Learn How You Can Have Free Electricity

If you want to reduce your electricity bill without reducing your energy consumption, you need to find alternative ways of producing electricity. That is not too difficult a task if you know what to do. All it takes is a few hours a day and you can make yourself a generator that produces free electricity. Most people accomplish this within one or two weekends.

There are basically 2 types of generators you can make - a solar generator and a wind generator.

A solar generator comprises of solar cells connected in series and glued onto the base of a shallow wooden box that acts as the solar panel box. First, you need to buy 36 solar cells from eBay or someplace like that. They are much cheaper than new industrial solar cells because those in eBay are usually factory seconds but they still work fine. Next, make your shallow box (or have the carpenter do it) according to dimensions that can fit the cells connected together in series in a 6x6, 4x9 or even 3x12 matrix. Paint your box with weather proof paint. **End Summary** Topics: renewable energy resources
About the Author:
I'm an Environmentalist and nature lover

Domestic Wind Power and Alternative Home Energy Solutions

Many people are now trying to get on top of volatile energy prices by generating their own electricity. By doing so, they not only save money but are also safeguarded against power outages and dependence on the traditional grid system supply of electricity. Just how much money can be saved generating your own power? Many people have reported savings of up to 80% on their electricity bills each month. If you want to save more, just construct more wind generators.

Some also switch to non-traditional means of electricity supply to bring about a cleaner environment. Generating power through renewable energy sources like the sun and the wind is cleaner and cannot be depleted unlike generating electricity from fossil fuels like coal, oil and gas.

But so far, the cost of generating electricity through solar and wind power has been too high for the average consumer. A basic installation of a solar panel or wind generator can set you back by about $10,000.

However, these days there has been an increase in many DIY guides on how to build solar and wind generators that have hit the market. **End Summary** Topics: renewable energy resources alternative home energy solutions
About the Author:
I'm an Environmentalist and nature lover

DIY Solar Panels and Renewable Energy Solar Power

Did you know that you can easily make your own solar panels? It needs no specialized equipment or skills. All you need to have are some basic woodworking and soldering abilities. Even if you have never done these things before, you can quite easily learn them. That was my experience. I had never soldered anything together in my life and the only woodworking I have done was sawing some wood apart. So if a DIY idiot like me can do it, so can you.

Here is my own experience in constructing a solar panel.

First I bought a set of 36 mono-crystalline solar cells from eBay. These are either blemished or chipped cells that cannot be sold commercially and therefore, they are much cheaper. Usually, you can get them for under $200. There are 2 types available - tabbed or untabbed solar cells. If possible, buy the tabbed ones; they will save you a lot of work. Tabbed solar cells are those with tab wires already attached to the front, along the 2 white strips (called busbars) down the cells. Untabbed ones are those without tab wires attached so you will have to solder them yourself. **End Summary** Topics: renewable energy resources alternative home energy solutions
About the Author:
I'm an Environmentalist and nature lover

Alternative Energy Home Solutions

2008 was a tumultuous year for everyone primarily due to the volatile price of one commodity – oil. The world is so heavily dependent on this one commodity that any prolonged volatility of its price has a staggering spin-off effect on just about everything else. Who could forget when the price of oil hit an all-time high of $147 per barrel sending shock waves to every other market? And speculation that it would likely hit $200 per barrel only served to exacerbate the situation.

As if the effect of the roller coaster price of oil was not enough, the world had to contend with the US sub-prime mortgage crisis. It is said that when the US sneezes, the rest of the world catches a cold. How true. Just like how oil is the predominant fuel of the world, the US economy is the most influential economy in the world and the US dollar is the most highly accepted currency in the world. Therefore, when the US suffers, the rest of the world suffers along with it. **End Summary** Topics: renewable energy resources alternative home energy solutions
About the Author:
I'm an Environmentalist and nature lover

How to Build a Free Energy Generator

The interest in alternative energy sources is gaining momentum. With the depletion of non-renewable energy sources like oil and gas, it is becoming more imperative for us to find other sources of energy, preferably renewable ones. The 2 most practical renewable sources of energy are the sun and the wind. The good news is that these days we have the technology to generate power from both these renewable energy sources. In fact, you can generate your own free electricity from solar and wind power. Renewable Energy Solar Power

Here's how I made mine.

My solar panel comprised of 36 solar cells that I bought from eBay for less than 200 bucks. I learned that I needed to connect them in series, meaning that the front side of one cell is connected to the back side of the next. Each solar cell comes with 2 tab wires (very conductible flat wires) that are used to connect the cells. I soldered each cell to the next and made a set of 6x6 cells. Then I glued it onto a base which I fitted into a shallow plywood box that I made earlier. **End Summary** Topics: renewable energy solar power alternative home energy soluti
About the Author:
I'm an Environmentalist and nature lover
