Remembering Society as God Views It

When I was in first grade, we had three reading groups. Section one used a yellow book; group two a red book. The third group (the slow readers) read out of the green book. In second grade, where there once had been a third group, there now were the Blue Jays. I am not sure if it felt better to go up when the Blue Jays were called. Everyone still knew they were the bottom group by seeing who was in the group and by hearing them read out loud. These students could not read any more improved, but they were not in the third group. They were now Blue Jays.

Then janitors became custodians, and custodians gave way to sanitation engineers. I think they are now considered custodians. Teachers aids became teachers assistance and secretaries cast away to become administrative assistances. We figured out that the title Miss might seem belitting because it told the world that she was not married, although Mr. gave no such detail about a man. So we substituted Ms. for all ladies, but it somehow did not catch on for married woman. So Miss is now in some circles Ms. **End Summary** Topics: youth mentoring youth mentor christian mentoring
About the Author:
John Cragg is the director of Long Island Youth mentoring.
Perfect Wedding Location - Part 2

The first Thing in Arranging a Special Wedding Day is locating the ideal location.

People Factors to determine:

o Ease of logistics and setup
o Rules/regulations/restrictions
o The Venue’s Flexibility
o Customer Service

LOGISTICS—EASE AND SETUP

A bride wants to get joined on a mountain top; however, what about chairs. Pondering through all the details of a wedding ceremony and reception is key to a less stressful event. If you like risk then yes, go for the mountain top; and let the winds roll as they may. If you are a naturally carefree person, then this will not be a worry. If you are very structured and a perfectionist, stop now. There are tons and tons of details included in planning a wedding, and you will need to encircle yourself with experts who know what has to be done. Choose a place with experience and staffing to take care of your needs. Remember, you want to make this a EXCITING day for you. Temecula Winery Weddings are a great option for they are very unique, beautiful, and all-inclusive.

RULES, REGULATIONS, RESTRICTIONS

Unawareness is not bliss. Ask lots of questions at every location you consider. **End Summary** Topics: Temecula wedding Temecula CA wedding Temecula weddings
About the Author:
Loretta Falkner is co-owner of Falkner Winery in the Temecula California wine country.
Petit Verdot Ages Better In Temecula Wine

Petit Verdot grown in Temecula Valley Vineyards offers improved characteristics for a Meritage blended wine.

Petit Verdot (pronounced peh-TEE vehr-DOUGH and means little green) is a red wine grape classically used in Bordeaux-style red wine grape and American Cabernets to add color, tannins, and complexity. The grape is small, thick skinned, with deep color. Winemakers generally use this temecula grape as cooks would use herbs. It is generally used in small portions of 5% or less in blended wine due to its tendency to cause a puckery taste and have strong vinous grassy flavors & aromas reminiscent of pencil shavings. However, when allowed to become very ripe in hot climates such as Temecula, the vinous tastes are less pronounced so higher amounts can be used. Fully mature fruit offers the best of a Big Red wine with spice, leather, and floral notes while still keeping the right level of acidity.

Acreage of Petit Verdot are increasing in California because the climate allows for ripening of the grapes, enhancing the taste of the wine. The Petit Verdot varietal is also on the rise in other hot wine growing locations like Australia and South America. **End Summary** Topics: Temecula wine Temecula wineries Temecula vineyards
About the Author:
Wiens Family Cellars, a Temecula California winery, is committed to developing world class (big red) Temecula wines with fruit taken from the Temecula Valley.
Wiens Winery Offers Wine Blending Seminars

A warm welcome from the Wiens family launched our exhilarating wine blending class at Wiens Family Cellars annual wine blending seminar. After a warm reception, the group of more than 30 attendees was ushered into the atmospheric barrel room. This handsomely decorated room had 10 tables covered by linen table cloths. Each table had a setting for four, four mystery wine bottles labeled A to D, a graduated cylinder (like you would find in a chemistry class), and several other instruments for blending wine. To set the proper mood, all in attendance were poured a glass of Wiens exquisite wine and provided tasty hor doeuvres.

The class was directed by Doug The Palate Wiens, a winemaker, viticulturist, and one of several Wiens family members in attendance. Dougs 30-minute class was fashioned to ready us for a contest, pitting table against table, as we designed our own blended wine which was to be judged by the Wiens family later that evening. Throughout the class we learned that wine blending is very common for wineries. **End Summary** Topics: Temecula event Temecula winery event Temecula winery Teme
About the Author:
Wiens Family Cellars, a Temecula winery, is committed to making world class (big red) Temecula wines with fruit sourced from the Temecula Valley.
Perfect Wedding Location

The first step in planning is finding the perfect wedding location.

Brides Special Factors to Evaluate:

o Your Dream
o Ambiance
o Time of year
o Travel time/distance for guests

YOUR DREAM

REALITY CHECK. If you desire to marry on the moon, then the earth will not do. The most significant determination is to conclude if your dream is achievable based on finances and realism. Take a hard reflective look at yourself, and conclude if anything will make you happy. This is the first obstacle to defeat before even looking for a location. Readjust and adjust your thinking to appreciate that the wedding day is the First Step in bringing about many lifelong experiences and memories. If this cannot be worked through, the wedding structure will not be a special event for you, your soul mate, your friends and family.

AMBIANCE

The feel of the venue is very important to reaching your dream. If you are an city girl then do not go to the mountains. Find a beautiful Hotel or Private Club/restaurant to take on your wedding event. If you love nature and the (natural) then go outside the city environment. **End Summary** Topics: temecula wedding wine country wedding vineyard weddings
About the Author:
http://falknerwinery.com/winery-wedding/temecula-wedding.php

Award Winning Riesling Wine

When people catch the word Riesling, they think of a German white wine. While that is true, it is also inaccurate to envision Riesling in such a restricted way. Riesling is a unique grape varietal that is used to bring about Riesling wines. Germany was the lead to make a market for these wines going back to the 15th century. To be absolutely accurate, they yield many different variations of the same varietal. Each type is based on the level of residual sugar left in the wine when fermentation is done. To the one acquiring this marks the contrast between dry, semi-dry, and sweet tasting Riesling wine. The Alsace region of northern German is well-known for a dry style of Riesling while the other styles are more prevalent in the Rhine region. When favorably produced, Riesling wines have a higher than normal acid level making them somewhat crisp and bright fruit flavors such as peach, apple, grapefruit, and pear.

For years it was believed that the cool climate and the slate and sandy clay soils of Germany were the best elements to produce a successful Riesling grape for high grade wines. **End Summary** Topics: temecula wine tasting temecula wine temecula riesling wine <a href="http://www.articlesnatch.com/topic/california+riesling+wine

Electronic Cigars Help Tobacco Products Evolve

The cigarette and cigar have evolved over the last 70 years. Cigarettes were considered in during the First and Second World Wars. The war department was responsible as they gave out cigarettes as part of the ration package given to each soldier. Soldiers used cigarettes as they would money; for trading, gambling and just passing time. During this time the cigarette companies promoted cigarettes to women. Hollywood did their part to help by giving cigarettes a sexy image. Merlene Dietrich was one of the women who was highly visible for her sexy smoking image.

During the 1950s research caught up with the Hollywood hype encompassing cigarettes as science started reviewing the health dangers of cigarette smoking. The reaction of the cigarette companies painted their own picture on the reported health dangers by placing filters on cigarettes maintaining that the filters were the similar as used in hospital surgical rooms..

At the present, the government is trying to administer stricter regulations on cigarette and cigar manufacturers. However, cigars still have less laws them do cigarettes. Some clever young chap in America from ICIG developed a revolutionary new product called the electronic cigarette and electronic cigars. **End Summary** Topics: electronic cigar electronic cigarette icig nicotine replacement
About the Author:
David Cragg was funded by both Microsoft and IBM to build Internet marketing companies.
Thornton Temecula Winerys Yearly BBQ Lesson

Today I attended Thornton Winerys annual BBQ class. While I am well aware of the fine wines and champagnes that this Temecula winery produces, I had never had the occasion to see their executive chef in action. I now know what I have been missing.

When we arrived, each of us found on the table a detailed itinerary describing the ingredients and preparation secrets for each of the five foods they would prepare. Even more exciting for many of us were the row of wine glasses stacked in front of our place setting. Of course, the ever vigilant staff kept our glasses filled with many of their fine Temecula wines while the entertaining and informative Chef Steve Pickell filled our stomachs.

Chef Pickell led our two hour class how to prepare five amazing dishes. He started with a very fresh grilled panzanella salad. I doubt that I had ever considered salad as a food to prepare on the BBQ, yet it was well received and most had seconds. Next came the hearty grilled flatbread with caramelized onions and sausage. Once again, I would never have expected a flat bread dish to come off the BBQ? **End Summary** Topics: temecula restaurants temecula cooking class temecula wineries <a href="http://www.articlesnatch.com/topic/temecula+california

The Award Winning Temecula Valley Wine Story

While grapes have been grown and wineries yielding since the early ‘70’s in Temecula Valley, much has changed of late. The Valley itself is bestowed with an ideal climate for accomplishing high quality wine grapes: hot, sunny days; cool evenings; long growing season; and limited rainfall during the growing season. The addition of great draining and decomposed granite soil, led numerous entrepreneurs to Temecula with wine in mind. Names like Callaway swayed the pack with a belief and drive to put Temecula on the map”. The desire in the early ‘70’s was to produce a commercial quality product and increase the awareness of this new California appellation. They succeeded and Callaway Winery became known as The” Temecula winery.

During the next 30 years, wine growers streamed into the Valley determined to grow whatever Callaway and other new vineyards were acquring. This was largely Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon since the allocation for these wines in the United States was excellent. However, for Callaway and others to succeed in distributing their wines, the cost of production needed to be very low-priced so that the wholesale and retail wine prices could compete effectively. **End Summary** Topics: temecula wine temecula wineries temecula wine country temecula tasting temecula wine tasting
About the Author:
Ray Falkner is the owner of Falkner Wineries in Temecula, CA.
Ciciliot says innovative visitors want creative, surprising experiences. At Pinnacle Restaurant at Falkner Winery, customers come in different speeds. There's the laborious visitor who wants to get in and out quickly, anxious to complete a packed Wine Country tour schedule.

It's like people on a mission, said Ray Falkner, the Temecula winery's co-owner, in a recent interview. First thing they ask the server is, "What can you make for me very quickly?"

Then there's the buyer with a more flexible tour schedule and a warm approach to dining, followed by the multicourse-seeking lounger who can consume two-hour meals. The variance in moving along is typical of Wine Country tourists looking to balance the pursuits of food and wine.

Food and Temecula wine are both very artistic types of items, and the ability of putting these two artistries together ends up enhancing both of them, Falkner said. Perhaps that is why guests at wineries seek elevated culinary experiences, a pattern noted by Gianni Ciciliot, the new executive chef at Pinnacle, which was named best restaurant of 2007 and 2008 by Inland Empire Magazine. **End Summary** Topics: temecula dining temecula restaurants temecula wine temecula wineries temecula food
About the Author:
Elizabeth Han, The Press-Enterprise writes about Temecula wineries.
Will the Government Put GM Out of its Missery As the Final Solution?

Often you get involved in the topic of GM's bankrupsy being heatedly debated around work. Whether we should send GM into bankrupsy or have the government intervene with financial support. It's very clear that not everyone can agree on the same solution. This has global implications, and there are good and bad arguments for each side of the debate. Based on the latest information the government has taken the stance that supporting GM is the best course of action, as long as the company makes adequate changes to their business model with the loans.

What Did GM Do Wrong
There are many reasons why GM is in the current financial disaster. There is the long-term loss in their sales, due to obvious reasons, including vehicle quality, inattractive fuel efficiency, and attractiveness. Then there are the problematic labor and "legacy" costs, including pensions and benefits to current and former employees. The company and labor have both made financially disasterous decisions that helped in the short-term but caused damage to the company's financial well being in the long-term, which has finally caught up to them. This includes paying lower salaries in exchange for larger, longer-term benefits. **End Summary** Topics: gm gm bankrupt stock market day trading
About the Author:
Nicholas Swezey is the manager of the day trading game at http://www.HowTheMarketWorks.com.

Cheese and wine are quite similar, and they have been enjoyed together since ancient times. Both are foods of fermentation. Both may be consumed while fresh, simple, and young or in their more complicated forms when they are aged and mature.

When joined, wine and cheese do their part to bring out the best in each other, and even the wine snobes can't agree on any guidelines for the wine and cheese pairing match game. **End Summary** Topics: Wine and Cheese Pairing Wine and Cheese Wine Pairing How to Pair
About the Author:
David Cragg is an Web marketing professional for the Temecula Valley with over 30 years of work experiance.
What are ETFs -- Exchange-Traded Funds

You may have heard of ETFs. What exactly are they?

Introduction
Exchange-Traded Funds, or ETFs, are just like mutual funds but that trade on stock exchanges, with a few differences. This gives them many of the advantages of stocks while avoiding some of the downsides that mutual funds have.

Why Use ETFs
Have you ever wanted to trade shares of an index like the Dow Jones Industrial Average or the S&P 500? You can't trade that directly but you can do it indirectly through ETFs. Those who supervise ETFs usually invest in the same stocks or futures that make up an index or commodity in an effort to make the ETF's value per share track a certain index or commodity up and down. This allows people with access to stock trading the ability to easily buy and sell indexes or commodities indirectly.

Example: SPY - SPDR Trust Series I:
One of the most actively traded ETFs is SPY, who's goal is to track the price and performance of the S&P 500 index. **End Summary** Topics: etf Exchange-Traded Funds Exchange Traded Funds
About the Author:
Nicholas Swezey is the designer of the Free Stock Market Game at http://HowTheMarketWorks.com.
