today from reggae singers. There were many evolutionary stages of the genre and two that stuck the best were mento and ska. Some would argue that mento was a grandfather to the reggae music artists sing today.latest reggae tunes reggae singers reggae music artist

Reasons For Gucci Handbags' Popularity Posted By: Nike Kobe

Gucci handbags are world renowned for their high quality materials. In addition, they feature classic timeless looks without giving up functionality. A quick visit to their Web site reveals a branding sensibility that captures haute couture sensibility with upscale personality.

There are a number of Gucci bags to get the sophisticated lady for ever occasion. If you're going out for a night on the town, then look for an evening bag. If you will be doing some shopping, consider shoulder bags or totes. Gucci also features a line of exotics for those on the cutting edge of fashion. Perhaps the most famous icon of this house of fashion is the Jackie O. shoulder bag which was worn by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis when she was the wife of U.S. President John F. Kennedy. This piece featured the famous GG logo as it rose to prominence.

Not long after the Jackie O. bag symbolized Gucci's rise to success in the 60s, fake handbags using the Gucci name flooded the market and cheapened the product. Even today, knockoffs can be found in the streets of Italy.gucci handbags gucci bags discount gucci handbags

Some Like It Hot Blu-ray Posted By: Steve Exeter

Some Like It Hot marks the Blu-ray debut for screen legend Jack Lemmon and illustrious writer/director Billy Wilder, this was the first in a 7 film partnership and I anticipate 20th Century Fox shall be releasing the other Mirisch Company titles that they've recently acquired from struggling MGM Studios including The Apartment, Irma La Douce, The Fortune Cookie and Avanti! which I will review as soon as they become available.

I said in my previous Jack Lemmon article that Some Like It Hot was a touchstone film for me when I first saw it as a 12 year old about to be bitten by the acting bug. It started my fascination with the craft for which, like many, I felt that Lemmon was the master. This view was not shared by my schoolmates who ribbed me constantly for what seemed to them as an inappropriate obsession with a comical figure from a bygone age and I was often asked why I wasn't fanatical about serious actors from my own era, such as Jack Nicholson or Robert De Niro?@online_inquirer Billy Wilder Blu-ray George Raft I.A.L.
