Cleanse Your Lymphatic System And Blood For Better Health

The lymphatic system and blood is involved collecting, transporting, and removing toxic materials from the body specifically the connective tissues. The lymphatic system contains lymph nodes where the toxins are delivered for the immune system to use and destroy invading organisms and chemicals. If the lymphatic system and blood is not cleansed properly, the immune system can be impaired, which leaves the body open to attach from invading organisms.

Lymph nodes are filled with a clear liquid called lymph. This fluid is comprised of proteins, waste, and other nutrients to feed cells and remove waste. This fluid surrounds every cell in the body and travels in the lymphatic vessels and or blood vessels and is vital for elimination of waste material. Lucky for us there are herbs that can be used to help cleanse both the lymphatic and blood system.

Red clover has been used for years as a lymphatic and blood cleanser. Traditionally, red clover has been used as a liver, nerve, and lung detox as well. Many herbalists recommend red clover when doing a whole body cleanse. Cleansing the blood is important because the blood transports oxygen and nutrients to the vital organs and tissue of the body. **End Summary** Topics: lymph cleanse lymph detox blood cleanse blood detox
About the Author:
Visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells herbal formulas to cleanse the <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/description/8333/vitamins/Total-Cleanse-Lymph/" target="_b">lymph</a> and blood system for better health and wellness.
Once A Year Body Detox And Cleanse To Boost Your Health

The longer you live the more chances you will accumulate toxins in the body. It is not uncommon to accumulate toxins from the environment you live in. A yearly cleanse is something everybody should consider to help keep the body's functioning properly and healthy.

Our bodies consistently detoxify itself every day and the primary organs that do this detox are the liver and kidneys. The body's own natural functions can cause toxins while trying to detox itself and these toxins can impair the body's ability to function efficiently, which can lead to debilitating disease and physical problems if left unchecked.

If you think you may have a toxic buildup in the body, there are some ways to know if the body needs to be detoxified. Some signs of toxic overload are fatigue, illness, constipation, gas, skin problems, nausea, PMS, depression, and poor circulation.

There are ways to rid the body of toxins naturally such as a cleansing or detox diet. Detoxification involves changes in diet along with an increase in fluid consumption specifically clean water. With a good dietary change, herbs can be used to help the detox process along.

We will first look at the liver. **End Summary** Topics: Detox body cleanse kidney cleanse liver cleanse
About the Author:
Please visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells herbal blends to <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/description/2250/vitamins/Detox-Blend-SP-25/" target="_b">detox</a> the body and improve health.
Enzymes And Probiotics Are Keys To Health And Digestion

The gastrointestinal system, a complex network of organs and glands which extracts nutrients and water from the food that we eat so that they can be used by the body, processes the food in six phases. First, it mentally prepares the stomach for the meal that we are about to eat. Then, it takes food into the body, followed by moving that food through the GI tract. Next, it breaks down the food with both mechanical and chemical processes and then absorbs the digestive food into the vascular and lymphatic systems for distribution to the cells. Finally, the indigestible substances and waste products are eliminated from the body. Digestion itself is divided into two categories, those being mechanical and chemical. Mechanical digestion is the physical movement that assists chemical digestion. After the initial breakdown by chewing, food is churned by the smooth muscles of the stomach and small intestine, allowing it to mix with the enzymes that start the chemical reactions. Chemical digestion, on the other hand, is a series of chemical reactions that break down large carbohydrate, lipid, and protein molecules into smaller molecules that can enter blood vessels. **End Summary** Topics: enzymes probiotics digestive support better health
About the Author:
Please visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/sourcenaturals/DigestiveSupport/" target="_b">digestive enzymes</a> to boost health.
Fight Debilitating Disease With Active Coq10

Recently, the benefits of Coenzyme Q10 have become increasingly well-known. Studies have proven this nutrient to improve heart function, reduce side effects of certain drugs used to treat cancer, and slow the progression of serious brain diseases, including Parkinson's disease. New research has shown that the active form of CoQ10, ubiquinol, can increase energy and stamina, and reduce some of the physical signs of aging.

CoQ10, a natural, fat-soluble nutrient, can be found in almost all cells. It is also known as ubiquinone because it exists everywhere there is life. Vital to ATP production, CoQ10 is produced by the body and exists in some limited dietary sources, but these levels may often be insufficient to meet the body's requirements. CoQ10 levels can diminish with age and as a result of dietary inadequacies and various disease states. Ubiquinol and CoQ10 are very closely related, as ubiquinol is the oxidized, active form of the CoQ10 molecule. Our bodies naturally convert CoQ10 to ubiquinol so that it is in the needed form to produce cellular energy. Because it was previously very unstable outside the human body, ubiquinol only recently has become able to be used as a supplement. **End Summary** Topics: coq10 coenzyme q10 atp ubiquinol
About the Author:
Please visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells active <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/description/ET06103/vitamins/Vitaline-Chewable-CoQ10-Maple-100mg/" target="_b">Coq10</a> to improve quality of life.
Fight Heart Burn With Herbs Like Dgl Licorice

Treatment for heart burn and peptic ulcers has changed dramatically in the past few years. Now, antacids, histamine blockers, and proton pump blockers are being used as standard ulcer therapy. These medicines don't address the root of the problem, but rather just block the ulcers' effects. Luckily, there is a natural supplement that effectively stimulates the body's normal defense mechanisms, preventing ulcer formation and promoting true healing.

Peptic ulcers are sores that form from acid and pepsin in the lining of the esophagus, stomach, or small intestine. Peptic ulcers are very common, as one in every 10 Americans develops an ulcer at some time in his or her life. The most common type of peptic ulcers occurs in the duodenum and tends to heal more quickly than stomach ulcers. Stomach ulcers are also more likely to recur. Some individuals with peptic ulcers have very mild symptoms while others have no symptoms at all. Still, for some pain is the most common symptom. The pain associated with an ulcer may be dull and gnawing, or burning and crampy. **End Summary** Topics: Heart Burn licorice DGL peptic ulcer H pylori
About the Author:
Please visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells supplements to help fight heart burn like <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/description/ET09021/vitamins/DGL-FF/" target="_b">DGL Licorice</a> .

Have you ever thought about what goes into your body each and every day? If not, you should. One of the key ways to ensure that you feel good and are healthy is by eating nutritious food and making sure your GI tract has the tools it needs to digest and absorb nutrients as best possible. The GI tract, which includes the stomach and intestines, works to digest food and eliminate waste. A variety of good intestinal bacteria, called probiotic bacteria, can help to keep the digestive system running by helping to digest food, process waste, and keep the bad bacteria in check.

Although some kinds of bacteria do cause illness and diseases in humans, the majority of bacteria do not cause disease. There are actually types of bacteria that are beneficial. Probiotic bacteria are used in the manufacturing of food and beverages and can be found in buttermilk, yogurt, cheese, sausage, and acidophilus milk. The same probiotics can be found in our intestines, where they help to keep the digestive system running by digesting food and processing waste. Probiotics are live bacteria that are non-toxic and do not cause disease. **End Summary** Topics: acidophilus lactobacillus bifidobacteria probiotic friendly bacteria
About the Author:
Please visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells high quality probiotics like <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/description/ET04314/vitamins/Acidophilus-Pearls-X-Press/" target="_b">acidophilus</a> to improve digestion.
Essential Fatty Acids Goes Against Conventional Wisdom

Only a few years ago we believed the philosophy that our fat consumption in our diet will cause heart disease and clog our arteries. Needless to say, the idea that eating foods high in fat will cause these problems has been debunked.

For the past decade, we have bought into the low fat diet fad, but obesity has continued to increase in the United States. Americans are becoming more aware of natural fats like omega-3 and omega-6. The media have poisoned Americans with the idea that all fats are bad, when in fact, fats found in nature have many benefits for your body. Reports on eggs which have omega-3 essential fatty acids contain natural fats which are beneficial for the body. As the American population become more and more aware of how bad low fat diets can be to your health, low carbohydrate diets will continued to become more popular than low fat diets. The addition of fats to a low carbohydrate diet could help one shed more fat by fooling the body into thinking it has enough fat in the diet to let go of what is in the fat stores of the body. **End Summary** Topics: essential fatty acids EFA omega-3 omega-6 fish oil flax seed oil primrose oil
About the Author:
Please visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells high quality <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/sourcenaturals/EssentialFattyAcids/" target="_b">Essential Fatty Acids</a> to boost the immune system and fight cardiovascular disease.
Lower Cholesterol And Blood Sugar With One Herb Fenugreek Seed

Unless you are into exotic spices such as Indian curry, you may never venture upon fenugreek seed. Fenugreek seed is favored more in the east as a spice where it is an integral part of pan-Asian Cuisine. In this article you will learn what fenugreek can do and how it works.

The true benefits of fenugreek lie in its long history of medical uses. For centuries, spanning Ayurvedic, traditional Chinese Medicine and folk medicine, fenugreek has been used all over the world. Fenugreek has so many usages - almost too numerous to count, however, scientists have been able to narrow down fenugreek top two functions. Fenugreek has the ability to reduce blood sugar and cholesterol. With its ability to lower blood sugar, fenugreek may hold a special interest by people who suffer from diabetes.

Fenugreek has been traced back over 1000 B.C., which makes it one of the oldest cultivated plants dating back as far as Egyptian texts. These texts detailed how fenugreek was used in the embalming and mummification process. History has shown that fenugreek is truly a multi-purpose herb; **End Summary** Topics: fenugreek fenugreek seed diabetes lower cholesterol
About the Author:
Please visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet, LLC sells high quality herbs like <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/description/SN1757/vitamins/Promilin-Fenugreek-Extract/" target="_b">Fenugreek Seed</a> extract for better health.

Even though many herbal medicines have not yet found scientific validation in the West, it is only logic that people wouldn't use a product for hundreds of years if it didn't work. Many of the herbs known for having great health benefits were just recently considered pretty exotic, even green tea. It is likely that this will happen the same way with herbs from the Amazon basin, one of the most bountiful environments on the planet. It has been looked to by explorers and botanists for the next big thing, which will have been in use by those in the Amazon basin for centuries.

Maca, which as been cultivated for at least 2000 years by the Andean people in Peru's central highlands, is related to the brassica family, which includes radishes, mustard and cabbage. Although its foliage appears somewhat like a radish, maca grows close to the ground. Maca contains numerous beneficial compounds that increase overall health and vitality. The cultivation of maca dates back to Incan sites in 1600 B.C. During early European colonization, maca was used by the local natives as a form of currency. **End Summary** Topics: amazon herbs acai berry maca Muira puama coffee berry Catuaba Bark Guarana exotic herbs
About the Author:
Please visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells high quality <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/herbs.cfm" target="_b">Herbs</a> and vitamins to boost energy.
7-keto Dhea May Help One Loss Weight

Nobody wants to be overweight. Almost 50% of women and 25% of men are trying to lose weight at any given time. However, most are not successful in fighting fat. In the past 25 years, obesity has increased 6%, with 61% of American adults being overweight. Among those who do lose weight, 95% regain all of the weight they lost within three years. However, recently a nutritional supplement called 7-ketohydroepiandrosterone (7-keto) has been studied for its ability to help people lose weight.

People who are overweight have a much higher risk for developing heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, certain types of cancer, gout, and gallbladder disease, than those who are of normal weight. It can also cause sleep apnea, infertility in women, and osteoarthritis. You are more likely to have health problems the more overweight you are. Half of the 61% of Americans who are overweight are obese. Obesity, stated in the simplest terms, is excessive fatness. A body mass index (BMI), which takes into account a person's weight and height to determine total body fat in adults, of 25 to 29.9 is considered overweight, while a BMI of 30 or higher is considered obese. **End Summary** Topics: weight loss 7-keto DHEA loose weight
About the Author:
Visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells high quality supplements like Source Naturals <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/description/SN1377/vitamins/7-Keto-DHEA-Metabolite-50-mg/" target="_b">7-Keto DHEA</a> to boost metabolism and loose weight.
Could Devil's Claw Be The Answer To Inflammation

Devil's claw has been used by native African tribes for centuries to treat rheumatism, arthritis, lower back pain, tendonitis, and dyspepsia. Harpagophytum Procumbens, also known as Devil's claw, is found in South Africa and used by locals to treat fever, blood disease, sores, skin ulcers, and sprains.

Devil's claw was first discovered by Germans in the mid 1900's, who introduced it to Europe as native medicines from the Bushman. Studies were done on devil's claw in German universities over forty years ago. Studies are still being conducted on the healing properties of devil's claw even to this day. Devil's claw is one of the herbs approved by the German Commission E and the European Scientific Cooperation of Phytotherapy (ESCOP). Devil's claw has been deemed by both organizations to be a safe and effective treatment for rheumatism, arthritis, osteoarthritis and tendonitis because of the analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties it possesses.

Studies have shown that with continued use, devil's claw can successfully reduce pain and improve mobility in patients suffering from rheumatic and arthritic conditions in just a few short weeks of use. **End Summary** Topics: <a href="http://www.articlesnatch.com/topic/devil"'""s+claw" rel="tag">devil"'""s claw devils claw anti-inflammatory Inflammation
About the Author:
Visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells high quality herbs like Solaray <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/description/1220/vitamins/Devil's-Claw/" target="_b">Devil's Claw</a> to help fight inflammation.
Multiple Vitamin, Omega-3, Coq10, And A Probiotic Are Four Essential Supplements Everyone Should Tak

Vitamins are substances that are found in foods and are necessary for life. They also allow the body to get through each day. Although some have specific tasks, most work together to provide the body with many health benefits. Vitamins are either fat or water-soluble. Those that are water soluble leave the body quickly while those that are fat-soluble are stored in the liver and fat cells for quite awhile. Some of these fat-soluble vitamins include vitamins A, D, E, and K. Most people take vitamins to fill nutritional gaps that occur when our diets aren't as good as we'd like to admit. Vitamins should not be taken as a substitute for a healthy diet, as good eating habits should always be the first priority. The Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) is the amount of essential nutrients that is considered to be adequate to meet nutritional needs of almost all healthy people, or the amount to prevent a nutrient deficiency. However, the optimal levels are really a lot higher than 100% of the RDA. **End Summary** Topics: Omega-3 multiple vitamin probiotic coq10 better health health and wellness
About the Author:
Visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells high quality Multiples, Coq10, Probiotics, and <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/description/84012/vitamins/Omega-3-Fish-Oil/" target="_b">Omega-3</a> fish oil to boost health and wellness.
Papaya - Good For Digestion And As An Antioxidant

Although seventy years ago the average life expectancy was age 62, today people are not only living well into their 80s and 90s, but they are also living better too. Doing activities such as mountain biking, kayaking, jogging, hiking, gardening, and golfing, it seems as if everyone is on the go, no matter what their age. Since nobody wants to spend retirement in a doctor's office, it is important to start planning for a longer, more vibrant life. Huge advances are made each day in the understanding of how men and women age that help to improve our chances of living long, healthy lives. Some of the most impressive findings have shown that nutritional supplements can help, mainly specially formulated papaya preparation, which is able to fight two of the primary reasons we get old, oxidative stress and immune system decline.

Papaya, a tangy tasting fruit, is now appearing more and more in the produce departments of most grocery stores. A papaya has a bright orange flesh that is very slippery and a core filled with little black seeds. **End Summary** Topics: papaya papaya extract papaya chewable anti-aging antiaging fountain of youth
About the Author:
Visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells high quality supplements like American Health <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/description/AM0052/vitamins/Super-Papaya-Enzyme-Plus-Chewable/" target="_b">papaya chewables</a> to boost health and wellness.
Fight Cancer With Broccoli Concentrates And Other Green Vegetables

Everyone can remember when their mothers said, Eat your broccoli, it is good for you. Research is showing that your mother did know best! In this article, we will discuss research on cruciferous vegetable extracts and how it can fight cancer.

Dr. Paul Talalay of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine showed that sulforaphane a phytonutrient found in broccoli can help fight cancer in laboratory mice. Other studies have shown that diets rich in broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, and other greens can significantly reduce your risk of breast, bowel, and stomach cancer.

Dr. Paul Talalay discovered the once unknown reason why these vegetables can help prevent cancer. Dr. Talalay discovered that broccoli contained sulforaphane compounds, these compounds have been shown to cause cells to expel cancer causing toxins in laboratory animals. Dr. Talalay also discovered that when you isolate these sulforaphane compounds and feed them to mice, this compound accelerated the detoxification process in the animal's cells.

Dr. Talalay's published report showed how his research team isolated these broccoli sulforaphane's and fed them to groups of mice in high doses. **End Summary** Topics: mixed vegetables cruciferous fight cancer boost health vegetables and cancer
About the Author:
Visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells high quality vegetable concentrates like Natures Plus <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/description/NP3778/vitamins/MIXED-VEGETABLES-180/" target="_b">Mixed Vegetables</a> to boost health and wellness.

You may have heard the term Probiotic from friends and family but never knew what it was. In this article we will discuss good bacteria and its benefits to the body, who may need to supplement probiotics in their diet and where to find them. For those who have never heard of probiotics, this term is given to bacteria found in our intestinal tract also known as friendly bacteria.

The human gastrointestinal tract houses more than 400 different live beneficial bacteria. Among these good bacteria include L. acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum, the two most abundant friendly bacteria found in the gastrointestinal tract must keep balance with bad bacteria such as E.coli or your health starts to decline. If you suspect you have a problem in your GI tract, some of the health problems you may be experiencing are poor digestion, headaches, and intestinal yeast an overgrowth of the bacteria candida albacans which can make life unpleasant.

L. Acidophilus produces acidphilin, lactic acid, and hydrogen peroxide which together produce an antimicrobial agent in the GI tract which fight against foreign environmental borne pathogens. **End Summary** Topics: probiotic acidophilus bifidus friendly bacteria bad bacteria candida fight candida
About the Author:
Please visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells high quality probiotics like Kal brand <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/description/50013/vitamins/Acidophilus-Probiotic-4/" target="_b">Acidophilus Probiotic 4</a> to boost health and wellness.
How Important Is It To Do A Liver Cleanse

Performing over 500 functions, the liver metabolizes carbohydrates and proteins, synthesizes and stores vitamins, regulates hormones, along with many other things. To do this job, the liver is also required to be exposed to many harmful toxins and chemicals each day. To support the liver through periodic supplementation, the proper balance of herbal ingredients, phytosterols, and fiber is necessary. This balance can be found in a supplemental liver cleanse. A multi-ingredient formula is a convenient way to support overall liver health and detoxification. Among many ingredients most liver cleanses include: herbal ingredients that support liver and gallbladder health; detoxifying ingredients that keep bound toxins from being reabsorbed; phytosterols to block cholesterol absorption in the intestines; fiber that moves cholesterol and toxins out of the body; oat beta-glucan fiber with up to four times higher viscosity than others; and a simple, two week liver cleanse program. A good supplement should contain calcium, Fiber Blends, Milk Thistle Fruit Phytosome, Burdock Root Extract, Calcium D-Glucarate, Boldo Leaf Extract, Turmeric Rhizome Extract, Dandelion Root Extract, and Artichoke Leaf Extract. **End Summary** Topics: liver cleanse fiber cleanse fiber formula detox formula healthy cholesterol
About the Author:
Please visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells high quality Cleanses like Enzymatic Therapy's <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/description/ET01315/vitamins/Complete-Liver-Cleanse/" target="_b">Liver Cleanse</a> to help improve liver function.
The Awesome Foursome, which includes Coenzyme Q10, L-Carnitine, D-Ribose, and Magnesium, assists our hearts to better metabolize energy and protects them from the stress of cardiovascular disease. This combination goes straight to the basic biochemistry of cellular energy metabolism. In order to see how Coenzyme Q10, L-carnitine, D-Ribose, and magnesium work together to promote cardiovascular health, we must first the affects of each one in particular.

Coenzyme Q10, a powerful antioxidant that helps to protect the mitochondrial membrane, mitochondrial membrane, mitochondrial DNA, and cell walls from free-radical attack, is most important in the body for its central role in energy metabolism. About ninety percent of the ATP is used by the cells for food and oxidized in the mitochondria. Fatty acids, carbohydrates, and proteins enter the Krebs' cycle and move from step to step spinning off electrons after being carried across the mitochondrial membrane. These electrons are sent to the electron transport chain where the energy is captured as a phosphate group is added to ADP, forming ATP. By recycling ATP, CO2 and water are produced in the process called oxidative phosphorylation. **End Summary** Topics: D-ribose L-Carnitine Coenzyme Q10 magnesium heart disease cardiovascular disease
About the Author:
Visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells high quality herbs like Source Naturals <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/description/SN2007/vitamins/D-Ribose-Powder/" target="_b">D-Ribose</a> to improve heart health.
Reduce Muscle Pain And Inflammation With Natural Flexibility Formulas

At some point, everyone has or will experience muscle pain and inflammation as a result of overuse and exertion. Whether it is the cause of a softball game, weekend camping trip, or a chore-intensive day, our body lets us know that we've overdone it. Fortunately, there are formulas out there that contain clinically studied ingredients that provide a natural solution. These products, which are designed to reduce pain and inflammation as a result of overuse, contain clinically studied ingredients that have been shown to help balance the body's own inflammatory response.

Inflammation is an essential part of your body's healing process. After some form of physical stress affects the body, the immune system responds by sending defensive compounds to the site that was affected. This causes fluid build-up, pain, and redness, the symptoms we typically associate with inflammation. Until the situation is resolved, these symptoms will stick around. Although it may not seem good, without the pain and inflammation that we experience, we'd end up doing more damage to our bodies. Therefore, pain and inflammation are actually effective stop signs. **End Summary** Topics: pain and inflammation joint pain muscle pain bromelain pain supplement
About the Author:
Visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells quality herbs like enzymatic therapy's <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/description/ET01686/vitamins/FlexAgility-MAX/" target="_b">pain and inflammation</a> formulas.
In the recent issue Circulation, a new method for detecting heart disease was discussed. This may offer hope for those with a family history of heart disease. Scientists at Michigan University and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN discovered that by administering calcium to patients may allow doctors to detect blocked arteries for people who show no symptoms of disease. This is a non-evasive way for doctors to detect heart disease early.

This is a fifteen minute test, called electron beam computed tomography (EBCT) test which detects calcium in arteries. Originally this test was used for patients already experiencing symptoms of heart disease, but researchers have discovered this EBCT test can be used for those not experiencing heart disease and is very effective. A study was tested on both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients and the results were seventy percent accurate.

You might be wondering how the EBCT works? This test measures the calcium buildup or deposits in artery plaque. Plaque in the arteries will block blood flow and eventually can lead to coronary artery disease (CAD). Coronary arteries supply your heart with blood and oxygen. A complete blockage in one of these arteries can cause a heart attack. **End Summary** Topics: heart disease heart attack ebct ecg multiple
About the Author:
Please visit VitaNet, LLC.
Green Tea: An Antioxidant Power House

For centuries in China, Japan, Malaysia, and Indonesia, green tea has been a popular drink. In the past few years green tea has become popular in the United States and continues to grow around the world. Part of this ever growing popularity is because of the scientific data supporting the health benefits of green tea.

Many Americans ask the question, what makes green tea better than black tea; they both come from the same plant? Green tea leaves are harvested fresh and steamed. Black tea is harvested in the same way but the leaves are left to age and oxidize, this oxidation creates chemical compounds that are good for cholesterol among other health benefits, but does not exhibit the cancer fighting benefits of green tea.

Green tea unlike black tea is high in polyphenols, which have powerful cancer fighting antioxidant properties. These beneficial compounds will vary from season to season along with the climate the plant is located in so not all green tea supplements are the same. Also, harvesting processes will determine how much healing polyphenols are left in the herb at time of encapsulation. **End Summary** Topics: green tea green tea extract cancer green tea and cancer nitrosamines carcinogens
About the Author:
Visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells high quality herbs like Solaray <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/description/10746/vitamins/Green-Tea-Double-Strength/" target="_b">green tea</a> to help fight cancer.
Turmeric Extract May Help Prevent Alzheimer€™s Disease

In India, Alzheimer€'s disease is fairly uncommon, with a less than 1 percent chance of people over the age of sixty-five living in certain rural areas developing the disease. The risk is just 2.4 percent for those who live in the larger cities and rural areas. When comparing these percentiles to the people living over the age of sixty-five in the United States, depending on where we are living, our chances of developing Alzheimer€'s disease range from a little under five percent to seventeen percent. The question is, what are people living in India doing differently than we are doing here in the United States? The answer seems to curry, a zesty spice and staple of Indian foods, which has been proven to prevent changes in the brain that lead to Alzheimer€'s disease, and may also reverse some of the damage already present.

Curry, which comes from the turmeric plant, gets its recognizable bright yellow pigment from curcumin, a compound found in turmeric. There have been numerous studies on turmeric and its health benefits for humans proving its ability to help the body get rid of cancer-causing toxins. Turmeric also blocks estrogen receptors and enzymes that promote cancer. **End Summary** Topics: turmeric turmeric extract alzheimers disease beta-amyloid amyloid
About the Author:
Visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells high quality supplements like Source Naturals <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/description/SN0089/vitamins/Turmeric-Extract---95-Curcumin/" target="_b">turmeric extract</a> .
Can Memory Loss Be Linked To Aspartame

New research presented at the November meeting of Society for Neuroscience in New Orleans suggests NutraSweet (or aspartame) could be linked to aspartame consumption. Researchers at a University in Fort Worth, Texas believe aspartame consumed in excess could cause certain kinds of memory loss.

Ninety students were studied and interviewed in one study. In this study their use of aspartame and memory problems were documented. The results, those that consumed aspartame regularly complained of forgetfulness related to various tasks they perform on a regular basis. They would forget to perform tasks at the time the tasks were scheduled to be performed. The students€' perceptions of their memory problems have yet to be backed up with concrete test results. Researchers tested students on short term memory with quizzes which tested the student€'s ability to remember lists, phone numbers, and faces. Some of the researchers argued that this was not a real life test because all the students had similar results.

Head of the study Timothy Barth, PH.D., stated that measuring everyday memory is difficult to perform and recommended further research be done to test memory and behavior in subjects ingesting varying amounts of aspartame. **End Summary** Topics: memory loss aspartame nutrasweet reduce memory loss vitamin c vitamin a vitamin e
About the Author:
Visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells high quality supplements like Solaray Buffered <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/description/4410/vitamins/Buffered-Vitamin-C-500/" target="_b">Vitamin C</a> .
Folic Acid May Reduce Birth Defects And Aid In Cancer Treatment

Folate also known as folic acid is a member of the B vitamin family, derived from the term foliage. Folic acid is found in dark leafy vegetables, legumes, citrus fruits, meat, and wheat germ. Let's look at how folic acid is found in nature, how folic acid might help in birth defects, and help with cancer treatment.

Folic acid occurs in two forms in nature folic acid or folate. The only place you will find folic acid is in fortified foods or multiple vitamins. B vitamins need to be in their active form for the body to utilize them. All B vitamins have to be coenzymated by the liver the active form before the body can absorb them. Folic acid is usually found in the form of folate. Folate is the most commonly use form of folic acid because it is highly bioavailable and chemically stable. Folate is easily reduced to tetrahydrofolate, the active coenzyme form of folate.

Folate is most always absorbed in the small intestines. Folate is converted or metabolized into 5-methylterahydrofolate when absorbed across the intestinal mucosa. **End Summary** Topics: Folic acid folate bioactive folic acid birth defects spinal bifida anencephaly
About the Author:
Visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells high quality supplements like Natures Life <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/description/15611/vitamins/Folic-Acid--400-mcg/" target="_b">folic acid</a> .
Improve Memory And Focus With Alpha Lipoic Acid And Other Supplements

Although it is true that as we age, we find that we can't walk quite as fast or play sports quite as hard as we could in our twenties. A healthy diet, regular exercise, and the right dietary supplements can make a huge difference in our health, strength, and mobility. Similarly, we find that we may not think as quickly as we used to, misplacing our keys occasionally and experiencing more losses of words. Although this is an ordinary problem with aging, in a small number of cases, these mental slips can be the first sign of a serious disease of aging such as Alzheimer's disease. Just like our physical health, we can improve our mental health by eating healthy foods, taking the right supplements, and regularly exercising our minds, we can significantly increase our mental endurance, improve our memory, and increase our ability to focus. Research has proven that specific herbs and vitamins, especially Ginkgo biloba, Bacopa monnieri, folic acid, vitamins B6 and B12, and alpha lipoic acid, have powerful effects on memory and focus. **End Summary** Topics: Alpha lipoic acid ala bacopa ginkgo biloba memory loss improve memory improve focus memory and focus
About the Author:
Visit VitaNet Health Foods, VitaNet sells high quality supplements like <a href="http://vitanetonline.com/description/SN1433/vitamins/Alpha-Lipoic-Acid-Timed-Release-300-mg/" target="_b">Alpha lipoic acid</a> to strengthen memory and focus.
