Article Marketing And Content Cheapskates

I see this everywhere and still cannot believe that people do not get it. Content is still king on the web. The most important thing you will ever do for your website is to put in good content. Great content will get you links and your position in the search engine results will be because of the content you put into your website.

Hundreds of back links will not get you ranked well with poor content. Great content will get you good keyword positioning with or without back links, therefore, content is still the most important aspect of your website. Great design, flash, graphics, and a cool banner will not get you ranked well for your keywords and phrases. Great content will!

Let’s first look at the content in your website. Images are great with alt tags. That helps. But it is the text on the pages that, when done correctly, will help your search engine results. This text is also what will convert your customers into sales.

This text is what your customers will read or not read based on it’s quality.** End Summary**
About the Author:
Want Quality Content written for you by professional Ghostwriters?
Company Blogs

Of the top 500 companies in the USA only 40 have a company blog. The reasons for this are not yet clear, however some speculate that marketing agencies do not have enough domain specific knowledge to truly comprehend the value of a company blog from a PR, branding and direct sales perspective.

According to Bill Gates a company blog provides opportunities for companies to establish opinion and thought, whilst creating a “human face” to an organization.

Speaking with a blog consultant may help to explain the true ROI that can be gained through effective blog management and implementation; a company blog is an effective SEM (search engine marketing) tool that establishes authority and provides direct sales conversions.

With the rise in social blogging, the commercial sector is set to follow, with companies such as Microsoft already realizing and experiencing the benefits of a company blog. They are able to respond to news as and when it happens, they are able to attain feedback on products, and they have also created a sales platform that speaks with millions of highly targeted customers.** End Summary**
About the Author:
NameCritic’s Blogging Services are reasonably priced.
Do You Really Understand Article Marketing? - Lets Find Out

I was inspired to write this article by some people who are doing article marketing or whom at least THINK they are doing article marketing. I go to rentacoder.com, getafreelancer.com, and other freelance websites and I get emails for bid requests where people are looking for article writers. Some of the bids would amaze you.

Example: "I need high quality articles of 500 words or more each written with SEO in mind. I am willing to pay $1.50 per article."

Some go on to say they want 2.5% keyword density while another will say 6% keyword density and others have other density requirements. Bottom line is that tells me they are the ones who are dense. They read some Ebook or whatever that told them what the proper percentage is for keyword density. No one can give you an exact percentage. Those that do give out advice on that and quote a specific percentage are almost as dense as the people who believe them.

You are not going to get high quality articles written for $1.50.** End Summary**
About the Author:
Chris McElroy aka NameCritic owns ArticleContentProvider.com and has blogs at Blogs.pn , www.scotlandseoblog.co.uk , & NameCritic.Blogs.pn

What Does Seo Mean?

Every new webmaster will eventually run into the term SEO (Search Engine Optimization or Search Engine Optimizer) when he or she is working on marketing a website. This term can be generic and decisive all in one study.

The term came around at about the same time as the Search Engines started to take hold. Infoseek was one of the first broadly used search engines and the SEO crowd quickly grasped onto designing the sites with SEO as the main intent. The first technique was to simply stuff keywords for the sites into the Meta-tags. This design allowed webmasters’ new sites to go to the top of the search rankings.

Infoseek and the other search engines quickly began working on systems to overcome the stuffing of web-pages with SEO work. This has now cascaded into an all out war between the search engine companies and those proclaiming to be SEO experts.

This war has those that contend that natural web design rules. You design the site for the surfer to browse and review. You pay a small amount of attention to the Meta Tags and the search engines.** End Summary**
About the Author:
Chris McElroy manages the SEO Blog for ASM Development - We can help you with all your SEO & Web Design needs & Ghostwrites Articles .

What Is Page Rank And Why Do We Want It?

Everyone seems to be scrambling around trying to get links on websites with a high google page rank. I see lists of people posting on freelance websites, "I need 100 inbound links with PR5 or higher!", "Inbound Links needed from PR3 and above websites", etc. etc.

I get emails from webmasters all the time wanting to trade links with me because I have a higher pages rank than they do. I have to use all sorts of filtering methods in the Webmaster Forums I manage to keep the spammers from posting links in the forum because it has a high page rank.

The spammers keep coming up with new nicknames and websites, and even new ip addresses. Getting their link on a high pr website or forum is so important to them they are like roaches after leftover cake in your kitchen at night. (I hope you don't really have roaches . . . or spammers.)

The funny thing is that I don't even see the posters on the freelance sites even adding that the links need to be from related websites. Just any link on a page with high page rank.

According to Wikipedia.** End Summary**
About the Author:
Chris McElroy aka NameCritic has been involved in Internet marketing since 1995.
Blogging On Free Hosts Not A Good Idea

This article is about blogging and why you should never blog on a free host like blogger.com or wordpress.com I am writing this to alert people out there who are building blogs on free blog hosts like blogger.com and wordpress.com

Installing wordpress is free and gives you full control over your blog. There are other platforms like moveable type to choose from as well. Take a look around and find the platform you like or that best fits your blogging style. I've learned an expensive lesson and now will only build blogs on my own domain names.

The reason?

Lets start with blogger.com

They have a new out of control spam bot. Search the blogger help forums and you will find the horror stories. Legitimate blogs are being deleted, people are getting locked out of their blog until reviewed, and assumed to be a spammer because either the bot flagged the blog or someone clicked the little flag button at the top of all blogger blogs.

That and the fact that they have constant problems with the publishing getting stuck at 0%, slow load times, etc. it makes blogging through blogger.** End Summary**
About the Author:
Chris McElroy aka NameCritic owns several blogs he posts to daily like Blogs.pn and Humor Blog He also manages several blogs for clients.
10 Ways To Increase Your Blog’s Pageviews

With Google Adsense or Yahoo Publisher, having people click onto more pages helps your revenue immensely, but how do you get them to read more than one page when they visit your website? Here are a few tips.

1. Create pages within the blog that contain reference material you refer to often in your posts. These static pages will also get crawled and indexed by the search engines and as you write posts about your topics you can refer people to these static pages as references to what you are posting about.

2. Use articles as static pages. You can reprint articles on any topic for free by visiting one of the many article directories like http://www.articlecontentprovider.com/articlesubmit/ Then refer people to read the articles that relate to the post you are making. You could even add one article as a new page every time you make a post.

3. Refer to other posts you have made on your blog or on another one of your blogs while posting. This gets the reader to click over to previous posts. You can even decide your posts by browsing previous posts and deciding which one to follow up on.** End Summary**
About the Author:
Chris McElroy aka NameCritic owns several blogs he posts to daily like Blogs.pn and his Personal Blog He also manages several blogs for clients.
Article Marketing Myths And Facts

By now everyone has heard of article marketing and so many people out define it in so many different ways there that it has become hard for people new to article marketing to understand.

First of all, most of the SEO Gurus caught on to article marketing late in the game, then scrambled to create their own definitions of it at the last minute so it didn’t appear they were ever not aware of the power of article marketing.

In general, article marketing is where you write an article on a topic that is related to your website topic. Not a promotional article for your website, but an article about something that is informative to the reader. In the article you use keywords and phrases that relate to your topic as well, much like you would optimize a webpage. Your article when reprinted will be the text of a webpage or webpages.

In the author bio section at the bottom is some info about you and links to your website. It is suggested that you put in one link to your main page and one to an interior page that fits the article you are writing.** End Summary**
About the Author:
For more about article marketing visit NameCritic’s Website at ArticleContentProvider.com or visit AWD Forum for free advice. NameCritic's Blog

SEO Software And Ebooks

I have been on the Internet for a long time. At least I have been doing marketing a long time in relation to the Internet as a commercial entity.

Around the end of 1995 I speculated in domain names, learning about keywords and phrases and how they help the search engines find the content you are providing at your website.

I continued to learn about keywords and as search engine optimization became a necessity I was ready to use what I had learned about keywords and phrases, domain names, search engines and content.

There were quite a few people, say a couple of hundred who really knew how to use keywords to optimize websites.

However, then it was to help search engines do a better job of indexing all of the content on the web. Now it seems the roles are reversed and the search engines are in charge. At least many seem to think so.** End Summary**
About the Author:
Chris McElroy aka NameCritic does consulting work and complete Website Management. Blogs.pn and Article Marketing for more info.

Spammers And Spam Hunters

Sometimes I don't know which people are the worst. Those that spam or those that say they are going after spammers.

I deleted 145 spam posts on one of my blogs today. Fortunately I have moderate comments turned on so they never actually get posted. That makes the spammers bad, but that’s the worst inconvenience spammers have caused me.

However those that supposedly are our Spam saviors. Those that say they are fighting spam have caused me more problems than the spammers themselves.

Sorbs.net lists your domain name as a spam domain name if you happen to be hosted on or near the same IP address as the spammers. Therefore you are guilty by association.

To get your domain name removed off of sorbs.net's list, you have to give them money. Sounds a lot like extortion since they manually add you to the list then ask you for money to be removed.

Then of course they tell you that they give the money to charity. I checked out the charity they say they give the money to. It goes to a legal defense fund they could use to defend themselves if you sued them. Some charity.** End Summary**
About the Author:
Chris McElroy aka NameCritic has several of his own blogs at NameCritic - blogs.pn - TTJPMO - Who Let The Blog Out?

How Important Is Website Design?

In this article I will be writing about Website Design, how it affects sales, and how it compares in importance to other aspects of Website Management. Lets list the different aspects of owning or managing a Website.

Domain Name: How important is the domain name you choose for your Website? Many people say it is not important at all, yet I have number one listings in Google, Yahoo, and MSN for the key phrases that exactly match my domain name. It matters a lot.

You need a domain name that matches keywords and phrases you will also use in your Website that people are searching for. Many people think their company name should be their domain name. If you have a lot of money for advertising to make your company name something people search for, I agree with you. If you do not have that ad budget, then you need a generic domain name that is a phrase people already search for.

Web Hosting: How important is choosing the right Web Hosting Service for your Website? Again, this is important in many ways. You need your Website to load fast.** End Summary**
About the Author:
Chris McElroy aka NameCritic has been involved in Internet Marketing and Domain Names since 1995. Article Marketing , Blogging , and Webmaster Forum

Google Keywords Tool Guide

If you have thought about starting your own website or already have one, and have done any research at all, you have read about the importance of keywords. Everything on the web is driven by keywords. It’s the fuel the Internet runs on.

One of the ways to get great traffic to your website is through the Google Adwords program. You select the keywords you want to bid on and set up the budget you want to use to get traffic based on those keywords from websites that utilize the Google Adsense program and other sources.

There is a tool to help you choose the best keywords to bid on that you definitely need to know about. I just learned about it from a friend, so we are going to learn how to use it together. Open a new browser window and copy and paste this address into your address bar.

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

If you are not sure about all of the terms used in association with keywords and Google’s Adwords program, click that very first link that says, “keywords for your ad campaigns”. You can use that as a guide if we get into unfamiliar territory.** End Summary**
About the Author:
More info at AffiliateWebsiteDesign.com, and Blogs.pn Also, do you need Articles or Content written for you?

Article Marketing Doesn't Work

First let me explain article marketing for those that do not know what it is. Lets say your website is about widgets. You write an article on interesting ways people can use widgets.

In the footer of your article there is an author bio section. In the author bio section you place links to your website about widgets.

You submit that article to as many article directories as possible. You can use a service www.isnare.com ISnare.com who for two dollars per article will submit your article to hundreds of article directories.

Once you submit to all of those directories, remember the link in the author bio section, each of those directories is now a one-way inbound link.

Now none of those links is related to widgets, so they are not relative links, but they do still count for link popularity, just not as much as relative links do.

But the second reason that article directories exist is to provide free content to website owners. These website owners can take your article and use it as content for their website as long as they leave the links in the author bio section active and intact.** End Summary**
About the Author:
Want to know more about article marketing?
Article Marketing Explained

Lots of people have heard about article marketing but do not really understand what it is. There are different ways article marketing can be used to help you.

Writing an informative article about something that is related to your website content, service, or product, then mass submitting it to article submission or free content websites.

Because of the links in your author bio section or footer of the article, every article directory you submit to is linking back to you. While this creates a lot of one-way inbound links, you have to remember that those websites are not likely to be related to your product, service or website content.

In addition to that, those article directories also link to thousands of websites. Even on the page where your article appears in their site, it's likely that many other links accompany your links on the same page, further diminishing the value of those links.

It is worth the effort.
Six Quick Ways Your Website Benefits From Blogging

In this article I’m going to give you six ways that having a blog helps your website. There are a lot more reasons to start a blog, but this article has to do with the benefits to your website.

1. A blog on the same domain name, (as part of your website like yourdomainname.com/blog) can help you add fresh content to your website without having to know html. Fresh daily or even weekly content can keep the search spiders coming back more often. Writing your blog posts on the topics or search terms you want to be relevant for helps as well. Each blog post becomes another webpage targeted for your keywords.

2. A blog on the same domain name will also help you increase the number of pages that are included as part of your website. Content is king and having a ton of relative content will increase your chances of drawing visitors to your website.

3. A Blog on the same domain name or on a subdomain of your domain name or even one that is on another domain name can help you reach out to potential and existing customers with special offers, information, surveys, and more.** End Summary**
About the Author:
Chris McElroy AKA NameCritic writes six blogs daily, manages blogs and forums for several companies.
Getting Blog Links

A lot of time is spent by bloggers trying to get other blogs to link to them. A lot of traffic can be gained by doing this with blogs that are both related to your topic and blogs that have a lot of readers.

This can sometimes be very difficult for new bloggers because they do not yet have enough readers or page rank to interest the bigger blogs.

Talk to other bloggers who are in the same position as you right now and develop a lasting relationship. You link to them, they link to you and as both of your blogs grow those links will pay off for you.

Many people find a blog they like, then will take suggestions from that blog about other blogs they might like. So someone goes to a blog you have traded links with and likes them, then they follow your link and if your content is good, they add you to their reading list. The same happens in reverse for the one you link back to.

Sooner than you think both of your blogs will become ones that a circle of people read.** End Summary**
About the Author:
Chris McElroy AKA NameCritic writes six blogs daily and manages blogs for several companies.
Questioning Parked Domains And Google Adnonsense

Is contextual advertising helping or hurting the web? It basically started with Google Adsense even though the concept wasn’t new. It had never been done on the scale that Google did it. Now we have Yahoo Publisher. MSN is building their version. We have Konterra and a whole lot of other companies scrambling to cash in on the contextual ad craze.

Initially contextual advertising seems like a good idea. Ads based on the content of your website that might benefit your readers or visitors. Ads that are related to the content you produce that will also help you make a little money for your efforts.

However greed ruins all good things. Now there are probably millions of webpages online that are built for the sole purpose of cashing in on contextual advertising. I’m not talking about people who continue to blog the way they always have or continue to maintain a website full of valuable information that just add contextual advertising to boost their revenue a little.

I’m talking about websites full of scraped content, total spam content, or no content at all that are capitalizing on contextual advertising revenue.** End Summary**
About the Author:
Chris McElroy AKA NameCritic has been involved in Internet Marketing since 1995.
What Does A Blogging Consultant Look Like?

You know, normally you can find a definition of a word or phrase by typing “define: your phrase here” into google and come up with a lot of results. Currently there are millions of blogs and there are hundreds of people who call themselves “Blog or Blogging Consultants”, yet when you type “define: Blogging Consultant or Blogging Consultant” into google you get no definition.

That is probably a good thing for most blogging consultants because without a definition, there is no standard to hold them to. I’m not claiming to be the blogging guru of all time or anything of the sort. So before you “blogging consultants” out there start getting defensive about this, think before you write. If you get too nasty about the post I may ask you to define “blogging consultant” and without google many of you couldn’t do it.

Now that is out of the way, lets talk business. Every business should have a blog. There are so many reasons for your business to have a blog it would be hard to write them all in one blog post, so lets assume you know your company needs a blog.

So do you hire a blogging consultant?** End Summary**
About the Author:
Now back to that cost thing.
ICANN Violating Free Enterprise?

Message to ICANN: Let those who want to create a TLD, simply register it with ICANN.

If the TLD is not already taken, if they have the technical capability to mange the TLD, and they have the desire to market domain names on that TLD, then let them do so.

It should be similar to the registering of a domain name, except on a higher level, with the added technical requirements. ICANN should be sort of an upper-registry for TLDs.

It would be ludicrous for a domain name registrar like GoDaddy or eNom to ask you for a business plan, or a non-refundable application fee, before allowing you to register a domain name. It would be ridiculous for a registrar to have “rounds” of domain name releases of names “they chose” in advance.

Okay, this month, GoDaddy will be allocating cheaperwebhosting.com, doggrommingmadeeasy.net, and virtualinternetwebnetwork.net. We will be taking applications and public comment during the month of February. We will then spend another month reviewing the applicants business plans to decide who we will allocate the domain name to.** End Summary**
About the Author:
Chris McElroy AKA NameCritic has been involved in Internet Marketing since 1995, has participated in Internet Governance since 1998, in working groups for the former DNSO and AtLarge, now in mailing lists about the GNSO and ICANN.
