The rare combination of beauty with brains, the gorgeous designer has taken Indian fashion to a different label. Her foray into French fashion has won many accolades has added yet another first to her credentials by becoming the first Indian designer to be invited to participate at the much awaited fashion soiree, The Debutant Ball held annually at Paris. Find the designer herself in conversation with Stylekandy.com, Even when not showing elsewhere, why did you show at the Gitanjali Luxury Style fest in Dec 08 in Mumbai, almost a year before WIFW. Yeah…I did it, I felt that I should go ahead with it and hence just did it. No strategies involved the day and time suited me and so did it. Your show at WIFW was like a comeback show for you, what preparations did you have to make it grand. I will never call my show at WIFW as my comeback show because I never disappeared from the Indian fashion industry. I have no clues why everyone is naming it as my comeback show? **End Summary** Topics: Fashion Tips Beauty Tips Hair Color Tips
About the Author:
For more information Beauty Tips and beauty related product, Hair Color Tips for Hair Color Tips and fashion deals online you can visit stylekandy.com

International Fashion Industry

One of the cities which have remained untapped by the fashion industry is Chennai. Come December, the city is going to witness the largest fashion week of the country, or so they claim! Chennai International Fashion Week (CIFW) will see the participation of more than 10 international designers from 12 countries across the globe along with a hoard of our talented Indian designers. With the vision of providing an international platform to the Indian designers to showcase and market their collections to the global fashion world, the gala event is scheduled for December 14-20, 2009 at the luxurious Le Royal Meridian in Chennai. It is also aimed at showcasing India as an important fashion destination for foreign buyers and designers’ who want to make it big in the South-east Asian markets.

So why Chennai as the venue? Gaurav Sharma, the head of Storm Fashion Company, the organizers and the producers of the event said on a lighter note, “The city has been always known for its hot weather so we thought of making it haute! The first edition has been strategically placed in Chennai for its proximity to Tirupur; one of the largest garment export hubs in India. **End Summary** Topics: Fashion Tips Beauty Tips Hair Color Tips Celebrity Hairst
About the Author:
For more information Fashion Jewelry Collection and beauty related product, Hair Color Tips for Hair Color Tips and fashion deals online you can visit stylekandy.com

Gayatri Khanna opened the 3 designer show, with a line of clothes in floral prints and stuck to the prints for most of the collection. Gayatri is known for her elegant dressy signature look, made an effort to break her evening, cocktail dresses image but the effort was quite visible. For the Spring-Summer 2010, the designer has used flowy fabrics mainly satin, georgettes, silk satin, linen, crepe silk and taffeta silk crafted into body flattering silhouettes. The collection had a range of jumpsuits, draped bustier tops, and mini-skirts. Few pieces of one shouldered dress with draped silhouette featured multi-string detailing and hand painted embellishments. The black and white one shouldered tunic with bubble hem and embroidered flowers was well applauded. This was followed by a line up of tunic dresses with cord work embroidery by the young designer Tanvi Kedia. With a girlie feel to the collection, the designs mostly saw pleated long dresses, kaft an gowns and long skirts. The designer has nicely experimented with the Indian handcraft and traditional craftsmanship. Some of the clothes had well knitted and intricate colourful sequenced embroidery work as the neckline.

Abhishek Dutta presented his new collection – Tomorrow land. **End Summary** Topics: Fashion Week Lakme Fashion Week Runway Reviews Fashion Sh
About the Author:
For more information Celebrity Fashion and beauty related product, fashion tips for Fashion Designers and fashion deals online you can visit stylekandy.com

Fashion Preview Collection

It's all about going back to constructed compositions. Each garment in this collection has an intrinsic importance of decomposed value, the designer begins to explain. The collection is an assembly of eveningwear and daywear along with some pieces of bikinis which will offer a perfect line for the fresh summer season. It emphasizes more on colours and less of embellishments. With minimum embellishments we have tried to splash a plethora of colours on an array of joyful fabrics like linen, muslin, paper silk, satin georgette, gossamer cotton jersey andviscose jersey. Embellishments take their cue from the luscious classicism of Mackintosh-inspired botanical gardens in a rose-shaped cornice of hand-cut petals that move stealthily onto hems and necklines. The predominant shades include hues abstracted from accents of fennel, mustard, nutmeg, cayenne, sesame, cumin, rhododendron andanise.

My latest collection targets the Indian market as well caters to somebody who is nomadic and loves to experiment with their look, she added. Classical styles are revisited with be spoke finishes. Fitted and rounded silhouettes with reduced volumes. More structured styles with lowered hemlines, reinvented with folds, pleats and ornamental details make this collection more elegant. **End Summary** Topics: Fashion Week Lakme Fashion Week Runway Reviews Fashion Sho
About the Author:
For more information for Fashion Designers and beauty related product, fashion tips for Lakme Fashion Week and fashion deals online you can visit stylekandy.com

HDIL India Couture Week

After a spirit dampening first day cancellation entered its second year with a grand opening yesterday in Mumbai. There were no signs of disappointment as all seemed to have forgotten the last minute Abu-Sandeep back out and looked in high spirits to watch the upcoming shows. Swarovski seemed to have created a luxurious ambiance in the entire arena, drawing inspirations from the 'Lotus'. However, the granddame one would expect at an 'Haute Couture' show was felt wanting! The first show of the week was a Jewellery showcasing by four prominent jewellery designers. Once again, the Main Show Area was nothing out of the box. We did like the crystallised rectangular arch, but the chandeliers with cloth cover and tassels were pretty unimaginative, especially having seen them recently at Tarun Tahiliani's show at LFW. Changing the lights after each of the four showcasing kept giving a new look to the white and lilac set. We were still trying to figure out the point of hanging a fan right at the entry point on the ramp, which was in turn, covered with a layer of velvet cloth that made sashaying quite perilous for the models. **End Summary** Topics: Fashion Week Lakme Fashion Week Runway Reviews Fashion Sho
About the Author:
For more information for Fashion Designers and beauty related product, fashion tips for Lakme Fashion Week and fashion deals online you can visit stylekandy.com

He has been designing costumes for renowned film directors Rakha Dutta, Putool Mohamad and Rajnish Kashyap since then till Elan happened. For them this is the first time they have been to Bangalore and the complex southern market. In search of expanding their customer database they are still awaiting positive conversions from causal buyer queries post the show. They used constructive patterns, pleats, embroidery as medium on fabrics like georgette, chiffon and talosilk. Next in line were Delhi based duo Pankaj and Ajit presented a slick line inspired by tribal art. Beads, embroidery and patchwork was what stood out in their creations. **End Summary** Topics: Fashion Week Lakme Fashion Week Runway Reviews
About the Author:
For more information for Men's Fashion Week and beauty related product, fashion tips for Lakme Fashion Week and fashion deals online you can visit stylekandy.com

Narrate the changes you have witnessed in global fashion since you started I started when all fashion came from Paris. In 1958 that was 50 years ago last year, I covered Yves Saint Laurent’s first collection after the death of Christian Dior. During the '60s, I eye-witnessed the you thquake/mini/moon maidens. It was the first time mothers and daughters dressed differently. It was the direct result of the pill, drugs, the Age of Aquarius and man's landing on the moon. Compare the Indian fashion scenario with the international fashion Because I have not covered lakme Fashion Week or spent any time in India until now, I do not feel qualified to answer, other than to say that India is now a player on the international fashion scene—thanks in large part, I believe, to the fact that international buyers and press now attend Lakme Fashion Week. Strengths and weaknesses of the Indian fashion.

Fraternity Strengths: Bollywood has obviously been an influence on fashion in India, giving the industry an international exposure it did not have before. India has a reputation for being the place to go for beading, embroideries, etc. **End Summary** Topics: Fashion Portal Fashion Week Fashion Show Models Photos
About the Author:
For more information for Fashion Portal and beauty related product, fashion tips for Fashion Designers and fashion deals online you can visit stylekandy.com

The festive seasons is just picking up in India. Wasting no time designer duo Shyamal and Bhumika, unveiled their festive collection at 'Chamomile' Bandra on 29th of July. The designs seem to be inspired from Indian crafts and hand embroideries. Silhouettes give a true feel of free flowing Ghaghras, including 'Ghumerdaar' and 'Kalidaar' Lahengas. Vibrant sarees, patch work dresses, cholees and dupattas with elaborate tassels are truly ethnic in nature. Zari, Ari and Gota embroideries are well combined with contemporary Khadi prints. Antique gold, copper and multi coloured rabari embroidery give the luxurious essence to the designs. Traditional motifs used here are intricate presenting a good example of ornamental clothing. Shyamal says, "The line is inspired from the villages of Gujrat and Rajasthan. There is a mix and match of colours and hand work which people wear in those areas." "The wedding attire is fabulous. Despite the embroideries and embellishments in the Lehenga, it's not heavy or uncomfortable, yet retains the royal feel needed by a bride." Bollywood actor Rashmi Nigam commented at the occasion.

With festive clothes Chamomile also had collection of bags on the racks designed by Meera Mahadevia. **End Summary** Topics: Fashion Portal Fashion Week Fashion Show Models Photos
About the Author:
For more information for Fashion Portal and beauty related product, fashion tips for Fashion Designers and fashion deals online you can visit stylekandy.com

Eyeing That Fashion Trendy & Comfortable

"This is the first time I am doing something in eye wear because I think people don't have that much of option as far as eye wear's concerned. Eye wear today is being used as a personal style statement. People are looking at frames that are trendy and comfortable, that fit their overall lifestyle", said Kunal. The designer eye wear offers a wide range of stylish frames with the latest international fashion trends. Each stylish frame has single pieces with unfinished looks like for ex vintage, biker, second hand etc. The highpoint of the collection is the mixture of elements accompanied with amazing usage of colours like the rim is in gold and plastic in dull brown or silver. With its hint of colours, unique detailing and comfort quotient, Kunal embodies the spirit of today’s casual corporate style. Available in 30 styles, Kunal emphasizes on the fact that it's not easy to find the shapes he desired, mostly inspired from the era of 60s, 70s and 80s. "The world of eye wear is all about interesting shapes, unique lines and conversation-piece style frames. Eyeglasses are all about exaggerated rectangles, pointy edges, big frames, aviators, different shades, many more”, he summarized. **End Summary** Topics: Fashion Week Fashion Show Models Photos Runway Reviews
About the Author:
For more information for Fashion Designers and beauty related product, fashion tips for Celebrity Fashion and fashion deals online you can visit stylekandy.com
