While Americans and Canadians thinking of retiring in Mexico may be surprised by the widespread mistrust of tap water throughout Mexico, a recent report has indicated that the water situation is not as bad as many think, and the supply of clean, reliably purified water is available for retirees living in Mexico's key retirement destinations such as Ixtapa on the Pacific Coast, is excellent. When buyers acquire their Ixtapa real estate, they notice the up to date infrastructure and well designed community, and perhaps wonder why it is that residents don't have potable tap water. Current indications show that tourism has been strong in the Ixtapa Real Estate area. The end of the summer tourism season showed strong numbers. Numerous visitors to the Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo area prefer to rent condos for their visits; this situation points to opportunities for Mexico Condo buyers who either will use their condo only part of the year, or who wish to purchase a condo only for investment. While Ixtapa Real Estate already offers excellent airline access to most major American airports, with easy connections to many other locations, recently a milestone was reached when the first direct flight was made from Canada to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo. This is excellent news for Canadians thinking of Retiring in Mexico, or just finding a home away from home in an top-quality beachfront resort destination. The first direct flight from Canada came from Calgary, offered by the Canadian airline, Westjet. This first flight was given a special "grand-opening" type speech from the president of Westjet, Tyson Matheson. In an interview Matheson outlined a number of the benefits of Ixtapa Real Estate and tourism, which led the company to offer its customers a direct flight to this retirement and beachfront lifestyle destination. The program focussed on keeping Mexicoâ€™s beaches clean was discussed by health authorities from several states of Mexico in a meeting in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo. Tim is the owner of TICAR Real Estate company in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo Guerrero. This beautiful oceanfront city sits on the Pacific Ocean, north of Acapulco and south of Puerto Vallarta. Tim arrived to Mexico back in 1987 and has been here ever since.
