Have you achieved your financial plans at this point? Do you even realize what your financial goals are? A huge element of successful financial planning actually begins with where you are to begin with. Think about it, if you had to get to Orlando and you wanted to use MapQuest what's the very first thing you'd have to enter? That's right, you'd need to enter exactly where you currently are. A great number of people stumble at this point in life. They start at the finish line. It sounds so straightforward, but to be successful financially will start with determining your financial goals.

Here are 3 effective tips on budgeting to help establish your financial goals:

Why did I buy this? If you find yourself reading yet another financial guide or going through a video tutorial series, stop and ask yourself the key reason why you paid for the program in the first place. Do you expect to increase your earnings? Do you have certain debts you'd want to clear away? Do you only wish to be able to make an emergency account? The solution to this may come as a surprise to you. Determine your goals. **End Summary** Topics: create personal budget personal budget planning tips on budgeting web page finance
About the Author:
You can pay off your debts and save money at the same time!

Budgets do not work. Have you by chance discovered your self, or anyone else declaring that in the past? I think that budgets completely work. The concern is that most people do not work at sticking with tips on budgeting and they need personal finance help. The theory of a budget is extremely simple, and to state that it doesn't work is simply utterly absurd. There's one technique that can easily assist you. In fact, this 1 secret is that key reason why budgets do not work for the majority of people. Read on.

What is the model of a budget? Well this is exactly what I state: A budget is the strategy of handling your funds if you want to spend equal to, or less than what you make. Needless to say if you achieve this then you can't go into debt. Easy right? I think so. Then why is it so challenging for many people to make a budget work? Let me tell you the number 1 secret that makes a budget work: You should associate considerable satisfaction with taking the measures needed to balance a budget.

This is identified as neuro-associations. **End Summary** Topics: create personal budget personal budget planning tips on budgeting web page finance
About the Author:
You can pay off your debts and save money at the same time!
Tips On Budgeting - A Dollar Saved Is 2 Dollars Earned

Have you ever heard the expression that a dollar saved is two dollars earned? Do you know exactly what it truly means? It all comes down to personal finance basics and becoming familiar with tips on budgeting. Part of getting to be successful financially is understanding how to become proficient with precisely how you earn and spend money. Let us take a deeper look as to how a dollar saved is two dollars earned:

If you were to make $75, 000 per annum in Ontario, Canada, here's where your next earned dollar would go.

Marginal tax rate35.39%

CPP/EI premiums 4.95%

Pension contributions 6.00%

Union dues 1.28%

Total 47.62%

So that should mean if you were to make $1.00, even more than 47 cents would go towards expenses. To be able to save one entire dollar you'd need to be paid $1.91. That is fairly close to two dollars earned.

I realize that not anyone will have pension contributions or union dues but I had to give an illustration that was very close to my particular situation. **End Summary** Topics: create personal budget personal budget planning tips on budgeting web page finance
About the Author:
You can pay off your debts and save money at the same time!
Investing Basics - Tips On Budgeting

There are many various choices of the direction to go with your money. Would you accept low risk accounts or try to make a fortune on the monetary tightrope of risky investing. The next matter you really need to look at is the place to put it. The methods are but not restricted to the stock market, bonds, savings/checking accounts or under your mattress. Why don't we go through investing essentials and other different tips on budgeting.

STOCKS:

The stock exchange has in the past outperformed each and every other type of investment. From 1926 to 2008 the typical annual gain hovers around 9.5%. The one thing to take into account is that stocks are generally considered a long term investment, thus the high rate of return. In 1987, stocks had a fall of nearly 25% in one day, the worst one day total in more than 50 years. Sure enough, as stocks do, they rebounded and thrived for over a 10 years. If you've got a schedule that justifies securing your money away, the stock market is a sensible option. **End Summary** Topics: create personal budget personal budget planning tips on budgeting web page finance
About the Author:
You can pay off your debts and save money at the same time!
Grocery Saving Tips - Tips On Budgeting

How would you like to save $50 on a monthly basis on groceries? Take a look at these three tips on budgeting to help you get started. I know for sure you will be able to find more online, and we'll possibly do extra posts on it later on. Until then, as you are starting out with a few personal finance basics start off with these 3 tips.

Keep a Rigid Grocery Budget With a Strict List:

Do you know exactly just how much cash you shell out on food every month? Many people would not. That's why the personal finance basics lesson my clients receive first is on spending budget. Look on google for a spending budget or look at our resource link for a in depth budget spreadsheet. When you understand how much cash you've allocated toward groceries, you will certainly think twice about those HoHos. As an example, if you have budgeted for $100, and essentials come to $99, you have a choice. Check out, or shell out $20 or more on non-essentials and take away from some other necessary pieces of the budget. **End Summary** Topics: create personal budget personal budget planning tips on budgeting web page finance
About the Author:
You can pay off your debts and save money at the same time!
How do you gauge if you happen to be on the right track in financial terms? Are there methods you employ? Or do you just take a look at whether or not you're making more than previous years? Personal finance basics might imply that simply earning more isn't an accurate measure of financial progress. There are essentially two numbers that you have to know at all times in order to track your financial development. They're not just important to know, but also imperative for financial success.

The two numbers you will need to know to become financially successful are:

Your cash flow - Are you spending more than you make?

Your net worth - Are you going in the right direction?

Lets us take a look at these two in a bit more detail.

Your cash flow: The difference between how much you get and how much you keep is recognized as cash flow. In a literal sense, it's the flow of cash. They say cash is king, but I'd say that cash flow is really king. You see it's not what amount you make, alternatively its the amount you keep. Try to remember, broke is broke. **End Summary** Topics: create personal budget personal budget planning tips on budgeting web page finance
About the Author:
You can pay off your debts and save money at the same time!
Mortgage Basics - How To Manage Money

What does the term 'mortgage' really mean?

The word 'mortgage' actually derives from two different languages. The French 'mort' means to 'dead' and 'gage' comes from Old English and means 'pledge'. So in short, the word 'mortgage' essentially translates to a 'pledge until death'. Daunting huh? The last I checked, there are not a lot of things I want to be entirely to permanently aside from my wife, and that's mostly because I know she's reading through this. Love you honey!

All jokes aside... A mortgage really is one thing that you committed to for a very long time. It generally takes some real gusto to figure out how to manage properly to make it work. Various banking institutions are presently featuring forty year terms. Can you think about how tough it would be to still make month-to-month payments of $1,000 when you are approaching 70? I know that thought would frighten me to death.

Unlike most other types of loans, your mortgage is often negotiated a number of times before its paid. Some people choose to make larger contributions each and every month to pay it off quicker. Other folks just pay the minimum amount. **End Summary** Topics: create personal budget personal budget planning tips on budgeting web page finance
About the Author:
You can pay off your debts and save money at the same time!
How To Manage Money - The Mind/money Equation

Do you trust the connection between the mind and money? If you are still in debt there is a cause for that. Part of finding out how to manage money is also figuring out how your mind has a important role in the financial outcomes you are currently achieving. If you stick to this one particular equation, you will be well on your way to training your brain for financial success.

When we think about cash we rarely think about the way the mind plays a role in our financial achievements. There is an equation for how results are reached in general. Not just for money, but for any sought after result. Here it is: (I go into greater detail in our brand-new video product found via the link below)

(D) - P - T - B - A = Results

Each letter stands for the following:

Desire
P Programming
T Thoughts
B Beliefs
A Actions

So, your desires lead to your mental programming that leads to your thoughts which then creates the belief which dictates the actions you take which will inevitably lead to your results. **End Summary** Topics: create personal budget personal budget planning tips on budgeting web page finance
About the Author:
You can pay off your debts and save money at the same time!

More often than not it's the tiny adjustments over time that produce the greatest difference. Think about it. If you desired to loose excess weight it doesn't just take place over night. You will need to make modest improvements in your regular diet and lifestyle, and then in time those changes will end up in overall weight loss. How to manage money is the exact same. It is actually the modest changes in money habits compounded with time that will make the greatest difference. If I said a single change each month for a year would get you out of debt, would you trust me? Let us start looking at some tips on budgeting a little closer:

Ask, could you save $10 per month each month for a year? It wouldn't be that hard. All you would have to do is take one cost every month and aim on how you might possibly lower it by $10. For example: if you gave your cable tv company a call and removed some of the options you never use. **End Summary** Topics: create personal budget personal budget planning tips on budgeting web page finance
About the Author:
You can pay off your debts and save money at the same time!

For most of my life while I was becoming an adult I heard four key words repeated numerous times: "I have no money!" My mother was a single mother taking care of three rambunctious young children. As you can expect cash was always tight and any amount of debt wouldn't help the problem. There were a lot of things I wished for and thought I should have but my moms issues with debt usually made my desires an unlikely dream. Because I was merely a kid, I could not fully grasp why she failed to give me everything or why the birthday gifts were handmade or why we would now and again 'skip' lunchtime. Needless to say right now I understand what she went through. Sadly her scenario is not an unheard of one.The majority of people could use some tips on budgeting.

Because of the help from a number of great friends and lots of work from myself I have started to train myself on how to manage money. I have also done my best to teach my mother all the things I know and she too is grasping and her debt is slowly dissolving. **End Summary** Topics: create personal budget personal budget planning tips on budgeting web page finance
About the Author:
You can pay off your debts and save money at the same time!
Picking The Right Bank - Create Personal Budget

Clearly there's no simple way to determine what bank is ideal. Several have several rewards like low mortgage rates and high interest rates and low user fees. In many cases if one bank has a positive aspect that you might find amazing they will have another part that might be less desirable. What exactly is the best bank for you when you're understanding how to manage money? Let's go through these tips on budgeting and picking a bank.

PRODUCTS AND SERVICES:

The very first thing you should look into is what you really want from a bank. Are you searching for a high rate savings account or a lower interest rate on a mortgage loan? These are many of the foremost questions you will need to ask yourself well before you proceed ahead. A financial institution needs to provide you with what is perfect for you to obtain your business.

LOCATION, LOCATION:

You have various schedules and agendas. Some people's main priority when choosing on a bank might possibly be one that they would stroll to from their doorstep in five minutes. Other people would prefer a place which is just a bit of a detour from their commute home. **End Summary** Topics: create personal budget personal budget planning tips on budgeting web page finance
About the Author:
You can pay off your debts and save money at the same time!

Are a person who is constantly asking yourself 'how should I save my money?' I don't think you happen to be alone. The vast majority of men and women in North America are frequently asking themselves the exact same question. It isn't always easy when you have so much to worry about on a daily basis. Sometimes cash things are ignored. There are a few fairly hassle-free tips on budgeting that I have identified to manage my money that I am going to talk about with you.

Give up Your Vices:

You're loved ones have probably been nagging you with regards to this for a long time but if you smoke cigarettes or have some kind of other high-priced vice it might be time to think of kicking the habit. Not only are nearly all vices horrible for you but they all cost lots of money. By quitting using tobacco or restricting yourself to only a couple of drinks each week you certainly will save thousands of dollars every year. If you would prefer a reward system instead of actually investing that cash use it to treat your self to pleasure trip or a new toy. **End Summary** Topics: create personal budget personal budget planning tips on budgeting web page finance
About the Author:
You can pay off your debts and save money at the same time!

In a previous blog post I outlined that there are a number of secrets and techniques that credit card providers don't want you to know. There are plenty of possibilities out there for you to choose from and numerous ways that you can steer clear of user fees and fork out little to no interest on purchases. You as the customer have the option to let your credit card perform well for you. Here are a few additional thrilling credit card tricks that will give you a great deal of tips on budgeting.

Two-cycle Billing

This is one other technique that credit card companies will try to get more money from you and lots of people never even understand that two-cycle billing exists. In short, companies will calculate an interest charge that is 2 months of interest if you were unable to pay off the balance in full. It feels like a terrible trick but you're borrowing their cash after all. This dilemma only happens if you change from paying out on time all of the time to holding a monthly balance. **End Summary** Topics: create personal budget personal budget planning tips on budgeting web page finance
About the Author:
You can pay off your debts and save money at the same time!

There are plenty of secrets that credit card companies do not want you to know. There are ways that you can avoid user fees and pay little to no interest on what you buy. You are the customer and each credit card company wants your business. Make them work for your business. Here's a few excellent credit card secrets that will offer you fantastic personal finance help.

1. Interest Backdating

Unfortunately many credit card companies charge you as much as 18% interest from the moment you make a purchase. Suddenly the cheeseburger you bought on the first day of the month for four bucks has suddenly cost you $4.72 or 18% more. The more purchases you make with that credit card the more everything will end up costing.

Other credit card issuers only charge interest to people who have an outstanding balance with their account. This is a better option for those who use their credit card a great deal but if you are the type of person who carries a balance every month you may quickly find that you are falling into debt. **End Summary** Topics: Budgeting tips Financial planning tips Free financial advice Money saving advice Personal financial planning
About the Author:
You can pay off your debts and save money at the same time!

I am a financial consultant and I have coached many people as to why emergency funds are critical. You can get some information by searching the Internet, or look at our resource links for free budget spreadsheets and some useful financial calculators. In an earlier post you learned important personal finance basics with regards to starting an emergency fund like budgeting, goal setting and automation. In this post I will discuss 3 quick tips to help you pick where to start your emergency fund.

Convenience - If you are like lots of people, you want to make saving into an emergency fund as seamless and easy as possible. Coaching personal finance basics has also shown me that if it's not easy, chances are it won't get accomplished. You likely have a checking account. If so, you likely have a savings account attached, if not you could open one online or at your branch. I recommend using this account to save your emergency funds. You may not get the best interest rates, but it's an a simple account you already have, or can create one in a snap. **End Summary** Topics: how to manage money how to manage money tips manage my money personal finance basics personal finance help
About the Author:
You can pay off your debts and save money at the same time!

If you are like me, you hate filling up at the pump. Especially when, for no good reason, it goes up 5-10 cents over night. Most of my clients seeking personal finance help are looking for tips on saving money in certain areas. I'm going to focus on how to manage money as it relates your gas usage. As a side note, It is vitally important that you have a good quality budget set up so that you have a pre-determined spending goal on gas. You could search google all sorts of budget tools, or check our resource link to find a comprehensive budget spreadsheet. Here are three very useful tips.

Drive Sensibly - My grandma's Lincoln Town Car has a mileage gage. It's incredible the difference in mileage if I am accelerating aggressively (imaging it isn't a town car, but I pretend it's a sports car) versus taking it easy. Studies indicate that fast accelerating, speeding and abrupt braking lowers your fuel economy by 33% on the freeway and 5% city driving. So, take a lesson from my grandma if you want to learn how to manage money better, drive safe and slow. Less accidents, less gas. **End Summary** Topics: Free personal finance Personal budgets Personal finance tips Saving money tips Tips for saving money
About the Author:
You can pay off your debts and save money at the same time!

Everyone knows having children is one of the most amazing, scary, fun and challenging things any person can ever do. Most people also know that children can be incredibly expensive. Because of the many expenses such as diapers, summer camp, baseball, dance class, clothes, school supplies and post secondary education (just to name a few), your standard of living will change. I've created few ways to help you understand more about your children and how to manage money.

Teach Them About Money

The earlier your kids know about the importance of money the sooner the both of you will be in a better financial position. It's hard for kids to understand that cash really doesn't grow on trees. This is one lessen that you as a parent must instill on your children as early as possible. You can play or create games that teach them basic money concepts as well as reward their hard work for cutting the grass or raking the lawn.

Child See, Child Do

It's amazing how quickly children absorb everything that happens around them. **End Summary** Topics: Financial planning advice Money management advice Money management skills Personal finance debt Personal money management
About the Author:
You can pay off your debts and save money at the same time!

In my earlier post, I wrote about the importance of creating an emergency fund. Today, we'll go through some of the quick tips I give many of my consulting clients when I teach them personal finance basics regarding starting an emergency fund. In this post I will discuss budgeting, goal setting, and automating your emergency fund.

Budgeting - The first step in creating your emergency fund is to create a well thought out budget that not just give you an idea of where you are with your finances, but lets you know how much money you'll be allocating towards your budget. Budgeting is the most simple of lessons in personal finance basics and when you make a good one, you will discover areas you can cut back so you can put it towards your emergency fund or for different financial goals. You can look around google for many budget tools, or look at our resource link to our budget spreadsheet.

Goal Setting - Learning from other financial experts is a hobby of mine as a financial consultant. I do this to be certain I'm lending the best possible advice I can to my clients. **End Summary** Topics: Budgeting tips Financial planning tips Free financial advice Money saving advice Personal financial planning
About the Author:
You can pay off your debts and save money at the same time!

Have you ever spent a lot more cash than anticipated on a date hoping to make a good first impression or re-kindle an old flame? Here's three tips I've used when I try to be responsible and manage my money while creating romantic outings without appearing cheap.

Go for a Hike and Picnic - When we first started to date, I thought my spouse would be impressed with an expensive meal and evening out. Then, I discovered how to manage my money and tried a a less expensive dating idea. I made a delicious picnic lunch and took her out to a local Provincial park. We spent time together hiking and chatting. When we got tired, we sat on an old blanket and talked about how wonderful the scenery was and laughed at the spastic wildlife. Major breakthrough. Our conversations were much more lively and meaningful on this date than any dinner and movie. We weren't interrupted by other movie goers or distracted by the baseball game on the television. It was like we were the only people in the world. **End Summary** Topics: Financial planning advice Financial planning tips Free financial advice Money management advice Money saving advice
About the Author:
You can pay off your debts and save money at the same time!
Part 4 - Don't Let Your Electric Bill Zap Your Budget

In my earlier post on home saving tips I wrote about conserving water. This post will help with your electric bill. I will go over the personal finance basics regarding on of your more expensive utility bills. Hydro bills can be very high in the summer, with air conditioners raging. If you're in the north and have baseboard heaters, you'll discover that hydro bills skyrocket as it gets colder. Here's three tips to help reduce your hydro bill.

Are You Using that Computer? - I work in an office where the computers are always on. They stay on even on the weekends. A little research in personal finance basics will show that a computer uses as much power every hour than a 14 watt compact fluorescent lamp for 24 hours. My work's last hydro bill surpassed $700 for one month. They could lower their costs by at least 27% by turning the computers off in the evenings and weekends.

Is Your Home Energy Efficient? **End Summary** Topics: how to manage money how to manage money tips manage my money personal finance basics personal finance help
About the Author:
You can pay off your debts and save money at the same time!
