Dr. Tiller: Let's Not Make Him a Martyr

Letâ€™s start at the top of the controversy rather than working up to it. Scott Roeder is at the moment the only suspect in the shooting of Dr. Tiller. If he is found guilty then he alone will be culpable for Dr. Tillerâ€™s death. For those who like to say that Roe v. Wade is the law and we should live with it, the law that says only the one who pulled the trigger is guilty is a law they will have to live with as well. In our system of law as it pertains to capital crimes unless there is a conspiracy there is no guilt by association. Conversely there is also no innocence by association. Christian leaders and conservative citizens in general have jumped at the chance to label Mr. Roeder a vigilante a monster and things far worse. Condemning Roeder doesnâ€™t add anything to the pro-life cause. Pro-abortionists are always quick to remind the Christians of Christâ€™s rule of not judging or condemning. Unless a person is so involved in their private little pursuit of happiness and is too busy to even hear of what is taking place just outside of their own sphere they cannot escape the feeling that something has gone awry in America, the world. This weekâ€™s news is but a cross section of last weeks, last months or last years news. This week we heard of a judge in Oklahoma who forced a five year old to testify in court against her rapist. After ducking under courtroom benches and chairs to avoid even looking at her rapist the defendant is then given a paltry one year sentence for the rape of the child. Next is the story of two thugs standing outside of a polling booth in the 2008 elections intimidating voters before they enter to vote. That being hard enough to believe, now comes the report that Attorney General Eric Holder has decided not to prosecute the thugs even after a video with full audio has been made available of the incident. Eschatology is the study of the last four things specifically death, judgment, heaven and hell. The study of eschatology necessarily takes in the second coming of Christ since no judgment will take place until that is accomplished. Progressive liberalism is a neo-political term used to describe the geo-political trends in a modern world. It generally means a leaning toward larger government and less stringency in education and child rearing. A fuller definition would require pages not paragraphs. At the outset liberalism is at a disadvantage because of another definition and it is hard to make a comparison. An ismâ€ is a movement, doctrine or system of belief. An ologyâ€ is a specific body of knowledge and in general does not necessarily require anyoneâ€™s belief in it to make it true. You may believe that gravity is nothing but when you fall out of a tree it establishes itself as a law each and every time you hit the ground. Have we gone from the moral majority to the immoral majority all in about a mere thirty years? What Happened? On April 23, 2009 the Dominican Republic was urged by its President Leonel Fernandez to consider the matter of ending the death penalty for un-born children in that country. In a remarkable vote the lawmakers put down abortionâ€™s blood drain by a whopping 167 to 32. Made up of 31 provinces within an area roughly the size of the State of New Hampshire twice over the Dominican Republic is a Caribbean gem nestled between Haiti, the North Atlantic and the Caribbean Sea. With famous cities and resort areas like Puerto Plata, San Cristobal, and Santiago the capital city of Santo Domingo is by far the most attractive to tourist and visitors. The question is rhetorical. Obviously liberally minded Americans think Obamaâ€™s policies are all just peachy keen and conservative Americans are trying to hold back the urge to regurgitate. Pragmatically speaking, if we could suspend the question of right and wrong, is the unborn child any safer? Liberal or conservative, there is no choice here; the answer is an unequivocal no. Redundancies are safe in journalism if an author is found to quote say Lincoln or Albert Schweitzer a lot but I am willing to risk criticism for quoting my brother a bit too much. Most of those filing law suits to subpoena Obamaâ€™s documents are lawyers, politicians and military people none who have ever been known to be conspiracy theorists on any subject. The attempt to put them in the same class with those who chase UFO sightings or those who are still looking for the Holy Grail is demeaning and ridiculous. Questions about the body of Hitler, the whereabouts of Osama and how many shooters were on the grassy knoll and other conspiracy questions all have one thing in common; they are speculative and nearly un-answerable. Bringing a birth certificate or school records up out of a vault does not require a bit of speculation. All thatâ€™s needed is a subpoena not a theory. Producing a document is in no way comparable to proving a theory. The birth certificate in question is only one document that is conspicuously missing from Barack Obamaâ€™s past. This article was birthed December 16, 2008 the day after the Electoral College cast their votes making Barack Obama the 44th President of the United States. I felt compelled and duty bound to say these things to anyone who has ears to hear. I have no doubt not many will listen but I also know that as each year passes I will gain hearers exponentially. A shaking I generally predict will be the worst period in our entire history as a nation. The Freedom from Religion Foundation based in Madison Wisconsin placed a placard next to the manger scene in the Washington State Capital in early December 2008 that has a clearly anti-Christian message. In part it says There is only our natural world. Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds.â€ Each year America is inundated with true meaning of Christmasâ€ specials on the television and in films and books. As the commercial aspect of Christmas swells each year like a behemoth on growth hormones these specials mean less and less year by year. It is said that the minute you try to consciously become different than everyone else that effort makes you just the same.
