Build Your Own Case Mods

The creativity grew as users began to add plexiglass in the side panels so they could create a view inside the computer case. It was popular to install cold cathodes in different colors as lighting inside. As time went by, the creativity and imagination of case modders grew quickly as they found other ways to give their cases a more personalized impression.

The most simple but cool mod is replacing the dim LED's with very bright LED's.
The bright blue ones are often the choice among case modders.
Other mods could be painting the case, adding a plexiglass side panel or custom fan grills. A more difficult mod would be taking off the metal cover from a harddisc and replacing it with plexiglass. This way one could monitor the harrdisc while its operating. All of this led to another level of customized cases, such as modded household objects and homemade wooden cases all with a computer inside . The creativity had no limits and it was easy to find guides on how to do different mods. A growing community on the internet all shared their ideas and case mods. **End Summary** Topics: computers cases casemods case mods hardware
About the Author:
Article written by Koral Wilkins.
Modding your Computer Case for an Artistic Look

Case modding is a process of modifying a computer case. PC cases don't need to be seen as beige, pale looking boxes which are well hidden under the desk. The first case mods started with people that overclocked their computers, as this would create additional heat and a way to cool the hardware was to cut holes in the case and install fans on the side panels. The creativity grew as users began to add plexiglass in the side panels to capture a view from inside of the case. It became popular to install cold cathodes in different colors as lighting from inside the case.

The imagination and creativity of case modding grew dramatically as users found other ways to give their cases a personalized impression. People began painting their cases, replacing the LED's with very bright LED's, the bright blue ones are often the choice among case modders even today. This also led to customized cases, like modded household objects with computers inside and plexiglass cases. The creativity had no limits and it was easy to find guides on how to create different mods. This growing community on the net all shared their ideas and modifications. **End Summary** Topics: computers cases casemods case mods
About the Author:
Article by Koral.
The Available Options of Motorizing a Satellite Dish

Satellites are a popular source to tune into analogue, digital and High Definition TV. There are multiple choices of viewing cards & subscriptions for different types of viewing packages all around the world, you maybe have one as well and catching channels this way. The thing is that if you tried rotating the dish, it would be able to get channels from other satellite positions. The horizon is full of satellites and free channels that most likely does not require a big dish. The main satellites in Europe are Astra 19E and Hotbird 13E which sends out a large amount of FTA channels in multiple languages, like French, Spanish and Russian. There are different motors to choose from, such as DiSEqC, 36v H to H and actuators. DiSEqC motors are the most installed and they work fine for antennas up to 110 cm. With this kind of motor it uses your satellite receivers power which runs on 12v/17v. Receivers have limited power for the motor as it has to share it with the LNB. This makes them slow and not so strong as compared to H to H motors. **End Summary** Topics: Satellite tv technology satellite tv
About the Author:
Article by Koral.
Satellite receivers for many of us is our source to watch digital TV. There are multiple choices of subscriptions for TV packages all across the globe, you probably have one too and getting channels this way. The truth is that if you tried to turn your dish, it might be able to get channels from different satellite positions. As we know, the sky is full of satellites and Free to Air that most likely does not require a huge dish. The most popular satellites in Europe are Hotbird and Astra which sends out a large amount of FTA channels in multiple languages, such as French, German and Russian. There are a range of motors to choose from, like DiSEqC, 36v Horizon to Horizon and actuators. DiSEqC motors are the most talked about and these work fine for satellites up to 1 meter.
How to Find Free Pinball Games

Pinball machines as we know them have been available for a while now, most might remember them at the Arcades and grill bars where one could spend hours with mates and attempt to beat the highscore. The first tables, jumping back to 1850 where not coin operated or electricity powered, they didn't have any flippers like we recognize them these days. When the introduction of electromechanical bells, chimes, lights and buzzers in the late 1930's, the interest of pinball grew quickly. Humpty Dumpty from 1947 was the first table to have the so called flippers, this is known as the golden age of pinball. From then on tables later expanded with features like ramps, multi balls, matrix dot displays and digital sound effects. The older tables where mostly quite hard but for 1 game you got 5 balls, where as newer tables you only get 3 balls per game. The pinball's are not as available today as the golden era. Stern are the only company still producing tables and it seems like a rare sight to see a machine. However it is possible to play these tables on a computer, even the older tables from 1930's. **End Summary** Topics: Games Computer Games Pinball Pinball Games Visual Pinball Gaming Computers Emulation
About the Author:
Article by Koral Wilkins.
Classic Arcade Games Emulation with MAME

The main attraction at the Arcades has been the Arcade games. I'm sure a lot of you have heard of classics like Space Invaders, Gunsmoke and Super Sprint. Unfortunately these games and Arcade cabinets have vanished these days. PC's are so powerful with its CPU, graphics and online gaming capability as well as consoles that Arcade gaming is becoming retro. But for many of us the old Arcades are with us. MAME is an emulator where one can play the classic games. Right now there are more than 2000 games that are fully playable. The emulation is near perfect as the roms are downloaded from the real arcade memory. The MAME emulator is not only available for PC but also the consoles, such as the XBOX.

There is a large interest and community that appreciates the option to play their favorite Arcade games, remembering the old days. Still many will agree its not the same excitement with a keyboard or joy pad. However with a MAME Cabinet it can be close enough. A MAME Cabinet is like a real Arcade. You have the main components like Arcade controls, arcade monitors and coin doors. **End Summary** Topics: Arcade Computer Games Emulation MAME Gaming Computers
About the Author:
Article by Koral Wilkins.
The Advantages of a Motorized Satellite System

Satellite systems have become a popular way to receive TV. There are subscriptions and viewing cards for a large range of different packages all around the globe, you probably have one too and are getting the channels with a dish. Most likely you have a small dish but that's often all that's required to watch the channels from your country because the footprint is centered around its targeted country. The interesting thing is that if you tried to turn the dish you would be able to get channels from another satellite, like from a different country. The horizon is full of satellites and free channels which very possibly don't require a big dish. The most viewed satellites in Europe are 13E and 19E which carries a large amount of FTA channels in different languages, like Spanish, French and Arabic. It perhaps does not sound interesting to watch the foreign channels. But now lets say you would die to watch a sports event that is not broadcasted on the viewing package you have but the match is on a FTA channel on another satellite, wouldn't it be great to watch it? Believe me there are a lot of channels out there. **End Summary** Topics: Satellite tv technology
About the Author:
Article written by Koral Wilkins.
