Larnaca is situated on the east coast of the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. Cyprus lies just off the south coast of Turkey and has wonderful temperatures all year round meaning cheap holidays in Larnaca can be enjoyed at any time.

There are three stunning beaches around Larnaca Bay and the main area has a picturesque tree lined promenade. Water sports are readily available along the eight miles of coastline with windsurfing, parasailing, jet skiing, banana boats and fly fishing to test the adrenalin seekers. You'll be spoilt for choice around the picturesque harbour at Mackenzie Beach with a great selection of succulent fish restaurants. Scuba diving and snorkelling simply have to be tried on all holidays in Larnaca with one of the most famous shipwrecks lying on the sea bed just off the coast here. The remains of the Zenobia are just one of the wonderful sights that greet scuba divers in this area along with tunnels and reefs, colourful fish and fascinating corals.

The Place to Solve your Marital Troubles

Do you dread the yearly marital battle over where to take your annual holiday, I mean much as you love your partner, do their differing opinions on how to spend your holidays drive you to destruction? You may even take the drastic option of separate holidays just to keep you both happy.

You’ve spent all year dreaming of a Caribbean holiday together, spending your days lounging on cashmere soft sands, cocktail in hand gently developing a golden tan. Evenings getting changed into your finest clothing, being wined and dined by sunset before dancing the night away. Then in he comes with giant pin and bursts your bubble with his version of the ideal holiday.

A golfing break you scream! What kind of holiday will that be, sat in warm clothes (unpredictable UK weather) watching him hit a golf ball around a course all day; you’re only source of excitement being the book you absorb yourself in and the only evidence of tan being of the fake kind.

Well this summer be prepared, arm yourself with a holiday brochure bookmarked at the Dominican Republic. This wonderful Caribbean retreat could well be the answer to your troubles. **End Summary** Topics: cheap Dominican Republic holidays Marital problems
About the Author:
Yvonne Dawson also writes for TravelNewz, check out the site for interesting and fun news stories .

Can Have... Will Have!!!

Why is it that whenever we are told we can't have something it makes it all the more appealing??

Take the current Icelandic volcano eruption, plastered over every daily newspaper and on every single news program at the moment. The whole nation is more than aware of the mass disruption this magnificent force of nature has sparked, particularly within the airline and holiday industry.

Whilst I honestly do sympathise with all those people currently stranded abroad with no way of returning home for the next few days, I also feel a slight twinge of jealousy. I mean imagine being away in the Caribbean, or even the Canaries, at the moment where your holiday is coming to an end and you're already feeling depressed, you may even be dreading the thought of leaving that local you've sparked up a holiday romance with! Then in steps Mother Nature and answers all your prayers, you now have the perfect excuse to call work and tell them you won't be returning for your next shift, because you have a legitimate reason! Now do you understand my envy? **End Summary** Topics: cheap Caribbean holidays
About the Author:
Yvonne Dawson also writes for TravelNewz, check out the site for interesting and fun news stories .

Mexico on the Cheap

Cheap holidays in Mexico are not always easy to find as they appear to be growing in popularity year upon year. Due to it's Central American location, Mexico is classed as a year round location so it is difficult to find a cheap 'off peak' season, however as May to October is known as the rainy season around here, this would probably be the best time to find those cheap holidays in Mexico.

Don't be put off by the words 'rainy season' though as during this time the temperatures rarely drop and as soon as the rain stops its business as usual by the pools and down on the beach.

Most holidaymakers head for the eastern Caribbean coast to resorts such as Cancun and Cozumel on the Yucatan Peninsula where you will find a host of water sports to choose from.

The cost of cheap holidays in Mexico can be kept down by a careful choice of accommodation, although the luxury resorts and all inclusive hotels are nice, there are some wonderful guest houses and self catering apartments to choose from too. **End Summary** Topics: cheap holidays in Mexico cheap holidays Mexico
About the Author:
Yvonne Dawson also writes for TravelNewz, check out the site for interesting and fun news stories .

The main reason many tourists head to Cancun is to sample the world famous ‘Party Zone’ which is situated around the marina.
Life in the Algarve...

The dramatic coastline of Portugal holidays has been extremely trendy for the last 40 years. The most popular region is the Algarve which stretches along the sunny southern coast. Portugal holidays can be taken the whole year round due to its wonderful mild winter climate.

Despite being one of Europe’s smallest countries, Portugal has had a huge impact on the world over the years. Explorers Vasco de Gama, commander of the first ship to sail from Europe to India and Cabral, credited with discovering Brazil, both come from this country.

Life today still revolves around the sea with fantastic beaches, delightful marinas and a vast array of water sports available throughout the Algarve.

Despite growing rapidly into a thriving tourist resort the Algarve has managed to retain much of the charm from is early days as a coast full of small fishing villages.
The quiet resorts of Alvor and Praia da Luz are perfect for families as are the stunning beaches at Praia da Oura and Praia da Roche. For something a little livelier then you need to be in Vilamoura or Albufeira with the 'strip' at Montechoro being the liveliest part of the Algarve. **End Summary** Topics: Portugal holidays
About the Author:
Yvonne Dawson also writes for TravelNewz, check out the site for interesting and fun news stories .

An Extremely Beautiful Experience...

Holidays to the Dalaman region will take you to a very green and pleasant land. Half of the countryside here is covered in verdant green forests, mix this with the clear blue waters and powdery soft sands and Dalaman region holidays become extremely beautiful experiences. Wherever you stay on Dalaman region holidays you cannot fail to be impressed with the views.

Not many people choose to stay in Dalaman itself although the airport is here so everyone has to pass through at some point.

Ovacik and Hisaronu are perfect examples of the natural beauty this area exudes, with pine clad hills rolling onto perfect sandy beaches. Stay in charming little villages such as Fethiye or traditional fishing villages like Kalkan.

Dalyan is a firm favourite with nature lovers and keen walkers with its stunning mountain scenery, freshwater lake and wonderful wildlife. Marmaris is one of the livelier resorts in the area and while popular with families, it also attracts the party crowd. Nearby Icmeler is much less hectic but close enough to Marmaris to enjoy the best of both worlds.

For some fascinating history why not try a day trip to the ancient ruins at Ephesus and Pamukkale. **End Summary** Topics: Cheap Dalaman region holidays Holidays to the Dalaman regio
About the Author:
Yvonne Dawson also writes for TravelNewz, check out the site for interesting and fun news stories .

Welcome to the Coast of Light

Many people are under the impression that holidays to Spain have become far too 'British'. Well holidays to the Costa de la Luz are totally at the other end of the scale. This part of Spain has retained so much tradition and authenticity; you really do feel like you are in the very heart of Spain. The Costa de la Luz stretches from the Portuguese border to the coastal town of Tarifa on the straits of Gibraltar, and has stunning stretches of soft sandy beaches.
It’s a good sign that the Spanish themselves like to holiday here, attracted by the fragrant pine forests hiding laid back towns and the welcome Atlantic breezes that create the perfect conditions for water sports. The long sunny days provide an amazingly clear light hence the name Costa de la Luz, translated as the coast of light.
You will be spoilt for choice with the menus on holidays in the Costa de la Luz where superb Andalucían dishes take precedence over predictable tourist menus. They are also extremely proud of their locally produced sherry and brandy and offer guided tours around their wineries, known locally as ‘bodegas’ where the alcohol is produced. **End Summary** Topics: cheap holidays in the Costa De La Luz Costa De La Luz
About the Author:
Yvonne Dawson also writes for TravelNewz, check out the site for interesting and fun news stories .

Nip Tuck Here Or Nip Tuck There?

If you are considering any cosmetic surgery in the future, will you be trying to cut the costs by having the procedure abroad or will you be staying here in the UK?
There are many advantages of travelling out of the country to get cosmetic surgery and this is often referred to as a ‘Cosmetic Surgery Holiday’ or a ‘Facelift Holiday’. When travelling abroad to receive surgery, as well as the attraction of maybe getting a holiday from it, you will also find that the prices are generally cheaper.
Some of the foremost points to think about though are making sure you get a surgeon who has all the correct credentials and also that the surgeon is registered with the appropriate governing organization to carry out the practice.
Make sure the surgeon is authorized and certified and don’t be frightened to ask, as qualified and honest surgeons would not be offended by you asking.
A language obstruction can be one of the main downfalls of surgery abroad and trying to get an English speaking doctor should be a priority.
Attempt to contact some of the surgeon’s previous patients. **End Summary** Topics: Holidays to Costa Almeria surgery abroad nip tuck abroad
About the Author:
Yvonne Dawson also writes for TravelNewz, check out the site for interesting and fun news stories .

2010 has been the year of the rat, the love rat. The paparazzi have been putting the hours in chasing many of our much loved celebrity couples as stories of their infidelity has hit the headlines. Many of the scorned women have been pictured mending their broken hearts on powdered white sands in far off exotic holidays. One week later when public sympathy is at its high, the poor betrayed partner is cavorting on a beach bending their broken heart with some fun in the sun. A clear message to their cheating ex is splashed across the tabloids for all to see. So, with that in mind, if you have just got rid of your cheating (love) rat, head to sunnier climates a la Mrs. Cole (is it too early to call her Cheryl Tweedy again?) and help your healing heart along.

So, you’ve packed their belongings (and thrown them out of the window!) now its time to pack yours. Unfortunately, not all of us have the millions of pounds the celebs have to jump on board private jets and escape to paradise for a few weeks. **End Summary** Topics: cheap holidays to Taba Break up holidays cheating
About the Author:
Yvonne Dawson also writes for TravelNewz, check out the site for interesting and fun news stories .

Arguably, in several people’s opinions, the most excellent courses are nearer to home and have some of the best reviews by amateur and professional players.

Tee off this summer to some of the most spectacular golf courses that are nearer to home with remarkable surroundings, history and forestry.

For example, the finest golf course in the whole of Europe is quite possibly Valderrama Golf Club positioned in the Costa del Sol in the south of Spain. **End Summary** Topics: cheap Costa Del Sol holidays Golf holidays golf in Spain
About the Author:
Yvonne Dawson also writes for TravelNewz, check out the site for interesting and fun news stories .

A Surprisingly Green and Pleasant Land

This surprising green and pleasant land stretches over two continents and proudly shows off where east meets west to perfection. European principles sit easily aside Asian traditions while the ancient history welcomes modern resorts.

Bodrum, Antalya, Izmir and Dalaman are the main tourist regions in Turkey and each one becomes more and more popular every year. Holidaymakers are attracted to the wonderful weather, fantastic beaches, ancient treasures and historical ruins. Spend afternoons bartering at the local bazaar for gold and silver, carpets and rugs, or take a boat trip or gullet cruise from one of the many affluent marinas along these sunny shores. Haggling at the local markets is a way of life here and can be great fun. Don't be scared to haggle even if you've never tried it before, its great fun and they expect you to try it, don't offer silly prices and stand your ground, and you’ll be amazed at how good it feels when you get yourself a bargain.

Cheap holidays in Turkey have everything from historic journeys through Roman, Lycian, Persian, Ottoman and Byzantine times, lazy days soaking up the sun, or a hectic week full of water sports. **End Summary** Topics: cheap holidays in Turkey holidays in Turkey Cheap holidays
About the Author:
Yvonne Dawson also writes for TravelNewz, check out the site for interesting and fun news stories .

The Culture of Kos

Located in the Aegean Sea, Kos is the third largest of the Dodecanese Islands and lies just off the coast of Turkey, despite being Greek. Kos Town is the capital of the island and lies just 15km from the islands airport meaning transfer times here are kept to a minimum.
Kos Town is often associated with boozy Brits, lager louts and neon lit clubs and pubs, however there is so much more on this island if you just look a little closer.
While you cannot deny that the centre of town is a party hot spot, the outskirts are much more civilized and friendly. There is a variety of shops and restaurants, many with children's menus, along the tree lined promenade. The quaint harbour area has fishing boats glistening in the bright sunlight and cruise boats waiting to take you island hopping or over to the Turkish mainland for the day.
There are plenty of water sports to choose from on the sand and pebble beaches or just spend time relaxing and working on that all important tan.
Whilst the new part of town is modern and lively the old part has some wonderful Venetian styled buildings and Roman Baths. **End Summary** Topics: cheap Kos holidays Kos twon Greek islands airports
About the Author:
Yvonne Dawson also writes for TravelNewz, check out the site for interesting and fun news stories .

1) A 2km stretch of crystal clear waters and beautiful soft sand, Playa d’en Bossa, IBIZA is possibly one of the best beaches within a 2 hour flight from the UK. From pedaloes for those wanting to chill out and take things easy, to kite surfing for the more adventurous, the main strip offering the usual water sports. The south wind along this coast makes it appealing to windsurfers too who enjoy riding the waves. Ideal for when the sun gets too intense, there are many beachfront bars offering long, refreshing cocktails.

Discover the Mythical Magic of Crete

The largest and furthest south of the Greek islands, Crete has an amazing coastline that stretches over 1,000 km, and is perhaps part of the reason why over 2 million tourists came here last year. Europe, Africa and Asia all meet just around this island and influences from each culture blend easily with the classical Greek history that the island has to offer.

The warmth and hospitality of the people in Crete has been bestowed on them by Zeus, the ancient God of hospitality who was born on the island. Many people visit the cave where Zeus was born on their Crete holidays along with the Venetian Fortress in Rethymnon and the wonderful Minoan Palace at Knossos. Byzantine monasteries proudly litter the island and old mosques make it look like time has stood still for many years here.

In Chania many of the hotels are old Venetian houses that have been converted, set in wonderful traditional streets amongst quaint restaurants and terraces. For some serious people watching just chill out in the old town at the Venetian style harbour and soak up the traditional atmosphere. **End Summary** Topics: cheap Crete holidays Crete holidays
About the Author:
Yvonne Dawson also writes for TravelNewz, check out the site for interesting and fun news stories .

There are always some things you can guarantee you'll be witness to on holiday, whether its exotic breaks to faraway destinations, cheap holidays in Lesvos or a family break in Spain. The reasons why you see such sights is unknown but it always makes me smile thinking about them! Here is a short holiday sight phenomena list to get you started on thinking of your own.

1) Stranded Towels By the Pool at 6am

The sun is barely poking its head up and the hotel is just starting to cook breakfast yet you can guarantee they will already be in place. Standing proud waiting to be reunited with their rightful owners are the beach towels that are sneakily placed on the best sun loungers reserving them for the hardcore among us. I am never awake early enough to partake, thank goodness!

2) Erratic Taxi Drivers and Cliff Edges

Transfer coaches, push bikes and mopeds all challenge the erratic taxi drivers on holiday for right of way. Coupled with your transfer coach taking cliff top bends as hair rising speeds makes the journey from the airport to the hotel somewhat terrifying. **End Summary** Topics: cheap holidays in Lesvos family holiday holiday funnys
About the Author:
Yvonne Dawson also writes for TravelNewz, check out the site for interesting and fun news stories .

Up-market and classy shops and restaurants are the focal point of Mykonos Town and are the main attraction for the people who travel her to the island of Mykonos.

This island is one of the smaller islands of the Greek Isles and is fairly hilly so it won't be so good for people who maybe have walking difficulties.

Nevertheless, this beautiful island has numerous beaches all with fine, golden sands and the south of the island is where you will come across the best ones with there very shallow waters and they also prove to be a favourite with families. It has a typically classic Mediterranean climate with mild and fairly wet winters but hot and very warm summers. The most inspirational part of the island is Mykonos Town. It offers a sophisticated and chic atmosphere with plenty of glitz and glam.

This area of Mykonos Town is set on the west coast of Mykonos and has a beautiful and traditional Greek setting with the blue domed churches scattered in the area along with the charming whitewashed houses. The shopping in this town is to die for if you are a shopaholic. **End Summary** Topics: cheap holidays to Mykonos Mykonos holidays Mykonos town
About the Author:
Yvonne Dawson also writes for TravelNewz, check out the site for interesting and fun news stories .

Many famous people and international stars have summer homes on this beautiful hilly island, one of the Cyclades, situated in the beautiful Aegean Sea. After all, if it was good enough for Shirley Valentine....

Mykonos Town is one of the main resorts on the island and people booking cheap holidays to Mykonos often find themselves here. Its beauty is perhaps only surpassed by its friendly atmosphere and frantic party nightlife. Wonderful whitewashed houses with vibrant blue shutters and precariously placed balconies line the maze of narrow cobbled streets. Colourful herbs, bougainvillea and geraniums cling to every wall as each way you turn is a profusion of sweet smells and vibrant colour. The waters edge is known as 'Little Venice' where the balconies on Venetian houses protrude out over the sea. Enjoy a romantic evening meal here as you watch the sunset over the sparkling blue Aegean waters. Petros the Pelican, the islands mascot may even join you for your evening meal.

The Kato Myli windmills lie just outside of town and are an extremely popular tourist attraction, especially as the sun sets behind them. **End Summary** Topics: cheap holidays to Mykonos Mykonos holidays Mykonos town
About the Author:
Yvonne Dawson also writes for TravelNewz, check out the site for interesting and fun news stories .

In the morning the first think you think is mortgage, bills, MOT when you wake up. If you're lucky enough to have a job it's a never ending cycle of work and paying bills. The little money you have left each month could give you a nervous breakdown!

It doesn't help, of course, this wintry weather. You have to spend an hour scraping ice from your car before you can start your day of worries! What joy!
A little positivity wouldn't go amiss. I like to try. Hard, I know in this climate. I hear current economic climate 5 times every day but when I was at school it meant something else. Sunny, warm, yes it's coming back now. Spending time on the beach with your family, that's what climate used to mean.

Stop spreading this negativity around, start thinking sunshine. A break? Everyone deserves one even though money's tight. Haven't had holidays for a while? It'll be hard to remember what sunshine actually is. The quality time spent with family and friends, it's that warm glow you feel. **End Summary** Topics: cheap holidays to Corfu cheap corfu holidays Corfu
About the Author:
Yvonne Dawson also writes for TravelNewz, check out the site for interesting and fun news stories .
