A new decade, let alone a New Year! We all know how tough 2009 was for many, and in some ways it made people even more determined to make a big physical change. However 95% f diets are known to fail. To make such a personal decision we ask you to consider the source and ask Questions and question answers.

It was decided, 2010 was going to be a great year (on looks alone) and anything we committed to on such a fabulous looking year was bound to be a success.

For so many people 2009 was a tough year and I've found that people are so ready to start the new year with new found drive and hope. There's an extra sense of determination that I think may come from fighting through the struggles of 2009.

CONSIDER THE SOURCE

It is very true that drive, determination and hard work will take you far in life .. it will however, take you nowhere but down, if you're on the wrong path from the getgo. The gyms of the world as full of people who work out and never ever change. **End Summary** Topics: diet wellness nutrition nasm fitness health weight loss metabolism certification cardio
About the Author:
Health Professionals, become Certified with the Nutrition Certification that is legally demanded nationwide

A Mother's Blind Love Seals the Fate for the Over Weight Child.

In a group of mothers there were some who would be classified as 'Obese'. When they were asked, 95% of those obese mothers did indeed recognize that classification to be true about them selves.

When asked about their children, 79% if the mothers (who had overweight children) failed to recognize their own children as being overweight.

"A face only a mother could love"

In the eyes of a mother sometimes a child can do no wrong and obviously in the eyes of the majority of mothers they can also be blinded to what has become a national epidemic ... childhood obesity. (University of Cincinnati College of Medicine)

At 9 or 10 years of age there seems to be little difference in the self esteem of the obese and the non obese children but by the ages of 13 and 14 the self esteem of the obese children is shown to drop quite significantly. These children became sad, lonely and/or nervous. These same children were also more likely to take up drinking alcohol and smoking.

In one study (Caterson 1997) it was shown that children view obesity as a disability and actually worse than losing a limb. **End Summary** Topics: obesity childhood overweight mothers children
About the Author:
<a href="http://www.joannelee.com">http://www.joannelee.com</a> <a href="http://www.joanneleenutrition.co">http://www.joanneleenutrition.com</a> Joanne Lee, Los Angeles Conditioning Coach.
Are You a LowCarb Fitness Freak ?

Back in 1992 the food pyramid was introduced and then in 2005 it was updated. This became the bench mark that was to be followed and advised for nutritional health. Maybe the intentions were good but both pyramids are greatly flawed and misconceptions were formed. The 1992 pyramid encouraged low fat and high carbohydrates. To greatly summarize, what happened is that saturated fat was linked to the risk of heart disease and other ailments, the pyramid therefore instructed us to reduce the fat in our diet. With that preface it could not then promote a high protein diet as red meat contains a lot of saturated fat. It had just told us that Fat was bad and protein, especially red met, has fat in it so it too must be "Bad" .... What was left ? Fat was bad and by default Protein was therefore bad, that left us with only carbohydrates, so by elimination alone carbohydrates became "Good" The 1992 pyramid failed to distinguish between good fats and bad fats and it did not consider the different sources of protein. **End Summary** Topics: carbs diet weight loss exercise gym fat
About the Author:
<a href="http://www.joannelee.com">http://www.joannelee.com</a> <a href="http://www.joanneleenutrition.co">http://www.joanneleenutrition.com</a> Joanne Lee Los Angeles Conditioning Coach.
All Fat Does Not Jiggle

"She's not Fat, she's just a Big Girl"

Just because it doesn't jiggle doesn't mean it's not fat !

If I could just have a dollar for every time I have heard a girl say that she doesn't like to train legs because they get too big, or a gentleman tell me how he's not fat, he's just solid. I have news for you all ... it is FAT!

There are different ways in which our body stores fat.

1. SUBCUTANEOUS.. The most obvious in fat that is held underneath the skin. This subcutaneous fat (under the skin) is what we see as rolls or that dimpled cellulite. It has mind of its own and you cannot flex it or suck it in. You cannot hold your breath and have a double chin tighten or a flabby arm feel firm. This fat is the ugly stuff that is shunned by society.

2. IMTG ... INTRAMUSCULAR TRIGLYCERIDES. Droplets of fat can also be stored in muscle and it gives the appearance of a more 'solid' physique, it is this fat that is often mistaken for muscle. Fat is also stored in the not so pretty muscles, like your heart and other organs. **End Summary** Topics: fat muscle weight loss diet
About the Author:
<A href="http://www.joannelee.com/">http://www.joannelee.com</A>

Are You Destoying Your Metabolism?

Last year as a nation we spent $30 billion on weight loss programs and products. This year 50 million Americans will go on a diet ... 95% of those people will fail at keeping the weight off.

What other industry could survive, let alone flourish with a failure rate of 95% ? Even more astounding, what industry has repeat business clientele with such a rate of failure.

It makes no sense ! If you blame yourself for a product or program not working, then maybe you will go back over and over again. Maybe you will go back when you see all the commercials, adverts and billboards that show all the people it has (supposedly) worked for. Most weight loss programs and products count on you blaming yourself (and not them) when results are not forthcoming or not long lived.

This gets me a little ticked off and I know it applies just as much to men as it does for women, but for women every failure erodes their own self perception. Year in and year out their self concept is chipped away at until they feel they have no control whatsoever. They may be treated badly at work or by their family. **End Summary** Topics: diet weight loss food metabolism fat losing weight
About the Author:
<a href="http://www.joannelee.com">http://www.joannelee.com</a>
