Yoga For Self-Discovery - The Discipline of Yoga

When we consider the word "discipline," we might think of the military or harsh training. Yoga may not come to mind, when considering the many faces of discipline. Yet, Yoga is a genuine discipline, which has evolved for thousands of years, and it qualifies this description for two reasons.

1. Yoga is an immense branch of knowledge.

2. Yoga will develop positive behavior through instruction and practice - especially in the art of training one's mind.

When you listen to people talk, one of the most common complaints is a lack of respect for each other. This complaint is timeless, but it stems from the fact that people resist self-discipline. Who wants to be the keeper of him or herself?

Most of us would rather let someone else be the disciplinarian. To regulate manners, responsibility, and respect is a daunting task for anyone who supervises others. At the same time, rules and regulations tend to have a logical order. Who wants to be the example of a trained mind?

Humankind tends to overindulge in many different vices. Although we are proud to be considered intelligent, we have the ability to make poor and self-destructive choices. **End Summary** Topics: Yoga yogi yogic health healthy Self Discovery discover Discipline practice develop
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.
Teachings of Yoga and the Fear of Success

If one is in search of spiritual enlightenment, should he or she avoid success in all other matters? How many Yoga practitioners think that success is a bad thing? Abundance, success, and achievement are shunned by many Gurus. There is a logical reason for this, but there is also a drawback for all of humankind.

One of many reasons, for embracing poverty, is to practice Aparigraha (non- possessiveness). Yet, those who tell others to enjoy poverty, give this advice to keep greed "in check." It is true that greed can make slaves of all of us. Chasing power and material wealth can be a never ending struggle.

Those who become consumed by covetousness are never happy - no matter how many possessions they have or how much power they hold. On the other hand, the fear of succeeding holds our entire species back. If all of us refused to advance ourselves, we would still be drawing on the walls of caves.

It is one of humanity's greatest qualities - to explore, create, and become innovators. At this time, no other species on this planet can be so constructive or destructive. **End Summary** Topics: Teaching teach teacher Yoga yogic yogi health healthy fit fitness Fear Success mental
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.
Practice Yoga to Create a Positive Life Plan in Two Easy Steps

How can Yoga give you the insight and vision to develop a life plan that is optimistic? What holds you back from opportunities? These questions become life riddles for those of us who lose our way during the journey of life. Let's take an in-depth look at these two riddles and create a positive life plan for you.

1. How can Yoga give you the insight and vision to develop a life plan that is optimistic? The practice of Yoga was developed as a method of training the mind, body, and spirit. Once this is achieved, we can reduce suffering which occurs during the course of life.

Yoga is not magic. All forms of Yoga are maintenance systems for mental, spiritual, emotional and physical health. Once a practitioner has developed self-control, inner peace and balance, he or she is able to envision a life with purpose.

Having a life purpose is the foundation of optimism. As much as it may pain you, listen to a pessimist and you will see the opposite. Someone who is scornfully negative has no purpose other than to cast doubt on all ideas and solutions. **End Summary** Topics: Practice practices Yoga yogic health healthy fitness fit Positive Life Plan planning
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.
Hatha Yoga, Personal Growth, and the Environment

Among the members of many noble causes, you will find Yogis and Yoginis. Causes such as: Charities for curing diseases, world peace, and saving the natural environment are filled with Hatha Yoga practitioners. While it is true that these people are performing Karma Yoga, what is it that draws them toward giving to others?

The core of all Yoga philosophy agrees with the values of the environmental conservation. There is a logical reason for this. Living, eating, consuming, and recycling, in a healthier way, have impact on our environment. The Sattvic (Yoga) diet is environmentally friendly and healthy, at the same time.

The environmental decisions we make today will have a definite impact on future generations. You could listen to a newscaster, or a politician, deny the fact of global warming, or you could see that the world's glaciers are melting at a rapid rate.

Glaciers in Austria, Alaska, Antarctica, Greenland, Peru, and many more locations are receding; and in some cases, disappearing altogether. The easiest course of action is to deny everything, bury our heads in the sand, and go about business as usual. **End Summary** Topics: Hatha Yoga yogic health healthy fit fitness Personal Growth Environment development yogi
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.
Yoga For Self-Discovery - Is Happiness a Formula?

Can Yoga reveal a formula for happiness? Is it possible to live a worry-free life, if we were to follow Yogic teachings? What holds us back from finding happiness? What would one day of harmony be like? Let's look deeper into Yoga and discover proven methods for resolving life's daily problems.

Can Yoga reveal a formula for happiness? In a nutshell - the answer is "yes." The problem is that most people are looking for a fast solution. Yoga does not supply us with quick and temporary solutions. Yoga becomes the practitioner's lifestyle, because it is based upon 5,000 years of documentation and research.

In other words, one has to practice Yoga, for an extended time, before seeing the deeper results. How long will that be? It depends on the willingness of a practitioner to maintain a steady practice and the realistic tracking of results. Contrary to popular myths, lifestyle changes rarely happen in a day, week, or month.

Most often, the positive results of Yoga practice can be noticed in physical appearance, or behavior; but these are gradual changes. **End Summary** Topics: Yoga yogi yogic Self Discovery discover health healthy Happiness happy formula technique
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.
Yoga For Self-Discovery - Finding Your Inner Child

In Yoga, self-discovery is the quest for truth, which begins within each of us. If we manage to avoid the pitfalls of self-pity, we often seek solutions outside of our being. A good example of this is when we try to change others, and when others try to change us.

How will Yoga help you find your inner child? The two words "inner" and "child," when combined, take on an identity of their own. Someone may think of a situation comedy, while another person may think of counseling sessions. In contemporary psychology, the words, "inner child," usually refer to the childlike components of a person's psyche.

In Yoga, we may call this the true self or the original self. The inner child is often suppressed and not allowed to do any creative thinking. In some societies, we are taught to suppress the inner child, which hinders the chance of self-realization, enhanced awareness, or a self-awakening. Heaven forbid that we allow our childhood aspirations and creative thoughts to come to the surface of our being.

Why in the world do you want to find your inner child? **End Summary** Topics: Yoga yogi yogic health healthy fit fitness Self Discovery discover Inner Child innoscence
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.
Discover How Yoga Will Rid Your Life of Emotional Baggage

ow does Yoga give you peace of mind? Each day is a new opportunity for all of us. For those who seek inner peace, Yoga is much like a compass, which directs us toward fields of happiness and unlimited opportunities.

Unfortunately, many people only see what they do not have. When you ask people what bothers them most about their lives, many of them will point to a missed opportunity or something that is difficult to possess. Very few will realize the value of good friends, good health, common sense, and a loving family. When we evaluate our lives, it is best to look deep into the present moment. This is an honest look at oneself, without needless self-criticism.

Look at your accomplishments, your worthiness, and learn from the set -backs of the past. This is your "starting point" toward ridding your life of emotional clutter. Many people wait for things to change. They hope and wish, but most of the time nothing drastic changes.

If you wait for things to happen, they seldom do. It takes action to cause change. These principles are learned by observing the Law of Karma. **End Summary** Topics: Discover Yoga yogi yogic health healthy fit fitness Emotional emotion rid discard empty
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.
Hatha Yoga For Personal Growth and Empowerment

In Yoga, many students consult their teacher, Guru, or Swami for general advice. These consultations are not always related to Yoga. For the student, the problem is finding reliable advice. He or she listens to the teacher for knowledge and helpful advice.

Where can you find concrete advice? Advice, in and of itself, is a form of connecting personal opinions, personal belief systems, and personal values into a recommendation. Therefore, if you obtain the advice of another, it is his or her personal opinion. In some ways, each of us would like to resign decision- making to some one else. We want someone, who has all the answers to the riddles of the universe, but we want to have control over our lives. This creates an internal conflict, as most of us want to establish our independence.

Why do we seek the advice of a Yoga teacher, Guru, or Swami? A Guru is a person who is regarded as having great wisdom or knowledge, and uses it to guide others. A Swami is one who knows and is master of herself/himself.
Yoga Off the Mat - Reduce Your Stress at Work

Whether you are a Yoga teacher, or student, it is worthwhile to learn the art of Yoga off the mat. In Hatha Yoga classes, many of the daily benefits are believed to happen only within the confines of the class. It is time for students to discover the benefits of Yoga during daily life.

If you are a student, take the time to talk to your Hatha Yoga instructor about stress reduction techniques that you can practice at work and home. You should learn a daily routine of meditation, posture, relaxation, breathing, and more, which can be practiced when you need them most.

You do not need a Yoga mat to sit, stand, or walk, in good posture. The same is true for deep and slow breathing techniques. Most of us can be quite challenged by remembering to sit up straight, and breathe properly, throughout the day. It seems we have to constantly remind ourselves about basic maintenance.

Yet, the rewards of healthy living are many - especially when you factor in stress reduction. Stress can be stimulating, but when we are overwhelmed by it, we can experience pain in the back, head, and chest. **End Summary** Topics: Yoga yogic health healthy fit fitness Off Mat Reduce Stress stresses Work office
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.

Whether you are a Yoga teacher, or a student, personal development is a result of your practice. If you are already teaching Yoga classes, you have seen your personal growth jump light years ahead since your foundational training.

Yet, students often have problems, and it is easy to become sidetracked by their life struggles. You may invest time in your physical practice, but are you focusing on your own mental, emotional, and spiritual growth?

Let's look at a way to continue our personal growth during the course of an average week. Are you investing time in reading, watching, or listening to bad news? It is impossible to completely avoid the sensational stories of violence, terror, and crime, but we can sensor the amount of horrible stories that we take in during the week.

Some of the most balanced people I know choose what they listen to in their spare time, by listening to educational CDs, reading useful information, and watching educational television. This is not to imply that we should ignore current events, but we have "the final say" over how much bad news we want to listen to. **End Summary** Topics: Hatha Yoga yogic health healthy fit fitness Personal Growth grow develop development
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.
Yoga in Practice - Manifest the Law of Attraction

Yoga has been called, or explained as, many things. There are many forms of Yoga, but all of them lead to clarity in our senses of judgment. Granted, there are some of us who do not listen to logical advice, but with age, comes the wisdom to absorb ideas, which become clearly apparent.

Yoga allows each of us to see the hidden truths in life. When something is clearly revealed to the mind, it seems as if we should have been able to see an obvious truth all along. Yet, some will say that life is a matter of lucky coincidences. Is life just a matter of being in the right place and time, or do we miss opportunities on a daily basis?

There is no luck involved, when our minds are trained to focus on the power of attraction. If we truly want to make a change, we must take the first step toward realization of a new path, which was not seen before. It's time to look at life with an open mind. Opportunities are always around us; especially if we program our minds to look for them. **End Summary** Topics: Yoga yogic health healthy Practice fit fitness Manifest Law Attraction spiritual emotion
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.
Yoga Teacher Certification Courses on the Internet

Do you wonder about the value of certifications earned on the Internet? How do you sort out who is reputable? When is a Yoga teacher correspondence course a viable option? How can anyone benefit from online certification? Will virtual training ever replace traditional face-to-face education of Yoga instructors? Let's review these questions and sort through your options.

1. Is there a value in Yoga certifications or diplomas earned on the Internet? Many of the world's Yoga registries, and Yoga certifying organizations, recognize the value of non-contact continuing education credits (CEUs).

Correspondence courses, and online courses, are a form of independent study in many fields, including Yoga. Distance learning credits may be applied toward re-certification or to keep a registration active.

2. How do you sort out which Yoga courses are reputable? If the certifying body specializes in Yoga, this is a major step. The certifying body should have a qualified Yoga teacher trainer on its staff. If the certifying body writes courses for aircraft mechanics and computer repair; you may want to shop around.

3. When is a Yoga teacher correspondence course a viable option? **End Summary** Topics: health healthy fit fitness teach teacher teaching certification certificate internet course
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.
Online Yoga Teacher Internet Community

How has the Yoga teacher community managed to flourish so quickly? It seems to have occurred around the time the web made rapid advancements in technology. There is no coincidence in the timing of the popularity growth of Yoga and Internet video technology. Here is what happened and why.

Until recently, most Yoga practitioners were dependent upon training with their Guru, in small groups, or training alone with a book. Without constant stimulation, feedback, or guidance, most students did not participate in Yoga long enough to experience the long-term benefits of regular practice.

Words like "self-realization" and "transformation" can be a mystery, if you practice Yoga without ongoing support. This is where Internet-based Yoga education has been so crucial in the global popularity of Yoga. At this time, any student or teacher of Yoga, can find resources which help one sustain a steady practice.

In turn, the global Yoga teacher community has made web-based resources available for the public. Anyone can learn how to practice Yoga for preventative health, pain management, ailments, physical rehabilitation, or reduction of chronic stress levels.

Evidence, in the form of benefits experienced by long-term practitioners, can be seen in the current economic crisis. **End Summary** Topics: yogic health healthy fit fitness Online Yoga Teacher teach Internet Community web
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.
Teaching Hatha Yoga - About Students Who Are Grieving

How can Yoga help someone cope with loss? Surely, Yoga must have its limits for healing one who has experienced loss or grief. Yoga teaches us to accept what we cannot control. Yet, we are not made of stone. Humans have emotions and we do not want to expose them for public display.

As each of us knows, there are different levels of grief and loss. Yet, that does not explain the level of misery someone may feel. The loss of a friend, spouse, parent, child, and pet are relative to the relationship, situation, or personalities involved.

There are more forms of loss which should be taken seriously. Grieving over the loss of a job, divorce, home, way of life, financial loss, or suddenly becoming handicapped are hardships which test each of us. One person may lose a job and laugh, while another person may consider suicide.

There are many people who are hurt by unemployment and financial hardships. Whole families can become homeless as a result. It is easy to consider the loss of a pet as nothing serious, if the pet is not your own. **End Summary** Topics: yoga yogic health healthy fit fitness student students teach teaching hatha grieving
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.
Yoga and Three Prosperity Myths

Do you think that you should not be paid for teaching Yoga? Have you ever been told that a spiritual life cannot have prosperity? Do you believe that you should live a life of suffering? Let's talk about three obstacles that people create to avoid prosperity.

First myth: While it is true that prosperity is not all about money, it is also true that many people have an ethical problem with wealth. The first of these obstacles rests in the belief that one should not be paid for his or her time. If you can teach me how to improve at golf, skiing, or tennis, you should be paid for it.

Now, I ask you: Is a Yoga teacher's time worth less than an instructor who will teach you a sports skill? Yoga instructors teach methods for improving mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical health. Is that worth less than a golf, skiing, or tennis lesson?

Second myth: A spiritual life cannot be prosperous. Were all of the temples, churches, mosques, and shrines built for free? Someone had to donate building materials, labor, and permits, to build spiritual gathering places. In life, nothing is really free. **End Summary** Topics: Yoga yogic health healthy fit fitness Three Prosperity Myths myth money compensation
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.
Hatha Yoga For Training the Mind

We often see pictures of Hatha Yoga practitioners performing physical feats, but we cannot see pictures of a trained mind. There is a Chinese proverb, which states, "A picture's meaning can express ten thousand words." It seems to have been loosely translated into English as: "A picture is worth a thousand words."

Nevertheless, we are moved by pictures and movies that stimulate thoughts with incredible feats, action, and special effects. Meanwhile, training the mind through meditation, Yoga, or self-study is often ignored because it does not sell as many copies.

Yet, we live in the real world. After we are released from the virtual world, when a game or movie is over, we must use our minds for work and studies. The power of the mind can be wasted when we fail to take action on our own behalf. A good example of this is health prevention and awareness of what we can control.

Making Hatha Yoga a Daily Habit

How, and why, should Hatha Yoga become a daily habit? If we want to succeed in life, the habits we create will contribute to our personal development. We could let habits go their merry way and become addicted to drugs, alcohol, gambling, and many more self-destructive paths.

However, each of us has the power to create positive habits. Creating a positive habit takes some self-discipline, but a steady journey forward is the reward. What sort of rewards can anyone expect to receive by practicing Yoga?

Optimum physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health are the rewards of steady Yoga practice. These are the reasons why practitioners continue to study Yoga for life. Having a sound mind and body, during the course of your life, is a lucrative offer.

How do we instill positive health habits, when so many of us naturally default toward bad health habits? The future of your health is tied to your daily habits, but sometimes, you may want to be indulgent. Practicing Yoga does not mean you have to give up life, but it does point us toward the path of moderation.

Peer pressure may be one reason for indulging. **End Summary** Topics: Hatha Yoga yogic health healthy fit fitness Daily day Habit habits routine development
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.
Practicing Hatha Yoga For a Personal Growth Path

In Yoga classes, we are taught about Santosha (contentment). Yet, how can we be content with our lives, when we are influenced by the past, and the society we live in? We have to accept the fact that we are products of our family, culture, and education. To accept oneself at "face value" and without judgment is the beginning of finding inner peace.

For each of us this is a starting point in the journey of Yoga practice, and the path of personal growth, which runs parallel to our Yogic studies. Sometimes the reality that we are in control of our destiny is hard to face. Some of us have been trained to believe we have limited or no control over our lives.

Many people would like to resign the responsibility of personal growth to a higher authority. In a military society, it is easier to forward decision making to the next highest rank. This is a necessary part of the military structure and "the chain of command." There are also very repressive forms of government, which take all decision making out of your hands. **End Summary** Topics: Practicing practice Hatha Yoga yogic health healthy Personal Growth develop development
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.

Can Hatha Yoga create inspiration? How often have you wondered, "Why don't I just quit?" Yet, you continue to practice, study, and live life. We have no choice but to continue - whether we practice Yoga, or not. Life is a journey, and we might as well become inspired with every step.

How can Yoga and inspiration become two of your most valuable assets? The power you can develop, by practicing Yoga and developing inspiration, is unlimited. Inspiration is pure direction. If you meet a person, who is completely inspired, that person clearly sees his or her path in life.

This is much similar to the Yogi who discovers self-realization. Such a person is not deterred by life's set backs. From the day we were born, we should realize that the journey of life is not always the straightest path. If we want to accomplish something, it may take work, determination, and self-motivation.

Some obstacles are so massive, that it is easy to become discouraged. In regard to freedom, Mohandas Gandhi once said, "Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes. **End Summary** Topics: Hatha Yoga yogic health healthy fit fitness Vision Inspired inspire develop inspiration
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.
Yoga For Cramps, Safety, Chakras, and Other Yoga Teacher Questions

Have you ever wondered about the causes of cramps or why there are differences in the colors of the same chakras? Below is a question and answer session from a lecture for Yoga teachers in Attleboro, Massachusetts.

Q: If a student (normally very fit) gets a cramp during the class, what can I do as a Yoga teacher, in terms of safety and health?

A: With cramps, the muscles involved are like a pulley system. For example: If someone is getting cramps in the calf, the toes should be spread apart and point upward, but not straight forward, which would intensify the muscle cramp.

This movement lengthens the calf muscle and relieves the cramp. This principle works with most other muscle groups. The problem of cramping can get worse if a student decides to push through a cramp. Also, massage can be of good benefit.

Q: What poses would you suggest for a student, who has weak ankles and sore feet, to promote a better and easier feeling?

A: About weak ankles - this depends on the student, but it is usually a skeletal problem. There is limited muscle tissue around the ankles. **End Summary** Topics: Yoga yogic health healthy Cramps cramps Safety Chakras chakra Teacher Questions teach
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.
Hatha Yoga in Practice - Is Shirshasana (Headstand) Dangerous?

On March 22, 2001, the New England Journal of Medicine published a study about the connection between specific Yoga postures (asanas) and a particular type of stroke called, "arterial dissection." It seems that sudden neck movements, or any Yoga posture that places extreme pressure on your neck, can put you at risk.

Am I trying to scare you about the dangers involved in practicing a posture, such as: Shirshasana? No, but you should be aware of the potential for injuries in any posture. The chances of experiencing arterial dissection, as a result of Shirshasana practice, are quite rare; but this is only the tip of the iceberg, when we consider developing a safe Yoga practice.

For example, your cervical vertebrae are quite thin, in comparison to your lumbar vertebrae, for a reason: Your lumbar vertebrae are large in comparison to cervical vertebrae. The surrounding muscular tissue in your back, shoulders, and neck, were designed to support your spine and the weight of your skull.

When you turn everything upside down, you put pressure on the thin and delicate cervical vertebrae. Additionally, do you know for sure that you do not have arthritis or osteoporosis? **End Summary** Topics: Hatha yogic Yoga Practice health healthy fitness Shirshasana Headstand Dangerous
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.

On a worldwide scale, many people practice Hatha Yoga daily to compensate for chronic stress. While anxiety and stress are nothing new to humankind, this recent state of economic instability, and uncertainty, has caused people from every part of the world to worry about the economy.

At the same time, people are taking a pro-active stance toward their health. During the Great Depression, many people resorted to alcohol instead of seeking a positive solution. In contrast, it is encouraging to see the number of people, who are seeking alternative health methods to deal with overwhelming stress.

The level of education today has resulted in more rational solutions, when people consider methods for relief of worry. The age groups, who practice Hatha Yoga, cover the entire spectrum. There are Baby Yoga, Mommy and me, and Chair Yoga classes.

During the course of a week, I see students from 5 to 101 years of age. In comparison to alcohol, Yoga is very inexpensive. The cost of a Yoga class is about the same, or less than, two glasses of wine at a local restaurant. In contrast to consuming alcohol, it is safe to drive home after a Yoga class. **End Summary** Topics: yoga yogi yogic yoga economy yogic health Anxiety Solution Stressful Economy
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.
Yoga and the Path to Prosperity in Difficult Economic Times

How in the world can Yoga help you find prosperity? Where does the path to prosperity begin? It's a tough economy out there; how can I think about anything other than survival? These questions are asked more often lately, than most of us have heard in a lifetime, but let's address each one and you will find your path toward prosperity.

Where does the path to prosperity begin? Much like Yoga practice, the path to prosperity begins within each of us. One key is that we have to feel that we make a difference in this lifetime. This is not a difficult task, but it requires that you support your friends, family, colleagues, and associates, in times of need. Just by listening, you can make a difference.

You can create a culture of prosperity within and share it with others. The result is the same as the Law of Karma and the Law of Attraction. The positive energy you send out will always come back to you, even when you do not want anything for it.

Yoga For Prosperity - Define and Cultivate Abundant Energy

Why do some Yoga Gurus frown on the concept of prosperity? What does a prosperous life mean to them? How do you define prosperity? If you want to be prosperous, how would you go about cultivating abundant energy? Let's take a journey into Yogic philosophy and the energy surrounding the cultivation of prosperity.

Is a prosperous life bad? Is abundance the reason for a miserable existence? The reason prosperity is scorned by some is based upon what a person does with it. Will a person become greedy or generous, when faced with a sudden windfall of wealth? It all depends on the person. Greed and selfishness are the true roots of the problem.

There seems to be an ageless conflict between spiritual growth and economic growth. Some people see prosperity only as material wealth. This is how the dividing line between Yoga and money was arrived at. Yet, all of us wish a newborn child and a newlywed couple a long and prosperous life.

Prosperity has many definitions, and the most important qualities of a prosperous life are not tangible. **End Summary** Topics: yoga yogi yogic yogic attitude yogic prosperity prosperity in yoga
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.
Questions About Back Pain and Yoga

The exact cause of back pain can sometimes be a mystery. If your physicians cannot come up with a solid reason for your pain, after a battery of tests, you may want to try an alternative method. Below is a case when Yoga has helped a back pain mystery.

Q: I have been getting pain in the L-4 and L-5 area of the Lumbar spine for the past six years. Sometimes, the pain is in my sacrum, but it is a mystery. My doctors have taken numerous X-rays and MRIs, but nobody has found anything structurally wrong with my spine.

One doctor told me it is all in my head, but the pain is sharp, wincing, and I swear it is real to me. Another doctor offers me all the pain killers I need. My Chiropractor suggested I visit a Yoga class. After listening to her say it ten times, I finally went to a gentle restorative Yoga class, because I was in so much pain that I couldn't think straight.

After the class was over, I was in complete shock. The pain was gone and I slept well that night. After two days, the pain came back. **End Summary** Topics: yoga yogi yogic yogic health back pain yoga back pain
About the Author:
Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.
